DAISO Harajuku (right next to Capsule Lab) is a great place to shop for affordable and practical items. The store is well-stocked with a wide variety of products—from everyday essentials to fun souvenirs—all at very budget-friendly prices. For those from Singapore, you should know the Daiso price in Singapore. Come over to Japan and buy more! It’s quite popular, so expect a lot of customers inside, but it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Google
Much better and greater variety of goods compared to the US locations! Without the upcharge either so everything is actually (most things) $1. They had a whole wall of Sanrio merch and after searching through everything, I decided on a few cute cable bites and washi tape. I wanted to buy all the cute merch but had to resist the urge. Upstairs they had more home merch.

Big Dream

Google
Spacious store, spread over multiple levels, and offers a wide range of products at very affordable prices. Ideally located in the heart of a highly touristy area, it attracts an international shoppers. However, it is important to note that this store does not offer tax-free services for tourists, which can be disappointing for those who were hoping to benefit from this additional savings. 🤔

Google
This place has a wide range of products! It’s very affordable buying stuffs here. Price starts from ¥100!!! A must-visit place when you’re in Harajuku

Spent TWO hours in here, so much to see, with very reasonable prices. Easy to find at the beginning of Harajuku Street.

Daiso is one of my favorite Japanese stores! They have everything you could imagine and so many amazing gadgets and details. If you need anything, or just fun snacks or souvenirs look no further

Yelp
This is how I knew about the 100 yen store. Daiso being a chain and one of the famous that can also be found in America. This store has been here for as long as I remember. It has several floors, lots of stuff! They've been doing a lot of collaborations like hello kitty and friends as well as other famous anime characters. Their stuff is super affordable: quality depends on what you buy. I found a bunch of Pochacco stuff, super happy! They also have utensils, makeup and even earrings if you happen to have forgotten it at home. Lots of gift bags to wrap presents for your friends. Love this place!

Yelp
Located in the Harajuku area, close to the beginning of the Takeshita street, this is quite a large store. It has multi floors of items. You most likely can find something to buy.
google avatar

Yelp
Is this the biggest Daiso in Japan? Not sure, but there are several floors! I got Hello Kitty water and yummy soft milk candy here while checking out Harajuku. While waiting in line to check out, I made an impulse purchase of a bag of roasted chestnuts. Pretty fun shop to check out, especially if you are a fan of Daiso. I love the location and the huge inventory here.

Yelp
Daiso Harajuku, whilst not the largest Daiso, is the most crowded due to the location on the crowded Takeshita Dori. Anyone that is familiar with Daiso knows that is a dollar store type spot that has great touristy type gifts to bring home from vacation in Japan. However, if you spend more time in Harajuku and really look around, you can sometimes find even better, more thoughtful gifts for around the same cost. The store is packed and will cause you to shop quickly due to the crowded nature of the stores and pushy tourist shoppers. But, don't let the crowds bother you and take your time. If you are more into exploring other Daiso shops in Japan, then I recommend searching for other, less crowded locations for a more chill shopping experience. I have found that Diver City Mall in Odiaba has more selection and less shoppers--- even though it is not the largest Daiso. The largest Daiso as of 2020 is Daiso Giga Funabashi branch, which takes up an entire 6 floors.

Yelp
There are many Daiso locations throughout Japan, but we happened to run into this one while we were on the famous Takeshita-dori street in Harajuku. I used to visit Daiso quite frequently when I lived in Taipei City. Honestly, I missed this store a lot because items were affordable, fun, and "sometimes" useful. Let me tell you there have been many impulse buys from Daiso and I didn't know what to do with the stuff. Some of them became souvenirs for the friends and family, while many of them eventually disappeared after a few inter-city and inter-country moves. I often purchased their socks, green tea powders, instant noodles, and oriental-looking charms just to be given out as presents. I remember my mom bought their coffee filters, sponges, slippers, and kitchen utensils whenever she needed to restock on these essentials. "Daiso Harajuku" has three (3) floors. Each floor wasn't spacious, but aisles were fully-loaded with cool knickknacks. I behaved and only got some green tea powders and one (1) bowl of tofu skin soba. I could use some socks as well, yet I decided to hold off since I still had a plenty of them in my messy sock drawer. I made a mistake on walking to the basement floor and didn't realize it was a separate store. Going forward, make sure you pay for the goods sold in Daiso on the first floor before heading to another merchant. I didn't know they were internally connected, though they had individual entrances from the outside. Most items were indeed $100 yens/each, while a number of them could be slightly more expensive or cheaper. Look for the signs for pricing details.

