What a fantastic and unique stop! The Daintree Ice Cream Company offers some truly delicious and unusual flavours that you’re unlikely to find anywhere else. We loved trying the more unique options like wattleseed and jackfruit — both were absolutely delicious and full of flavour. We also had two affogatos, pairing the wattleseed ice cream with another unique flavour, and they were incredible — such a perfect treat in the tropical heat. The whole experience felt special, from the beautiful surroundings to the clear passion the team has for showcasing local ingredients. It’s a great way to experience some of the incredible flavours native to the region. Definitely a must-visit if you’re exploring the Daintree — we’re so glad we stopped in!

Really tasty icecream. Whilst they have the classics like chocolate and vanilla, you can also sample the rainforest with more off piste flavours like black sapote. So refreshing. $7.50 for a single flavour cup (generous serve) or $9.50 for cup with their pick of four flavours.

The Daintree Ice-Cream Company is a fantastic stop along Cape Tribulation Road — whether you’re heading north or south, it’s always worth making time for a treat. While our children were the main reason we pulled in, it’s clear this place appeals to all ages. The tropical fruit ice-cream is fresh and full of flavour, and the coffee offerings — including a delicious affogato — make it a great stop for adults too. The setting is beautiful, with well-kept gardens, wide open lawns, and plenty of picnic tables to relax at. There’s also a modern undercover seating area with tables and bar-style seats for those wanting a bit more shade. Adding to the charm, the fruit trees surrounding the area actually grow the tropical produce used in the ice-cream. A relaxing and enjoyable stop that combines great flavours with gorgeous scenery.

The Daintree Ice Cream Company was a worthwhile stop. We arrived right after the shop was opened and had the 4 scoop sampler. Delicious! My favorites were the Wattleseed, Black Sapote and Coconut layered on the bottom. The mango was nice as well. Make sure you stop in here and try this place out!

Google
Such a lovely spot to stop by on your way to Daintree. Unique flavours and all very tropical and natural. Would definitely recommend trying the 4-in-1 special for the day to sample all the flavours.

We stopped by Daintree Ice Cream Company on our way back from a Daintree Rainforest tour, and it was a lovely surprise. The property is set among tropical fruit trees, and you can even spot some of the fruits used in their ice creams growing nearby. It’s a popular stop for tour groups! Their signature cup includes four seasonal flavors that change regularly—we had mango, coconut, wattleseed, and black sapote (which reminded me of cheeku from India). All were delicious—flavorful, fresh, and not overly sweet, which I personally appreciated. A great way to try something local and tropical. Definitely recommend making a quick stop if you’re in the area!

Google
Fabulous ice cream - you can tell they use fresh and healthy ingredients. Very unique and interesting flavors. Some of the best ice cream I've had!

Google
Lots of parking and efficient service. You can get a cup with one type of ice cream for 7.50, or a cup with 4 kinds (coconut, wattleseed, jack fruit and passionfruit) for 9.50. We got thr four flavour and shared - it is big enough to share. We liked the jack fruit the most, but enjoyed all the ice cream.

Yelp
great quality ice cream. you get to choose four flavors. i enjoyed the wattleseed which is a native fruit and tastes similar to hazelnut. it is also located in a beautiful spot with a view of the orchard allowing for a lovely ambiance

Yelp
Any ice cream joint in the middle of a Rain Forest when it's 97 Fahrenheit outside will always get my vote. Thing is, the place also looks pretty. You get almost all the flavors they have in one order cause that's how the serve it(see pic). This have an earthy taste . They are coconut, black sapote it's like chocolate flavored fruit, Wattleseed is like water down hazelnut, and passion fruit. The stand out is coconut- the others were fine. They also have a fruit garden in the back.

Yelp
I loved the concept of this place, with all the exotic fruit trees they use to make the ice cream growing right out front, but I was very disappointed in their lack of non-dairy options. This place isn't a creamery, really -- it's more of a place that makes sorbets. Sorbets and fruit gelatos are dairy-free by default, and given this place is drawing people in based on its exotic fruits, I'm really surprised that everything they offer has dairy in it. The only non-dairy choice they had was a pre-packaged mango sorbet, not one of their homemade ones. Not happy Jan. They really should work on creating more non-dairy sorbets with all their exotic fruit trees. That way, they could cater to vegans and lactose-intolerants (60% of the earth's population is lactose-intolerant, after all) and no one would even know because sorbets naturally do not have dairy in them anyway. And their more "ice cream" (non-sorbet) -style ones could easily use coconut milk instead of dairy milk. Would fit in more with the tropical vibe here anyway. I came here with my parents and was stuck with my pre-packaged mango sorbet (nice but uninspiring.) My parents tried the cup of 4 scoops. My mom enjoyed the wattleseed and plum. My dad said he would've preferred plain chocolate. It was great to walk around the place and look at all the interesting trees. They gave us a little booklet that told us what the different plants were, and there were plenty I'd never heard of (abiu, marang, rollinia). All looked delicious and I wish they sold a raw fruit sampler of some kind!

