Daisy Chain Coffee

I was in search of the perfect mocha latte using the windmill coffee house blend. I visited 2 other local shops with the same order and @Daisy Chain won me over with the smooth blend, the perfect froth, and the cute artistry in a cup. It had just the right amount of sweetness and balance of milk where I was thoroughly pleased. I wanted to make sure it wasn’t a fluke so I came back the next day with the same order and it was perfection in a cup again. My new coffee shop and you should make it yours too.

Probably one of the best lattes I’ve ever had! I ordered the cinnamon and honey latte. Delish! This coffee shop is a must visit for anyone who appreciates a perfectly crafted drink.

Stopped in for a coffee while out of town and had an awesome chat with the barista. Super knowledgeable on coffee, specific roasts, where they get their coffee from, and other coffee roasters in the Midwest. 10/10 recommend! It is fairly small inside so I would not suggest coming in with a huge group. In total there’s seating for about 15 people.

Daisy Chain is such a hidden gem! I stumbled upon it by chance and was instantly impressed by the warm vibe and the care the baristas put into every cup. The coffee is hands-down the smoothest I’ve had in Des Moines—no bitterness, just pure flavor. The space is cozy, the staff are genuinely kind, and the conversations are just as good as the drinks. Easily my go-to spot now.

I enjoyed Mars Coffee before in this location, but since it has switched over to Daisy Chain Coffee, I have found that I love this shop even more. This coffee shop is run by the nicest guy and the shop itself seems to have so much more character & charm; I completely enjoy the bee and honey theme throughout the shop. In addition to your caffeinated beverage of choice, you can also snag coffee beans, chocolate bars, danishes, and local honey.

Good vibes and great coffee. You can buy local art or check out some nice shirts at the store connected to the coffee shop.

Great vanilla iced latte in a cute part of town! I'm passing through but I could easily spend half a day with a friend in this area! Beyond the tasty coffee, the service was great. Both employees were kind & warm...the kind of people that do a great job because they want to & it shows! I'm a fan!

Great service and friendly staff. However, I've been there twice and was so disappointed both times. Once a barista came to his shift, walked in the front door and proceeded right behind the counter offering to help me. They didn't wash their hands - so I passed. The second visit the barista was working behind the counter, gave a customer's dog a biscut, touching the dogs mouth and continued making drinks without washing their hands. Done.

Absolutely loved everything about this place. Raygun was full of really cool little trinkets & all that, but the coffee was the star. I wish I had gotten the name of where the pastries came from because wow that scone was probably the best scone I've ever had. It was a season cranberry scone of sorts, and I'll think about it until I visit again. Now back to the coffee. Holy cannoli, they have done it right. The balance of flavors, not too sweet, is stellar. You can tell that each drink is made with love. The barista (and im assuming owner?) was so funny. He was just chatting with people while making drinks, and you can really tell that he loves his work. Absolutely will go back

Time and time again the awarded Daisy Chain is my 10/10 coffee shop. As a WFH (+ espresso enthusiast), I sit and work as dozens of coffee shops monthly. By far, Daisy Chain has the BEST espresso. Out of this world! I prefer other shops if I'm needing to sit and work for a while (comfier seating). I always take my friends and family to Daisy Chain when exploring downtown. The owner is a neat guy! Definitely recommend trying a drink with honey... he wins awards for his beekeeping!

Owned by the best/most knowledgeable coffee guy in town. The coffee is always perfect and delicious. Cool space, staff is always nice and can't beat the price.. 5 start for sure!

The barista was very nice, and recommended the iced pistachio caramel latte, and it was outstanding! This place will not disappoint even the biggest coffee snob

We were staying nearby and were walking around in the morning looking for coffee. We did the touristy thing and stopped someone with a Daisy chain cup and they directed us here. We went into this little store and stood in a long, but quick-moving line, and ordered an espresso and cold brew. The staff were really nice and easygoing. There was a nice, relaxed vibe about the place. I really like my espresso, however, the cold brew was terrible. It wasn't a bad brew or anything, we just really did not like the coffee itself - just personal preference. But, that might just be us. I recommend you try it for yourself.

Stopped in early on a Saturday morning. Barista was very friendly and talkative which I liked. I tried the Meli which was great! It is cinnamon latte + honey. The only downside is limited seating otherwise great place!

Stopped for Sunday morning coffee and enjoyed a delicious latte with a shot of vanilla. This was not my first cup of the day, and I appreciated that they a small size, believe it was 8 ounces. The atmosphere is bright with plenty of windows, but there was no music playing so it was rather quiet. Some soothing Jazz music would have helped the Sunday-morning vibe. There was only one person behind the counter as the barista/cashier, which made for slower than expected service. Very cool Shepard Fairy piece hanging on the wall!

