We used to really enjoy this restaurant, so we stopped by for a quick lunch on Friday afternoon anround 1.30pm after seeing the advertised lunch special. Unfortunately, the waiter responded very rudely and simply said there was no special lunch offer today because the restaurant was busy. If specials are only offered when convenient, they should not be advertised. The impolite service and misleading promotion were very disappointing. Management should take note, as this experience has completely changed our view. We won’t be returning — there are plenty of excellent Sichuan restaurants that treat customers with respect and deliver their promise. Wasting time

First time here at Dainty On Toorak, and I didn't expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised. We got the Chongqing Chilli Chicken and some Kong Pao, and the chilli chicken was really tasty, had a good kick. I think the staff were super friendly, which always makes a difference, and everything felt smooth. Food came out pretty quick too, which was nice. Good spot for a casual dinner. Pretty good.

Dainty on Toorak is always a good shout. I think I've been here a few times now, and it's pretty consistent. We usually order the Chongqing Chilli Chicken, which was great again – good kick to it. The Fish Flavour Eggplant was also really tasty. Service was smooth and quick, and the staff were friendly, which is always nice. I prefer less oily food personally, but it wasn't too bad this time. Good atmosphere too. Would come back.

Definitely a good spot if you're in the area and looking for some spicy food. It wasn't super fancy, but the food hit the spot. Worth checking out.

I've been to this restaurant four times in the past two weeks, and each visit has been an absolute delight. The food is consistently outstanding—everything we've tried has been full of flavor, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. From appetizers to mains, every dish comes out tasting just right. And the atmosphere is also It’s definitely somewhere I feel confident bringing family or guests—the setting is proper without being overly formal, making it perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. Highly recommend checking it out if you haven’t yet—you won’t be disappointed!

We had a lovely evening as walk ins. The free range Chicken stew with black truffle and Dry stir fried beans with pork mince was fantastic and so yummy. Highly recommend this place.

Food is fantastic- everything we've tried has been delicious, and you can tell the ingredients are fresh and carefully prepared. each dish is bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. We receive exceptional service, especially from one of the staff name lucy. She made our dining experience even more memorable with her friendly and attentive approach. She checked in on us frequently, and made excellent recommendations from the menu. Her service was thoughtful and efficient.