Yelp
First off, it's not quite ice cream...it's more of gelato and sorbet had a secret tryst. Now, that's cleared up this place was a pleasant stop for many reasons. 1) the story behind the local flavors was a good tidbit 2) everything was basically a local flavor 3) it forces some to step out of their confront zone and enjoy the local flavors of the Daintree/port douglas/ rainforest area Today's flavors were *Jack fruit- the flavor of juicy fruit gum (btw) *Mango *Soursop-aka Guyabano for all the Asians *Wattleseed- a mocha/hazelnut favor but the wattle seed fruit/flower is green and gold aka the Australian team colors () They also encourage you to all around the orchard and see the locally sourced fruit used for the days flavors. It's was a great way to end the rainforest adventure. Make it the last stop before heading back to Port Douglas, to end the excursion with a sweet taste in your mouth. But don't take my word for it! Try it Out!!

Yelp
Big thumbs down for the flavor assortment here. Our tour took us here, and the guide hyped up the exotic flavors you can try here... which they better be, at a pricetag of $7.50 for a small cup. When we arrived, the flavors on offer included some very interesting ones like yellow sapote (egg fruit) and Davidson's plum (a special fruit of the Australian rainforest) While standing in the long line, they erased those flavors and replaced them with quite a bit more boring ones... I believe it was chocolate (or was it coconut?), vanilla, passionfruit, and jackfruit. (While I do like passionfruit... it is not so hard to find, unlike the other ones that we had no chance of trying. Everything else on this menu can be found at any of the gelato shops around here... for a lot less money. That leaves only jackfruit as an interesting -- but not very enticing -- flavor to try.) Not worth wasting time in the oldest rainforest in the world just to spend way too much $$ on quite ordinary flavors.

Yelp
Good ice cream. They have something like 4 or 5 flavors available at any one time, and you can get a sampler plate containing all the flavors. My favorite was the wattleseed. It tasted a little like coffee. Of the two ice cream places in the area, I thought this one was the better one, mainly because the flavors are stronger and more unique and the consistency of the ice cream is smoother.

Yelp
I would give a million stars to this place if I could, definitely top ice cream experience of all time. $6.50 for a cup of 4 scoops, all tropical fruit flavors, whatever she decides. Cash only. Not bad really compared to the $8 for two scoop Gelato back in the city. We drove in at 6pm, right when we saw the staff put up the ""Closed" sign. I guess I looked sad enough that she didn't mind serve us 3x of the yummiest soursop / passion fruit / plum and wattle weed (the only meh one) combo. It so good. It tastes legit with the amazing fruit flavors (supposedly 60/40 ratio) but not excessively sweet or creamy. She mixes in some of the seeds too to give them all their own unique tastes and textures. Boy sure how to explain how real the fruit tastes are except that you must try for yourself. The best part was being able to tour the gardens and see (and touch and poke at) exactly what you just ate, and some other stuff. Them humongo jackfruit though. She didn't mind giving us a quick explanation and tour even though she closed up shop. Definitely a fun trip for my tastebuds! Must do for summer days after a humid walk in the rainforest.

Yelp
Their ice cream is sooooo good. They grow all their fruit there and make the ice cream in house. They give you this amazing four (small ish) scoop tasting of the four flavors of the day which is definitely what you should order instead of just one. The day I went they had wattleseed (my favorite of the four), Davidson plum (tart and yummy), mango (nice sorbet), and coconut (sweet and creamy). I devoured it so fast. So good!

Yelp
Great stop on the way to Daintree! The staff was very friendly and helpful with asking for directions. The store makes their ice cream in different flavors from their fruit farm (which is open to customers to wander). My only complaint was that there's only one option to purchase: a sample of the four daily flavors. My boyfriend and I loved the macadamia nut flavor!

Victor G.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the unique fruits/flavors, including coconut, mango, among others I can't remember. Don't know why a prior reviewer is complaining of the lack of non-dairy ice creams.... you are in the middle of the rainforest. Be thankful for the delicious flavors available. If not tolerable to your diet, move on.

Yelp
Overpriced and a complete tourist trap but it was damn good and recommend going. They have tons of unique tropical flavors to choose from, many of which I never heard of or seen in my life. All of the ice cream is fresh and comes from fruits in their orchid so is seasonal. Each day they offer customers a cup with 4 different flavors of ice cream. Unfortunately you don't get a choice of what you want to eat but rather a tasting of all 4 they have that day. Have your $6 bucks ready because the lines get long when tour buses stop and they operate quite quickly - one might call them unfriendly. I remember we had wattle seed, banana, black sapote, and one other - everything was incredible. Unique experience and refreshing stop on your drive out of the daintree. Have a quick look around the property, very beautiful.

Yelp
As the prior reviewer mentioned, definitely an overpriced tourist trap. Unfortunately we didn't think the ice cream was so good. We had the raspberry, macadamia, wattleseed, and passion fruit flavors (no choice). They were all fairly icy and lacking in the creamy richness or strong flavors we were hoping for.

Yelp
You get 4 flavors for $6, that's it, no choosing or picking only 1or 2. Actually a smart idea since it forces you to try new flavors. Wattleseed was the best, tasted like coffee, also very much liked the jackfruit, very creamy. All freshly made, no preservatives. Pretty grounds.

Yelp
We have been calling in for years and the ice cream has always been good with interesting flavours as the other reviewers stated no choices but that's the beauty of being in a relatively remote location but tasting what is in season or available. The prices are fair for the natural flavours from the orchard onsite.

Yelp
Loved visiting this place. I love the unique/local flavours and that you can walk around the orchard. I love that they take advantage of what's in season. There's a reason all the locals recommend this place. The only thing I might have liked better is that the ice cream was not freshly scooped, it was pre-scooped. It was still good, but could have been that tiny bit better.
