We recently stayed at the Dakota , my husband, my daughter and myself, just before Christmas 2025. We were extremely happy with our two rooms; exceptionally comfortable beds and lovely en-suites . Breakfast was superb, lots of choices at the buffet to help yourself to. Evening meals were lovely too. The hotel staff were superb; polite , professional and friendly. We would most definitely stay at the Dakota again and would thoroughly recommend. Thankyou for making our short stay a pleasurable experience

Me and my partner visited the Dakota from the 14th to 17th of December for our anniversary trip away. We were having a few days in Edinburgh and found that this hotel was perfect for us to break the holiday up a little bit, it is very easily accessible via bus taking just under an hour on a very scenic route. I upgraded our room last minute and the attention to detail from staff was amazing. We arrived to a little card on the bed wishing us a happy anniversary and saying if there was anything else we needed then to contact them. From start to finish the staff were absolutely fantastic from front desk to housekeeping they were all so amazing and polite. We ate in the hotel’s restaurant on the 14th of December to celebrate our anniversary and the staff went above and beyond with two glasses of complimentary champagne, an amazing complimentary starter of tomato and goats cheese and wow was it unbelievable. The steaks were the best we have ever had and we still talk about how good they are now! we’re planning a trip back for the food alone. Everything from start to finish was absolutely exceptional and we couldn’t have had a better time! Thank you very much to all the hotel staff for making it as memorable as it was it was perfect. The rooms were spacious with lovely toiletries, an iron and ironing board and even a hairdryer. The attention to detail was amazing!! We will definitely be returning once again thank you to everyone who made it so fantastic 🤍

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an absolutely unforgettable stay at Dakota Edinburgh. The hotel staff went above and beyond when they allowed my friend early access to the room so they could set everything up for me to propose to my girlfriend. Their discretion, kindness, and willingness to help made such a special moment completely perfect. Later that evening, we celebrated with cocktails at the bar, which were excellent and rounded off the night beautifully. From start to finish, the service was exceptional and made what was already a big moment in our lives even more memorable. Thank you to the whole team for helping create a memory we’ll cherish forever — we couldn’t recommend Dakota Edinburgh highly enough.

I recently stayed at this lovely hotel in and had a wonderful experience. The place felt cozy and welcoming from the moment I arrived. One of the biggest conveniences was the on-site parking, which made the trip so much easier. The hospitality was truly exceptional — the staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The restaurant was another highlight, offering delicious food and a warm atmosphere that made every meal enjoyable. Although the hotel is about a 20-minute drive from central Edinburgh, the comfort, service, and overall experience more than made up for the distance. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Never stayed there before. I booked through Booking.com whose B&B price was the cheapest for this hotel.||Travelling by car, it has a good capacity carpark which if you are a hotel guest, you do not pay a fee. Simply log your registration at the Hotel desk. Check-in was handled quickly with a warm welcome for hotel staff. Room was of a good size, clean and warm and the en-suite had walk-in shower with toiletries supplied. The evening meal was tasty & cost was reasonable appropriate to the Hotel class. Breakfast had a good selection of cereals & additionally a cooked breakfast was available. Breakfast started at 0630 which is good for those needing an early departure. The hotel is approx 30 mins from the airport, and minutes away from the motorway. The only faults I had was a tv that was hard to select programmes & a leaking shower door that let water pool on the tiled floor. Otherwise I couldn’t fault my one night stay.

Google
I cannot fault this place. Room was spotlessly clean. Amazing shower. Massive TV, comfy bed. Superb coffee/tea making facilities, temp control worked great. One of the best if not the best I've been in for an overnight stay. Staff very helpful and friendly. 10/10

We were gifted a voucher for Dinner Bed &Breakfast as we decided to stay Sunday to Monday we opted for Sunday late lunch and the Bed & Breakfast. From when we arrived we had a very friendly welcome from the reception staff, we were given all the information details. The room was very clean with everything needed for our stay . We had a 3 course lunch which was excellent and the best Sunday lunch we have had in a very long time. As it was an anniversary we had complementary Champagne, the service was exceptional with at least 3 different staff attending us nothing was too much trouble and at the end of the meal we were given a plate with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate with Turkish delight and chocolates very nice touch. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and again excellent service would like to thank Kirsty and all the staff we will definitely come back. Ann and Andy Brown

Very nice hotel, breakfast and dinner were excellent along with the dinner staff. Rooms were spotless and very nicely decorated. Problem with service as we requested over room phone multiple times for a bucked of ice for some champagne as it was my fiancés birthday to which they said they would send one up straight away and it never came.

Yelp
All five stars are for Glen the shuttle driver!!!!!!!!! Glen, you saved this directionally challenged American couple, and I appreciate you. All staff were so friendly and accommodating Room was great and the best rain shower ever

Yelp
Upon check-in we were greeted with a warm & friendly smile after a long day of driving. Glen, the shuttle driver was great to let us follow him to the airport to drop off our rental car & then brought us back to the hotel. 5 stars for Glen (& Craig the next morning). The restaurant also gets 5 stars for our fabulous meal & service! Last but not least, our room was so comfy & lovely. 5 stars all around!

Yelp
Giving it 4 stars for the staff because they were really nice, and I found them to go above and beyond to assist with anything I needed. Downside to restaurant, closes early for breakfast, closes early ish for dinner. If you want breakfast after 10, you'll have to hit tesco because their kitchen is closed and they've already broken down the buffet of fruit etc. Similar for dinner, if you want a late night nosh too bad, kitchen closes at 10 pm. My room was fine, bed was comfy. But the whole place smelled musty or like mildew. I couldn't get rid of the humidity in the air, it was odd. The towel rack warmer was nice, but the rain shower was kind of a pain. I was only here for 2 nights, so it was fine for what I needed it for.

