Staying at D'Alcantara is like staying at the home you wish you had. D'Alcantara is a boutique hotel, nested in a number of adjacent refurbished buildings in the middle of Tournai. A myriad of stairs connecting the rooms to the lobby and guest area, make D'Alcantara a little maze. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, clean and modern, all with their very own identity and styling. While the hotel does not offer diner opportunities, the bar and superior breakfast make up for it. Besides, being located just a few minutes away from Tournai's grand place, access to various dining locations is guaranteed. The hotel is operated by a small team of genuinely friendly staff. The more you stay at D'Alcantara the more you'll feel at home!

We were very pleased to have found this hip little hotel, which is very centrally located in Tournai, for a midweek overnight stay. We received a great welcome from the reception team, and were introduced to our own personal 'Disco'. (The name of our room.) The hotel was just a short walk away from the main square, which offered lots of bars and eating opportunities. There was no problem gaining access to the hotel later on in the evening, as some other reviewers have commented. We spent a comfortable night, though being on the ground floor meant that we did get a bit of noise from the street, though not enough to disturb us significantly. Breakfast was very good, with excellent pastries. A big plus for us was being able to park the motorbike in the hotel's small courtyard, which was secured overnight, by arrangement.

Stayed for 4 nights on a motorbike trip. Friendly and helpful staff. Let us keep the bikes in the courtyard. Rooms were clean and comfortable, but unfortunately, there were noisy road works that started early in the morning outside. Free coffee and tea available throughout the day.

I stayed for a one night business trip and was delighted by my stay! The greeting was polite and efficient, including a brief overview of the hotel.||A major highlight was the incredible charming and helpful staff! They helped me arrange dinner reservations, provided a bicycle to borrow for the evening, and some arrangements for the following day.|Breakfast was perfect! It was a continental breakfast, but still enough options with eggs, cheese, meats, and outstanding baked items.||The room was consistent with hotel level, and everything was very clean and perfectly comfortable.|I had a room overlooking the garden, which was wonderful and quiet.||I will gladly return to this hotel in the future…a charming gem!

Sorry to say, this was the worst of the 5 hotels we stayed in during our recent visit to Belgium. From the reviews I checked before booking I expected better. I booked two rooms and to be fair, one of the rooms was far better than the other. Our room was on the ground floor directly on the busy street outside. Luckily it wasn't too bad from a noise perspective but for what I paid, I expected a better quality of room. The breakfast is not complimentary as per the TA website. Car parking is limited and you have to pay so we opted for the underground parking just up the street for Euro 10 for 24 hrs. which was reasonable.

the hotel closes at 9pm, in order for you to gain access to the lobby you need to provide a 4 digit code (DOB). I gave the number confirmed it and checked to be certain it worked which it did . Got to the hotel after dinner at 1030pm and the code did not work. The phone number they ask you to call, calls the front desk which is closed!! we sat outside for over an hour and finally another guest arrived and provided us access. DO NOT STAY HERE if you plan on having dinner. Horrible experience, they should be ashamed of their customer service

We have booked our room on the same day and we were warmly welcomed by the reception. The service of the hotel is great , the location is just perfect. Breakfast is rich with great choices. We are a family of 5 and we have enjoyed very much our 1 night stay as a stop over to Pairi Daiza Zoo.

Cold rooms, they have to save energy was the Feedback. You have to beg them to increase the room temperature. Room from colleague the heating was not functioning at all, after 2 days fixed |Old rooms, refurbishment needed |Room on ground floor next to busy street |FiWi - what is that ? Only at reception|Poor breakfast, like a 70 € 2 star hotel and not 140 € , in Tournai. Tournai ??? This is not Brussels, Ghent or Bruge !!!|No parking, 6 places, always full.|TV only Local stations. |1 good thing - location, in downtown, but this has nothing to do with the service
