Exploring Aboriginal culture in Far North Queensland - SilverKris
"An ancient, UNESCO World Heritage-listed rainforest renowned for extraordinary biodiversity — within a tiny area there are more plant species than in much larger regions — and for its spiritual importance to local Aboriginal clans. The landscape ranges from mangrove-edged tidal flats to towering rainforest that meets the sea near the Great Barrier Reef; cultural interpretation here emphasizes sustainable harvesting, Dreamtime creation stories, and the retention of language and ritual despite colonial disruption." - Catherine Best
By the numbers: Wildlife-spotting around the world - SilverKris
"A northwest-of-Cairns tropical rainforest considered the oldest tropical rainforest in the world, this ancient habitat is home to distinctive wildlife such as the spotted cuscus and the vivid azure kingfisher, offering visitors a chance to experience primeval rainforest biodiversity." - Delle Chan
This place is a must see! It left us gobsmacked. U have to see Daintree with your own eyes. There is so much to see and we were really sad we had to leave😔 We'll be back soon, and we can't wait tojdive back into the lush green forest👍️

Beautiful park with access to the oldest rainforest in the world. Great visitor center with shopping store. Easy access to buy tickets for the shuttle that takes you inside the park on a 10 minutes ride. No cars allowed. Please bring lot of water if visiting. The trails are well kept and most of the beginning of the walking path accessible. More deep into the rainforest you'd need better shoes. Bring swimsuit to jump into the swimming area.

Beautiful national park with lush forests, rivers and beaches (although crocs makes swimming not recommended!). Driving in a 4wd crossing rivers and swimming in river lakes was a great experience.

Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. Having had the chance to see it with my own eyes is such a blessing. Australian nature is amazing, but up here in the Daintree it takes another mile.

A marvellous rainforest and must see if visiting Cairns. We went on a tour that included a river cruise, walking tour and lunch. We even got to swim in a small lagoon.

Did this all on a tour, amazed at all the varieties of birds, insects, and even saw some crocodiles. We did a river cruise, and walking treks. Worth visiting

The national park and walks were nice. We also saw discovery center which could have ben skipped . basically, you pay $100/family to see similar trees and plants but with added pictures, caged insects and snakes and some digital experience. Good for those who would love to know more. But you can save money and time and instead relax on their beaches and do other walks.
