Daldongnae - Kensington Market

It opens at noon, and we made a reservation, but the lunch crowd wasn't full. It's an old building, but the interior was very clean, with a slightly bourgeois style. The meat is extremely fresh and immaculately prepared. Various cold dishes are served in small stainless steel bowls, with modest portions. Except for the cold noodles, all other cold dishes come with complimentary refills. The soup portions are reasonable and can be refilled once. The various side dishes are very effective at cutting through the richness. Both the soup and noodles have a mildly spicy and pronounced flavor, which suits younger palates, and we found them quite acceptable as well. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but it's quite good. I'd personally recommend it.

First time at this location but second time trying this Korean BBQ chain. I came here with 2 others with no reservations, but was lucky enough to get a seat because it does get really busy. This place is amazing, the food, the atmosphere, and the service. Sides are refillable when you choose your grilling meats/protein (grilling your meat). We also ordered seafood pancake and soju, a good place for family style sharing. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

THE BEST KBBQ you will ever go to. you pay for the different cuts of meat, and then all the sides are free. the meat is the highest quality, and all the sides are exceptional. the variety of sides is so great too, they have: cheesy corn, egg, beansprouts, seaweed, spicy cucumber, glass noodle, etc. the price value for quality is more than fair, and everytime I leave I feel like they could charge double and I’d still be satisfied. the service is amazing, they are so kind and always come back around to make sure you are topped off on all your sides and will bring your request out within a minute usually.

Walking in Chinatown area I was thinking where to stop for late lunch. By the time my sister & I decided to stop we were in front of this place. Quickly checked the reviews and thought it best to enter. It wasn't full, only two tables occupied by bigger groups who were all having barbecue on their tables. We decided to go for Beef Bulgogi. Since we weren't very hungry we shared the meal and glad that we did so as it was pretty big as it came. Loved every bit of it as it was flavourful. Found the beef slightly stringy. The rice was complementing everything. The pickled vegetables were fantastic. It's a gem of a place with a very pleasant server who was very helpful.

This place is my favourite Korean bbq, but this location was very clean, organized and new, loved the design downstairs. Highly recommended, the quality of meat at this place is higher than regular all you can eat meat like Chako, Korean Grill, Gyubee...

We are visiting from Vancouver and heard that Daldongnae had the best korean bbq in town and we had to try. it is the best. Everything was amazing. The place has such amazing vibes. Super nice hosts too. 10/10

We only had 1 hr for lunch from work and the manager was so nice to get everything ready for us to eat. The food was so delicious and everyone loved it. Gotta try their lunch menu and of course Korean BBQ too. I will definitely come again. Thank you! 😊

Love this location of the popular Korean BBQ chain! Super friendly service from all members of staff; clean and spacious restaurant to fit all group sizes. We got the pork belly and the beef short rib plus drinks and steamed rice. All the side dishes (kimchi, bean sprouts, seaweed salad, corn cheese, egg, lettuce, garlic, potato salad, etc.) are refillable except the complimentary soup and the glass noodles. It's a great place to go if you are hungry! The meat portions are very reasonable and more than enough, I recommend you go with a group and order 1-2 portions of meat per person, so you can share and try the different cuts of meat. Washrooms downstairs, inaccessible.

Don't let the potential wait deter you from Daldongnae. The Korean BBQ here is superb and truly authentic, with thick, flavorful cuts you grill yourself. Favorites were the pork belly and boneless beef rib that were quite juicy and tender. Every BBQ order includes generous complimentary dishes: steamed eggs, cheesy corn, Korean soup, sauces, and fresh lettuce (note: the japchae is the only thing you can't ask seconds for). Definitely a good place to come if you're craving BBQ.

I've only been to the Daldongae on Christie, North York, and this location. I was able to easily make a reservation for five people at this location by calling in on a weekend at 5 pm, and there was a lot of space available. We left 1.5 hours later, and there was still a lot of space. Food was comparable to the other locations - good quality meats and vegetables, with several banchan included. Some individuals in the party weren't the type to try new food but enjoyed their experience here. Service was attentive and amazing from Rache and the other servers that day. Our grill was changed twice, and they were very quick when we ordered additional things. There was a nice interior, and the washroom was also very clean. Overall, we are very happy with our experience at this location! Accessibility: The washroom is downstairs and only accessible by stairs, no automatic door opener, paid street parking is available depending on the time, accessible by transit.

We ordered three meats, the marinaded pork and beef, and the wagyu, all absolutely delicious cuts when grilled to perfection paired with the bonchon/side dishes. The Bibimbap was quite nice paired with the sauce, soup was light, lettuce wraps were the highlight of the night. Service wasn't anything special but they were friendly. Hope to come again but the competition has same if not better prices for better quality.

I like the ambiance with the old 60s and 70s Korea themed decorations. Food was good. They refilled all the banchans (side dishes) and eggs, cheesy corn, and lettuce. We had plenty to eat. Parking in Chinatown can be a challenge but overall good experience

Service was great, even though they were short staffed and super busy. Food was amazing as well.
