If you're looking for unique tastes or hybrid style of food here it is! My tea was like drinking a bowl of warm fruity pebbles, it sounds odd but that's the best way to describe this drink! A nice little brunch date or get together with 4 people place! The overgrown industrial look about this place is so cool, I LOVE it. Drinks are always the best part for me here! The food is very unique you forget where you are like you should be out at a bigger city out of state!

A great add on to South Bend since I left. I got the mole tacos with a fried egg. It was delicious! Did not at all taste like traditional mole though. But it was still very good, especially the pickled onions and greens.

I’ve been to plenty of food halls, and this is absolutely NOT it. First off, it’s not even a real food hall. You sit at a table and order everything through a QR code from different “vendors,” so it just feels like a confused restaurant with commitment issues. There was a musty smell when I walked in that lingered until I went nose-blind to it. But the real problem? The food made me physically sick within 30 minutes of eating. I ordered a gruyere croissant (greasy, but edible) and a pork katsu dish with soft scrambled eggs and rice. The sauce on the katsu was revolting—tasted like bad tartar sauce—and the pork was fatty and low quality. I ate maybe a quarter of it before stopping. By the time I got back to my hotel, I was nauseated and ended up vomiting. I travel monthly from Chicago to South Bend for grad school and was excited to finally try something off campus. Huge mistake. There are so many better places downtown—don’t waste your money here. Only reason it’s getting 2 stars instead of 1: I grabbed a goat cheese bagel to go that sounds promising. TBD when my stomach recovers from the trauma it just endured. Staff was kind. Food and atmosphere? Absolutely not.

Google
The atmosphere is very relaxing and the food and coffee so delicious. I’ve been here twice and enjoyed both experiences. I love their mini waffles and breakfast croissant sandwich. Their lattes are the best I’ve had. It’s a nice place to come alone and work on a laptop too.

I’ve only had good experiences at Dainty Maid. I love the food hall setup with different restaurant options. The online ordering system is very convenient. Best of all, the food is fantastic. There are so many unique options that I’ve never seen anywhere else. My favorites are the latkes and the savory Dutch baby (pictured). The coffee is excellent as well (pictured: black stag). The quality is absolutely worth the price. My husband and I are making a tradition of getting Dainty Maid brunch every time we’re in town, so I’ll definitely be back!

Google
Absolutely exceptional food. Server was kind and a borderline therapist while I complained about my morning.Savory Dutch baby was so good and the carrots were cooked perfectly, not too squishy.

Google
I ordered the Fried Chicken Caesar Croissant from The Breakfast Club and it was absolutely delicious! The hall is quite busy at peak hours and the service is a bit hit or miss. Despite our table all placing our orders at the same time, the food came out sporadically and we had to check with staff multiple times. In short, delicious food, lacking service.

Google
If you are in South Bend, Indiana… it is a must to stop in to check-out the Dainty Maid Food Hall!!! We had a party of nine, and they were very accommodating. Some people in our group wanted breakfast and some wanted lunch and this was a great place to go. The food was exceptional with many different options to choose from!! The staff was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was inviting. There was flexibility on ordering. You can order from your table using the QR code or by walking up to the counter and placing your order. It is definitely a place to check out!! LOVED IT! ❤️

Yelp
I cannot express how much I crave brunch from Dainty Maid. I think about it at least once a week, not even kidding! So, when I was craving the Lemon Poppyseed Dutch Baby, an over hard egg, and a side of potatoes, I ordered pick up; I couldn't resist the craving any longer. When I went in to pick my order up, I was able to get helped super quick, and the staff were super friendly! The concept itself is really cool, and I like that they have kept the ambiance and history of the building! Highly recommend. This is for real one of the top breakfast/brunch spots in South Bend!

Yelp
We just got espresso drinks and a pastry but they were fantastic. Our orders came somewhat quickly for how busy they were. The specialty latte for restaurant week was phenomenal, I've never tasted anything like it. We didn't get any meal like food but the food looked great from the people around us.

