10/10 great customer service, good atmosphere , cleanliness and price. I forgot my waitress name but She was excellent and super nice, She normally don’t work weekends. I will be back.

I hadn't been here in YEARS just because I hadn't gone that direction. I had almost forgotten it was there until I was in the area with friends and someone suggested it. I was INSTANTLY reminded of just how fabulous the food was!! The service was super friendly and nice and offered great advice. Let me add... My Dad is a Banana Pudding snob... Because he was raised with women who made it incredibly well!!! He LOVED it!!! So... If you like AMAZING Banana Pudding, go get you some at Dale's!!!

I have been coming to Dales for many years and the service and staff are always excellent. The food is good home-made style and delicious. I recommend you come and give them a try.

Fast and Friendly service. I ordered the Catfish and my husband ordered the meatloaf. Lots of flavor and went well with our banana pudding dessert!

Went there last night after leaving a wake. My original meal was delicious. But I ordered a loaded baked potato with no chives to go, mentioned no chives more than once. When I got my order it was loaded with chives. I asked waitress could I get a refund or another one because I really can’t eat chives. She said the kitchen was closed, she didn’t hear me say no chives but she could take it to the back and hand pick the chives off. Now, I have a large potato that looks delicious but I can’t eat it because the chives (green onions) will make me sick.

I hadn’t been here since the renovation and I needed some comfort food. One of the special for Tuesday was beef tips over rice with 3 sides. Got cabbage, black eyed peas, fried okra with cornbread. Of course sweet tea. There is a reason people keep coming here. Everything was good. Peas almost burned my mouth bc they were so hot lol. Will continue to come here for lunch.

Greeted when we walked in and was seated very quickly. Server came and got drink orders quickly and made sure our cups stayed full. She was super nice and friendly. I had the meat loaf. It was super sweet. I was confused because I never had sweet meatloaf. Not a fan. Also had the catfish which was good. Macaroni wasn't horrible but not the best either. Didn't like the mash potatoes and gravy at all. This place stays busy so I'm sure they have good food. I may try here again...

We dined here years ago, and it was not a good experience. The new decore is great and the food is greatly improved. The fried chicken is very good, as is the meatloaf. The country fried steak is also good. The sides were spot on and we have returned several times now. Highly recommend Dale's! Although the service is good, a big shout out to Bella!

Dales now has breakfast! Dales has been on my list to try for a while, but when I go out to eat, southern comfort food just isn't in my top choices I want so we've always put it aside. Well this weekend we gave them a try for breakfast and so glad we did! We are now going to definitely go back for dinner sometime soon! We went on a Saturday morning and it wasn't too busy. I just love the Christmas town at the front entrance. I was in "awe." We were seated right away. Our waitress was very attentive and all the waitresses did coffee rotations so we were always good on drinks. The food... delicious! The fried potatoes were cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. That gravy was just like I make at home and perfect. The biscuits were nice and the monte crisco was the best we've had! Really, our only complaints are the rice grits, they just didn't go with the meal well, and that my omelette was supposed to have chorizo, but they did sausage instead. Not a huge deal because it was still good. Try their breakfast out! We'll be back for dinner.

Food was amazing.... Thick and moist chicken fried chicken, tasty black eyed peas. Fresh turnip greens, cloved pickled beets like granny made, the sweetest candied yams, and thick fried green maters.... All better than we expected after a full day at Graceland. Fabulous service from Jody.

Sometimes there's a wait but it's always worth it. Family oriented.Eating areas and restrooms are clean. Most of the time service is slow, depending on the waiter/ waitress.

I haven't been to Dales in a long time this was before they shut down because of the health department so now 2025 me my husband, baby and my mother-in-law decided to go so it's Sunday my mother-in-law got the chicken and dressing, the sweet potatoes and the cabbage and when I tell you it look like slot something you give to a hospice patient. Everything looked liquidy. I was so embarrassed that somebody that in the kitchen will actually put that on a plate and serve it so I had the potato they put so much cheese on the potato didn't even think to melt it and my husband got a fish plate now the fried fish was good no problem with that. I don't know what the baby got. The ambience was very crowded. I don't see why they crowded with food like that.

