Daimon Yokocho

We had such a fantastic time at Daimon Yokocho! The atmosphere was lively and full of character, with cozy little pubs lined up next to each other, each offering its own unique vibe. What we loved most was the variety — there were so many drinks to choose from, and every single shop had a different food menu. It truly felt like a culinary adventure, hopping from one place to another and discovering new flavors at every stop. There’s so much to try that you’ll definitely want to go back again. A special mention to our host, who was absolutely wonderful. He kept us entertained throughout the evening, making the experience even more memorable with his energy and hospitality. Every time we raised our glasses, it was a cheerful “Kanpai!” 🍻 If you’re looking for a fun, authentic night out with great food, amazing drinks, and a vibrant atmosphere, Daimon Yokocho is definitely the place to be.

This location is bustling with crowds, both locals and tourists when we visited on a weekday evening. They have so many seafood restaurants, selling fresh crabs, clams, and other meats fresh in stock! The prices can't be beat outside of the country, and is a must-try if you're a tourist visiting Hakodate like us. There are so many restaurants to choose from here, you can never go wrong in where you pick to eat. Do give Daimon Yokocho a visit - you won't regret it!

This outdoor food court has a huge selection restaurants and bar that you can never get tire of even if you just randomly try one every single day. The food is excellent and the service is good. The atmosphere is typical of Japanese izakaya style, so you can relax, get a drink and some food, and just chill out and spend the evening here.

If you ever find yourself in Hakodate in the Hokkaido region and looking for a place to eat, head to the Daimon-Yokocho cluster of small food stalls. There's a variety of cosy eateries to choose from in a lively setting. It's full of locals which is always a good sign that the food is great. We came here 2 nights in a row and tried 2 different places. Neither of them disappointed.

Small little outlet offering various items on menu. However I recommend their beef Stew which is extremely tasty. Friendly staff. Best to go with the beer or highball. One of the F&B outlet open till 10pm at night (most shop close by 8pm).

Great food. The beef ragout was awesome. I had two rounds of Shochu. As izakayas go, it was a decent price for the entire meal.

We drank 2 glasses of beer and some food as shown below , its charged about 3500 yen. The chef said the cover charge is 300 or 600 yen per pax. Is it true? Do all the restaurants here have cover charges? Hakodate restaurant shouldn't be so expensive.

A place that you can try the local style of after-work chilling with foods and alcohol drinks. Not much seat for each restaurant as only can fit around 10 to 15 ppl.
