I had an awesome experience at this hotel. The food was delicious. The ambiance felt amazing with good vibes all around. The staff were very polite and the service was quick. The restaurant was clean, well-decorated and had a comfortable seating arrangement. The menu is well- designed with varieties of food and price was reasonable too. I am sure that I will be visiting Dalai-La again in future and recommend to my friends and families. In overall, the restaurant is in favorable location for those who want to have a good time fooding.

A hidden gem in the midst of bustling Thamel, Dalai La is an excellent property for both business as well as vacation. The location is excellent since Thamel is the shopping district. Most sights are easily accessible from the hotel by taxi. Though the property has a large number of rooms, the place gives a sense of calm unhurried serenity, and doesn't feel crowded. The staff is helpful and courteous, accommodating most requests of guests. Since this is a leisure hotel, the service is (as it should be) unhurried - if you are in a hurry, remember to inform the staff and they will serve you quickly. The restaurant is excellent, and though the menu is not very wide, it caters to local as well as global tastes. Strongly recommend.

I visit Nepal one or two times every year. I have stayed in dozens of different hotels in Kathmandu over the past 20 years, but since discovering this place, I’ll never stay anywhere else again. The location right in central Thamel is so practical. The garden courtyard design gives the hotel a very peaceful oasis vibe. The rooms are beautifully appointed. The inclusion of local artists gives the place a uniquely elevated feel. The breakfast and cappuccino are top notch. The staff always goes above and beyond to make you feel taken care of and right at home. It’s a tranquil hidden gem of a boutique hotel.

I have stayed at Dalai-la numerous times and love it!! The location in Thamel with solitude and 24/7 security and an amazing staff make it the ONLY place I will stay in Kathmandu. Included breakfast, airport transfers, and smiles everywhere make staying here easy. Staff members like Puru and Dharmendra are the best to put up with hauling all the stuff I inevitably bring. Chef Prem and his staff create divine food for all palettes. This hotel is as good as it gets in Kathmandu.

I recently enjoyed a memorable dinner at the Dalai-laBoutiqueHotel, and I must say the culinary experience was exceptional. While the ambiance and service were lovely, the true highlights of the evening were three standout dishes that I highly recommend to any future guest. The Veg Momo were hands-down the best I have ever tasted—perfectly steamed, incredibly tender, and packed with aromatic spices and fresh vegetables. They were truly bursting with flavor. Next, the crispy, savory Potato Skins were phenomenal; they offered a fantastic texture and a rich, satisfying topping that made them utterly irresistible. Finally, the Mushroom Soup deserves a special commendation. It was a masterpiece of richness and creaminess, featuring a deep, earthy flavor that provided the perfect comforting warmth. These three items alone make this restaurant a destination worth visiting. A definite five-star experience!

Was here few times before with friends and had a great dinning along with music. This time went solo and had the best Veg Momo and the hot Coffee. Really love the peaceful ambience of the hotel and the delicious foods that makes me feel like visiting over again.
