We found this little gem and decided to give it a try. Ordered crab cake, code and brewis, soup of the moment, cod burger and prime berth burger. Food is cooked well, and the portions are more than adequate for our party of 2. We might have over-ordered as we didn’t have breakfast. The appetizers are tasty. However, the cod and the beef patty are quite salty for the Asian palate. It would be nice if the beef patty can have a little more fat to make it less dense. All in all, a good experience and a great sea view.

What a great find. My wife and I stopped in to as part of the Harvest Host association we belong to. We parked our camper for the night, free, and went in for dinner. Quite busy. Clearly these good people are doing things well. Small waitlist for table. Reservation recommend. Food quality is high. Portions normal and simple. Quite delicious. Great accessibility and ambiance. Easy parking. Looking forward to an iceberg boat tour tomorrow. Up close and personal with ice bergs for some dramatic photos. Hired their service for the morning. Rhea and Terry are pros!

I had the grilled Halibut with a dill sauce, wild rice and a salad with vinaigrette dressing along with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. I then splurged and had a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie. The meal could not be beat and Audrey, my waitress, provided me with great service. She made me feel very welcomed and appreciated. And then I got to spend the night in the parking lot with a brilliant view of the colorful waterfront. It couldn’t have been better. Lastly, it is located in a quaint little village right by the water with incredible views that caused my photographers eye much joy.

The food was great, the cod for the fish&chips is insanely good, lobster was fresh and already mostly prepared to eat easily! They allowed us to sit on the patio with our dog! Boat tours are also available here and the boat tour was amazing! The boat captain was super nice and ready to answer any and all questions! He showed us around a bunch of icebergs and even caught a piece of ice for us to take home to our cooler!

Google
Definitely our best meal in Newfoundland! Food was so great, service was amazing and the views are quite something too! We were lucky to get in as we didn’t have a reservation so, do make a reservation or hope to get a table if you get there really really early like we did !

Google
Excellent restaurant with a beautiful view. Even do we didn’t get to go the iceberg we saw(24 miles off the coast) the boat tour with toby was great and he was very friendly and informative. It’s also a nice boat to be on when it’s a chillier day.

Google
Great food! Great people! We had a blast being screeched. Thank you for making our day so special! The boat tour was amazing and Thank you for cooking our makerels. What a privilege to eat fish that we caught. If you are looking for a place to eat fresh seafood with local Inspiration, do not look further, this is THE place in St Lunaire! You can't get much better than this place! Terry and his crew are very welcoming and willing to give you the best experience. Cheers

Google
I would highly recommend this restaurant. Everything was excellent. We ordered mussels and beet salad for appetizers. Halibut and pan fried cod for entree. And pie and cobbler for dessert. Everything was delicious.

Yelp
Excellent service, food, cocktails , scenery, and friendly staff. Ordered the halibut with herbed dill sauce which came with wild rice and green salad. Cooked perfectly and the salad was delicious. Nice generous portion. The partridgeberry martini was wonderful! We liked the restaurant so much that we returned during our short stay in the area. Added bonus, our server pointed out a whale (George) out in the water which we enjoyed watching with the binoculars provided. Great dining experience! (Nice gift shop as you enter the restaurant too!)

Yelp
Excellent traditional Newfoundland food! Beautiful views and great service. Fish cakes were delicious.

Yelp
One of a handful of restaurants in the area and likely one of the best. Strictly seafood, so if that's what you're looking for this is the place. I had the halibut and my wife had the cod. Both were cooked to perfection along with fresh greens. Portions were generous and left no room for dessert- which also looked excellent. Clean and well run. You can't go wrong.

Yelp
We stopped for lunch here during a day of hiking and had an excellent meal of fish and chips. Clean room, beautiful view, delicious food. Our server recommended a hike to Camel Island which was beautiful. A great experience and some of the best fish I've had.

Yelp
We have been seated for over 30 minutes, no warm welcome and no one bothered to ask what we would like to have. Terrible service and food is okay. Will not come back for sure!

Hilda E.

Yelp
They really know how to cook fish. Service with all smiles and a terrific ambiance of happy customers. Be sure to make a reservation & try the pan fried cod...YUM ! You won't be disappointed...

Yelp
Live music on Wednesdays is great. Good seafood. I got the goat cheese and beet salad, it was good but potion was a bit small. Had deep fried ice cream for dessert which was delicious. Fantastic location and atmosphere.