Yelp
Dainty Maid Food Hall located right at downtown South Bend. It is a place that house a variety of businesses and you can order from any of those options. Plenty of dining table toward the front, the bakery display and bar seating tuck toward the back. They also offer event space. Once you settle down, you can order via the QR code and browse through all the business that is available. If you need help, the server also be there to help you navigate around. They will also deliver the food to your table once it is ready. The Breakfast Club menu is quite interesting, including with some Asian and Mexican infused menu items. I went with a bowl of Breakfast Ramen and a cup of Channel Orange from Revenant Coffee Bar. There is so many ingredient getting pack up in a medium size bowl. The braised thick cut pork belly is well marinated and the broth is slightly lean toward on the sweeter side. Breakfast Ramen | Braised thick cut pork belly, crispy pork dumpling, green onion, bok choy, shitake mushroom, ramen spice, sunny side up egg Hong Kong French Toast | Grilled fig jam and peanut butter layered French toast, condensed milk, powdered sugar

Yelp
Wow! I've been curious to try this place for quite sometime now, and I was truly just blown away by what I had been missing! Dainty maid is very cool concept of multiple small restaurant businesses organized in one location. It's a food hall, yet you sit down and order from one menu. The vibe- Dainty Maid gives Hipster/Foodie/power lunch/ coffee house kinda vibes all in one lol. Im guessing that's the intention. ( My group was a mix of adults 18-45 and kiddos) The service- Super friendly, and helpful! Note: There is no physical menu. The waitress explained clearly we accessed all the restaurants from a website QR code. It was very easy to use! The food- each item was prepared in the open concept kitchens. Our group chose from multiple options including the ( not sure on restaurant names unfortunately) Mexican food, breakfast foods and smash burgers. All foods were hot and exceptionally made. Our stand outs were: Quesabirria tacos- holy cow, whoever made these....understood the assignment. The meat was so flavorful and moist. The tacos were so cheesy and crispy. The birria consommé was delicious! Beer battered fries - absolutely perfect crispy hot heaven! Butter chicken wrap- My daughter stated she was in love with the sauce and chicken was just amazing! Smash burger deluxe- My other daughter literally ate every bite of this enormous exceptional burger. She said the patties were thin and seasoned well as a perfect smash burger should be. Eggs and sausage ( side orders for a picky 7 yr old in our group)- dainty maid does not have a kids menu per se, but they do have sides that work great! The seven yr old ate every bite of her sides! We will recommend this place over and over again to friends and family!

Yelp
We were in town for a Notre Dame football game and my beautiful and smart fiancé discovered this place for brunch. We came in Sunday morning and had an awesome time. What a cool idea for a place and executed perfectly. We loved the food and drinks. The Bloody Mary (not pictured... oops) was completely original and super dilly. Service was dope and tables turned over quickly. The soup dumplings were completely unique. The carrot Dutch baby was unlike anything I've ever had and super interesting. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Dainty Maid is ever changing. It's one of my favorite places to visit while I'm in SB. Everyone orders the same way- through a QR code on each table. There are servers but they are mainly "food runners". They do not take your order. They run your food out to you. This is easy for large groups- everyone orders for themselves and pays for themselves:) There's a few things from each food spot. I'd love to see a rotating monthly "guest" chef/restaurant! Right now it's mainly breakfast and lunch. With a full bar, I'd love to see dinner offered here as well. It's more of a burger, tacos, pics place than a nice sit down "dinner". Definitely grab your friends to come meet here!

Yelp
SMASHED - wow! Will 100% be leaving a 5 star review for smashed. The service, food options, and ambiance of the Dainty Maid Food Hall NEVER misses. One of our favorite spots in South Bend with options to feed any craving!

Yelp
This place is a South Bend hidden gem. Such an amazing menu, they have everything. Great service too.
google avatar

Kendall C.

Yelp
The food was good but everything is ordered online and brought to your tables. The staff was friendly. It's nice because there are multiple food options to choose from but not all of them were open when I went.

Claudio D.

Yelp
Very good breakfast choices. Not the traditional american breakfast. More gourmet. They also have very good coffee

Yelp
The food hall is in former Early Bird, which is a really cool space. Glad that it has remained a restaurant. Interesting concept, which I am sure lots of people will enjoy. Once you get a table you scan the QR code and can begin your order from your phone. This can be tricky if you are picking up the tab for more than 2 people. Okay as a single order. Food was okay, maybe not worth the price. Our food was average. 50/50 from our group of four. This will succeed because I think it appeals to the college age and young adults. Just not my thing.

