"Daiso Japan is a prime example of the kinds of gems you'll find in Koreatown - think the 99 cents store, only cooler. Launched in Japan in the 1970s as a "100 yen" store – they bring together a large selection of kitchen goods, cosmetics, stationery at or around $1.50 apiece, managing to neatly appoint an intense variety of awesome shit you never knew you needed in each colorfully cramped aisle. It's an essential retail therapy if you're looking for 1200 sushi erasers, need a last minute gift, or to replace that sake glass you broke post haste. You'd pass by a hundred times without giving Daiso another thought, and that's what makes it so great: those in the know about this bizzare but charming chain have evangelized the place." - The HR Dept

I have been coming to Daiso for a while, and it’s always a great experience! They have a wide variety of items, and I mostly shop for school supplies and household goods. However, every visit, I find something new that makes its way into my purchase—and I never regret it! Over the past few years, the staff has been very welcoming, making each trip even better (thank you staff).

A little smaller than most but seems to still have everything. Got the perfect sized travel chopsticks 🥢

Google
Average. Decent sized compared to the other Daiso locations I've been to, but this one looked very low stocked. There were barely any items on the shelves, but I guess that's good if you don't like it when stores are too cluttered. They also seemed to have all of the usual items that you'd find at the other locations as well as the same prices. Our cashier was really friendly and nice as he checked out our items. Not bad!

Google
Good but everything is sold out fast. Nice location good customer service. Not like Hollywood one. They r very very rude n empty. I go to Hollywood one only bc this one is usually sold out like chargers.

Google
Great Daiso location! Love it! I always find exactly what I need and more 😂 hit and miss with some of the products but it's alright I guess. Keep in mind $1.50 adds up quickly 😳😳😳. This location validates parking, but parking attendants can be rude 😒 park at your own risk. This Daiso seems to have most items stocked up. So sad pets were not allowed 💔 FYI pet lovers 😢

Google
You will never get disappointed when you visit here. They have great selection of home items you need and the quality is good. I wish they open more spots and have more items like the ones in Japan. Love it !!!

Not bad for the price you pay. It has everything you need.

Yelp
Ktown Daiso is in a small Plaza with an underground parking lot which they also have validation for. I had some time to kill in Ktown so I decided to just spend some time in Daiso and got a few cute things that I didn't think I would need but I did buy it for future use. I bought a travel-size liquid container spritzer. Some hair accessories and also a small container for some small items that you might have. People here are friendly but the store is quite small so you might not find everything you are looking for compared to other locations.

James A.

Yelp
Located in the MaDang shopping center, this location of the very popular 'thousand-yen' retail store selling Japanese products, is a great place to pick up daily essentials (along with other things that you didn't know you needed....). It's very similar to the dollar stores that are all around us, except for more Asian related products (which is why Daiso can be found in areas of higher East Asian populations like Little Tokyo, Sawtelle, and K-Town).

Tina S.

Yelp
This place is really cute and there are a lot of good finds that will surprise you. They sell a wide selection of items from kitchenwares, plates, bowl, utensils, and the like to make up, cleaning implements, snacks (chips, chocolates, and candies). The items are reasonably priced. If the item has no price tag then it is priced at a $1.75, there are also price charts posted for each and every aisle to determine the pricing of items. The only con when we shopped today was there was no available bag for the items that we purchased. Good thing, we had an extra bag to place the items we bought.

Ronald A.

Yelp
Chill little spot with lots of cool cheap little trinkets the snacks are not lacking just needs a few more isles ... aside from that it's dope.

Brad L.

Yelp
They have a great selection of everything you need for your house hold and more! You can go in with 5-20$ and feel like royalty haha!! They always have tons of gadgets and fun things to make your home more cute

Joann V.

Yelp
3 stars One of the smaller Daisos I have been to. Many of the similar pots, pans, glassware, and other home goods are available here. This location is probably my least favorite Daiso because they have a limited selection of kitchen and office essentials. Quantity is good, variety isn't. The only good thing that came from my visit here was finding the perfect sized pipe cleaner for some of my thinner-than-usual-reuseable straws. Unless you're in the area and want to make a pit stop, this Daiso isn't worth driving out of your way for.

Fahad H.

