Incredible experience! The atmosphere really made me feel like I was in Korea, super cozy and authentic. The food was delicious, with high-quality meat and a great variety of side dishes. The service was excellent the staff were friendly, fast, and made us feel very welcome. Everything was on point. I loved it and definitely want to come back. Highly recommend!

First time at a Korean BBQ, what an experience. We went without reservations on a Saturday night, had to wait for around 15 minutes. Unfortunately half of the proteins we wanted were sold out (chicken, etc), but we still had a good time. The weather was very hot that day and with the grill on, it was very very hot, so better ventilation would have been better. Otherwise the servers were attentive and nice. Corn side was delicious. So many complimentary sides! Would return

Google
Mixed experience here. I went it wanting to order the Vegan Table BBQ but realized that wouldn’t be possible going with people who aren’t also vegetarian. The grill is quite small; the surface area wouldn’t be able to fit meat on one side and veggie on the other side. Moreover, they use meat fat to grease the grill (but perhaps they have a substitute for vegetarians). I was disappointed I couldn’t order the Vegan Table BBQ but perhaps will go back to try with other vegetarians. Instead, I ordered the Spicy Cold Noodle Salad with Veggies ($20.99 for the large; $14.99 for the small), a very large portion but could use some more seasoning. I found the BBQ sides (egg, corn cheese, and the other five Korean staple side dishes) more flavorful. The quantity did not match the quality. I like the bustling, vibrant atmosphere but on the reverse side, the service was quite slow and inattentive. Even when you try to flag them down, they don’t always come since they aren’t paying attention to you. When I came to take extra pictures of the space, the wait staff were accommodating so I guess service quality depends on how busy it is. Having a bit more consistency would be great. Accessibility note: since the restaurant is on the second floor, you have to walk up a flight of stairs to get there.

We didn’t have to wait at all — we were seated right away. The food was delicious, and the Terra beer was ice cold and very tasty. We loved the meat side dishes (banchan), especially since you can request refills, cucumbers is sooooo delicious 🤤. The staff was very attentive and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. The place was clean and well-decorated, with a cozy and authentic atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Google
The place was great! The food tasted amazing! the service were really good as well! Some dishes cant be ordered together because of the type of “pan/grill” are different. So order wisely!

Went here on a date with a friend last week 🌚who recommended the place and wow, I’ve walked past this restaurant so many times without realizing what I was missing! The food was amazing, the portions were huge, and the meat was juicy and full of flavor. They even gave us large complimentary appetizers, which was such a nice surprise! The service is amazing!!

Google
I made a reservation and visited with three friends on a Thursday evening. After reading all the positive Google reviews, I was looking forward to the experience. We were seated quickly, and although the meats and the side dishes were decent, I didn’t like the soybean stew as much as those at other Korean BBQ spots I’ve tried. What disappointed me was the service. It was difficult to flag down a staff member, we had to ask for rice twice, and we struggled to use the dull scissors provided — we had to ask for another pair. At other Korean BBQ restaurants, staff often help you cook the meat at least to get started, but here we ended up doing everything ourselves despite asking for assistance. Another thing to note about this restaurant - they do not serve any desserts.

Google
Absolutely loved it. We ordered the beef hanging tender and rib finger meat—both were incredibly flavorful, juicy, and cooked to perfection on the charcoal grill. The complimentary sides were fresh and nicely balanced, and the service was fast and friendly. The vibe feels authentic, cozy, and energetic, just like you'd hope from a true Korean BBQ experience. Definitely one of the best KBBQ spots in Toronto. I’ll be coming back for sure!