Yelp
My favorite store ever!!! I really wish back at the states had Daiso that only cost about $1 and less per item! Back home, each item is about $1.50 plus tax. It may not seem enough but if you splurge $50 it would be $25 more in the states! Anyways, I have visited so many Daiso's and I never get disappointed! Love all the variety of snacks, matcha tea, green tea, seasoning, noodles, socks, toys, etc.
google avatar

Joanne E.

Yelp
This is one of the larger Daiso stores, with three value-packed floors to explore! It's hard to believe how many of their items cost only 100 yen each, especially when you see the same or similar items priced much higher at other stores. You can find almost anything you need here, such as cooling wipes, hand fans, sunscreen, and beautiful Japanese hair ties and clips for hot and humid Tokyo summer days; household goods and tools; stationery and craft supplies; and candies and snacks to fuel more shopping! Omiyage, check!
google avatar

Irene M.

Yelp
The best Daiso ever! The go to ¥100 (back home it's $1.50 and only fraction of items available) store that you can get everywhere from food, backs, stationeries, craft and just about every home and kitchen items. Just steps away from Harajuku station at the Takeshita-dori exit. I always stop by for a quick water and munchies stop absolutely love this place.

Yelp
Daiso really does become one of your best friends while traveling or living in Japan because everything without a tag is 100 yen, which is like everything. It's great for people with limited budgets like me. Daiso is similar to Dollar Tree in the US but waaaaay bigger. This location consists of several floors and has almost everything available such as: food, toiletries, essentials, kitchen stuff, bedding, bathroom stuff, cosmetics, clothes, stationaries, costumes, and more. There's no bathrooms available so don't go there thinking you can tinkle. There's usually a lot of customers in the store, so that means lines for the registers are sometimes long. But the cashiers go pretty quick. I love that they accept card payments, which is awesome because people don't always carry cash, especially tourists. When you finish paying for your stuff, you can go to the counters by the entrance/exit to further pack your stuff. There are newspapers, tapes, and bags available for you to wrap fragile products like mugs or glass. It's very convenient. The store just gets pretty crazy because it's almost always packed. But that's good for their business :).

Yelp
This is a smaller store but it's packed with lots. Each level features different products, the first level being snacks. It was very crowded, even on a weekday in the early hours. This store features a little of everything, from household necessities, travel gear, hygiene products, outdoor equipment and so on. Even though I didn't come with the intent of buying anything, I still walked out with a handful of stuff. First world problems.

Crizelda I.

Yelp
One of the biggest Daiso branch I have ever been to. 4 floors of every knick knacks, souvenirs, candies, chips, school supplies, kitchen stuffs and more. I like that it's in the heart of fun Harajuku!! Hard to miss for its big bright pink sign. I got all my souvenirs here and giveaways here. Good finds!
google avatar

Yelp
This store is like a more advanced dollar store to us from the states. An amazing 100 yen store unless otherwise stated. I love that they carry a little bit of everything - from stationery , to home goods, snacks , socks, belts, shirts , souvenirs , travel goods , cell phone accessories this store was amazing . I mostly stopped here for snacks and stationery to bring back to the US.
google avatar

Yelp
The best place to get souvenirs in Tokyo for everyone you've ever met lol. Almost everything is $1! They legit have everything. So many household things that you would never think existed but wonder how you've gone your whole lift without it.
google avatar

Kristina T.

Yelp
This Daiso is one of the largest 100-yen stores at four floors and over 10,500 square feet. All of that space is used though, and the store is packed with products. The ground floor is all snacks and trinkets, and the upper floors are cosmetics, household products, and everything else. The checkout stands are strategically tucked in the back of the ground floor for you to make your way to after having navigated at least the entire floor. Most items are 100 yen, and prices are labeled for anything not 100 yen. Tourists, this is a great place to get gifts without breaking your bank though it is easy to end up spending a lot of money here. In that case, credit cards are accepted as a form of payment so do not worry if you are short on cash. Being in a prime location in Harajuku, this store is as packed with people as it is with products, but it is navigable.