Yelp
Located inside MaDang Courtyard. There's really nothing to see here other than some overpriced Japanese kitchen & bathroom stuff and candies that you can find easily in other Asian groceries Skip this one & go to H Market in the ground level!

Tj F.

Yelp
The Japanese $1.50 store. Their small comparison to the same in Japan. But I'm glad their here. They should open one in Victorville

Angelica P.

Yelp
Clean and lots of variation! Love how friendly the cashiers were! They also had security there which made me feel a little safer!

Brenda L.

Yelp
The good: Daiso is like a Japanese version of Family Dollar. They have locations all over the world and they sell really neat and cheap home gadgets. I love coming here to get office or kitchen supplies. I got a kitchen sink bucket and a small trashcan for a total of $5-6. Things you can buy here include snacks, drinks, makeup, trashcans, post-its, pens, notepads, gift bags, Christmas decoration, face masks, erasers in very fun shapes, phone accessories, and more. They're located on the 1st floor of a Korean mini-mall with multiple floors. My 12 year old niece enjoys this store so much that she aspires to work here as her 1st job. The bad: The layout of the register makes it so folks standing in line to pay block the aisle for other shoppers who want to look at that aisle. Looking for the price takes some effort. The prices are listed in yen and there's a conversion chart posted between some of the shelves that help you translate it into American dollars. The interesting: They sold a mystery bag of items for Black Friday.

Regine D.

Yelp
I love Daiso! Even though most of the items are $1.50, a lot of the merchandise is actually good quality. They were selling disposable face masks located at the cashier. They had shelves and shelves of hand sanitizer at a reasonable price. This location takes safety precautions seriously. All of the employees were wearing face coverings. There might be a line to get in the store because they have minimized the store occupancy. The parking garage entrance is on Manhattan. Prior to the pandemic, parking was a hit or miss. Now, parking is easy to find as there arent a lot of shoppers out and about now.

Sienna V.

Yelp
Great selection. The pricing is very reasonable but be careful bc it all adds up! the service was nice i wish i had a diaso where i am from.

Eunice C.

Yelp
Thank you Brenda! I called in for some chairs and she immediately found some and left it at the front for us. She wasn't there when I got there but she was extremely helpful and kind over the phone.

Yelp
I'm a candy addict. Specifically gummy and sour candies. When I saw the candy display at Daiso, I went to town. Bought a bunch of different kinds on Tuesday, November 20th around 3pm. *WarHeads: Sour Dippin' Puckers Packs, Sour Twists, Sour Chewy Cubes ($1.50 ea) *Trolli: Sour Brite Blasts, Sour Brite Octopus, Watermelon Sharks ($1.50 ea) *Hi-Chew: Sour Citrus, Yogurt Mix ($1.75 ea); Caramel Apple ($1.50) I had bought a pack of Hi-Chews at the Korean grocery store in this plaza. Wish I had waited as I would have saved almost a dollar per pack. So if you want candy, go to Daiso instead. It's cheaper. They had a pretty good assortment I've never had before. My inner fattie wanted to buy everything, but I showed some self restraint. There's only so much candy I should keep around. I adore Daiso in general. And this location is a pretty good size.

Esther C.

Yelp
Who doesn't love Daiso?? The entire store is $1.50 per item (unless otherwise noted) and there is a huge variety of snack and home items for people of all ages. I love coming to Daiso for stocking stuffers, goody bag items, small home items (like bowls/cups/utensils), beauty goods and of course... the crafts! For under $10, you can buy a bunch of crafts to keep your little one busy all day (slime, coloring paper, crayons, stickers, playdoh, etc). The Daiso in Madang Plaza validates parking so it's super easy to pop in and out if you need to stock up on gifts or small home items!

Alina N.

Yelp
Not only adorable items but also very useful stuff exist here. I got a chopping board years ago and still Im using it. The quality of items is very good.

Nadine C.

Yelp
Daiso is like an Asian Dollar Tree store or like a Japanese 99 Cents Only store... Location: Madang Courtyard, Ground Level Benefits: Two hours of parking in Koreatown with purchase! Get cute items from Japan - most things are $1.50 unless otherwise marked. Compared with other locations, this one appears to have less variety - possibly because it's a really popular shop and many customers get items that I want before I get there? The store is in a convenient place? Other people want two hours of parking in Koreatown, too? The aisles seem narrower... maybe because it's a smaller space? I'm not sure why...maybe a combination of all of the above reasons...or...maybe because Daiso is such a fun and inexpensive store!? Note: bring your own packages, buy some shopping totes there, or pay 10 cents for plastic disposable bags...this is Los Angeles!