Yelp
This place was great! I went with a group of friends and most of us had never done Korean bbq so the staff was super patient and helpful in suggesting the amounts we should pick and types of meats we should get! The ban Chan (side dishes) were just constantly coming and so there was just a lot of food the whole time, the meat selections were great and grilling was just a lot of fun! The location itself was pretty cool and styled to looked like an alleyway with signs and graft. Super cool and really interesting to look at! At the end of the night I was super full and the bill for 10 was really not that bad it broke down to like $35 USD a person which for what we got was more than reasonable! Would definitely come again

Yelp
Seoki (Seohee Hwang) was cool The service was very hands-on and offered special items not on the menu

Yelp
This place is great! It's not the BEST compared to other kbbq places I've been to, but the ambience feels very high energy, authentic, and a bit rustic. The food was really great and the service was great as well. Four stars only because they don't let you raise the heat of the grill that much. So takes longer for the meat to he ready--which means a little but of wait time. And as a korean, I want 0 wait time! It definitely affects the experience a little bit. I understand though because it's safer. If you want high quality meat and an authentic korean experience, come here!

Yelp
Probably the best Korean BBQ I have had so far in the Americas, which might mostly be because I don't have a lot of experience with it, but I thought everything was just so good! Among so many restaurants in Toronto, I believe that this is a very good one, especially since my friend, who is an expert in Korean food, took me here. Of course, we went with the famous table BBQ, and right off the bat I enjoyed the format of corn cheese, egg, garlic, and kimchi around the grill, as they would be heated up by the grill itself. And of course, complimentary dishes were always a plus, and I finished all of them. My friend and I picked boneless short rib beef and short plate beef, and both were amazing. We also had the green onion pancakes with seafood and the spicy soft tofu stew. I don't know what else to say other than that they tasted as good as I imagined it to be, because as long as they were authentic, they would be 5 stars in mind, and that fortunately did happen. My apologies for not being more descriptive. If you know what I mean, you know. Of course, we waited for a bit before we could be seated, and the line extended on the staircase, and that was how popular they were. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I have never been to this Daldongnae location until today, and I forgot how good it was. We went for lunch time so it was much emptier than I am used to. There were plenty of tables and I actually enjoyed the experience a bit more because it was less hectic and the ventilation was better as a result. With four people, we ordered four cuts of meat and the spicy squid salad. With two drinks and a bottle of soju, our total came out to $190- really fair! I do think DDN becomes much better value with a group of four or more. Each cut of meat was delicious and I actually appreciated how filling it was without being stuffed due to the a la carte ordering. The spicy squid salad was also a hit - the portion was amazing for the price. There wasn't too much squid but the salad itself was huge. The service was good, but slow at times considering there were only a few tables. My colleague waited over 10 mins for a replacement spoon after she dropped hers. The service did get better through the meal. Overall, loved the food and would visit this location again.

Yelp
Going to korean BBQ places like Daldongnae generally isn't just about food, it's more of an experience, the opportunity to catch up with friends while waiting for meat to cook, to test out your creative juices on how to enhance your protein, all over the gooey eggs and side dishes. As always, the cuts were tender, and while we got both I highly recommend the Jowel meat over the regular pork belly. Beef wise, the finger meat and the tenderloin were really beefy and tender.

Yelp
We decided to have Korean BBQ for dinner during our stay in Toronto, and this place did not disappoint. But make sure to make reservations and plan accordingly if you want to look for street parking. We were lucky enough to find a metered parking spot next to a local university. I ordered the pork belly (regular & thin sliced), beef boneless short rib, beef short plate (similar to bulgogi but w/o the marinate) recommended by our server and the wagyu rib eye roll plus a few bowls of Korean purple rice for us to share. We also got some banchan, lettuce, Korean corn cheese, steamed eggs, kimchi, spicy soup, and sauces, which were included. All the food tasted like authentic Korean style, and the service was excellent. However, portions could be bigger with a white rice option, and the dipping sauce for the meats wasn't that good. Highly recommend getting the wagyu items. The corn and eggs around the grill were really delicious. Pricing was in line with the service and food quality. Worth trying.

Yelp
Completely worthy of the hype! This Korean BBQ spot is a great place to meet with friends. You order a set and it comes with multiple side dishes including corn, egg, marinated cucumber, kimchi, seaweed, soup, lettuce. I had the vegan set which comes with many different vegetables, beyond meat sausage, and tofu for grilling. It made me feel actually somewhat healthy as there were many vegetables. There are also many meat options to choose from. The side dishes are very tasty, my favourite was the corn. The environment here is fast paced and bustling. The servers are very hard working, constantly running back and forth. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner here, so much so I came back the very next day. Prices are more than reasonable. Vegan set was $19.99 and most meat sets are $20-30.