Yelp
Excellent, well-executed concept! There are multiple vendors located in the Dainty Maid Food Hall - Pink Lemonade Pastries, The Breakfast Club, Beard & the Boss and Hall Pass. We stopped in on a recent Sunday for brunch. It's seat yourself, but we were greeted and explained the process for ordering. Everything is available through the QR code and you can order from any of the available places, pay online and food / drinks is coordinated and delivered to your table when ready. We loved the latkes from the Breakfast Club and breakfast burrito from Beard & the Boss, but honestly, everything on both menus sounded amazing. Love that both think creatively and have items you won't find anywhere else in the area.

Rosie H.

Yelp
Kinda weird! -Seat yourself -Must order on their website! -There are no menus Delicious! Pork and rice bowl - so crispy and the sauce was delicious Clean and cute ambiance Critiques Breakfast Croissant Sandwich - good but too tall to bite and fell apart - It would be better deconstructed

Bob T.

Yelp
Amazing food! Great variety and well designed tasty food offerings! Very friendly place for everyone

Yelp
Cool concept.. good food.. just be prepared to eat at different times if your party doesn't order from the same vendor... my fiancé was finished with his breakfast before mine was served..

D R.

Yelp
First and last time here. Service was non-existent when we walked in. Having never been here we didn't know what to do. After clearing the previous people's dishes ourselves from the table, I had to go to the bar to get our own waters. Ordered off a QR code menu online and they want you to add a tip at the time of the order - which completely defeats the purpose of a tip (intended for service or experience above and beyond). And at that point, what am I tipping for? Bussing my own table and getting my own waters? Took 40 minutes for 2 burgers and fries to come out, neither of which was worth the $20 menu price. Sad to say it was a terrible experience and we won't be back.

Yelp
Yum yum yum! A little pricy but SO worth it! Different way of ordering which we all didn't mind. Scan order pay tada ordee shows up. Good service. They were BUSY when we were there buy we still had great service. The breakfast ramen was so fabulous- savory and slurpy and doen right wonderful! The orange brulee I wanted to like it. It tasted good but very difficult to eat.

Yelp
What a tremendous addition to downtown South Bend. I spent a few hours here during a recent visit enjoying coffee, the setting, remote working and lunch. I was able to conveniently order all of my food and drinks from the comfort of my table via the QR code. I was impressed that they had such a streamlined way to purchase from the varying businesses in one transaction. Inside this small but mighty food hall you'll find a coffee shop, pastries, global fusion and modern comfort food. I enjoyed my festive fall latte and pork pozole soup. I was also eyeing the breakfast ramen - it appears to be a crowd favorite in the reviews. For the warmer months, they also have patio seating available. Congrats to the visionaries and businesses involved. Way to think big for the future of SB.

Nichole I.

Yelp
You can't find a better ambience in downtown South Bend! It's a great place to meet up with friends and enjoy a meal together. The food is delicious.

Yelp
Great weekend brunch/study location! Plenty of seating with access to outlets. Lots of sweet and savory options through the different vendors. I got an endless coffee $5.50 (option for endless non-dairy milk and syrups for 0.50-0.75c extra) and a savory pear dutch baby. Staff are friendly and come by to top off my coffee at a reasonable pace. Lots of large groups and families coming in for a weekend brunch.

Yelp
We had a great experience here X2! We actually came back two days in a row to enjoy because we couldn't make up our minds on what to order! Everything was delish, the service and atmosphere were on point! Really neat concept with a vast variety of goodies, savory eats & drinks! I wish we had a Dainty Maid in Texas!
google avatar

Cara F.

Yelp
The food was as fantastic as it looks! The lady who took care of us was quick and friendly. The atmosphere was cozy and cool inside this old bakery. I loved it.
google avatar

Jason C.

Yelp
Once you get through a unique ordering process, the food was great. Everyone at the table was happy with quality, quantity and value of their food. The great part there are several different vendors and choices with a large group. The service was perfect. The place was clean. We will be back
google avatar

Cindy E.

Yelp
The concept of the restaurant is great and very interesting, I liked having the option to order from different vendors and still being able to be served at a table. We ordered a variety of different food like the breakfast ramen, egg sando, egg biscuit and gravy and the French toast but in my opinion the food was not worth the price. The drinks from the coffee shop were excellent, we had an iced chai latte with pumpkin foam and a hot pumpkin head. I would go again for the coffee shop but not for the food.