Amy W.

Yelp
Pro's: social distancing in full force. 20 people waiting to go into Daiso 30-min before it closes. Con's: Same as above. There's no "quick trip to Daiso to pick up 2-3 things" now. Bring a backpack with water & snacks, because it's taking me longer to walk INTO the the store than it took to walk TO the store

Hannah H.

Yelp
About a 2-2.5: Daiso Japan is like the Japanese version of a Dollar Store, however, most of their items are under a $1.50. This particular location is located in the Madang Courtyard, on the main level. Compared to the Daiso in Little Tokyo, this store was super disorganized and not well-stocked. It had the usual items, such as snacks, kitchen, home decor, beauty products, accessories, toys, stationery, and little gifts. I really liked the little Santa hat hair clips and the French bulldog journal. Garage parking or limited metered parking in the area. +items all less than $1.50, unless marked +located in the Madang Courtyard, main level

Jo S.

Yelp
I just discovered Daiso Japan while I was in Koreatown for a Yelp event. I love the mall that Daiso Japan is located in, very cute. The store advertises as a Dollar store, but prices start at $1,50 and go up to $4. Not bad, considering the decent quality of many items they sell: X-mas decorations, cosmetics, office supplies, kitchen items, slippers, house decor, all sorts of cute things that you might need or they'll be an impulse buy 'cause it's cheap. And they're cute. And fun. And different. Of course I couldn't help myself and got a few items (like a kitchen timer in a shape of a strawberry) that'll make cool stocking stuffers! Decent customer service, fun store, you can browse it for a while. And I bet you won't come out empty-handed!

Pan Z.

Yelp
It's a Terrible store!! I never go here again! I bought a damaged oil bottle. the next day, I want to change a new one. The cashier said no return or exchange. And it's a Japan store, so it follows japanese rules. But it is a broken one. The other customer said because it's so cheap, it has no return or exchange. Why? The cheap is more important than quality. Ok, I understand. Lol~~horrible customer service~

S E.

Yelp
Its the Japanese version of Dollar Tree. A really fun place to explore and find neat things.

Vivian C.

Yelp
This Daiso is located on the ground floor beneath Sul & Bean. We had 15 minutes before our meter would run out (yes, I didn't realize that they offered validated parking in the garage here... actually, I didn't know that they had a garage here), so we were doing sort of a hit and run shopping trip. We each managed to find something we wanted. We paid, and we left. We brought bags with us this time, so no need to pay for one of their baggies. $1.50 for everything unless otherwise marked.

Griselda S.

Yelp
The cutest little store you can think of. The best way to describe it is to say it's like a 99 cents store but everything here costs $1.50 unless marked otherwise and the thinks come in cute pastel colors like pink, purple and light colors. I personally love coming here for the cute notebooks and tons of stationary supplies. This store is conveniently located in a plaza so they have a parking structure. Just make sure you get your ticket validated.

Brizylla A.

Yelp
I moved to Koreatown last month and Daiso was key in helping me get small home goods like a laundry basket and a shower curtain at a very affordable price. However, this particular store is very small in comparison to other locations and it is also very messy.. My main complaint is that they also do not carry a lot of items that other Daiso stores carry but again, I do think that it may have to do with the store being very small. Service was quick and cashier was friendly, but they are also very understaffed. Make sure to get parking validated!

Suzie M.

Yelp
It's so inexpensive and has everything I could ever want!!! I always spend so much when I visit! Granted, I'm coming all the way from North Carolina, so you can imagine how many things we *don't* have out here that's like Daiso, lol. Give me all the things!!!

Nick A.

Yelp
I love Daiso! There's nothing wrong with this Daiso other than its size. I give it only three stars because it's so much smaller than the other Daiso store's I've patronized. They do a great job with the small space they have, but it's less than half the size of the other stores...and that's being generous. If you're in the area, then it's OK, but definitely choose another location if you want a better selection of their great bargain products.

