"Continuing deeper into the rainforest, it's time to veer slightly inland toward Daintree River Cruise Centre. See the forest from a new perspective, and keep an eye out for crocs. Operated by the Lafferty family since 1987, the company has an advanced ecotourism certification and its guides boast an encyclopedic knowledge of local flora and fauna. In addition to crocodiles, other critters who call this area home include green pythons, platypus, kangaroos, and 430 bird species." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Relaxing cruise. We only went for an hour, but we were lucky enough to spot a couple of crocs. The guide was very informative and was very helpful in getting us as close as possible to get a good pic.

Great experience we had with Daintree River Cruise Centre. The staff members were very informative, and knowledgeable about not just the crocs but the overall environment. We were luck enough to see one female just chilling by the muddy banks at the start of the cruise. Most of the journey were on the Daintree river, however we did a detour to a smaller stream to see some mangroves. The boat we were on was reasonably comfortable. Although full, but did not feel crowded. Overall recommended.

We went at the wrong time of year. January. We saw no crocs, no animals at all except for 4 fruit bats. We have them in Sydney. Wanted to rate better, but had to when we were unlucky with the animals. Staff were friendly, but our guide could have talked more than us having awkward silence , especially returning leg quiet for 20 mins. It was also disappointing to hear chatter on CB, where another operator made comments to our guide that were racist and derogatory... referring to his guests as "extra Cricket Hands"... slang for Indians, most of the people on our tour. Our operator didn't respond changing the topic (we could see the other man who was laughing)

Excellent guide. Very informative and friendly. We saw a giant crocodile and a mother and her nest! Feel privileged to be at the oldest forest!

We were hoping to see a crocodile or two but unfortunately they seemed to be hiding. Some people saw a baby in the mangroves. Our guide did her best and she was very knowledgeable.

The Daintree River Cruise offers an unforgettable experience through the heart of one of the most ancient rainforests in the world. The boat was comfortable and well-maintained, making the journey smooth as we glided along the river. The staff were knowledgeable and enthusiastic, sharing fascinating facts about the wildlife and ecosystem. The boat driver was exceptional, skillfully navigating the waters and pointing out crocodiles, birds, and other wildlife with precision. Their ability to spot animals that we would have otherwise missed added a lot of value to the trip. However, one thing to keep in mind is the presence of mosquitos. Without DEET, it’s easy to become a target for bites, so make sure to bring mosquito repellent to stay comfortable during the cruise. Despite this, the overall experience was excellent, and the professionalism of the team stood out throughout the journey.

At first I was a bit sceptic about it as I saw they put 40 people on a boat ..and iam a solo traveler doing my thing. But it was actually quiet fun and the skipper was explaining a lot , so people were quiet and listened. With his funny and relaxed style the skipper quickly got all of us excited to be the first to spot a crocodile (was the first tour at the day). I selected this because at that date /time it was low tide. Actually that was a smart thought ..as the banks were free. But on the other side this also means that all skippers on that river just now figure out where the gems are..so tours ahead might see more. But not guaranteed , as many animals move and hide. So the skipper nearly put that boat on a sandbank trying to give us view on a big croc at a low river tide. Awesome guy. He shouted once when we needed to get off the sandbank to have everyone sit down as no one listened (or understands this dialect haha) but that was important and correct , as he brought us all back safe that way. So I really avoid crowds , but that was fun !

Fantastic cruise with a cracking tour guide. We managed to see two baby crocs and two adult females as well as lots of bats! All our questions were answered and it was super peaceful to be out on the water. I think it would've been worth it even if you didn't see any crocs as the landscape is beautiful

Yelp
No trip to the Daintree is complete without a river cruise in search for the illusive crocodiles. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating details about the local ecosystem. We didn't see any croc. Sad day. Did you know that the Daintree River is home to over 30 species of mangroves, some of which are among the most diverse in the world? Did you know crocodiles are ancient reptiles that have been around for nearly 200 million years!

Yelp
Hmmmmm . . . . .maybe I was expecting more from this but it seemed just okay to me. You board a boat and for an hour it goes along the Daintree River. You might see a crocodile or two but then again you may not. It's really the luck of Mother Nature. On my trip, as we were docking, a croc came by and opened up one baleful eye at us and then disappeared under the water again. But that was pretty much all we saw. I was hoping for some beautiful flowering trees, birds, something? Anything? The guide was friendly and interesting. And given our boat was pretty empty you could walk around and stand out on the bow of the boat for a better look I guess I was just expecting to see more. But then again, it's not a Disney ride but Mother Nature so you get what she gives that day. Oh well. It was a nice day for a boat ride.

Yelp
A beautiful spot on the river with a lovely garden and really cool insect display. The guides are fun and knowledgeable; they are good with kids and manage to find even the smallest baby crocs.

Yelp
It's an hour cruise down the daintree river for $28 a head. In the dry season, the crocs are all lying on the banks sunning themselves so luckily you'll see them but don't expect to see much action. Our guide was friendly and jokey, although he didn't seem to know many facts about the crocs. We definitely advise wearing insect repellant on this cruise as we were covered with awfully itchy bites from biting midges once we got off.

Yelp
Every time I visit far north Queensland I make sure I visit the wonderful people at the Daintree River Cruise Centre. Staff are knowledgeable and well organised and the scenery spectacular. Great for children and adults... you may even get to pat a green tree frog!

Yelp
After 10 years living in the area I had never taken a boat tour of the majestic Daintree River. Last school holiday while trying to keep the little ones entertained we did just that. Was so happy we chose The Daintree River Cruise Centre. We saw unique flora and fauna, species of mangroves and orchids I had never seen before. We also saw beautiful birds and had a green tree frog on the boat. The kids were in awe with Crocs, they were so close. It was amazing to see them in their natural environment. We were lucky enough to see Scarface, the big boss of the river. Our boat driver/tour guide was both knowledgeable and friendly and the ladies in the shop provided refreshments to all the guests. The kids and I loved the experience. I would defiantly recommend it to both locals and visitors.

Yelp
Went on a 1 hour river cruise to kill the time while we waited to check in to our hotel in Port Douglas. A ride was 25 Dollars. The scenery is magnificent. Spotted a baby croc!!! As it was summer the cross spend a lot of time on top of the water. Guide Nick was knowledgeable and fun. Boat experience was awesome quite rugged at one point we ran into some foliage and a nest of green ants fell off and landed on me. One them bit me before I realized they were on me and the rest of the passengers started whacking them off while my husband laughed. Don't worry they didn't hurt too much. Our guide told us you could eat there bums and they tastes like lemon so in return for laughing I made my husband eat ant bum :). All in all a great trip and a nice quick way to experience some of the rainforest if you don't have a lot of time.
