Dallas Hot Weiners is the absolute BEST! Highly recommend the hot dogs “all the way” (onions, sauce and mustard) and the vanilla milkshake. We eat here every time we visit upstate NY!

Dallas Hot Wieners is a nice find on my way to New York City. I randomly found it on Google Maps and I'm so happy to have dropped by. I really liked the old diner vibe. The service was very friendly and the prices are very affordable. The Dallas Hot Wieners secret sauce is so good and can go with anything. It's a little bit spicy, but you get used to it. Take note that they are cash only.

When we go back to our old stomping ground, we go to this location for the best Michigan style hotdogs around. We have been coming here for a long time, always good every time. Every thing is really good. Breakfast served all day. Cash only, ATM on premises.

A nice burger and hot dog joint. Looked inviting. It was clean with ample windows and seating at the counter and booths. Ordered the chili dog. The wiener was boiled and chili topping made it uneventful. Service was great. I was hoping for so much more but, it was just okay.

Most perfect BLT I've ever had!! No one ever listens to the specifics I ask for and they got it exactly!! I know the hot dogs are the best in the area also!

This is my 3rd visit to a Dallas Hot Weiners. First was solo as I happened to pass location in Saugerties NY. As a self-proclaimed "Foodie", once I saw the steam table IN THE FRONT WINDOW with ONLY the weiner accoutrements, it was a clearly a sign that I needed to try this place! I ordered 2 of the Dallas Hot Weiners. I think $2.95 each? Love the price point! The server behind the old skool diner counter suggested that the meat sauce was the key and that I should try the shoestring fries with cheese and this sauce. I did and all of what I ate that day was EXCELLENT! The signature meat sauce (not a chili really) was thin but held together the finely ground beef that was suspended in the sauce. It all flowed over the DELICIOUS low-temp-seeped "Dirty Water Dog" which are unique because much like the traditional NYC version, the weiners sit in just-under-boiling water all day, not grilled/caramelized on a foil lined flattop! This traditional NYC method of heating evenly and thoroughly throughout the dog, is slowly disappearing (I understand this is a preferred method in OHIO though, but this is in NY). Unlike NYC these dogs are NOT super salty and are about 175% thicker and slightly shorter than the NYC counterpart. The dogs does not poke out of the bun :( The flavor of the weiner is perfect for my palate. Great mild garlic undertone, enough onion powder and much much lower on the salt. No black pepper or overly sharp seasoning in the recipe? It was more reminiscent of my favorite Germán style veal white sausage. REALLY GREAT! Now add that runny, Cincinnati/Greek style meat sauce (aka "Chili?") with its hints of cinnamon and nutmeg? Some finely minced white onion and muddy brown mustard...GREAT dog bite ever and completely unique to the UPSTATE community. This experience felt like this tradition street-food was somehow HOME-COOKED, but still a treat to experience out-of-my-home. If that makes any sense. No need to chase my NY Dog with Papaya to "Aid in Digestion" that is a requirement at my now 2nd favorite Gray's Papaya in the City because this version is OH SO gentle to my stomach and in fact made it feel SO VERY HAPPY! My 3 visits (solo, brought friends to grab & run, solo again this time) were great with my friends saying it was the best dog they have had in a while (3 people all said same and they are foodies too!). Def. try this place please! *NOTES: staff treated us like valued customers and as I expected is delightfully Family-owned...It shows! This has no association with DALLAS TX. and there are (3) locations in MID-STATE NYC. I tried the burger which was made using DINER-STYLE using a pre-formed patty as was the beef Gyro/Pita. BUT much like the GREEK-OWNED Diners of the region, prepared to perfection by the Greek cooks. I felt that these options maybe distracting from the star and maybe need not be on the menu. Feeling that the DALLAS HOT WEINER has the potential to be 3 item menu rarity, Dog their way, Chili-Cheese Fries + maybe a signature drink...I digress. LOVE IT!

