Dakota Hotel Manchester

Faultless. That’s coming from someone who loves to find fault in things, but honestly this hotel hit the mark every time. The valet parking was really worth the money and the little touches when you get back in the car were so lovely. We also wanted to say, how polite all the valet parking staff were - genuinely nice people. We were supposed to stay for one night but ended up staying for two. On the second night we wanted a table in the restaurant but it was fully booked (we hadn’t planned to be there and called late in the day) - which we didn’t mind as we were up for also having a night in and getting room service, I honestly couldn’t believe how well cooked the steak was for a room service steak. We asked for the cauliflower side which wasn’t on the menu, they said they don’t offer it was it doesn’t travel well but we asked if we could have it regardless - they obliged and honestly it was SO DELICIOUS. If that’s what it’s like having traveled I would have loved to have it in the restaurant. The rooms were so nice, we had a suite and it’s one of the most well kept suites I’ve stayed in. Only thing is, the robes were a little on the small side.. my husband is quite skinny and average height - it was so hilariously tiny on him he had to take it off lol. I would post the picture but he’d kill me. Some new, big fluffy bath robes for next time please!! You’ve made repeat customers out of us we can’t wait to come back!

We stayed at this hotel on a Sunday evening, it was a short walk from the train station where we arrived in the city. First impressions were that the place was warm, modern and discreet. We were greeted with a smile by the girl on reception and check-in was easy and swift, without asking she immediately arranged for our bags to be taken to the room. We then relaxed with a drink in the cosy champagne lounge before going to our room. The lounge was very comfortable and we were very quickly greeted by a waitress to take our order. Our room was on the 6th floor and we had stunning views of the city skyline. The room itself was warm and spotlessly clean, spacious and furnished to a standard that we have come to expect from the hotels in this group that we have visited previously. The food in the Grill restaurant was superb as was the breakfast the following day. This was a Birthday treat weekend and I was made to feel special from the time I arrived until the moment we left, they even left me a personalised card in the room. A wonderful stay and hopefully not my last!

Been here numerous times and can honestly say I have never been disappointed. Always a warm welcome by staff on arrival, Checked in by a very friendly and helpful receptionist and our bags were taken off us to be taken to our room. We then relaxed in the champagne bar where staff were prompt to take our order and bring our drinks. We booked a suite as we were celebrating a birthday and wanted to make it special and it was more than that, The room was pure luxury and the staff had gone out of their way to add special little touches. Evening meal in The Grill was of a very high standard, thoroughly enjoyed by us both as was breakfast the following morning. A big thank you to all at Dakota and look forward to our next visit.

First off I want to start and say this hotel is beautiful to look at and very aesthetically pleasing. I’ve wanted to go here for a long time after seeing lots of hype over it on social media. However when we got there it just didn’t live up to the expectations. We tried to call down numerous times to order room service and when we got put through they would just automatically cut us off this went on for a while until reception had to then just take our order. For the price you pay you’d expect better parking facilities and check in/ out time we checked in at 3 and had to leave by 11 if we wanted to stay till 1 it was extra money… I just feel it was such an expensive hotel you shouldn’t had to pay extra to stay for 2 more hours as 3-11 is quite ridiculous tbh. This trip was for valentines and our anniversary, also staff look down their nose at you and constantly look you up and down when you walk in/out felt uncomfortable and would never go here again unfortunately. The room also didn’t even have any TV programmes or facilities, like mentioned before you’d think for the price you pay you’d be getting more for your money. Was freezing in the room too and we paid extra for a filled fridge wouldn’t even bother they claim you get snacks and drinks we got a pack of biscuits a few beers and coke. I rang down to ask if we could have some more water and coke as we don’t drink alcohol and they clearly weren’t happy about it!

Went for breakfast at a friend's recommendation as this is a 4 star hotel. Breakfast actually pretty good but although not busy, service so slow we didn't get our coffee order for over 45 minutes so decided to leave. Admittedly the staff were very apologetic after and fixed the bill but expect more from 4 star place. Food is good though can't comment on the coffee!