Stopped in for breakfast with friends, food was ok, not great, we had 3 in our party and they got all 3 orders wrong one way or the other, didn't want to wait to get it straightened out, was on a schedule. Server was really nice, don't know where mess up happened.

Food and Service was very disappointing for breakfast. Took over an hour and 15 minutes to finally get our food after ordering. Ordered eggs over easy and the whites weren't white. Not even cooked. They came out clear. Over medium eggs came out over done. Sent food back to finish cooking and our plates came back with less sausage than it had when first delivered. Took waitress 20 minutes just to take our drink order. The hostess is probably the worst I've ever seen. Tried to seat a party of 6 at a table for 4 and told the lady her kid could figure it out! Renovations look great but don't waste your time.

I've grown up eating at Dale's, so I wanted to check out their new breakfast menu. So far so good, I'll have to come back and try some of the other items.

We came in because we heard they were under new management! We came in before noon , placed our order and never got our food and had to get back to our job site. We were there for over 40 minutes. when we got there it wasn't busy , when we left the place was full and Everyone had their food but us. Bad service !! Very disappointed!

It appears nice because they remodeled, but I got the chicken tenders, and they were fine, which is why I'm giving it three stars. For the others, they didn't like the food and had to return it a few times, but the manager was excellent; he did everything he could to improve the situation and remove it from the bill.

I work at Dale's and I have to say that this is one of the best restaurants I've ever seen because all the employees are hard-working and the food is amazing and the managers are good and all the workers are friendly and Dallas is overall best restaurant I've ever been to

It wasn't as good as it used to be to be the food was kinda bland. I got the chicken and dressing and it didn't have hardly any chicken, I went on a Thursday to have turnip greens and they weren't ready yet. The creamed corn tasted like it came out of a can, but the boiled cabbage was good as well as the cornbread. I was disappointed. The service was good

Been going to Dales since 1993. Services and atmosphere are great. Home town favorite for sure. The chicken and dressing is out of this world........Rolls are amazing too! Can't beat this family style restaurant best home cooking in town!

The service was very good. The people are all nice and friendly. I ordered the 4 piece catfish and it was amazing. The Christmas decor was very nice and comforting. There was only one server but she was handling being under pressure very well from all the demands of the tables. They didn't have a large menu but the food was great for the price. I ordered the steak and cheese sandwich as well it was very meaty which was a plus.

Food is very good and they give good portions. The servers are very friendly. I love their candy yams and the rolls are very good.

First of all, this building is really well decorated and smells so clean and fresh. Everyone here is dressed professionally and incredibly polite. We brought two of our smallest children with us and our server was so patient. No problem finding a parking spot even though they were busy. The low down on the food: first off the fruit salad, simple and fresh. This isn't some vat of gunk that sits in the back for a week before you see it. Simple and delicious and it wasn't even my side. I got the catfish. Fresh, light, salty (but not too much), crunchy, huge portions! The black eyed peas are the absolute best I've ever had (please don't tell my grandma I said that). Staff was quick and refilled and cleared off empty plates, even with a busy section. You can't miss this building it's pink! Stop by and of course try anything you like but we highly recommend the catfish and I'm certain this is a staple on our restaurant list forever. Very impressed with every single thing.

I and seven family members had lunch yesterday at Dale's. My wife and I had eaten there many years ago--on a Mother's Day, no less--before and recommended it to the family as a great southern, home-cooked-style restaurant. Our decision was somewhat hesitant though after reading some reviews on this site but we went anyway. We arrived before the lunch crowd with only another eight person group was ahead. The rest of the restaurant was empty. We then thought maybe locales don't eat here anymore; boy were we wrong. When we left the restaurant, it was nearly full! Two critiques I have, not complaints, were the menu was not as expansive as the one we had fifteen years ago. However, there was more than enough variety to suit everyone in our group. The second critique was the lengthy wait it took to get served. But one has to remember this is a restaurant, not a fast food establishment. Good food is worth the wait! And the food is GREAT. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. This is a must-place to eat if you find yourself within thirty miles of Southaven.