My imagination is in tears & I'm trying to calm or soothe her. You look like you can do with a kindness. I'm trying here. Thank you so much for being there, serving all of us up here some good lunch y'all at Dallas! A hot dog may seem sooo small, but it's the start of coming back to equilibrium. I'm trying here too. Don't know where they get their hot dogs, but they're pretty good. They're boiled or steamed, not grilled. Nondescript, untoasted buns. It's the chili sauce that puts it over the top! It's kinda thin, but the seasoning is what makes it interesting. A hint of anise? A shot of ouzo in the recipe, perhaps? Kidding, but, maybe? It's hot dogs, okay? But they're really good. I don't know anything about the rest of the menu. If you're near or passing through Kingston, give Dallas Hot Weiners a try, and let us know about the burgers and souvlaki and such. I'm in it for the dogs.

This is a place to come to for chili dogs & memories. I have come hundreds of miles to a place I have revered for over 60 years. Go to any of its 3 or 4 stores in the area and you wont be dissapointed.

Dallas is a go-to spot for All-American cuisine, and a dreamland for picky eaters like myself. The staff are always very friendly, and the service is always extremely fast. Some of the locations are fairly small, but can still fit many people. I enjoy their chicken tenders as a comfort meal. Since moving to New Paltz, I do not go here as often, but stop by every time I am in town. I wish they would open a New Paltz location, and I would be there all the time like I used to be!

This is a pretty good food joint if you want good food quickly. The workers and chefs are very friendly. It is a tad bit loud inside, but it is kept very clean. My Grandparents Pomeranian also likes to nibble on the hotdogs here.

Delicious! Everything you want in a hot wiener and more. The secret sauce is incredible. A nice quaint diner atmosphere. The staff seemed to be in great spirits and were extremely friendly. 10/10

I've been going to Dallas weiners for years now. In kingston on front st and lake katrine, and in Saugerties. Now the hot dog is nothing special. It's all about the chili sauce. It would be nice to get a natural casing Sabrett hot dog even if they charged more. I grew up eating Sabrett and House of Weiner franks from those push carts to New York City. They can't be beat but they must be the natural casing ones. The skinless just don't taste the same.

This is the Dog that made Kingston Famous. The Best. Cleanest best customer Service at all locations. Wish I had one right now. Keep up the Great Work

I am not a lover of Hot dogs and not sure why people love these. Perhaps I am a NYC dirty water dog person for life? But despite my confusion on the love for the hot dogs I do recommend this place. Especially for kids. No kids menu but none is needed because prices are all fair with nice sized portions. Other then the hotdogs the menu is similar to a diner with the usual finger foods, hamburgers and a few salads. Also like a diner breakfast is served all day and a soup of the day is offered. I am not a fan of their hamburger either but shockingly the Greek specials (gyro, chicken souvlaki and a few others) are delicious. -another diner comparison. Also like a diner. There is a long counter with swivel stools or you sit at a tables with servers. But then you pay at the counter just like a classic diner. So basically this place is a diner that sells Hot Dogs that locals love. For me I love this place because it's a few dollars cheaper then the diners in the area and just as good if not better. There's 4 locations now and they are all pretty much the same.

Not so hot. But I guess if they called themselves "Bland Boiled Hotdogs" it wouldn't be so catchy of a name. Seriously this place has at least 3 restaurants in the area and I don't know what the appeal is. Unless the burgers are great? The boiled hotdogs are push cart comparable fare. You would think that hot weiners would be hot and grilled. And the dogs were lukewarm at best. A disappointment for sure

My favorite place to go every time I visit Kingston. Grew up with Dallas Hot Weiners. Wonderful family owned restaurant. It was always my first stop when I returned from college and visiting family. The taste is delicious and the quality is consistent. I wish I could jar the sauce. Highly recommend if you are a hot dog lover.

I just found out recently they deliver so we order there a lot. Their chicken orzo soup and chicken souvlaki might be the best in town.

Great place to stop if you need a quick bite to hold you over for a light lunch or holding out for a big dinner! I tried the Slaw dog, 1/4 pound burger and fries, the hot dog and burger were ok, would have been better if buns were toasted. The fries were way to salty. Might go back if I'm really hungry and can afford to pay a ton of quarters in the parking meters out front!

Always delicious especially on National Hotdog Day! We love these guys! Thank you for keeping it consistently good, great customer service and I literally can't drive by without stopping in!