Yelp
I've tried the North York location in the past, but this is the first time trying the Yonge/Dundas location. We showed up on a Saturday night as a party of 2 and were put on a waitlist with an estimated wait time of 20-30 mins; however, we were seated only 6 mins later which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered the boneless short rib (highly recommended) and the beef ribeye steak as our meats. The table BBQ includes 5 side dishes with unlimited refills (acorn jelly, spicy bean sprouts, spicy cucumber salad, seaweed with hot sauce, and pumpkin salad), a complimentary soybean stew, and free refills on corn cheese and steamed egg (heated on the sides of the grill). Lettuce also came on the side to make wraps with the meat. The dipping sauce was a delicious house-made sweet soy with marinated thinly-sliced onions. The stew was extremely flavourful and a bit spicy. My favourite cut of meat was the short rib due to the marbling of the fat, but the rib eye was also meaty and delicious. You can choose to season/dress the meat after as you wish, with either salt & pepper in sesame oil, soy sauce, or sweet & spicy ssamjang paste. The interior is unique and resembles an old-sweet Korean restaurant or Asian night market scene with the wooden ceilings, seats and booths. The staff were friendly throughout the night and the set-up came fast. Would definitely come again!

Yelp
Daldongnae Korean BBQ - Dundas is located above the ground floor and has extensive interior decorations giving off a feeling/experience of eating out at a night market/street. The price for what you get is amazing, you select the (minimum 2) protein and/or veggie selection while all the sides (corn cheese, egg, lettuce, soybean stew) + 5 other sides (kimchi seaweed, etc.) comes with the meal. They will keep refilling as long as you have protein left on the table. The grill is gas fired with a top the allows drippings to flow into the sections to cook other items. Our party of two selected one pork belly and one veggie plate and had 3 portions of the egg and corn and got some of the sides refilled once or twice. The grill is on the medium/smaller side and is lower heat so nothing got burned. Service was good based on how busy they were and the tables turned over quite frequently. There was a lot of tables and seating configurations, 2s and 4s were very common. Would come back again with a larger group and maybe try this out on the "patio" if that is available.

Yelp
I love this korean bbq chain. I went to omelette of these when I visited Montreal and now I get to go back when in Toronto! We made reservations and were seated right away. The place didn't have the individual enta over your grill but the smoke level was actually pretty low, considering. The meat was really good and all the banchan tasted great. We had plenty to eat! Bring all your favorite people, the more the merrier!
google avatar

Jennifer T.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our lunch here! For two people we ordered 2 servings of meat, rice, and a bottle of makgeolli. Was so stuffed at the end of the meal. This spot is easy to miss but inside it's quite spacious and would imagine it Leung a fun spot for a late night dinner. The sides really made the meal. The servers were attentive and generous with refilling our sides. I haven't tried other kbbq spots in Toronto so I can't compare them but I would be happy to eat here again.
google avatar

Nana T.

Yelp
Been here a few times pork belly is always the best for me Love their side dishes and service is funny here! With a set you get spicy tofu soup, corn cheese, kimchi, eggs on your platter. Soup is a bit too salty every time I come which is the only feedback I have! Onion side dish and dipping sauces are always so good with kbbq
google avatar

Esmond L.

Yelp
It has been a go to place for me and my coworkers. Amazing food, amazing drinks, amazing staff and friendly environment. Really feels like we've escaped from reality just for a little bit. All the cuts are pretty good but my favourite is the short rib for sure. Don't forget to have somek (soju and beer)!
google avatar

Eric H.

