"With its black brick façade and box hedges, this boutique hotel wouldn’t look out of place in NYC. Sleek, spacious bedrooms have good comforts and the professional staff make it feel like a home-from-home. On the first floor there’s a cocktail bar; in the basement, classics and grills are brought up-to-date." - Tablet Hotels

I've used the Dakota hotels extensively over the last 15 years or so, they were always brilliant. However this time was a little different. The hotel itself was brilliant as usual, the staff were excellent, friendly and very accommodating, but even for all that, this visit left a bitter taste. We always upgrade to at least an executive room, as these always provided a little bit more, larger beds, more space, a seating area and a complimentary mini bar. However this time, it's wasn't as much of a mini bar, but rather a meanie bar! The bar is usually well stocked with a selection of drinks and snacks. This time there were only 2 beers, 3 soft drinks and two bottles of water. The snacks were "fruit snacks" and spiced peanuts. Pretty poor, considering my wife doesn't drink beer! We spoke to reception, as we assumed that the bar hadn't been stocked, who informed us that this was part of the cost cutting going on! They kindly swapped out the beers for wine. Cocktails in Jack's bar and breakfast in the restaurant were both excellent.

We booked a suite for a Sunday night in September. The suite was fantastic. It was very roomy and very well decorated. In fact it was perfect. It also had a complimentary mini bar - although we did question that the fridge was working. We asked for an ice bucket and it was no problem. The location is also great. Our only complain was the breakfast. Our only experience of the food. It was poor at best. My wife had the eggs Benedict - I was embarrassed for the waitress when she took it through. My full Scottish was similar. Both were dismal (I don't use this term often)... In summary the room was perfect, everything was exceptional about it - However, I'm never eating there again!

The Dakota in Glasgow was a great hotel. Everything was nice and clean, and the rooms were decorated beautifully and very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. We were even upgraded to an executive suite, which made the trip feel extra special. The only small downside is that the location is a little out of the way from the city center, but the walk still felt safe and easy enough.

I absolutely loved this hotel. Upon arriving on a wet evening, the staff was super friendly, understood my dry humour, and immediately put us in a great room. I immediately ordered room service after a long travel day from France to Glasgow, food was great quality at a great price. The water pressure was perfect, the restroom products provided were complete pleasure, and even dining at the restaurant the last morning before depature was excellent. Felt more like a 5 star in my opinion, and I am a fairly well traveled man. THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY GLASGOW STAY MEMORABLE, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Stayed hear a few days as a base hotel for a wedding I was attending, it’s a fantastic hotel dined on 2 of the nights and the food was very good so were the cocktails. |Breakfast was lovely and the shower in the room was one of the best I’ve experienced on my travels. I found the staff very friendly and especially Katie on reception who was a great help. Will definitely book again if back in Glasgow

I had a wonderful four-night stay at Dakota Glasgow. The hotel is compact, very stylish, and perfectly located, making it so easy to walk into town and explore the city. My room was amazing and the bed extremely comfortable. Every member of staff was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. The cocktails were fantastic, and breakfast was high-quality and freshly made each morning. The staff were also fantastic, friendly, welcoming and seemed genuinely interested in why we were staying and making recommendations - they were very professional As a travel professional, experiencing the hotel first-hand was invaluable, and I can confidently recommend Dakota Glasgow to anyone looking for a stylish city break with exceptional service. I’ll be returning in November and can’t wait to stay again.

Very nice hotel with bar and restaurant close to the city center. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Well appointed rooms. We opted for the Classic room. While comfortable, it was a bit on the smallish side. Not really a problem as we didn’t spend much time there. Would recommend upgrading if you plan to spend time in the room and if in budget. The breakfast was good with several options. My wife has a number of food allergies and was well taken care of with numerous food options. The wait staff were excellent with respect to food allergy awareness. We ate one night at the Dakota Grill. Atmosphere was nice and the food was very good. I had the ribeye and my wife had the filet. The temperature on both was spot on. The sides will feed two. Wait staff were prompt and efficient despite appearing slightly understaffed (an issue we observed throughout our trip around Scotland). The bar was relatively quiet and comfortable with a decent selection. Prices were comparable to other places we visited. Proximity to the city center was a real bonus. Would definitely stay at the Dakota in Glasgow again.

Daytime staff were great. Rooms were really nice and clean. Night staff sucked. Also their laundry service is incredibly expensive so recommend using the steam shop. They pick up, drop off and did same day service for a fraction of the cost. If we used Dakota it would have been around 200+ pounds for the steam shop it was 27 pounds. Also if you order take out like McDonald's they sure give you glares and looks and night crew won't let them up. Oh they say on the site it's a king bed but I'm not convinced that to be true. It was comfortable though.

Yelp
I stayed at the Dakota with my wife back in 2022. I recently went to a conference at work and it reminded me about how much I liked staying at the Dakota. I dont remember how we found it online, but I am glad we did. The room had a great feel. I really enjoyed the way it was lit. It was definitely well thought out, in respect to lighting design. I would 100% stay again.