My friend took my husband and me to this restaurant when we visited her. She said it's been open for years and she remembers eating here from her party days. It's a small old school looking diner with the bench seating tables, round stools at the counter, family run. My husband ordered a hot dog with sauce, a burger with sauce and fries. I had chicken tenders and cheese fries. My husband thought the food was decent. He really liked their secret sauce which is like a chili but lighter. It's spicy and has some ingredients that are hard to decipher. I thought I tasted clove, I didn't care for it myself. My tenders were overly fried so they were kind of dry. The loaded fries were just fries with cheese sauce. They weren't salted and the sauce was bland. Tasted like it came from a can. The waitress was very nice and attentive. All in all, I probably won't go back because I didn't enjoy the quality of the food. But locals say it's worth the visit. You be the judge!

So I've written about hot dog places before, because I believe the holy Grail of hot dogs HAS to be somewhere in the NJ/NY area. I've found some great spots that I need to re-try so I can Yelp them-and I've found a few places that I DEFINITELY don't need to taste again. I was really surprised by Dallas Hot Weiners, but I'll add it as a great addition to my list of 'Go-To' hot dog joints. Though I generally don't like dirty water dogs, this joint served great dogs. When we arrived, the line was out the door...and there were three important reasons-first, the place is tiny and second, the dogs are well worth the wait and third, the prices will amaze you. Now my wife used to go to this place as a kid so I got the inside scoop on what to order...KISS. Keep It Simple, Stupid! I got a dog with kraut and spicy mustard, a chili dog, fries and a coke. Apparently people have spent years trying to figure out the owners' chili recipe...and I know why-best homemade hot dog chili I've ever tasted (truth be told I love Hormel chili on my dogs, but this was outstanding). They also have an awesome sauce I had on the fries...no idea what it was, but I wanted a bucket of it to take home. So Joey Chestnut and Kobayashi be damned-Dallas Hot Weiners beats a pile of Nathan's dogs any day of the week!

I stopped here with the family today (December 21, 2010) for dinner; we got some texas hot weiners and cheese dogs. Also got the fries. I figured we'd try a little of everything and also got ice cream, a shake and baklava. I like the fries here; plain shoestring style, not the cruddy 'seasoned' fries that most places are serving these days. I like the dogs too; they are not over the top. The sauce is good but not overpowering. The dogs are boiled and probably about the size of an average dog you'd get at home. The onions are mild, which I like. I think I'll try all three of these restaurants in the area just to compare them. I think this is the original place that has been around for 75 years or so. They have some tables and an olde-tyme counter. Not a lot of places have counters like this any more. The establishment looked a lot cleaner than I would have expected for a 75 year old hole-in-the-wall. The grill is right behind the counter and they make the hot dogs over by the window, so you can see everything. Notes; -They are CASH ONLY, which is important to know if you're like me and tend to charge everything on a credit card. -The menu is fairly limited; they really only do hot dogs, burgers, fries and a few related items. -Their ice cream selections were vanilla or chocolate, with no toppings. (But we didn't go there for ice cream!) PS: I don't understand the reviewer who claims that they 'overcharge for it'. Today, the Dallas Hot Weiner was $1.65 and a cheese dog was $2.10. That's not a lot. We got three dogs, fries, ice cream, apple juice, milkshake, and baklava... fed three people, and the bill was only $16 and change before tip. Went out my way here for a boiled hotdog? The hotdog was so wet, it became a challenge to clench the bread together to keep it from falling out. The sauce is a glorified version of sabrett NY onions, except there was never anything wrong with that recipe anyway. the best thing here? the FRIES. everything else looked like elementary school lunch.

I grew up in New Jersey and ate at places like Goffle Grill and Johnny & Hanges. This is old school fast food before it all became institutionalized and corporate like MacDonalds and Burger King. They each had their own take on chili dogs and burgers, cheese fries and chili fries and that oh so great special sauce. Dallas Hot Weiners took me home to my childhood and I never had to look back because here it is in my own back yard. This place ROCKS. And they have excellent grilled cheese for vegetarians that are so inclined or (like my family) dragged there on occasion. :) The old school milk shakes are pretty great too.

