I loved the concept of this place, with all the exotic fruit trees they use to make the ice cream growing right out front, but I was very disappointed in their lack of non-dairy options.
This place isn't a creamery, really -- it's more of a place that makes sorbets. Sorbets and fruit gelatos are dairy-free by default, and given this place is drawing people in based on its exotic fruits, I'm really surprised that everything they offer has dairy in it. The only non-dairy choice they had was a pre-packaged mango sorbet, not one of their homemade ones. Not happy Jan.
They really should work on creating more non-dairy sorbets with all their exotic fruit trees. That way, they could cater to vegans and lactose-intolerants (60% of the earth's population is lactose-intolerant, after all) and no one would even know because sorbets naturally do not have dairy in them anyway. And their more "ice cream" (non-sorbet) -style ones could easily use coconut milk instead of dairy milk. Would fit in more with the tropical vibe here anyway.
I came here with my parents and was stuck with my pre-packaged mango sorbet (nice but uninspiring.) My parents tried the cup of 4 scoops. My mom enjoyed the wattleseed and plum. My dad said he would've preferred plain chocolate.
It was great to walk around the place and look at all the interesting trees. They gave us a little booklet that told us what the different plants were, and there were plenty I'd never heard of (abiu, marang, rollinia). All looked delicious and I wish they sold a raw fruit sampler of some kind!