Shirra P.

Yelp
1st time. Fun store, found great nail polish, make up remover, masks, stationary, air freshener. Parking is easy and it's in a shopping center. A wonderful Asian dollar store. Will be back.

c t.

Yelp
Went to the store in Woodbridge after a trip to IKEA Everything was cute and decently priced.

Shani S.

Yelp
Fun little store that is a huge landmark in Japan. Got all kinds of cute stuff! Located in a small strip style mall place that has KURA sushi in it. Most stuff is $1.50 but check first as if it is more, it will be clearly marked. sushi magnets $1.50 Sushi hot tea cup $1.50 Laundry bag $1.50 TONS of Japanese snacks Japanese bowls $1.50 Airplane plush neck pillow $2.99

Christine L.

Yelp
Not quite dollar tree but they have a really good assortment of things selling for $1.50 with a few other things a little more but I don't think I saw anything more than $8. They have laundry items, kitchen tools, socks, Asian snacks, dishes, office supplies, makeup supplied and so much more. It was fun to look around and see what they had, although I ultimately left without getting anything. It's definitely cleaner than most other discount stores I've been to, and it was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon. Lines can get a little long. Don't forget to validate your parking for the lot too!

Sarah O.

Yelp
I like the aesthetics of the merchandise here and how most of the things are $1.50, with a few exceptions. I'm a huge stationary junkie so I spent a good amount of time here, they also have nice household items, such as bento boxes. I hear other Daiso stores are bigger and nicer but I was perfectly content with this location considering it's my one and only Daiso visit. Most of my souvenirs to bring back will come from here. They also validate parking in the garage so parking was not an issue. - an update: we did end up visiting Daisy at the Little Tokyo location. Yes the store was much bigger and they had more stuff but they also didn't have some stuff that the Western Ave store had. (Ie: cute cat/duck pens)

Sapphire B.

Yelp
Due to Memorial Weekend I was lucky enough to find free parking on the street. I walked to the store and was pleasantly surprised of its size. I loved browsing all the aisles I just wish everything had price tags so you know for sure what you are paying.

sherry c.

Yelp
Terrible customer service! I just called for some file cases they don't even know if they in stocks!..and tell me to come to the store to find out if they do ! Told me they are too busy to help me! Lol~~horrible customer service~

Valerie D.

Yelp
So the employees here should read up on the CDC guidelines about babies and masks. The lady at the door refused to let my 13 month old baby I was carrying in my arms in without a mask. CDC guidelines states that children under 2 can't wear a mask... So disappointed at this location. Stuff was ehhhh. I shop more at other Daiso's I've been to.

Mia W.

Yelp
Cool place! Lots of cute things from Japan, China and Korea. Prices are great as well. My only qualm is most of the items they sell is japan inspired made in china. Seems a bit misleading. Wish it was all japanese made since it is called Daiso Japan. Still, check it out. It's a fun place to visit...

Sam C.

Yelp
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE from the older woman who was working on 08/28. Before you go inside the store, there are CDC guidelines and store policies you should read before entering the building. We saw that no food or drinks were allowed inside the store. I did have a drink, but it had a closed lid. It was more of a coffee tumbler, so I thought I could ask if it was okay to come in with it or have my friend stay behind with the tumbler while I went inside. As we open the door, the lady wearing all black comes rushing towards us with a pointer and, in a loud voice, saying no drink, no drinks, no drinks. We came in to ask if the tumbler was okay, but she cut us off. The way she approached us was not welcoming at all. She came towards us wrongfully on her part. I am unsure if she's a shift leader or supervisor, but she needs to learn to communicate better with customers, not just shout and come rushing toward us. She could've politely said hey guys, I just wanted to let you know there are no drinks allowed beyond this point or politely asked us to keep all drinks outside. I will not be coming back to this Diaso after this experience.

Preciosa S.

Yelp
After a bad experience with another Daiso location I decided to go to the one in the Madong Plaza and my experience went from 2 stars to 5 stars. Everybody was nice and welcoming and they were really helpful with finding what I needed. I was looking for paint canvases but they were out, but I left with 2 items that were so much better! The price was also accurate and very cheap. Only $3.29 for 2 items. This Daiso also has helping employees who were kind and very useful in helping find what I needed. Thanks to this Daiso I got to update my blog posts

Bella G.