Yelp
WOW!!! i love this Daiso!!! its has like 4-5 levels!!! they have so much stuff!!! everytime we have been to tokyo we make sure to stock up on goodies we cannot get at our daiso at home. the cashiers are super fast and pretty polite. there is so many good souveniers here and fun gadgets.

Yelp
Although some people may say a Daiso is a Daiso, you need to come to the Harajuku location, because it is somewhat unique, as it is a multi floor experience. Add that to the colorful events and folks outside the door (with all the people walking in the area) and you have a very interesting blend of customers that come through this place. This store has a wide variety of things, however because it is on three different floors, it takes a while to go through and find what you're looking for. Plus, you have to pay on the first floor and it is usually very, very crowded there (it's usually a shoulder to shoulder experience with other shoppers). The second and third floors aren't quite so bad, but again, you do have to come downstairs to pay, so matter what, if you're buying something you can't get around it. It's usually pretty crowded here, however we prefer to come in the evening (maybe an hour or two before they close) as it's a lot easier and the crowds a lot smaller, but again this in a very fun area with a lot of things to do and see here.... Because It's Takeshita Street in Harajuku!!!
google avatar

Kit W.

Yelp
As far as I know, this Daiso is the largest one in all of Tokyo. It is conveniently located along Takeshita Dori, the famous Harajuku street known for its trendy shops, fashion boutiques, and crepe stands. The entrance to Takeshita Dori is right across from the Harajuku Station and if you walk for about 30 seconds to 1 minute down Takeshita Dori (depends on how crowded it is), this Daiso will be on your left (look for the large pink Daiso sign). For someone from Hawaii, Daiso is always a fun stop since we currently don't have any Daiso's. It's amazing the variety of different things you can buy for 100 yen. They have some items for 200 yen set aside on clearly labeled shelves as well. This particular Daiso has three floors and a basement level. I found some cute circular hangers that are great for hanging multiple scarves. If you don't have a Daiso near you, this is a neat stop!
google avatar

Miranda L.

Yelp
Everything you've heard and more. Crowded, packed with merchandise, and full of discounts. If you need something reliable and don't want to overpay, Daiso is your best bet. This store is large and pretty crowded, with multiple floors and overflowing displays. The checkout section is a maze of lines, but the wait is worth it. I highly recommend home goods and office supplies from here. Easy on the wallet and usually just as good as pricier brands.

Yelp
This is one of the biggest, if not the biggest discount store in Tokyo with four floors of 100 yen goods! We spent the most time in the basement with the kitchenware and snacks. Though it is huge and is a site to see, especially given the hoards of people that filter in from the crowds outside on Takeshita Street, the store itself doesn't have much going for it. Sure there is more of a selection, but the quality of goods is not on the same level as that of other 100 yen stores. And for some reason, even with four floors of goods, I couldn't find things that I found at my neighborhood 100 yen stores... Don't be fooled by the size, there are much better 100-300 yen stores if you want to pick up some cheap, quality convenience goods. The only thing that is unique at this DAISO is a souvenir section (but even those items looked tacky).
google avatar

Shannon M.

Yelp
This Daiso is right at the beginning of Takeshita Dori in Harajuku and is a good stop for snacks or souvenirs. It's a hyaku-en store so everything is 100¥ (roughly a dollar currently), so a good spot to stock up on some extra gifts!
google avatar

Marie T.

Yelp
This Daiso location has a love/hate relationship with me. Hate it because: 1. It's crowded!!!!! 2. Located on the busiest street loaded with tourists 3. Far from where I live. If I have to take the train, it's far. Love it: 1. One of the biggest Daiso locations with 4 floors! 2. They accept credit cards (unlike the Ebisu location) 3. One stop shop! - I'm sure to find what I need here 4. There are many choices for one item. For example, if you're looking for a flashlight, they've got 10 different types ranging in size. 5. They also carry seasonal items. As of this writing, they had rows of Halloween decorations and costumes.
google avatar

Lara L.