LOVE Daisy Chain. Not only is the coffee delicious the staff is super personable! I had the Miel and the pistachio latte special and it is always tasty! They are also dog friendly! 10/10 recommend!!

I love Daisy Chain in DSM! The Miel and the Pistachio latte are wonderful. The coffee is one of my favorites in the US. Very kind staff with quick intentional chats and the line is fast paced if there is one. The wax mini sculptures are very fun and unique. A must go to when in DSM! It's located in a great area to walk with friends aswell and stop in local shops.

We ordered the vanilla cold brew and pistachio latte. Both drinks were phenomenal! Welcoming vibe and you can't beat the bison mounted on the wall! Barista was extremely friendly and gave recommendations for the area as we were traveling. Next time I am passing through the Des Moines area, this is a definite stop!

Tried to order but don't allow dogs I can't say if coffee was good or bad bc we left to go to a more dog friendly business

Top notch espresso and coffee. The staff is great as well. We were in from out of town and need a dog fix as well. Daisy China did not disappoint as we got kisses from 5-6 dogs.

Pistachio Honey Latte is delicious! Busy place but worth the wait. I went on a Sunday around 10AM.

Daisy chain is my favorite spot for coffee in the east village. It has a fun, relaxed vibe and the coffee is delicious. I especially like the Miel. The baristas are friendly and easygoing. I wish the was more sitting space, I would probably stop more if so.

Cute little shop in the East Village. Small space with limited seating, but totally worth going in and grabbing a drink. The owner and his family have offered me great service all the times I've come in. I've gotten his ice lattes, ice chai, and honey that he MAKES! A local bee-keeper who is totally cool to talk with. Highly recommend!

New to the neighborhood and this place is a must stop. Great atmosphere with quick and excellent service. Love the Americano and Vanilla latte with oat milk.

This is my favorite coffee place in Des Moines! Beautifully crafted drinks, and Daniel's the kind of guy who remembers what's going on in your life from your last visit. Perfect combination of excellent coffee, great atmosphere, and chill people. I'm here a few times a week and love it every time

Best iced mocha in Des Moines hands down. I get mine with an extra shot of espresso for the flavor, MOM! I'm. Not. Addicted. Small town vibes with interesting bee lore.

Get the Miel, you can thank me later. Definitely the best I've ever had and I've had a few. The owner uses his own honey, which is available for purchase also. I was very impressed with his service skills also, very long line of people but able to multitask so you don't feel ignored. And the wait was worth it.

Everything here is super tasty. Shockingly good pastries in the morning (seems like they go fast), great coffee... and they serve local honey-infused items that (I've heard, haven't tried) are great. Why 4 stars? They only serve pour overs if they happen to have an open bag of single origin going. It's not even on their menu. It's AWESOME that they were able to make me one! But... why not just have one going all the time? Or better yet, a couple of beans available? Maybe pour overs aren't popular enough in DSM to make it worth it, idk. The pour over was SOLID though. Also... there seems to be a sewer backup/smell going =/ hopefully they fix that soon. The pluses here are so good that they deserve 6 stars (fantastic local food/drinks, very friendly people) but the negatives need to be addressed (pour overs are an afterthought, sewer backup, spotty wifi). If I come back to Des Moines will DEF stop in here again, and can hopefully give them the 5 stars they deserve.

The staff ignored my wife when she walked in with our son. There was no one else at the time. A customer (white) walked in after she gave her order and that person received an enthusiastic welcome. The coffee was good but the service was poor. Interesting that the reviewers rave about the customer service.

A great stop when you are in the East Village. Owner operated, very nice person, and excellent coffee. I'm usually just a latte guy and they do not disappoint. They also sell their own local honey. I've now been her on three different occasions and each time I was very happy with every aspect. They now have a bit more seating if you want to relax for a bit. Highly recommended.

Stopped here on our way out of town. Shop was pretty busy with one person working but she took her time on each drink and didn't rush or seem in a hurry. Drinks were delicious. Wish there was some seasonal specialty lattes but besides that - perfection ! Well balanced, delicious.

This is a great coffee shop that offer both decaf and oat milk. The oat milk seems to be oatly which is the best brand and tastes the best in coffee. I have had a great experience with Dan in terms of conversation, quality of drink and service. I came in on Saturday and the person working seemed very distracted. There was a line of about 4 people including me and it took over 20 minutes to just reach the register. Then another 5 minutes for the coffee to be ready. I have lived in busy cities and never waited this long to have someone just take my order. Out of the 4 people in line 1 stormed out and seemed irritated with the wait time. Safe to say I will not return on weekends and potentially during week if this person is working as I don't have time for a wait time like this.

You have to try the homemade lemonade with honey, omg it so mouth watering great!! It had wonder staff and locally sourced honey for sale. I was pleasantly surprised at you good the lemonade was!

By far the best coffee spot in Des Moines! I look for any excuse to stop by. Great atmosphere, great coffee, great service.