Yelp
Daiso Japan is a great store if you're looking for a small gift of inexpensive, random items you might want/need. First impressions, super cute and colorful. We ended up purchasing sour candy, 2 shower caps, some socks, silicone molds to my my pups some PUPsicles and some other things. Store is clean, employees are kind..sometimes it feels like their stalking you around the isles, but I can also be crazy. I believe they don't have a public restroom but overall its a cute store to kill some time inside of.

Kat T.

Yelp
Can't bet paying $1.50 for everything. Love this store! You can find lots of different stuff. Sometimes even cheaper than other places like other Japanese stores or even Chinese stores. Stuff from food to travel stuff. You do have to pay for parking. This Daiso is in a shopping center.

Thomas K.

Yelp
Usually I really like Daiso, but this Daiso seems understocked. There are empty shelves or lots of repeating items. If you're unfamiliar with Daiso, it's a Asian $1 tree, where majority items are $1.50. they accept credit card with a minimum of $10, but Debit card is okay. All sales are final (no exchanges either) The variety of items is not as many of the other locations. If you could make it to the sawtelle location in Westwood, it would probably be a better experience and you're more likely to find what you're looking for. 2 hour validated parking, but the parking structure is a headache. It's narrow and it's not SUV friendly.

Connie S.

Yelp
I have a love hate relationship with this store. Yes, almost everything is 1.50 and it makes me compulsively buy so much stuff that I don't need!! Maybe it's my self control I need to work on but after I look at what I bought, it amazes me. But this is the good. Now to the bad... I bought a toy for my pups here once and was shocked when I got home. There was a cardboard tab wrapped around a circular rope portion of the toy and when I took it off, I saw packing tape holding the 2 circular ends together!! I was not very happy about this. I know Daiso is cheap but come on... Yes.. I go here to buy cotton puffs, gift wrap, and cards but anything else, make sure you thoroughly check what you are purchasing beforehand.

Vivian D.

Yelp
I enjoy coming to Daiso and browsing around just for fun. I love Japanese stuff, but in reality there are a lot of really ramdom and cheap stuff in this Daiso. Not many really useful items, maybe because this store is kinda of small. I guess the store didn't meet my expectations.

Juvi G.

Yelp
Walking into this store, I was very unimpressed by the "Target/ Staples-Japanese-fusion" feel. Then, I saw that just about everything here is only $1.50, unless stated otherwise. That kind of threw me, because a lot of the things here would cost you $15+ at a Little Tokyo store, or $5+ at a Chinatown shop. We're talking facial cleansers, toner, face & body moisturizers, glitter eye shadow & mascara, several different shades of foundation, hand mitts, tea cups, kitchen utensils, office products, stationary, and even snacks and tattoos. Yes, all for $1.50. It's a veritable treasure trove of cheap items of acceptable quality. Obviously, one shouldn't expect enormously high quality from these items, but given the price, they are a really great bargain, and more than one are worth stocking up on, such as the collagen facial masks which are like satin on your skin. Good luck walking out of here with only one item. I tried. And I failed.

Tist O.

Yelp
The worst customer service at check stands. I am not calling out his/her name but very rude and unprofessional. Management needs to to re-train their employees.

Sarah Z.

Yelp
Daiso! I love this place and I make sure to shop here every time I'm in LA. Sadly, they don't have Daiso in NYC. When I first went to Daiso, everything was $1. They've since raised their price to $1.50 everything in store. Still cheap but it's somehow not the same anymore. I like this Daiso location.

Darylynn D.

Yelp
Daiso is a place where you can get lost in because not only everything is $1.50, but a lot of the stuff you wonder what the heck it is. A lot of them are not written in English so you wonder how to use something. I will say I've gotten a few things here and it's a complete waste of $1.50 and it makes me wish I went to the 99c store and buy something I know works. Free parking in the structure with validation!

Jennifer H.

Yelp
This is the cutest place ever. It started with girls at work talking about their visits and what they found there. I had never heard of this place before. One day I ran into one and decided to explore. They have all kinds of cute things. From dineware to make-up, house hold, gifts, and trinkets. It's a 99 cents store of the new generation. Such a fun find!