The hot dogs here seem to be basically larger versions of the mini wieners found in the Capitol region to the north, @ places like Famous Lunch in Troy, Hot Dog Charlie's in Cohoes, & Gus's Hot Dogs in Watervillet. These dogs are at least twice the size of those specimens but are dressed very similarly in a oniony meat sauce. Unlike some of those spots these are not grilled but steamed. I know many people feel otherwise, but I far prefer a grilled dog to a steamed one. Regardless, the dog here was pretty good but all things being equal I would hold out a little bit until I made my way more north and get the smaller dogs up in those parts. This advice obviously pertains most to travelers, if you are a local you will most likely be eating a lot of these hot dogs no matter what. Its important to note that I didn't try anything here besides the dog so take this review for what it is.

Atmosphere is great with counter and simple decor. Service is friendly and attentive. Now the dogs: the classic Dallas hot with works didn't blow me away. Sauce was too mild and the dogs didn't crunch like a good weiner should. Overall: if you are on front street and need a snack, hit it

Dallas is the wildest Wieners on the East Coast. I graduated Kingston 02 so I'm informed more than u. It's always my first stop when I'm back in town. I remember high school lunches and how we got down. That was Broadway this is Uptown so I guess that's 10 STARS. Anyone who says less can get stretched and I used to drive far. Upstate spots and RI and MA got nothin on Dallas and that ain't biased. You want a good lunch. This is the place to munch. Yea I know the other locations but I moved to Kingston in 85 son. I was out in 02 but always down for home food. Dallas Hot Wieners and Cheese Fries. Dallas Cheeseburger Special. Bowl of Pickles is a must. I've been a lifetime cust. I'll even rock my Dallas Polo when I'm outta shirts for work. Whatsup.

Best hot dogs in Kingston. Only wish they didn't only take cash. There were no tables when we arrived so we sat at the counter. It turned out to be fun. Great service, we were served our food quickly after we ordered it. Delicious flavor. You can get these type of hot dogs in many places but there is something so deliciously special about Dallas Hot Weiners, I always have to get my fix while I'm in the area.

Saw the reviews on yelp and was interested in trying it out. Went there with my father when we were up in Kingston and overall were disappointed. Service: We sat at the counter and the service was fine. Ambiance: Had an old school diner vibe even though it was in a storefront. Food: Unfortunately with a place called Dallas Hot Weiners we decided to get some dogs, and they were pretty sub par. Firstly they were boiled, but not the same level of quality they you would expect from a traditional "dirty water dog." The hotdogs had no flavor, had a strange texture, and were an odd shade of pink. Toppings were fine, but couldn't cover up for a bad dog.

I have not eaten a hot dog in almost 20 years, but if I were to do so, this is where I'd go. Hot dogs are scary. But a hot weiner is hard to come by.

It's tempting to give Dallas Hot Weiners a five star rating, but I'm loyal to my hometown hotdogs. Ritzy Lunch in Clarksburg, WV is still the best. While driving back from Woodstock, we stopped in Kingston for a bite. I have to brag about how good our lunch was. These are some of the best hotdogs you'll ever have. The secret sauce reminds me a bit of Swiss Chalet sauce. It's savory with a flavor of poultry seasoning and other herbs rather than chili. But as I said, it's a secret. But it is close to what I'm used to in that they don't favor ketchup in the diner. It's a saucy chili poured over very tiny chopped onion and a ribbon of mustard. Sauerkraut and relish are also options. You can also top your dog with cheese, but I like pouring it on french fries instead. Their fries at Dallas Hot Weiners are very good. The hospitality is the real selling point. It's so nice to sit down at a counter and meet friendly people. Lunch for two was $11. We had two hotdogs each, shared a plate of disco fries and washed it down with fountain seltzer.

OK...let me tell you about Dallas Hot Weiners....there isn't another place in the world that can get me to eat three hot dos in one sitting but these amazing creations are unlike anything you have every tasted. All rationale and calorie consciousness goes out the window when you walk in the front door of this tiny, efficient restaurant. We do not live in Kingston - we're from DC so when we make a trip to Kingston - everybody knows our first stop is Dallas Hot Weiners. One time we ate three meals there over the course of the weekend because we knew we wouldn't get them for a while!!! The word "AWESOME" does not do justice to these heavenly creations. I cant really explain what makes it soooooooo good but I can tell you that I am hard pressed to even eat one hot dog any other time in my life but these hot weiners....man! I am telling you! I would eat four or five at a time if my stomach had the room! Things to look out for: There are not many places to sit so you might have to get them to go but dont worry about it - IT'S WORTH IT, place is always packed and bring CASH! Enjoy!!!! :)

Great service, great sauce, but as a hot dog snob I've got to go two thumbs down on the actual dogs. If they invested in some better dogs I'd live for a place like this. As it is I rarely visit. When I do I generally get something other then a hot dog. I enjoy the burgers and fries with sauce.... I just don't understand a place with weiners in the name not doing a better job with the main product. As I mentioned in the opening, really nice people own and run the place....easily 5 stars with better dogs.