Yelp
This was my favorite restaurant I found on an 8 day road trip through Newfoundland. My boyfriend and I were on our way to L'anse aux Meadows and decided to stop for a seafood lunch. We got the fish and chips, the halibut filet in basil butter (a huge 1" thick filet), and mussels (the biggest and most deliciously flaky I've had). The waiter we had was wonderful, funny, and knowledgeable about the menu. He got our food and drinks to us quickly and recommended the filet and mussels; we are very glad we we took his advice. The view from the restaurant, on a hill, was nice and so was the ambience. If I'm ever back this way, I'll return here to eat again.

Yelp
We were visiting the area while on vacation in Newfoundland and visited the restaurant after a day of sightseeing. We decided this place was more our style than the Norseman, and a better value for the $ based on past reviews. We made a reservation before we left our rental, which was a good idea since half the restaurant had a tour bus group. The staff/owners were very attentive, there happened to be musical entertainment while we were there (and he was great!), the food was delicious and they accommodated 2 of us who are gluten free and my 3 kids were happy with the options. It was a good find, yummy and totally affordable.

Yelp
Service was good. Food was great. You pay a bit more but well worth it. Small environment with good Celtic music playing the background.

Yelp
We ordered a few dishes, all delicious. The fish and chips was tender and perfectly done, the crab cakes were delicious, and the lobster was amazing. Also ordered the cod tongues, wasn't sure what to expect, they were a little rubbery in texture. Maybe that's normal! Highly recommended.

Yelp
One of our favorite restaurants in our time in Newfoundland. Best fish and chips, and pan fried cod was also amazing. Great people. Thanks for the experience!

Yelp
We had a very enjoyable time at "The Daily Catch". Our daughter was confused by the linen napkins (guess we need to go to places like this more often). We started our meal with the deep fried calamari, who knew squid could taste so good. The picky munchkin thought they were better than onion rings which is high praise. I think you could easily make a meal out of them alone. While she decided she had enough food adventures for the evening and ordered poutine the rest of us had the fish and chips. I'm not usually one for French fries but I loved the hand cut fries they served along side the beautiful fish. The Cod was flaky and delicately coated in a crispy batter. The portions were large enough we barely had room for dessert. We settled on Deep Fried Ice Cream with Bakeapple Sauce. I had my doubts about ordering this dessert based on a bad experience somewhere else but "The Daily Catch" has redeemed this item in my opinion. Our first encounter with bakeapple was pleasant as well. We will be back again next time we are in the area.

Yelp
Food was pretty good. Seafood was fresh and cooked well. The reason I give it three stars is that the service was pretty dismal. The server ignored a group that came in and stood awkwardly by the door wondering whether they should sit anywhere or wait to be seated. Eventually, someone in the group asked her. She just didn't seem like she was interested in serving people. Also she didn't fully bus a singly table the entire time we were there. Maybe when they run out of clean tables, she'll get to it.

Yelp
The Daily Catch is a quaint little restaurant with an excellent atmosphere and good service. The restaurant is clean. The food is great, I had the fish and chips and I enjoyed it immensely. If you find yourself in the neighbourhood and aren't sure where to eat I suggest you consider The Daily Catch.

Yelp
Best value for our money in the area. Lovely decor and attentive service. Outstanding muscles that we polished off in seconds flat. Meals come with salad and sides for around $20/person. Pan fried cod was done to perfection. Maple glazed salmon was lovely as well. And the portions were plentiful. Couldn't stay for dessert, but the choices looked promising.

Yelp
Amazing fresh halibut and baked cod. Bread pudding and partridgeberry crumble with ice cream were both superb. Best meal we've eaten in 3 weeks.

Dan D.

Yelp
The cod fish and lobster were delicious. It was a little early in the season and given the size of the ice pack, it was difficult to get all the seafood as the fisherman had yet to get their boats out to sea. We found the restaurant friendly and enjoyable with helpful staff and delicious food and desserts. We were their on a Wednesday evening when the live music was playing which only added to the ambiance. Next time we are in Newfoundland, we will definitely be back for dinner.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch after visiting L'Anse aux Meadows on an absolutely horrible weather day. We were very pleasantly surprised! Nice decor - simple but kinda cozy. Food was EXCELLENT! Service was very friendly. We shared the Fishermans Brewis for an appetizer and it is enough for a one-person meal. My wife had the fish chowder which she said was excellent and after the fishermans brewis she was unable to finish. I had an excellent cheese steak sandwich covered with peppers and mushrooms accompanied by a fabulous sauce. All-in-all we would highly recommend this restaurant.