The all black building lets you know you are in for something different. Inside, the lobby has an elegant, subterranean atmosphere with scattered art works that piques one’s interest. Towards the back of the lobby you’ll find the restaurant, stylish fittings and indirect lighting creates a trendy intimate vibe. The service is attentive and to a good standard. Rooms are of a high quality, have heated bathroom floors and most enjoy a view of the canal. Worth noting the bed is on the softer side which I found comfortable. The valet service might seem expensive but it’s worth the extra cash given the security and added surprises left in the car. No gym, but a free pass are offered to the local pure gym. The location is brilliant for the vibrant Northern Quarter, Piccadilly train station and Central. Overall the hotel has a modern elegant feel and would highly recommend

Hotel is beautiful. Bed stunning with soft sheets, lovely mattress and delicate throws. Bathroom and shower gorgeous. Staff attentive but calm. Not pretentious but elegant. Breakfast beautiful with fragrant fresh coffee. ….. now Uber to work, presentation to give, then home refreshed.

The hotel and staff are truly excellent. This is luxury, although we did not use the restaurant, almost everything else was true luxury (Mrs G chose it - so of course it was!!). One small thing - onsite parking is VERY limited and is £40 per night. The website recommends the Q-Park in Piccadilly and affects a 10% discount but the code is not accepted and the staff recommend a much close car park when you arrive (and have already prepaid at Q-Park!! Please update the website guys. Would we stay again - yes please :)

Best gnocchi ever!! We had a fantastic experience at this hotel and restaurant. The accommodations were outstanding with many complimentary items including gin and tonic included in the refrigerator and the staff was very welcoming. The room was upscale and housekeeping was quick to respond to special requests like for extra pillows or a US charge converter. We decided to try the dining room and it did not disappoint. With many gins featured on the menu we happily ordered martinis but the highlight was the gnocchi with mushrooms and spinach - and the staff honored our special request to also add chicken. This was the best gnocchi by far that we have ever had! It was crisp on the outside but creamy on the inside like soft creamy cheese. The sauce and mushrooms with it were fantastic. I usually do not order gnocchi because they typically are like hard little pellets or shot puts. This really brought the idea of gnocchi to whole new experience. I hope this hip and sophisticated hotel keeps doing what it is doing.

We didn't have reservations, but the host accommodated us. We had no expectations because we noticed that there weren't many yelp reviews . We were very pleasantly surprised with the deliciousness of our entrees. We then decided to have dessert and it was just as good. I definitely recommend this restaurant. The ambience is exceptional and so was the food.

Really Great venue badly let down by poor Ribeye Steak. I have previously visited Dakota for Sunday Lunch and a return visit was over due after restrictions were lifted. Upon arrival we were initially shown to a table for 3 which was directly opposite the open door to the terrace. As a strong breeze was blowing we asked for another table away from the draft. This was sorted straight away and made for a much more comfortable environment. Orders for food and drink were quickly taken and it was not long till the starters arrived. I had the ham hock Terrine which was over all very well presented and over all was of very good quality and taste. Sadly this turned out to be the highlight of the meal. I ordered the ribeye steak which I have eaten many times in high end steak restaurants and is my goto steak. Unfortunately what arrived was very below par. The first problem and what probably lead to the other issues was the steak had been cut very thin. This meant, although the steak had been cooked medium like I had asked, the fat had not cooked through properly resulting in large pieces of fat remaining. Also as a result of the short cooking the me the steak had not been allowed to char on the outside resulting in sub standard flavour. My Dad had the fillet which by contrast was a loverly think piece which did not suffer from the many issues of being a thin cut. Dakota receive their steak from Donald Russell butchers in Scotland so it arrives frozen and they are at the mercy of what they send down. Whilst the thin cut fries were not my usual style they were nice along with the shallots. The win list was very good and they had my favourite Mendoza region Malbec at a good price. I decided not to have a pudding after the very poor steak. To sum up. Loverly venue, very good service but alas I cannot recommend the Ribeye as for the price it was really very poor for anyone used to visiting high end steak venues.

Clearly new. Bar staff need a little hurry up and know what they are selling but otherwise welcoming and friendly. The hotel is well furnished with a good location. Prices are what you would expect from a high end hotel but are reasonable prices. Happily service reflects the charge. Check in was very easy and efficient. Manger knows her stuff and amenities were of a good quality. Will defiantly come back.

Was quite shocked to log on here and see Dakota Manchester rated as 2.5/5. Having stayed here twice in a week I was blown away by the location, quality, rooms, bar, food and service. My first stay was in a standard room and the quality of fixtures & fittings along with the linens, toiletries and facilities in the room were first class. My second stay was in a junior suite which was just beautiful, 5 star plus. Thoughtful amenities in the room, complimentary mini bar, lovely balcony. My only negative about the room would be the tv, mirror tv which isn't that good for watching. The bar and restaurant are first class. Great offerings with great service day and night. I stay in Manchester a lot and Dakota will be my base for sure.