I love this place! I am a regular costumer and they are pretty consistent with their service! They are very kind and attentive especially my server!! Ask for Crystal! The food has bigger proportions for their prices compared to similar restaurants in the area. I usually get their salad, my fiancé the grilled chicken baked potato. Sometimes the butter isn't melted all the way and the potato isn't cooked thoroughly. If you send it back they always have it right the second time! The atmosphere of the restaurant wasn't fast paced, although it wasn't slow. The kitchen gets backed up sometimes and the bathrooms stay dirty. If you don't mind these minor inconveniences I would recommend giving this place a visit!

Love Dale's. One of the best places to eat. Meat and three vegetables is really getting hard to find. Will miss Dale's if they ever close or sale it.

covid is over , saturday closing at 5..for real. if you want more customers you need to be open morethan 2 and half days a week used to pople would drive all over to eat here and will again but 11 to at least 8 would be cool, used to we could watch the xmas parade here lets wake this place up elvis even ate here on the way to circle g

Walking in, there was no one to greet me. Which is fine because of the time of day. It's 3:50pm, between lunch and dinner, odd time to eat, so the place is bare. However, when the hostess came around the corner, there wasn't a "oh deer, I'm sorry for the wait....". It was, barely eye contact, and a "hi... just one?", grabbed a menu and walked off.... ok... do I follow you? What about the "alrighty, follow me." Nope. Didn't get that. At least she turned around and asked if I wanted a booth or a table, I told her a booth, and then put that menu down and walked off. I even watched her bring in an elderly couple, they were holding their own menus and she pointed at a table, and walked off. Didn't even escort them to the table. By the looks of it, she's not a waitress, she's only a hostess. She's horrible at it and shouldn't be working here. My waitress was Bonita, she was sweet. She didn't check on me as often as I would have liked and never asked if I wanted a refill, but she was good otherwise. Roll: Heavy, thick and good. Add some butter on there and it's even more delicious. Cornbread: Heavy, and sorta dry. Not as moist and soft as I would prefer. Mac & cheese: Good but slightly bland. The cheese flavor is faint, but still good. I added some pepper to help out. Northern Beans: Very good. Looks super plain and bland, but hidden amazing smoky flavor. YUM! Squash casserole: YUM! Homemade deliciousness. Chunks of squash, just yum. Chicken Monterey (today's special): Moisten and tender, no where near enough mushrooms. Literally about 4 tiny tiny slices, and it was over seasoned, so too salty. I'm here on business. So I might return next time I'm in time, but doubtful. I'm going to rate this place a 4, because Bonita was nice and the food was 90% good.

What a hidden gem. We were traveling through and wanted a home style meal. Dale's fit the bill. The food was outstanding, especially the Chicken and dressing. Yum! There is a huge choice of sides and the hot rolls and cornbread are worth the drive! The service was outstanding!! Bethany was our server and was exceptional. Our drinks never got below half full. She brought extras of everything. Then of course we had to have dessert. The Lemon pie was the best I have ever had! The chocolate pie was wonderful too!! Please consider this when in Memphis. It is really near Graceland too so perfect for the Elvis fans!

Food is good. Service stinks. I have been a customer for over 30 years until 2022. The owner told me they no longer give rolls in their to go orders unless you pay for them. When I said to her that was not acceptable because you already made the sides and meats smaller, she said she buys the best quality fish and rolls are not included. The owner was rude and dismissive. I have not been back for over a year due to her attitude.

I visited on a Sunday evening with family. The dining area was comfortably full, with just a spot or two available for incoming parties like mine. Service was brisk. My food: *Beef tips over rice *Fried Okra *Mac & Cheese *Carrot Salad! Yes, I really the liked the carrot salad. The building feels a little dated and worn, but the value is excellent: good food, reasonable pricing.