Yelp
Decent hotel albeit it expensive. Staff a bit frosty on check in and check out, our room details were not correct and despite paying over £1000 for two rooms for one night with dinner they wanted to charge me for one breakfast! Restaurant nice, breakfast good, bar service good, waiting staff good. Ample parking which is free. Situated quite a bit out of Edinburgh so be sure you know the area before booking

Yelp
LOVE checking into a hotel and having nonstop and I do mean NONSTOP banging/hammering going on. UPDATE- OK so they promised the hammering would stop at 3 PM and now it's 3:47. Still banging away.. ANOTHER UPDATE: manager was very rude on the phone and basically just brushed me off. Customers beware - this establishment will lie to you, and then treat you with indifference when you raise concerns. Stay elsewhere! UPDATE- I swear I'm not making this stuff up, but I discovered the television in my room doesn't work. And we ate dinner in the restaurant and they mixed up our bill with the next table- those folks got our bill, paid and left, and then the staff realized the error and asked us if we would pay the other table's bill, which was "within 8 pounds" of the bill we were supposed to get. Yeah. Wow.

Yelp
The Dakota has a very different vibe than your typical hotel with elusive and chic décor. The front entrance has curtains to walk through that makes you wonder what you're entering. The furniture has a higher-end look and the room has two complimentary bottles of Speyside Glenlivet water. However, the bed was very soft and there was no mini fridge. They also say that "extra towels" can be found at the foot of the bed but when you place one towel in the bathroom for two guests, one more towel isn't anything special. Nevertheless, a nice stay!

Yelp
We were given a voucher by my in laws to use at this hotel. We used the voucher to book the 'Friday at the Dakota' deal. £119 got us a cocktail on arrival,£20 each towards dinner, overnight stay and breakfast in the morning. Brilliant! We arrived after dark and the outside of the hotel looks really cool! The interior is gorgeous too. I got a 'gentlemen's living room' type feel from it. We really felt that we were staying somewhere 'fancy' We weren't offered our free cocktail when we arrived at the bar but we mentioned it to the waiter after being seated for dinner and free cocktails were served as we ordered food, which was delicious. A great selection on the menu for dinner and plenty to choose from at the breakfast table as well as a cooked breakfast menu. We found the service from all staff to be fantastic. I would recommend staying here or even dinner and cocktails. Though I can't comment on prices without the overnight deals.

Yelp
I've always heard good things about the Dakota hotel, but never been tempted to go. Whenever I think 'where will I go for dinner tonight?' the Dakota doesn't quite jump to mind. But it should have... When I eventually made it to the Dakota I was blown away. I was there with my mum as there was a deal on - 'just the two of us', dinner bed and breakfast for £139. Bargain! The restaurant is really nice, with a wall dedicated to The Rat Pack and heaps of photographs everywhere. It was really nice. The food was delicious too - I had crab then lemon sole with veg. The restaurant prides itself on its fresh fish (it has won many awards) and the pork belly - which my mum said was the best meal she'd had in years. Although it was quite far out, the restaurant was packed. It was a victim of its own success to a point, however, as there were lots of queues and people waiting around. I was disappointed in the breakfast however, they ran out of croissants, sausages and marmalade. GUTTED!

Yelp
A masculine decor with pleasant staff. They are always willing to appease clients. Quaint and very quiet rooms. Room service food is upper cuisine quality. Presentation is refreshing with attention to detail.

Yelp
The Dakota Forth bridge hotel is one of the newer hotels in South Queensferry. We have been in it once for a meal and found that it looked really nice, however we found the meals to be a bit too overpriced with a bowl of soup coming in at £8.00. Rooms are usually around £100 or more, however they do have special rates every so often. During high season it would be very unlikely to find the cheaper prices. The hotel dos seem to be aimed at business people looking for an overnight stay close to the airport, however I'm sure they could find something around the same price but a lot closer to the airport!

Yelp
Really good value if you can get into Edinburgh from here - much, much more comfortable, modern accomodation than you will find elsewhere for the money. Similar vibe to the W chain in the US if you are familiar with that - the restaurant focuses on fresh fish and was quite full, so book in advance if you want to try it. Next to a grocery store if you have any requirements for snacks/fruit etc. for the room. I'd definitely stay here again if the opportunity arose.

Yelp
I have eaten here once and found it very well worth the price of £120 for a meal for four with wine. It is a new hotel on the outskirts of the town - very modern in appearance both inside and out. The dining room had a separate area for private dining that was also part of the main dining area. We found the waiter very helpful and very knowledgeable about it items on the menu. did try to book again but on the same day we wanted to dine and as we expected they were full. Have never seem the bedrooms but if they are as good as the public area the hotel would be a great place for a weekend base - you would need a car however

Yelp
Amazing food! Quite simply put; I would recommend this place to anyone. I was visiting a relative and we went for dinner there as a special treat. We were not disappointed. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was spot on. The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant, even for a mid-week booking, was full of civilised patrons. The menu is on the pricey side compared to some places, but not wildly expensive. You do however get what you pay for. The steaks we had were outstanding, and coupled with fresh seafood to go with it, was a meal to remember. With four of us all having steak, wine and a few side orders, the bill came to about £140. The only negative is that I wouldn't order the side dish of seafood to go with the steak. £11 for three small baby langoustines is not what I call value for money. A couple more would have been acceptable. Again this place comes with a very high recommendation.
