horrible and ridiculous
Their reception doesn’t help guests check in. I was led to a kiosk and told that I should check in by myself, including inputting my full name, home address, cell phone number, and scanning my passport, all by myself.
The kiosk is not easy to use. I need to learn how to use the system, and I asked the staff two or three times because I encountered issues when I did the self-check-in. Also, I tried three times because it’s very unclear whether I should input my surname or given name first.
I understand this hotel wants to cut its budget, but asking your guests to use the stupid system to self-check in is unacceptable. I have traveled to more than ten countries, and this is the first time I have been asked to do this. At the same time, four staff members just stood in the reception area, doing nothing but talking to each other.
I must say that the checking-in process is the first impression of a hotel, and it’s not smooth and feels cheap. It does not meet my expectations, especially in Japan, a country famous for its service quality.