We eat here a lot for work when we want some good home cooking. Our orders have been messed up before as they get really busy but double check and let them know if anything is wrong! We got free dessert one time as it took a while for one order to be fixed.

It is a tragedy how far the place has fallen in regards to food quality and staff. It was a landmark but I cant imagine them being open much longer if this continues.

Not what I expected from a restaurant. It was more like fast food. I had the fried catfish and fried green tomatoes. I was driving from Los Angeles on my way to North Carolina and I didnt want fast food, but to try some authentic Memphis cooking. I was very disappointed with my meal. Service was mediocre as well.

Dales was recommended to me by a co-worker. Walked in today for a carry out order, country fried steak 3vegis cornbread and a piece of fillet fish on the side. I got back to the work place and discovered that the fish was not inside the bag, ( I guess it dropped out on my back to work )long story short I called manager to let them Know of the situation. Bottom line I was told no refunds and to check my bag before I leave the next time but , there will not be a next time

Good food, not great. Warm, not hot. Full parking lot every day. All in all, pretty good lunch spot. So I've been driving by this place for years and I thought I remembered eating here, but when I walked in, I realized I hadn't. This is a fairly big place, and there are several dining rooms. This is good for 3 reasons that I can think of. 1. Not as noisy. 2. Doesn't feel like a big crowded place. Think of it as several small restaurants in one building. 3. I would think it would help the servers organize more efficiently by working their own dining rooms. It's old and dated, but very comfortable and serves its purpose. The menu was a bit tattered, but still performed its duty. It claimed that vegetables are never frozen or canned. I found no reason to doubt this. Mashed potatoes didn't have skin in them, but they definitely were not boxed potatoes. They had the yummy mushy bites mixed in. The pinto beans were hard to tell from a can. There was pork mixed in, and they were great, so they could be dry beans. I'm sure the boiled cabbage was fresh, because why wouldn't it be? The Mac and Cheese wasn't the best in the world, but it was among the top 10% in the city. The bread muffins were heavy, but excellent and cooked perfectly in house. So far, I'm at 5 stars. Well, the meatloaf was just kind of so, so. I know meatloaf is a tricky thing to order, because they are never alike. It was good, but just somehow not great. Also, the portion of meatloaf was small compared to the vegetables. We had plenty to eat overall, but somehow the main attraction just wasn't the star of the show. This and temperature is the reason for my 80% rating. All of our food was warm, but nothing was hot. I should have to blow on my food when it comes to my table, but this stuff was safe to shovel in. This is my main complaint. There was this weird hole in the ceiling just above our table with insulation falling out of it. Actually it looked more like it was stuffed with toy animal stuffing. The parking lot and building were full. Service was quick. The marine mom waitress was great. My co-worker who was with me is a marine. We had a good time. I suppose I'll come back, just not that excited about it.

BEST MAC AND CHEESE! I haven't been here personally but they catered a wedding I went to and I cannot resist reviewing if only to say their macaroni and cheese is the most amazing I've ever had! It's cheesy but not runny, flavorful but not overpowering. I love it so much and the next time my bestie is in town I want to bring her here just to try it. I'm sad and disappointed at what this restaurant has become since the passing of Mr. Dale. My family and I have been going to this restaurant since I was a very young child and have never had any complaints until today. My Father and Husband both ordered the three piece white chicken dinner and complained of how dry the chicken was, my Mother ordered the Chicken and Dumplings dinner and complained of all the bones and barely any chicken and I ordered the catfish dinner that had good flavor, but I've definitely had better. Our waitress was sweet as she could be and immediately brought out rolls and kept our drinks filled, but our food took over an hour which obviously was not her fault. My Mother also advised upon using their bathroom the bottom of her pants legs got all wet from the floor. The manager, I'm assuming, made way to our table asking how everything was where I politely advised my family's concerns, but she acted as if she really didn't care what I had to say. While leaving the establishment I observed the hostess sitting down behind the podium playing on her phone without any acknowledgement whatsoever of our exit. I hope Dale's Restaurant gets back on their game because tonight was not promising.

