Defo recommend their Sichuan cuisine dinner, very authentic and flavourful! My friends and myself had enjoyed the dinner , the only thing I would feel less positive about was the staffs there are very rushy and quite disturbed in our chat in a non busy evening…. Their service and manner can be improved a lot better by not hurrying us for finishing our dinner!

Tianfu (South Yarra) provided an unforgettable dining experience for our family of three! We ordered several dishes, and each one was a delight. • Spicy Stir-Fried Pork Intestines (5/5): The intestines were impeccably cleaned, fried to perfection with a crispy texture, and packed with an aroma that lingered on the palate. • Sichuan Mouth-Watering Chicken (5/5): Absolutely delicious, with tender chicken and a flavorful sauce. • Stir-Fried Bamboo Fungus with Cured Pork (4.5/5): Fragrant and well-cooked, with a perfect balance of flavors. Not too spicy, making it enjoyable for everyone. • Sour Fish Soup (5/5): Generous portion with a rich and hearty broth that we couldn’t get enough of. • Spicy Stir-Fried Beef (5/5): Incredibly spicy, aromatic, and satisfying – a real treat for spice lovers! The portions were substantial, and the flavors were authentic Sichuan. On top of the amazing food, the restaurant itself is modern, cozy, and spotlessly clean. The staff were attentive and made us feel very welcome. This is definitely one of the best Sichuan restaurants in South Yarra. Highly recommended for anyone who loves bold, authentic flavors!

Here are some pre-renovation photos of Dainty Sichuan, a long-standing favorite for authentic Sichuan cuisine in the more Westernized area of South Yarra. My favorite dish here has to be the chili cold noodles. They’re so simple yet incredibly delicious—just some chili oil and noodles, and you’re good to go. Other dishes I personally enjoy include the hot spicy fried chicken (which is really spicy), fried corn (not for everyone, but I love it), and many of the vegetable dishes. To help balance out the heat, I recommend washing it down with some soy milk or watermelon juice.

Went here for morning dimsum breaky, food wise it were decent, I have seen better elsewhere. Atmosphere were great, strike an impression from entrance to my seats. There are rooms for food improvements, prawn dumpling were soggy, chicken feet’s meat still intact on bones, vital steps were skipped, hey no cut corners ok? Portions wise they are bigger which make up for it I suppose. There are another whole menu with hot dishes that I have discovered, If I’m local I would visit again with bigger family catch-up that just focus on hot dishes on menu, it seems to cater that purpose more than just dimsum. Good job guys.

Yum Cha was disappointing in terms of flavours. Instagram really hyped it up so I went in with high expectations only to be sorely disappointed by the influencers. The highlights were the Malaysian sponge cake and chicken feet which was nice. The century egg congee, steamed prawn rice noodle roll, steamed shrimp dumpling with ginger was average. I wouldn’t order these dishes again. Service was hit and miss. Interior decor was really nice and refurbished. Would I recommend this place? No. Would I return back? Maybe just for the sponge cake.

Just wow! A beautiful venue located in trendy South Yarra! We had the yum cha on the weekend and it exceeded all expectations. What a wonderful experience trying so many different items. Highly recommend a visit.

The signature fish-flavoured eggplant was crispy and good, but too sweet for my taste. I really really liked the traditional double cooked pork. The plates were served quickly and the service was really good, I'd like to come back again and try other dishes.

We went to Dainty Sichuan for our anniversary today! Overall the experience was fine, for the price it was a little underwhelming. (total of $102 for two people) We ordered a vegetarian mapo tofu (they didn't have an option with pork mince and we don't eat beef), steamed chicken with ginger and scallion oil, and liangfen. The service was okay, we wanted to ask how much the lobster mapo tofu would be since we didn't know what the market price for it is nowadays, and they gave us a confusing answer so we didn't end up ordering it. They told us how much it would be per kilo ($256/kg?) and we weren't sure how much would be in the mapo tofu (I tried to clarify this and the waiter said there's about 1kg in the portion which didn't sound right, so we just decided not to get it). The mapo tofu was fine, but didn't stand out as something I would order again necessarily. The liangfen was tasty and the portion size was good, but got a little monotonous after a while of eating it (it's probably better to order this with a large table of people so it can be shared around more). The steamed chicken was very tasty and the ginger scallion oil was nice! Probably my favourite out of the dishes. If we had the budget/tummy space we would have ordered a veggie dish. I would maybe go back with a larger group (and when I have more disposable income/I'm not paying) to try more variety, but tbh I'm a little disappointed and was hoping for a more memorable meal for our anniversary. Oh well!
