Great stay! They have a few guest houses on either side of the road—likely part of an expansion. We stayed in a room on the side opposite the restaurant and reception. The room felt like a modern cabin and was well-decorated. It had lovely views, came with robes, toiletry bags (including toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.), and welcoming chocolates—just like a real hotel. Our room shared a wall with another but we didn't hear them much unless they were showering, it's an interesting townhouse/cabin-style setup. You must try the restaurant! Guests are asked to place their food orders by 4 p.m. on the day of arrival if they plan to dine in. It’s a small operation with kind of open kitchen. We had the chicken burger and the fish of the day (cod), both of which were delicious. But the best part was the whole roasted potato—absolutely incredible and melt in your mouth. Breakfast was excellent as well.

Stunning. We only had night, but wished we'd stayed longer. Beautiful setting in a secluded valley, with amazing views. They have 6 new lodges, each with a small terrace and great views over the valley. The rooms were super comfortable, with bathrobes, small fridges and even wine glasses to enjoy a drink! Shower was also fantastic! We ate at the small onsite restaurant, which is where the reception is and a few minutes walk from the lodges. Food was good - they send you a menu a few days in advance and ask you to confirm your order before 4pm on the day you arrive. Worked well and we enjoyed the food! Special mention to the young polish lady who greeted us and cooked for us! I can't remember her name (sorry!), but she gave us some great recommendations of things to do the following day and in Reykjavik. They were all great tips!

This was one of our favorite stays in Iceland. Room was fantastic and offered a lovely view. Chef Darria (for dinner) made us our favorite meal of our trip and was incredibly kind and helpful with recommendations for our trip. The other chef during breakfast, whose name we didn’t catch, was also lovely and hospitable. Overall a wonderful stay!

We had an amazing stay at this place! The houses are beautifully designed with high quality materials and are perfectly heated, making them super cozy and comfortable. The surrounding scenery is absolutely stunning! The host was friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home and the breakfast was simply delicious. The road to get there isn’t the easiest, but it’s absolutely worth it once you arrive. Plus, the sky is dark enough to see the northern lights and we were lucky enough to witness them - an unforgettable experience! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and high-quality stay.

Amazing rooms, amazing people and amazing food. If u want to be amidst the beautiful mountain ranges as close to nature as possible, this is the place to be. The cabins are comfy and have all basic necessities for all weathers. Not to forget, you will be in for a treat if you want to see the northern lights.

Such a peaceful place with amazing scenery. Very well put together studio rooms with everything you need. The main restaurant building has been restored very nicely and the resident sheep will greet you when you arrive. Highly recommend for a peaceful nights sleep

Probably one of the best places to stay in Iceland. My wife and I stayed there several years ago and made sure to revisit this hotel. It was just as good as we remembered. Great rooms with great views of the sky for Northern Light viewings. The location is a bit off the beaten path, but it's worth it as there are very little lights around at night. Do yourself an absolute favor and make it to the location in time for dinner at night. The owner is practically a chef and I was dreaming of her dinner since our first visit. Dinner was just as good as I remember it. Breakfast is also definitely worth waking up for! Our second visit will most definitely not be our last! Looking forward to staying here again!

Very nice proprietor. The views were remarkable. Tiny comfy biplex cabin. Great starting point for a trip around the peninsular. No TV, but none needed. We lucked out with great northern lights display. Nice breakfast. Lobby is in the back of the quonset hut building. Google Maps did a good job getting us there.