Down home, fresh, southern cooked food. I've always found the servers to be great and the food delicious. Their cornbread muffins (served before the meal) are great. On my most recent visit I had the the 4 Star (4 cheeses) chargrilled burger which was lip smacking delectable. Love the yesterworld decor. Currently they have a Christmas Village Display in a huge opening near the front door along with a gargantuan Christmas tree.

This place has great down-home Southern cooking! We love their meat and veggie specials, candied yams, fried cabbage, purple hull peas, greens, corn nuggets, and fried green tomatoes. The open faced pot roast sandwich, pork chops, country fried steak, and catfish are all fantastic! The turkey and dressing is the Sunday and Thursday special and it's right up there with my Mamaw's! Really, I've never had anything here that wasn't good. My sons love their burgers. The homemade pies will make you want to slap your mamma. That could be why my mamma never eats there with me. It's all very reasonably priced. The service can be slow about 1 of out of 15 visits, but it's always friendly and reasonably priced. I've been eating there for years and they keep me coming back for more! They've been updating the decor and, as crazy as this sounds, check out the gorgeous bathroom! It's even prettier that the newly decorated waiting area.

My husband and I split the two 10 oz sirloin steaks for $25 when my dad came to visit and he got the beef tips. It was pretty delicious and a great place for southern comfort food. The Grecian bread was delicious as well as their homemade rolls and corn bread. Very family friendly.

I've gone to Dale's since the 1970's and have seen many changes both good and bad. But, the good far outweighs the bad. Their food is what you'd consider home cooking, comfort food. We as a family continue to eat here still today. Try it you'll love it to , my favorite is the chicken and dressing and vegetables that remind you of field grown.

I'd heard about this place, and decided to try it for lunch. Their daily lunch special was $8, which included a meat and 3 vegetables. I chose the fried chicken, which was very good, as were the sides of okra, slaw, and beans. Service was good, and friendly. The atmosphere was down home and country, and the fellow customers a trove of history. For example, I learned that Dale's first opened as a drive-thru hamburger joint, and burgers were 10 for $1! I'd defintely eat here again.

Enjoyed my southern cooking here. Only been once, but it hit the spot. The lunch chicken and dressing was served with chicken gravy and cranberry sauce, and I had blackeyed peas, turnip greens, and candied yams. I inhaled everything except the yams - they were candied to the point of tasting like cobbler! A bit much. The cornbread and rolls were good, not great, but the dressing was awesome. I left a stuffed southern gal! I'll go back next time I'm near.

After traveling from Baltimore MD my brother took me to Dale's. He instructed me to try the Chicken & Dressing. It comes with 3 vegetables and I was so excited. So I had cream corn, Lima Beans and Yams. The sweet tea was also delicious. Dale's food was so delicious! In fact, I moved to Illinois and returned several weeks later and tried the same dish and hasn't changed. Great family environment and would recommend this establishment!

Fantastic Food - Delicious Dishes Dale's has been serving great, home-cooking food for many, many years. My most recent visit had been a number of years ago, until my wife and I went recently. Good news - the food is still great. We were greeted by friendly staff when we came in. I had read some the reviews on Yelp and seen the Fried Chicken and the biscuits were "highly recommended". Well I am here to tell you - they both ARE delicious and indeed are "highly recommended" by me as well. First, my drumstick was so big, I thought it was a small Turkey leg. Oh my, it was so moist, tender and delicious that I was glad that I ordered it. And it was hot, not like it had been sitting in the kitchen waiting to be served. Oh, and the biscuits WERE as delicious as the review said. Nice hot bread with butter melting all over it. Mmmm. Did I forget the veggies? How could I? The squash casserole was nice and hot (all the food was served hot-some places it's not) and exploded with deliciousness from the first bite. I could go on about my yams, my wife's Grilled Chicken breast and purple hull peas, but I think you get the idea. You gotta go and experience this place for yourself. I know you'll be glad you did - and, like us, you will be planning your next visit. Oh, my wife had wanted to try the Coconut Cream pie, but we were both too full for dessert - guess, we will have to go back. Darn!