Yelp
We hosted the welcome dinner for our wedding at Dainty Maid this past October, and we truly can't recommend them enough! Sam was absolutely amazing to work with, and she really took the time to understand our vision and bring it to life. The food was fantastic (our guests were raving about it), as were the drinks, and the atmosphere was just perfect. It's honestly such a beautiful space that it doesn't even need decorating! It was such a special night that we will always remember, and we are so grateful to the amazing team at Dainty Maid for making it a reality! If you're looking for somewhere to host an event, you've found the best place in town.

Yelp
The breakfast was a 10/10. It lasted two full meals for me which was wonderful. It still tasted great even 4 days later. Would get this again.
google avatar

Peter K.

Yelp
Best hidden gem in south bend. The breakfast menu was has down an adventurous experience. Asian fuse with two bars and a pastry shop. Try the ramen. It's worth the drive to south bend.
google avatar

Yelp
First experience in a multi-vendor food hall - incredibly fun experience and loads of delicious food. A really great establishment to have in the South Bend area. Have tried breakfast items, tacos, polish dog, drinks - everything is tasty and fun. We will miss this place for sure now that we are out of town!
google avatar

Britnee C.

Yelp
Absolutely YES. I am loving the fact that food halls are gaining popularity cuz I feel like they're such a good way to let a small business maximize a small space. The way you order is you seat yourself and each table has a number. You order online with your phone and the food is just brought out! If you want to pay with cash, you can pay directly at the vendors spot. The inside of this spot is adorable and I kind of don't want to show anyone any pictures so you can be pleasantly surprised if you've never been before.

Alyssa S.

Yelp
GET THE HONG KONG FRENCH TOAST!!! not a big fan of scanning menus but i don't even care because this place is so good. would recommend asking for your beverages extra hot!

Melinda S.

Yelp
First the good: great concept. 2 beverage vendors, 2 food vendors. Great international selections. If you are looking for a brunch outside the box. Coffee...great! Not watered down or cheap. Staff.. very friendly. Second: our Korean burrito was good but had sauce drizzled on outside of burt making it impossible to eat with your hands. Tots... good but came at the end of our meal. Disappointed that bakery only had a scone and some croissants. Where were the donuts and pastries? Will definitely be back but would like to see some attention to a some of the items.

Alli J.

Yelp
Lots of delicious options available, and really awesome environment. The only thing I don't like is the ordering and payment situation. You have to use a QR code, pay on your phone, and there's really no customer service. If no one explains it before your first visit it can be jarring.

Donna C.

Yelp
Food may be good, wouldn't know Sat down and then tried to order for three people, but it requires 20 min to scroll through a long menu where everything seems to be an add on! What ever happened to full service??? Charging extra for sugar in your coffee? Really???

Randal F.

Yelp
This place is the jewel of flavor bomb! The breakfast ramen has the most flavorful broth I've ever tasted. It's rich, like it was made from hrs of love. It's also very eye appealing. The pork belly ( cha shu ) so good & mushrooms, bok choy friken awesome. Hand down the best Ramen anywhere. Lady Bug ordered the breakfast sandwich & it had so many stages of flavor & quality meats, just speechless. Can't wait to try the rest of menus. Best collection of artisans working w/food.
google avatar

Greg H.

Yelp
Food was great, and atmosphere was fun. We had a DJ for breakfast. I really don't have a single complaint that the restaurant could control. I came in to town for the OSU v. ND game, so there was entirely too many Irish fans there. I loved it though.

Kevin H.

Yelp
If my rating was based exclusively on the food selection and quality it would be a 5. However, when factoring in the overall experience of the "food hall" style there is room for improvement. Upon arrival you're seated and directed to scan a QR code, no menus. Everything on the menu comes from different vendors within the venue, and they're then fetched by your server from said providers. I can tolerate QR menus and online ordering. However, they lost points in compelling a tip upon order placement before service is rendered. Our breakfast took 45 minutes from the time we ordered. My coffee was not refilled or warmed up once during the entire time. For the aforementioned reasons I could only justify a 3/5 stars overall.
google avatar

George G.

