We booked for 2 nights but then ended up only staying 1, and found alternative accommodation elsewhere. The room was okay but definitely needs a deep clean. The shower was dirty and so were the kitchenware in the room. The staff member was nice enough but the whole place seemed really run down. We used the outdoor BBQ for dinner, knowing that places close early or are booked. The BBQ was pretty gross and hadn't been cleaned in a while.

Room cleanliness and maintenance was pretty crap... screen held on to the door with sticky tape, carpet very old and quite filthy, kitchen clean on the outside but all the cupboards and draws dirty inside. No tea tea towel or face washer. Coffee/tea jar had rusty lid and it was all stale inside. Linen floor in dining area and beds/linen was clean, but windows, blinds, walls, under beds all very dusty. Found an old, mouldy bra and old child's dummy from past guests under the edge of the bed when I reached down to get something I had dropped.....Bleach stains on towels..... Toasters old and stained/dirty... Fridge rusty and wobbled/tipped forward every time you open it, and they had a vase on top that nearly fell on me (lucky I caught it). Very lacking in most basic cutlery or mugs for coffee/tea.....I grew up here for 20 years and did housekeeping at two of the local resorts as my first jobs, so understand more than most the challenges of housekeeping in the tropics; the maintenance on this place has slipped well below acceptable even given those challenges. Staff were super nice but owners need to spend some money as most of the cleaning issues seemed to stem from lack of maintenance/age of the furnishings. A shame because the room sizes and beautiful location have real potential to be a great place.

We had one night booked here, we walked in and walked straight back out to find alternative accommodation. The pool is still out of order, as we were walking to our room, every other room looked like they had been tossed around and the mattresses were disgusting. You couldn't open the fly screen to get in to the room and they were falling apart, so wouldn't have kept any bugs out. The room was dark and not inviting and had no air-conditioning. I've stayed at better backpackers before, and despite the good location, we ended up driving back to Cape trib to stay somewhere else for the night

Location: Excellent.
Manager: Cameron was really helpful and really tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible, and Kody (dog) was just adorable.
Facilities: Poor. Pool pump broken, BBQ broken (gas burner was made available), Water - not working multiple times (quickly restored by manager), Hot water - non existent - dirty dishes in cupboard - had to boil the kettle.
Overall: run down and needs a lot of work.

Perfect Location. Best night sleep listening to the Rainforest sounds.
Made dinner in the well equipped BBQ area. Rooms are spacious and very clean.
Very little to no phone reception but not needed as there is so much nature to “tune into”.
Great stay and will recommend to everyone.

We - me, my sister and my father - stayed at the Daintree Rainforest Motel for three nights and have enjoyed every second of it to the fullest! The place has this authentic jungle feel. The manager, Cameron and his dog Kodie are truly amazing! The rooms are specious and modern, but can use a little more tlc maintenance wise. Looking at what the new manager already managed to do (on his own with no staff) to the place in only a few months time is impressive! He has a real heart for the place, making it feel like a home away from home. In the evening we sat together with other guests, chatting our time away and made friends for life.
I would go back!

We stayed for two nights. The location of the motel was convenient to Daintree Rainforest Discovery Centre, boardwalks and Cow Bay. The kitchenette had all the basic items and there was a BBQ in an undercover gazebo with dining tables and chairs. There are two public areas that you can retreat to read or watch TV.||||Our room was comfortable, but could be cleaner as we found dirt under the sofa bed. The swimming pool was a little cloudy, but we were still able to swim in it.

Stayed 3 days recently, room was super comfortable and clean, with microwave, kettle, fridge, etc. We utilised the bbq facilities in the garden gazebo. The lovely host, Em gave us helpful tips and map of Daintree. We really loved the feel of this small motel/retreat. Of course, due to Covid the area was very quiet, and sadly some businesses were closed, but what a beautiful part of Australia.