Years ago Dale's was the place we ate whenever passing through Southaven, but post-Covid it's been horrible. Service was terrible and the food was not fresh but straight out of a can with no seasoning. This makes a me sad because we have given them business for 30 years.

Needs a good cleaning, painting and remodeling. Food was GOOD but I thought about how clean the food was going to be. Dark and dungeon atmosphere. Needs to be brightened up somewhat with fresh paint. Anywhere I go and the salt and pepper shakers feel like has layers of grime on them, I'm not in a hurry to go back. The food was good. It isn't the taste of the food, it is the other I mentioned that keeps me from returning. Lots of people love to eat there. You'll just have to judge for yourself. The salt and pepper shakers really did it for me, I guess. Everyone has an opinion and I'm just one. They do bring in a lot of customers and the food is tasty, if that is a deciding factor for you.

My husband and I came in for lunch just before noon. We were seated immediately upon our arrival by a pleasant hostess. I got the chicken and dumpling special with Lima beans, mashed potatoes and pinto beans. The veggies were all good- warm and fresh but the chicken and dumplings were a huge disappointment. It was a very small portion with very little dumplings in there. I'm a true country girl and crumbled the cornbread muffin in with my pinto beans. The basket of fresh rolls and cornbread were both really good. My husband got the half club sandwich and salad. The salad wasn't much to brag on- it here wasn't much "stuff" on it. The club sandwich was pretty typical of what you'd expect. It was OK, not great but not bad either. The service was pretty good. A refill on our water glasses would have been nice. Staff was friendly and attentive. The food came out less than 10 minutes after we ordered it. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. Ample parking.

Our server, Kelley was very attentive and great! We always start with fried mushrooms, as they are prepared and battered using fresh mushrooms, and they offer creamy horseradish, unlike many places. Our meals were very tasty, except my okra had not been freshly prepared. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

We were extremely disappointed in our visit to Dale's. The menu was different from most places, so we expected something unique. The prices varied a lot in that the "traditional " breakfast was the most expensive. But I wish we had ordered that anyway. We ordered a scrambler with sausage, onions, green pepper, potatoes and cheese The presentation was ok as it was scrambled everything. But the sausage was like a hot dog and the scrambler was overwhelmingly potatoes! It came with a squirted stream of what I thought was cheez whiz until I was told it was aioli. Not a good choice on the scrambler as it added a sour taste. I dug through mine to get to the eggs, and hubby left half of his. The coffee was warm, not hot. But. The server was attentive and kept adding hot coffee to our cups. But when it starts out warm, it is hard to make it hot enough. For a one day a week breakfast offering, we expected more. We were told we could make up our own combinations with the dudes, but that would get kinda pricey too! We probably won't go back. If you choose to do so, ask questions first. The traditional eggs, meat and toast order should be safe, but when the high price was explained, it is a lot of food. It could probably be shared.

We was in Memphis to take our daughter to the airport, and traveled on to the Outlet Stores in Southhaven, MS, after shopping, we started looking for Restaurants and found this one! Pretty neat Pink building, we didn't have to wait for a table. The hostess was nice and talkative.. there was a wait on the food, but that was ok, they were busy with the after church crowd. Food was good and would like to go back to Dale's next time in Southhaven's.

The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because the food wasn't very good. I ordered a ribyee steak, loaded baked potato, and a salad. The quality of meat just wasn't good and the salad was terrible. I took one bite and couldn't have another. It could have been a mixture of old dressing and wilting lettuce. The servers were great! Friendly and fast! I had to cut my steak with a regular knife but other than that I dont have anything poorly of the servers. This isn't somewhere I would go back to unfortunately.