Yelp
This is just a good quality KBBQ restaurant. Nothing really stood out to me as spectacular, but nothing was bad either. They don't have thinly sliced brisket, but the short rib has good marbling and taste. The pork offering has good quality and taste.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here to meet up with friends around 10pm. We were greeted with panicked but apologetic staff because they had a crowd of people come all at once. We were seated shortly after and given the menus. We had to flag someone down each time we either wanted a top up on something or order anything. It wasn't too loud and you could hear yourself talk along with the music playing. Overall, had fun with friends! The only reason that it's losing a point is because the complimentary stew came near the end of our dinner instead of the beginning even though all the side dishes came at the beginning.
google avatar

Serena D.

Yelp
Delicious Korean Barbecue! Definitely recommend getting the Pork Belly (super juicy and tender). I would also recommend getting the corn cheese and egg because it really helps balance with the meat as it can get a bit heavy. The kimchi fried rice was also very delicious. I would give this restaurant 5 stars, but the some of the staff were a bit rude. We asked for more corn cheese (there are free refills) and the male worker cut us off and told another worker to get it for us (he sounded annoyed). Other than the service, the food was good and I would probably come back if I came back to Canada.

Angelo C.

Yelp
Great food, fun relaxed atmosphere. Nice friendly service. Would recommend for any casual situation or event. Also very reasonably priced for what you get.

Yelp
Food is 5/5 Service 4/5 Ambiance 5/5 Kimchi fried rice is s must. Add some cheeze! Lol
google avatar

Shuang W.

Yelp
I hated the bloor location but this location is much better. They don't have seating time limit and the people who work there r much more polite. However I think better training should be done since we were told we need to order one meat per person even tho the menu said "min 2 meat per table" The pork jowl and short rib is amazing, also corn and egg r refillable too! I love them. Will come back again
google avatar

Keith W.

Yelp
This location is very clean and houses a lot of space. The meat is high quality and the sides complement the dish. The service is okay, but could be better. As to the current napkin/water refill wait times, that could be improved which is why it's not a 5*.
google avatar

Lihan L.

Yelp
Food is excellent. Fantastic meat, flavorful soup. The service is weird tho. The waiter first led us to one of the tables next to the entrance. Then kinda force us to change to another table, which is just next to the washroom and kitchen. The place was full of loud conversation. If you enjoy the eavesdropping, definitely the place.
google avatar

Justin S.

Yelp
The staff was extremely accommodating! Food area was clean and we had enough space for my mother, wife, and 10 month old baby. The food was incredible as well! I am used to all you can eat KBBQ but eating A La Cart was transformative! Tender Beef, great Pork, and the Kim Chi was excellent! Definitely recommend!

Joey K.

Yelp
Best service out of all the Daldongnae I have been. Servers are so attentive we ask for banchan refills come up right away.

Utahll N.

Yelp
Servers were pretty rude and oblivious to basic serving etiquette. One piece of meat had fallen onto the ground from how our friend lifted it up and so we asked if we could get a new piece to eat. We asked pretty politely if we could get another replacement but his first question was if it was the servers fault. We said no so he just told us that they can't give us a new piece and just looked at us awkwardly for a few silent seconds before retreating away. Is one piece of meat to replace that much of an inconvenience? Is it that costly? It was just handled very oddly. Other servers also just bluntly interrupt conversation multiple times while clearing the table. They ask if they can take the plates, we say yes, we continue talking, they ask if we're done with the water, we say no, we continue talking, they ask if we're done with the large plate of pancake, we say yes. The food is just fine for kbbq. But for that kind of service and for it not to be all you can eat, is not worth it.
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
The food was great and our server was very friendly. We came in for lunch time so we didn't have to wait very long. Bathrooms were spotless. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Went here for lunch with two of colleagues, we got an order of pork belly, boneless short rib, and beef tenderloin to share. The meat was delicious and the meal came with a lot of unlimited free sides, we were all stuffed by the end of it. I highly recommend the boneless short rib and pork belly. For the sides, I really liked the garlic, kimchi, potato salad, and cucumber salad. The garlic gets better as you grill, the fat from the pork belly dripped into the section where the garlic was so by the end of it, the garlic was being cooked in pork fat, pretty delicious. The service was really good, everything came really fast and wait staff was attentive. Ambiance was really cute, reminds me of those asian snack bars. The price is decent as well, our total after tax and tips was about $34 per person. Definitely one of the top Korean bbq places in Toronto!
google avatar

Yelp
Late night go to. We arrived in Toronto at 11pm, got to our hotel, and was ready to eat but everything was closed with the exception of Daldongnae Korean BBQ, and what a surprise, this was delicious. Starting with the excellent customer service, who guided us through how to use the BBQ. We got the most popular BBQ, and the seasonings was on the side along with the sauce for the beef and pork belly, simply beautiful, and the Kimchi Fried Rice was special. The egg around the bbq plate and the corn, so good must try. This was an excellent experience.