Yelp
Beautiful, stylish, cozy luxury hotel. I only expected to stay at a nice place but what I got was that plus a service level and kindness that transcended my tough travel experience into a wonderfully peaceful one. The desk attendant was psychic. She read my vibe and completely transformed it. She went way above and beyond. Sent up a glass of wine, offered to do laundry same night because British Airways lost my bag. It was amazing. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The food was incredible. I loved it there!!! Please stay at a Dakota hotel!!!!

Yelp
The Dakota Deluxe is only missing one star for me because it lacks a spa (but I am rather picky). Other than that this place is an excellent new addition to Glasgow's hotel scene. I was lucky enough to be shown round all the different styles of rooms. The standard room is very reasonably priced at around £120/night, it is luxurious and very swanky indeed, personally I think it is the best value for money and not too different to the other more expensive rooms. There is one room 'The suite' that comes in at £750/night, its like a little apartment, much bigger in size and it has an adjoining door which can be shut and an area that can be used for business meetings. The colour scheme is very on trend with a mixture of shades of grey. I really liked the interior design, in the downstairs restaurant there is a 'Jack' theme; all the pictures on the walls are different celebrities with the name Jack - some trickier than others to recognize. I think my favorite room was 'The library' were you can see a selection of cigars and can order drinks to your table, its a small room fitting around 50 people, excellent for private parties. The food is top notch, I had scallops, followed by a monkfish curry and then a couple of tasty cocktails. The menu too is reasonably priced considering you feel like you are in Manhatten in some swish restaurant. The Dakota Deluxe will not disappoint!

Yelp
This place will go down as one of my favourite hotel stays ever! The staff are friendly and inviting, the entire place is chill, understated but classy and cozy. The room is small but the space is maximized, the bed was big, raised up and comfy af! It doesn't feel or look like a hotel room, I felt like I was a guest at a very rich friend's house. I actually wish my bedroom was that legit! We spent sometime in the bar/lounge and it was very cool, lots of seats but still intimate. They had the most delicious cocktails, one of my favourites was a Rhubarb Gin drink My husband made it down to the Restaurant for breakfast and said the food was really good so there's that too. All in all, a legit hotel and I'd definitely stay there again.

Yelp
Loved our stay here at the Dakota! The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and thorough. We started our Scotland vacation here and we are more than grateful. With a great use of mirrors and lighting, the room feels like a modern designer bedroom rather than your typical hotel stay. The bathroom waterfall shower is an added bonus! I really appreciated the USB outlets located in the room for our cell phones so we didn't have to use our plug converters.

Yelp
Wow - Dakota brings something really fresh and special to the heart of Glasgow with their new Deluxe hotel just off Blythswood Square. We'd stayed at the Eurocentral Hotel a while back and were really impressed, so booked in for an early dinner to visit this one. It's only been open 4 weeks but the only way you'd really know is by how fresh and pristine the furnishings are. The staff are really slick and professional, and you'd never guess they were all pretty much new to the business (some staff have moved over from Eurocentral/Edinburgh). As you might guess from the outside of the building, the interior is dark, masculine and yet cosy. We had a drink in the bar and were really well looked after by the staff who were so professional yet chatty and friendly. The cocktail menu is impressive and I really enjoyed the passionfruit punch which I think was around £8. There's few bars in Glasgow as classy and refined as this one - here, it's not about being "seen", which is trap a lot of other places have fallen into (snooze). It's discreet and comfortable, perfect for being able to enjoy a drink and properly relax. We were in the bar for about half an hour and it was amazingly relaxing. We then headed down for dinner - we were the only people dining as we were eating at 5.30pm. There's leather booths and again, dark timber decor but really nicely done so it's very classy and slick. The menu is very traditional - there's nothing really that "out there" in terms of adventurous food. As we were limited with how much time we had, we just had mains - I had the special fish of the day, sea bass with jersey royals, spinach and hollandaise and Graeme had the chicken kiev. The sea bass was amazing. Probably the best sea bass I've ever eaten - the skin was cooked so perfectly that it was really rich and crispy while the flesh was still soft and succulent. The accompaniments were all lovely but the real side-highlight was the dauphinoise potatoes. Utter cheesy perfection. Our bill for a main each and sides, a cocktail each and a carafe of wine came to £70 which we both agreed was really great value. Next time we'll go back for a more relaxed meal! I need to mention again just how great the staff were - John, the restaurant manager was really friendly and chatty, and made sure we were looked after perfectly. I can't wait to go back and we'll probably stay over next time!

Yelp
A designer's dream hotel, as if Massimo Vignelli and Giorgio Armani decided to take thousands of bolts of dark gray cashmere and build an icon to sleek, cozy, deep rich comfort. I've been here twice, and I love it as much as any hotel I've visited anywhere. The Bar and Grill both get ***** as well. Curl up in luxury.

Yelp
This is such a great establishment! My wife and friends enjoyed a three day holiday here and ate breakfast and dinner here every day of our stay. I can only say that the food service and staff are top notch and we truly enjoyed every aspect of our stay.
