Stayed in this hotel almost two weeks ago. We checked in late (close to 9pm) and were trying our luck to see if they are still serving dinner at the hotel restaurant. To our surprise, a restaurant staff managed to call the chef to cook us a sumptuous meal although they were already closed! Kudos to the restaurant staff. Hotel wise, the room was clean and neat, and they have quite a number of facilities including a lounge, recreational room and a pool. We were lucky to catch the northern lights just past midnight right at the carpark and were very pleased with the experience!

This place is a little off the beaten path, but it was a nice way to end our trip on the ring road. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and quite nice. They and the breakfast were pretty standard compared to all the other places we stayed on our trip. We didn't use the restaurant, so no insight on that one. The hot spring on site is big enough for 5ish people comfortably. There is a lot of hiking and foot paths accessible from the hotel, which have some fantastic views. One thing to note is that, at least in our rooms, the showers were quite small and took a little dexterity to use. Not too bad though. There are also a lot of various amenities including the pool, hot tub, sitting lounge, and game room. Overall, a very nice and enjoyable experience.

Quiet and clean hotel with lots of facilities which allow guests to enjoy. We arrived at the hotel late (after 9pm) and the hotel restaurant was still able to serve us food that was way beyond our expectations - the waitress was extremely kind and helpful. We were also able to catch the northern lights which was a pleasant surprise considering the time of the year (August). Overall, we are very pleased with our stay here.

Great hotel, with very friendly staff. We had dinner at the hotel, and it was delicious. They also have a geothermal pool that is wonderful.

This is a hotel in the middle of nowhere that offers itself with a restaurant.|Check in was functionary - the person behind the desk was on her mobile phone (also at checkout) and that doesn’t set a good tone. We were offered to book a table at the restaurant which we accepted.|The room was small and basic. The beds need replacing as both my wife and I felt we were sloping to one side. Bathroom was tiny and dated.|The food in the restaurant for dinner was excellent. |Walking around the grounds the buildings looked tired and will need significant investment. |Breakfast was poor. Limited choice and quality.|This could be a fabulous place as it’s in a lovely setting, but money will need to be spent to do this.

We got caught in a storm with our car+rooftop tent. Went there to ask for a bathroom and got told immediately to stay, relax and use amenities until the storm would be over. Owners and staff are extremely friendly and will do everything to make you feel at home. Haven‘t met people with such a big heart in a long time. Forever grateful for how much they cared about two frozen, foreign campers!

Rooms were clean. Place is older but clean and quaint. Mineral spring next door was an experience for sure. Has a small bar in the lobby. Family owned and run. Breakfast was fresh and complimentary.

This is a mixed review to write, so stay with me! First, let's start with our room. We are finishing our 10-day Ring Road tour, so we chose the nicest rooms they offered. Our room was spacious, private shower & toilet, TV & even a closet. The beds had memory foam that made sleeping delightfully restful! 10/10 Unfortunately, it stings a little to mention the rest of our stay here. According to other reviews, this was looking like it might be a highlight if our Icelandic adventure, but this was not our experience. :( Some things were out of their control, but others could be addressed. We decided on dinner in the restaurant. Taste: I ordered the Seafood Soup. I felt like this was heated up in a microwave. Bland, not savory. 2/10. Presentation: Served in an adorable crock with delicious fresh bread. 10/10 Taste: Hubby ordered the Fish and Chips. Crust was greasy and undercooked, almost gooey. Fish inside was fresh & delicious, though! 5/10 Presentation: Typical Fish & Chips 5/10 Dining Experience: For what we paid, this was extremely frustrating. Unattended kids ran through the restaurant, continuously screaming. The restaurant is a hallway that connects the dormitory with the game room, so there was no avoiding it. Not relaxing or romantic in the least. Felt like a Holiday Inn or Budget hotel. 0/10 Viking Hot Springs: WOW. The wow factor of just the history behind this hot springs is unreal. We felt honored to have the opportunity to enjoy this little gem. It is supported by pure donations and is just beautiful. 7/10 Overall: 6/10, do not recommend staying in the hotel or dining, but maybe camping might provide a better experience? We were sad that this was so disappointing.