Yelp
I love the dainty maid! The ordering system requires using your phone to open the menu and navigate the several restaurants that all have awesome delicious options. I personally love the ordering system but I wish they had more hours open. I guess every customer wants everything to be open at all times and that's life but the days with coffee and no food I would be also coming in to order food if possible. I always forget the schedule so I tend to show up when the food service restaurants are closed. The food and drinks are good, I recommend them and will be returning again and again.

J. M.

Yelp
The food here is off the charts. Went as a family for breakfast on a weekday. Love the vibe. Everything we ordered was delicious. Standouts we're layered potatoes, breakfast ramen, tacos (all from Breakfast Club) and great Bloody Mary fromFood Hall. Such creative food. Highly highly recommend!
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
The atmosphere is amazing. I always feel welcome and the comfort food makes me feel warm and safe. I love that I can order candied pork belly for brunch, a beer and my wife can order a fancy coffee to wash it down while only needing to run my card one time for multiple orders from different businesses. Great food and super convenient. Will definitely become a repeat customer.

Yelp
This was absolutely the worst food I've ever had. We headed to the Dainty Maid for brunch after visiting mass at Notre Dame, eager to try a good local restaurant and were served the worst , uncooked food you could imagine. They don't offer any vegetables, so you can't even try to create a veggie omelette. The menu was basically heart attack inducing food and what was scary was the bartender/ waiter's arm tattoo said " heart attack " ?! Then , we were served the egg , sausage, American cheese english muffin sandwich...raw ! One bite into it and the bright red sausage patty was staring back at me. I showed my husband who ordered the same thing and my husband's was also uncooked. Thank goodness we saw it before we ate more than a bite. We let them know and asked for it to be cooked thoroughly. They had us put our 2 bitten into sausage Pattie's on a small plate, as they were taking them back to the chef to be cooked more. Well, cold eggs aren't very good , so I decided to take a few more bites of my sandwich while waiting for them to finish cooking our sausage Pattie's. 20 minutes later , we just decided to leave, without eating the disgusting food . Now I see why they have you order and PAY before you get your food! They didn't offer new sandwiches, nor a refund. I don't know how this place is in business?! FYI the sandwich also included fried potato patty in it and came with a side of deep fried potato stacks. Zero nutrition value , uncooked pork , fried food. Zero stars from us !

Meg E.

Yelp
Amazing food selection and fantastic coffee and mixed drinks. The vibe is chill and you'll leave happy.

Bella P.

Yelp
fresh, new, creative, and delicious. Dainty Maid is the PLACE TO BE! The new concept food hall adds a youthful glow to south bend. The staff are amazing. The interior is so fun. And of course, the food is absolutely delicious. I've always coke away from dainty maid full and happy. I couldn't recommend this place more
google avatar

Yelp
We love this place. Awesome options. Cool concept. The food is excellent. We always bring our in town guests here for breakfast.

Yelp
Finally got to try out Dainty Maid Food Hall and it did NOT disappoint! We LOVED the latkes which were served with a perfect Hollandaise sauce that was so fluffy and had just right amount of acid. We also loved the Korean bbq chicken sandwich, the Pozole bowl, and the dumplings! Can't wait to try out more from their various menus!

Yelp
The other night a group of us decided to give this place a try. We arrived and we were told to scan the QR code to access the options - one of the reasons I wanted to try this place was the various food options they offered. They have burgers, sandwiches, full bar and even take and bake pizzas. I ordered a burger and they allow you to customize what you want on the burger and unlike other places the beer battered fries were extra. I was ready to complete my order and you had to provide your name, phone number and pay for your order. I was surprised to see they charge 8 cents to use the app which I thought was insulting to the customer and they charged a 20% tip and you hadn't received anything yet. I was one of the first in the group to put in the order and was surprised how quickly it came out. The man came out and placed a small paper bag in front of me and hands me a set of plastic silverware. I look in the bag to see the burger on top of a small container of fries. I open the burger and it doesn't look that great and I take the fries out and for the price it should have been bigger. I had wanted grilled onions on the burger and didn't see any and so I asked about it and the gentleman said he would get me some for me. He came back and said they were in between the two patties and brought me some uncooked onions which I didn't want. My friend who arrived last received his food and his burger looked far better and had double the fries that I did. I'm all for new restaurants and new concepts but I wasn't impressed with spending $26 for subpar food.
