If you want to be right in the thick of the rainforest, then this is the place for you. The tent style huts with mosquito nets over the bed, adds to the beauty of sleeping safely amongst nature. At night you fall asleep to the sound of the nighttime creatures wondering around your elevated camp style tent. ||Sally was away but her staff did an excellent job with a warm welcome when I arrived. ||Not being use to the heat & humidity, the pool was a welcoming sight.||The camp kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to prepare your own food, if you didn’t bring food you can order a simple but delicious dinner meal from jungle cafe on site. ||A nice drive along the coast will bring you to Cape Tribulation where you will find cafes for breakfast & lunch. ||I stayed 2 nights on my own and I will definitely be back. ||If you’re looking for 5 star accommodation with the creature comforts of home. This place is not for you. |If you’re looking to get back to nature and don’t mind a shared ammenities block, friendly staff, creepy crawlies, animals at your doorstep and the simple things in life. This is the place for you. |Don’t forget to bring your insect repellent!!

We just finished a night hike with Odin as our guide, and it was incredible! His knowledge and infectious enthusiasm made the experience truly special. We saw so many fascinating things (no spoilers!) and left with a real sense of awe. If we could, we’d book an all-day tour with him—it’s the perfect way to bring the 180-million-year-old rainforest to life.

If you want to see a cassowary in the wild this is the place to stay. They wandered frequently through the property whilst we were there in October. The rain forest setting was fantastic the food at the cafe was reasonably priced with generous portions and the owners were very friendly. Would highly recommend

We loved our 3 night stay here. So beautiful sleeping in amongst the rainforest with all the beautiful forest noises. We stayed in a tent with an ensuite. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Great self catering facilities. We saw Cassowary’s here too. Would recommend a stay here for people who love nature and camping and the rainforest.

I really enjoyed my stay here, the bed was comfortable and the mosquito net covered the entire bed easily. I slept well and got up before sunrise to walk the jungle trail where I saw a cassowary and other wildlife. One of the highlights of my holiday. Staff were very helpful as well.

Amazing peaceful location in the forest. So much to do in the area, had an amazing time exploring in my rental car. I loved the private walking track here. Hosts are extremely friendly and kind, I felt very at home. I had the whole four bed dorm to myself for all but one night of my stay. Only things I didn't love were that there are no locks on the cabins and I did have someone accidentally open my cabin door in the night which was scary. Noise from other guests was also an issue at points during my week long stay as sound travels very easily between rooms. For example, from a couple in the adjacent room making "interesting" noises and making the entire cabin shake in the middle of the night. It was a shame to have to wear earplugs when the forest night sounds were so lovely

We had a wonderful 4-day stay at Crocodylus immersed in the Daintree Rainforest. We were made very welcome by Sally and Suz and enjoyed the tasty and filling evening meals. Our forest night walk was interesting and entertaining and we were privileged to have a Cassowary wander by.

From the moment we arrived we loved everything about our stay at Crocodylus. I was travelling solo with 4 teenagers (age 16, 14, twins 13) and was unsure how 2 of them would cope with the standard of accommodation and particularly the limited electricity. I shouldn’t have worried as they all loved it. The accommodation is basic as clearly explained but clean and beds are comfy. We all slept beautifully listening to the rainforest sounds. Waking up to to the sound of rain in the rainforest was very special. Sally was so welcoming, making an effort to remember guests names and cooking delicious home style food at the cafe. Self catering kitchen was much better appointed than I expected and next time we will come better prepared to self catering more. We only stayed 2 nights but were so busy with activities in the area that we all wished we could have stayed longer to chill out more (even the tech obsessed teenagers) . This place is very special and we are keen to revisit. Only downside for us was our early check out time to make an early morning tour and we forgot the electricity doesn’t come on until 7am which did make it a little challenging in the pitch black but that was our poor planning - just a tip to remember if organising morning trips.