David B.

Yelp
The food here is amazing! I would absolutely recommend the beefs and the wagyu if you are willing to go all out. The service is quite friendly with them always checking on you and making sure everything is up to date and answering any questions. The aesthetic was a very cozy spot with a kind of hard to find doorway leading into a big open space with a rustic and town like vibe.
google avatar

Michelle D.

Yelp
Was craving Korean BBQ so my friend and I came here to enjoy! This location is convenient, new, clean, and really spacious. The ambience was really nice. We shared the beef chuck steak and rib finger meat and it was a good portion. Given the unlimited refills of the side dishes, the price point was worth it. The side dishes included mashed potato, jelly, bean sprouts, pickled onion, pickled cucumber, kimchi, corn and cheese, egg, and a soft tofu soup. We also shared the kimchi pancake which was also very good and filling. The servers were pretty attentive and it was mostly easy to get their attention. Would totally return if I'm craving KBBQ.
google avatar

Eve L.

Yelp
The staff are really friendly and the food comes out quick. The restaurant is really cool and I feel like I stepped into another place. This is not my favourite K-BBQ spot but it's nice.

A J.

Yelp
The food and ambiance were great. We had imported beers, table bbq (port shoulder butt, pork skirt meat, beef tenderloin), and unlimited side dishes. The servers were friendly but only 4 for service as I had to call for servers attention to get refill, possibly due to busy night.
google avatar

J P.

Yelp
My family (3 ppl) visited on a Wednesday, around 10 pm. Finding parking was quite a hassle, but that applies to anywhere around the area. The location is pretty odd because it's next to a cannabis store and some kind of strip club. However, when you open the door, it leads you upstairs. So I guess you can call it a "hidden gem." After reaching the seating area, we were seated quickly. The workers were friendly and knowledgeable. The downside was that the majority of their meat wasn't marinated, only the pork skirt, beef finger, and beef hanging. We ordered the beef finger and hanging meat, with a side of vegetables. It also came with unlimited sides. The egg, corn cheese, and pickled cucumber are my favs. I'm not too sure if they had rice paper, but it wasn't served. I can say that it filled us up pretty well. I went out feeling I ate too much, so disclaimer: don't ever wear jeans when eating kbbq lmao. Overall, great experience!
google avatar

Kimberly H.

Yelp
This place is amazing. We had two kbbqs going for 5 people, with a soju cocktail pitcher and a round of makgeolli, and we had a fantastic time. We had the best seafood pajeon I've ever had, the seafood wasn't overcooked and rubbery, and the sides complete with cheesy corn really hit the spot.
google avatar

PJ F.

Yelp
The taste is so authentic I felt like I revisited Korea. And the sides dishes are so good! We'll be back for sure. Our order's ranking: 1. Side dishes (free flow) 2. Pork Belly 3. Beef Tenderloin 4. Hot noodle soup (entrée) 5. Nestea x2 in can 6. Beef Chuck Steak
google avatar

Joeann S.

Yelp
This is a relatively new location for this kbbq chain, super close to Yonge and Dundas and conveniently located around college station! I've been here twice now and both times the food and service have been great. All the meats are fresh with delicious sauces but the best part is definitely the unlimited sides and banchan! The cheesy corn is my favourite. The place was packed and lively, and the staff were diligent to check on us as well as refill water. I recommend coming with a few people to try different meats!
google avatar

Jin L.