Yelp
The 100 yen store...well, not exactly, but it is just as fun to shop in. I haven't seen a 100yen store in awhile....but it has been many years since I've lived in Japan. Upon returning to visit, I always find myself walking into a Daiso. Nevermind that we have Daiso back in the states (such as in Hawaii and California), its truly fun to stop in and browse all Daiso stores...big or small! This one is fairly large and fun to shop.
google avatar

Donna S.

Yelp
The street that Daiso is on is SUPER crowded and this Daiso wasn't even that big. It does have many levels but it's still small compared to others I've been to. It was just okay for me.
google avatar

Andrew C.

Yelp
Fun shopping time with super cheap prices. Great place to grab some souvenirs to take home or some things you forgot at a reasonable price. There are 3 floors of fun to explore.. grab a basket you are going to need it as you will definitely find some things you need here!
google avatar

Tesia T.

Yelp
Yelp 100 Review Challenge: 6/100 Awesome place! Definitely felt super silly visiting a place that exists in the US, but I thought it was totally different shopping experience! There were 3-4 levels I think? For sure 3 levels. And they sold so many different items that are not available in the US! Also it's not $1.50 like the US, it's only a $1.00 store! I found so many cute stickers, hair sticks, and different type of art supplies! I think it's definitely worth a little visit! It's also in the heart of Harajuku! So definitely come on in and spend some money! Buyer Beware: Some items are not $1, but they are marked.
google avatar

Kenson K.

Yelp
There are Daiso's everywhere it seems in Japan. They've also invaded the west coast of the U.S. with their cutesy $1 goods. This Daiso was several floors and had several novelty things. The lines are huge and they have multiple cash registers so although crowded, things do move along. WE bought some Japanese candies and crackers, chips and knick knacks her as gifts for friends. A very quirky store that won't break your bank.
google avatar

Nicole W.

Yelp
Love this little store! Everything is $1 unless noted otherwise. They have Disney stuff here! Was able to get most souvenirs here.

Yelp
Great things at a cheap price but unfortunately bad customer service :(. Mrs. Uyeda (上田さん) of register 3 from door was quite condescending and short with us. -When I asked Mrs. Uyeda the hrs of operation, she responded with a demeanor that denoted irritation and an attitude of "why would you ask me such a silly question"... -No one was behind us in the line and she told my fiancé to move as if he was inconveniencing others... -rather briskly told me to remove my bag -when she asked if I had anything smaller to pay with (3,132yen) I told her I didn't have any small change & handed over a 5,000 yen bill...she yet again responded with the discourteous tone of "don't you have any 10yen coins?" This is atypical of the kind of service one would receive in Japan at well established business. Both Ms. Nakamura (中村さんthe store manager) & Ms. Moritaka (森高さん)apologized on her behalf. I told them how I felt and that I felt bad even having to talk to them about it, but I felt it necessary to bring it to their attention if Mrs. Uyeda was going to be handling the register for so many customers who come looking forward to shopping at the store and coming to Japan. I have been speaking Japanese my whole life and it was quite evident that she was just being plain rude (noticeable even to my fiancé who doesn't speak). Communication is all about the energy and intention with which you present information. I am disappointed in the way she handled our exchange . Especially since this is one of the biggest stores in Tokyo (near Harajuku Station on Takeshita street) and Japan is known for having impeccable service . I am not sure if I'd ever return to this particular store. I had a much better experience at Can Do in Shibuya.

Yelp
This Daiso is supposed to be one of the biggest locations in Tokyo. We went on a Thursday afternoon although it was packed the small isles made it seem busier. The basement floor was under construction and closed to the public. The next floor had food and snacks, along with other Tokyo related gifts. We went up another floor and found beauty, crafts, toys, and travel items. Nothing stuck out on this floor so we continued upwards. The last floor had a bunch of kitchen related items. We went a little crazy on this floor and were able to get a lot of chopsticks, dishware, and bento box items. One of the things that didn't make sense was that the only check out was back down on the first floor. It's also in the way of a couple isles and you're not able to shop them without getting stuck in line. The hassle involved in checking out was worth it considering everything is only a $1. We probably wouldn't travel this far away for Daiso but we enjoyed our time there.
google avatar

Susan L.

Yelp
This Daiso has approximately 3-4 floors. It is located on a crowded street with the word 'Daiso' in the store front so you won't miss it. Everything in the store is 100 yen unless otherwise stated.
google avatar

Gabby V.