Had to clean off the table myself... after they did. "Special sauce" is a spicy brown gravy. Nothing spectacular. Hot dog is just plain boiled dog. Bland. Fries are good; McDonald's style. All other food is cafeteria quality. Atmosphere is sterile and boring. I hate it here. Waste of a lunch experience.

I have been going here for a long time with my family. This is a great place to eat if you are in a hurry, or if you want a nice hot dog or burger! The staff are very nice and friendly. I highly suggest this restaurant!

There is nothing fancy about this place but they do serve a very good hot dog with their Dallas hot sauce and the price is right. I've never waited long to get my food either. I've also ordered the hamburger with the Dallas hot sauce and it is good. I tend to like a burger that is big n' juicy which these are not. It would be sooooo much better if they served them like this : ) The fries and onion rings are good, not great. I say this because with the selection of places that serve fries and onion rings, I would go elsewhere. The staff is always very friendly and while the decor is nothing special, the place always seems very clean. So when the craving for a hot dog with Dallas hot sauce hits ya', this is the place to go!

First of all, you go to Dallas Hot Weiners for hot weiners. Ignore all other proteins on the menu. These are hands down the best hot dogs you're going to eat between Albany and Yonkers. Now I know some people swear by the cheese dog but I'm a fan of the classic everything (Dog, Steamed Bun, Mustard, Minced Onion and Sauce. The cheese dog is everything and cheese). Don't try to get cutie with the order: two dogs with everything, a side of fries or onion rings and a drink. Two locations in Kingston. One Uptown and one in Mid-town. Basically identical twins of each other (Mid-town just has more parking and the municipal lot right behind the building). While you can eat in at either location, this is primarily a pick-up and go joint. During the lunch hour do yourself a favor and call in your order.

You know a place is good when there are TWO locations, about a mile apart, in a city with 20,000 people. The uptown location has something I'm a bit of a sucker for: old school counter service. Add in food prep behind said counter, delicious hot dogs, ugly florescent lighting and I'm a happy man. Dallas serves the classic hot dog, meat sauce, onion combo, but does things a bit differently than other similar hot dog joints. First, their dogs are boiled. What the dog loses in snap it makes up for in juiciness. The sauce is a thin chili sauce, not too heavy on the meat. It's spicy, spicier than any counterparts up in the Albany area. Sometimes you can even taste notes of cinnamon in their sauce, leading to an interesting flavor profile. They top it all off with minced onions and a line of spicy brown mustard. While I appreciate the skills involved in mincing onions, a dash of diced onions feels like it goes further than the tiny pieces. Dallas Hot Weiners is classic Kingston. Ever since they introduced me to hot dogs with meat sauce, I've felt a precipitous drop in my life expectancy.

Damn that wiener hit all the right spots (thats what she said... har har....) Seriously, this place delivers exactly as it should - consistent and tasty. Well worth a trip for a quick inexpensive bite.

Ive been here more times than I can count. My family lives in Clinton Corners which is on the other side of the hudson and east of the taconic pkwy. Its a long drive to Kingston but for these dogs the drive is absolutely worth it. I enjoy the old school vibe you get from this place. The dogs are awesome and the dallas sauce in my opinion is the best hot dog topping ive ever tasted. I take a jar of the sauce home with me every time to kick up my own home grilling experience. It's really that good folks, go and see for yourself.

Sadly this place's best days are past. Good ratings are earned.. In high school we used to come here. The nostalgia waned since. Overtly bright, smells of Clorox. Only one other person present. Overpriced meats, burger was overcooked. Owner plays favorites.

Thise are the worst hot dogs I have ever had.They are water logged hot dogs,when you bite into them they squirt.