Yelp
Service was awful ahaha she was like a mute no smile won't even come to our table after seating us. We had to go up to the register to order our food. A young and quite a very naive server who didn't seemed to care about her job apparently. I went up to her again to order rice hmmm although the meat was good quality, I would never recommend this place for anyone unless you don't mind continuing going up to her to order your food. I didn't care for the food and ambiance after her attitude.
google avatar

Sue J.

Yelp
As consistent as all the other DDN locations and the last time I went I thought the service was so excellent. We sat on the patio for the first time and it was a great vibe, and you don't end up smelling like bbq in the end. Really great concept and affordability- love the DDN business model. This location is fresh and new- I completely recommend.
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
Been here 2 times and have ordered the: - Thin Sliced Pork Belly ($18.99) - Beef Boneless Short Rib ($28.99) - Beef Short Plate ($21.99) - Assorted Mushroom ($6.99) - Seafood Pancake ($16.99) - Peach Makgulli ($22.99) You are also given many side dishes with refills. These include mashed pumpkin, soybean soup, beansprouts, jelly, cucumbers and seaweed. You are also given a dipping sauce with onions and there is also soybean paste/ sesame oil to dip your food in. The first time I went, service was not that great, but the second time I went, the service was excellent. So service probably depends on time of day / staffing. The beef short plate is the thin sliced beef - I would personally recommend getting the thicker slices of beef. The seafood pancake is also really great, and I'd actually recommend it even though the place is known for it's KBBQ meats. The interior is also pretty cozy and has nice decorations. Place can get a bit busy at times though, particularly during dinner time.

Elizabeth N.

Yelp
Amazing service every time! The food comes out fast and they're very attentive. The wait isn't long either.
google avatar

Lin L.

Yelp
Good food but quite busy and crowded. Go early or later. Wear clothes you don't care about because the smell of bbq stays for a long time.

Frank A.

Yelp
The food and the service was top notch. would definitely come back when in Toronto. I've had a lot of Korean BBQ and this one is up there on my list.
google avatar

Lauren D.

Yelp
So excited to see that Daldongnae is right up the road from me, a short walk from both Dundas and College Station. Upon arriving, you walk up the stairs and the atmosphere is lovely! We were greeted and seated immediately (less wait time than the Bloor St location) and our servers were lovely, prompt without hovering and answered our questions well. We got the pork skirt steak and the beef chuck steak. Both were great! Love the soybean spicy stew they serve and the variety of banchan. Ordered some grape soju as well to go with our meal. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Kris J.

Yelp
Service was a 2 and food a 3/4. Service - they never refilled water, asked if we wanted more food, or checked on us - really subpar service. Food - I liked the kimchi fried rice. But plain rice was super dry. Not exactly a good sign when a Korean restaurant can't get the rice right! Yikes. The beef was ok but would be better if it was marinated first. Overall, an average experience. Might give it a second chance. But def not the excellent reviews I see on google a other sites - no way.
google avatar

Andrew L.

Yelp
We reserved a table for 16, but they only gave us a table that sits a total of 12. One poor guy had to sit at the small table normally used to hold appetizer dishes (and they don't have foldable chairs). Lineup at the door was confusing for those with reservation. Meat was ok but the stove gave two of us a minor burn on our fingers because one bowl was scathing hot. It's on second floor and not wheelchair accessible.

Ray C.

Yelp
Nothing special I've been to better all you can eat Korean restaurant it was very expensive for what your getting we ordered a lot and still had to go get food lol
google avatar

Christina Y.

Yelp
Finally a kbbq in the heart of downtown! Daldongnae is so consistent with their quality of food and I'm glad there is a location close by. I was worried there would be a lot of ppl so to play it safe, we went there for 515pm and was able to get a table easily. The space is quite big but I can also see it filling up easy because of the location. Two meats and a pancake were more than enough for the two of us!

Cyn C.

Yelp
Food: great quality and very consistent as i come here often Ambience: surprisingly this location isnt as busy as the others which is a plus! Service: staff are fast and efficient

J M.

Yelp
Fantastic service, great price (compared to other KBBQ places), and some of the best food I've ever had.