Yelp
Huge Daiso store, thee best dollar store I've been to! I think there's over 5 floors and most items are only a dollar. I love finding random stuff here and it's the perfect place to buy gifts for others without breaking the bank. Stock up on your Japanese snacks here too! It's located in a super crowded alley filled with small stores reminiscent of a swap meet, it looks semi-sketchy but don't be deterred. Be sure to take your time and check out each floor, you never know what you'll find!
google avatar

Jay N.

Yelp
Boy, can I say it is extremely hot and packed in there? I say this during a visit in the winter. It was hot! Anyway, the merchandise is pretty much what you'd expect from a dollar store in America except in Japanese. There are Japanese souvenirs, kitchenware, snacks, food, package compression, accessories, stationary, slippers (neat!), and other necessities. You can buy belts, underwear, gloves, and socks for 100¥ each, which at the time of this posting, is less than a US dollar. So this could be a good idea instead of doing laundry. I really appreciated the cashier letting me know a slipper cost 200¥. It didn't bother me but that was very nice of her to do that.

Plane T.

Yelp
Love Daiso, but the crowd in this store can be overwhelming, especially the first floor. It's filled with tourists. 3 floors and the crowd gets thinner as you go up. The variety is decent compared to other Daiso and of course the price is right. If you want some cheap good quality souvenirs to buy on this tourist street, this is the place to go. Rest of the street is quite expensive. I made a video on Daiso during my recent visit to Tokyo. https://youtu.be/iQ5hHaMUtRw another Daiso video...more great products https://youtu.be/XYxCNlU0jIc
google avatar

Yelp
Great place for last minute souvenir shopping and right outside is Takeshita street for more authentic souvenirs.
google avatar

Yelp
So many great products for just 100 yen! The store is conveniently located near the end of the main street in Harajuku just across the street from the train station. The store is filled with Japanese people and foreigners alike. I probably heard at least four different languages during my visit. I got lots of little things for a great deal: stickers for my friend's daughters, cute little erasers shaped like sushi, mini easels for an artistic co-worker, an air cushion for back support on the plane, and my favorite ume hard candies. And all of these things are just 100 yen each (currently around $1 US). You have to be sure to check out all four floors of this store because each floor has different things - kind of like a cheap department store. I wish we had a Daiso in Hawaii, but sadly we don't, so I have to stock up while in Japan. Workers are very nice too.

Jane D.

Yelp
Good inventory, 4 floors. Spent a lot of time in here and workers are very friendly.
google avatar

Hong T.

Yelp
Cheap place to buy souvenirs but keep in mind majority of the stuff is made in China. If your looking for made in Japan items make sure to read the labels..Allot of the items are 100 yen unless it's price tagged.

Heidi M.

Yelp
Even when I inquired with the hotel front desk for the closest Daiso in Shinjuku, she replied that this one was the best. You will find anything and everything in this store!
google avatar

Jewel Y.

Yelp
I LOVE DAISO!! This place is da bomb!! It's like you hit the jackpot, I kid you not! How can they sell these products so cheap??? Almost everything is ¥100 (about $1!)!! It will surely defy your preconceived notion of Japan being such an expensive country. I don't know how they make money! Unlike crappy American dollar stores, the so-called "¥100 shop" is off the hook!! There are so many great products at unbelievable price that I usually buy most of my souvenirs here, hehe! ( just don't tell my friends, ok?) You can literally buy almost everything you need ranging from Japanese ceramics, kitchenware, cosmetics, handbags, snacks, USB cables, laundry hangers, iPhone covers, accessories, games, stationery, and so on. This is a must-visit place for those who are on a budget. Prepare to spend at least an hour here, because this branch is one of the biggest with 3 floors and a basement. There are bilingual staff working too.
google avatar

Jackie S.

Yelp
What a huge Daiso! We're used to a small Daiso store back in California. Tons of stuff at this Daiso which is a good place to visit if you are on a budget. Stopped by to get some green tea snacks.
google avatar

Karl R.

Yelp
We found a bunch of stuff we were looking for here. Every day items and gift wrap. Also, we had accidentally set down one of our bags. The staff was super helpful and it was found in less than a minute. ARIGATO!