Nice inexpensive dogs, wish they were fried though. Chili sauce is excellent and even has some spice to it which most places now days shy away from. Found me a regular stop just off the thruway to and from Albany!

Had better but decent. Price: 4/5 Probably the cheapest food you can get in the area. Had two Dallas wieners with everything, a Dallas cheeseburger and fries with sauce and cheese for under $10. Quantity: 3/5 pretty small portions, probably take three hot dogs or more to really fill you up, but the cheap price kinda makes up for that Atmosphere: 3/5 clean, with good quick service but nothing really special or outstanding Quality: 2/5 nothing special about the ingredients, pretty standard fast food fare Taste: 3/5 with what I consider below average hot dog and hamburger meats and buns, the only thing that really saves this place from a possible two star is their special sauce. Overall: 3/5 Decent fast food fare that is worth giving a shot if your in the area and on a budget. I'd recommend the sauce and cheese fries if you do come by.

Ugh. This is a hard pass...the hot dogs were, lukewarm, soft, mushy and covered in a secret sauce that resembles baby food, and something you find in a baby's diaper. Sorry. but it's true. The place is reminiscent of an old time diner. And it is I think, and the service was just okay. No warm and fuzzy vibes here. The French fries and onion rings looked good, though. We wish we had them instead.

Dallas Hot Wieners is a great place to go if you're in mood for a delicious hot dog. My boyfriend and I hadn't gone out on a date for a few weeks and wanted to try Kingston. We chose to give this place a chance. My only complaint is that while we were waiting for our dogs, a high ranking staff member working behind the grill demanded that we be seated as we waited for our food. He was extremely disrespectful to my boyfriend who was only trying to pay. He rudely pronounced that payment comes after you eat and would not listen as we told him we were trying to take the food to go. He then slammed our bag of food on the counter when he was finished making it and we left, dissatisfied with the service.

fantastic dogs and burgers, the owner Sammi makes you feel right at home and the fresh food is a welcome surprise for a kingston hole in the wall greasy spoon. I eat here every day before my shift because it is the only place i can get full for under $10 due to the amazingly economic pricing. That being said my meal is always in front of me within five minutes of ordering, and i know it is fresh because i see it getting made before my very eyes. This is definitely where you want to come if you are on a budget and want some great eats. My only critique is i wish it was 23/7 like so many greasy spoons are so that it could be a stop on bar crawls. Aside from that, this establishment's chili sauce is amazing, burgers are juicy yet lean, and dogs are to die for. A kingston gem if i ever seen one.

It's a wiener of unknown origin, it's warm out of the steamer. They give you mustard, ketchup, relish, and some sort of "wiener sauce" you can top it with. Why, people, why would you bother?? And they overcharge for it.

I go here all the time. I have literally eaten here dozens, if not hundreds of times. I can rattle off my order without looking up. "Dallas cheeseburger special with cheese and sauce on the fries, two with everything, and a large diet." Not much of a diet, eh? Well, that's how I roll. The hot dogs aren't of the highest quality, but that doesn't matter. They probably steam in that vat for hours by the time I get there. Hot dog water isn't the most pleasing concept, but you really don't go there for the flavor or quality of the dog. It's the sauce. I have no idea how they make this sauce, or how they make it so addictive. I think they put some kind of drug in there, because I can't get enough. I order it on everything. I've never bought any to take home, because I think it would lose its magical properties when it comes out the door with me. The burger patties are small, to be sure, but you can upgrade to a 1/4 pound burger patty for a little extra. The tomato slices are a little too thick compared to DHW's tomato slices "years ago" but I'm not complaining. I sit down, order my regular order, ask for my paper, and eat in bliss. Their fries are excellent -- hot, crispy, and inviting. I get them smothered in cheese and sauce... always. This is not a fancy restaurant. I usually eat here alone, because I feel so at home here and I don't know if any of my Health Food Hipster buddies would be able to enjoy it without a guilt bomb detonating somewhere inside them. My order comes out to just over $10. It's totally worth it, as I'm full for the rest of the day. I live only blocks from here.... wow, I might have to get up and walk over there this very second.

The hot dogs were very good. I've had a lot of hot dos in my day, but not like these. They were a little pricy for what you were getting, but all in all was worth it. The French fries were six par. Still a good place to go for quick service and a decent meal
