For the first time in years, I stopped in with family after riding the Heber Creeper. As a rule, I don't eat fast food. It's just not for me. However, the kids were losing their minds and everyone needed a quick bite.
It was absolute madness inside. There were so many people that I have no idea how the staff kept up with orders. Service was excellent. The cashier taking orders is the owner and my third grade teacher. I was delighted to see him still loving life.
The best part? This might be gluten free heaven. I've never been to a burger joint with such an extensive GF menu. It's basically everything. And, because there are celiacs in the owners' family, there are dedicated fryers and gf bread.
I ordered a burger, which was pretty good and didn't fall apart. I wish I'd gone for one of the soups because the weather was perfect for it. I also was able to buy a gf mint Oreo shake. I split it with my partner. So good!!! I can't remember the last time I was able to buy an Oreo shake, especially not having to worry about contamination.
Dairy keen is so busy at dinner time that we had to wait for a table, but there was a cool trainset for the kids to play with. The cool old train around the ceiling is still there, delighting children of all ages.
I would like to see someone out in the lobby cleaning tables more often, but, otherwise, it was a great nostalgic experience.
