Dalloyau

A more high end sort of place for tea and pastries. They hold the distinction of having invented the Opera Cake, and continue to serve one of the best versions I’ve had. Overall the pastries and cakes can be a tad pricey but you’re getting top quality. I kind of miss the days when they had plenty of boxed sweets on sale… seems like the offerings have diminished somewhat (was hoping to buy some to bring back to friends). Nonetheless the sit in experience is still wonderful, especially after walking along Rue Faubourg St Honore.

When I take the photo of the desserts, the waiter said I cannot do it. But there is no signs. When I order the cake; the waiter directly use her hands to take it from the counter. ( I don’t think it’s suitable, which makes me feel like the cake is not clean anymore) The cake is too small and the taste is too sweet. Overall, not a good experien. And I think it is not worth as 11.5 Euro ( 2 Euro extra as dining in)

I had a lovely time at Dalloyau. It’s a great café with really delicious desserts. The atmosphere was nice, and the waitress who helped us was very kind. I definitely recommend stopping by!

I got a TooGoodToGo from here and the woman serving made me feel very unwelcome. I don’t know what part of me she deemed unacceptable as she was more polite to the person in front of me. But to me she was very rude. In terms of the pastries, I would say they were okay but a bit dry and not worth paying full price for.

We came here as it was one of the few places we found open on Christmas, and we were pleasantly surprised. We got two pastries as well as hot chocolate and they were all delicious! The hot chocolate was especially one of the best I had in paris. The service was good and the staff was very friendly - we had an easy time there inspite of a small language barrier. Overall, an amazing experience

Beautiful place, the atmosphere is ravishing and refined. Loved it. The pastries I tried did unfortunately not move me. The opera and the roulé noisettes were good, but somehow too creamy. Taste was masked by the amout of cream.

Beautiful shop, breathtaking presentation of the food, exciting experiments both on the sweet and savoury spectrum. We came here on a Monday morning to enjoy a good quality breakfast. The reason why I am giving only two stars is because everything that happened after we passed our order was a disappointment. We sat down outside, as it was a gorgeous autumn morning. We received our teas in two paper cups destined for espressos and not for teas! Our food arrived in plastic containers and we were given plastic cutlery. What a shock! You think you are in one of Paris' fanciest teahouses, and you are obliged to use disposable materials... We asked for normal cutlery and a proper tea-pot and were refused because we were sitting outside. I wonder if they are afraid that you'll run away with their things or what... It took several attempts on our side to have at least a proper amount of water with the tea. I would have expected a place like this to take more pride in how they serve their teas and their amazing food. Paper espresso mugs that contain just enough water to make the tea leaves wet (because apparently the personnel is not trained on how much tea should go in one of those white bags) is not at all acceptable in my opinion. What a pity, so incoherent with the impression the entire shop conveys... I won't even mention the fact that I wasn't given a small plate/container to put my teabag on, so I had to put it on the table where it was leaking all over the place... Attention to details even outside would be welcome!

To be fair, their desserts and hot chocolate are amazing. Unfortunately, the service doesn’t live up to the expectations. The desserts were served on a saucer instead of cake plate.

Classic and special without being horribly expensive. The ice cream is delicious and the atmosphere upscale enough to fée special. My nine year old grandson wanted to wear a tie.

If you're on a macaron tasting tour, you're going to want to include Dalloyau in your itinerary. This shop is just off of Rue du Bac, and it's perfect for takeaway. Our peach, pistachio, and tea selections were dainty and flavorful.

We accidentally stumbled into this place while sightseeing around Paris and wow this place is a must! The desserts are so beautiful, and the macarons are amazing. You can tell that they prepare in small batches and everything is super fresh. It is pricey but so worth it.

there's a special cake to celebrate the end of Christmas in France. Jan 6th is the festival of epiphany, where everyone eats Galette des Rois - the "cake of kings". the galette filled with frangipane (almond paste) is only sold during this time of year. and Dalloyau's is my favorite of all. i just don't know how something this good is available only for a week each year!! needless to say, i indulge. daily. the rest of the time i feast on delicious eclairs and patisserie. and the specialty cakes(seasonal collection) are higly appreciated gifts.

I definitely hadn't read anything about Dalloyau before trying the macarons but we saw some pretty damn interesting ones. I got the cognac/champagne macaron and my friend Kady got the thé Bergamote. We LOVED the cognac/champagne macaron. It was very flavorful and just so delicious! The macarons at Dalloyau are a lot chewier but still good. The Thé Bergamote was also good but just very simple and a bit too sweet and sugary without the intense flavors we were looking for. I'd like to try their other flavors to see if they all have the chewy texture and if maybe the other flavors are more intense than the Bergamot one... I definitely recommend the cognac/champagne macaron but not the thé bergamote.

While they have nice pastries, they are a bit pricey for what you get. We were tired and simply stopped here because it was there. Also, they really don't have a good beverage selection.

We had lunch upstairs in the Salon de thé, planning to shop downstairs afterwards for some delicious macarons. Expect 5 star service with immaculately dressed French men serving you coffee with steamed milk in the creamer pot. That's right, not cold milk, but steamed. I decided to have a light lunch to save room for dessert. My greens with fois gras and perfectly scrambled eggs was just the right amount. The eggs were nestled back into the egg shell for clever display. Dessert was a seasonal berry tart pleasing to the eye and palate. I wanted to take home a box of macarons home to Canada, but since our 2 week trip was only 5 days in, I settled for a mini box of 4 for my train trip to Lyon. And I don't have to say that those macarons were enjoyed to the last crumb!

J'adore les macarons de chez Dalloyau!!!! Divins!! After I had my very first macarons at Paul on Champ Elysee 10 years ago, I decided to stop by at Dalloyau on St. Honore to try more upscale brand macarons. Oh la la, they were so yummy! I couldn't tell which one was better.... Paul or Dalloyau....they were both good! I bought some macaron gift sets which were appreciated by everybody. I'm happy that there are Dalloyau chains in Japan as well because I go to Japan more often than France. I still haven't tried their famous opera cake yet..... for my next trip I'll definitely try it!!

Get your tastebuds ready for sweet deliciousness as you bite into these crisp and soft macarons. We stopped by in the late morning and bought some macarons to takeaway, there is a wide selection to choose from in addition to many pastries and chocolates. The shop front window display showcases all the wonderul desserts, they are definitely works of art!

The pastries and coffees are simply amazing. My daughter tried pain au chocolat at various patisseries around the city and loved the one here. Their opera cake is so light and packed with a good coffee flavor. The macaroons are absolutely delicious and they have the right consistency and balance of flavors, crunch and chewiness. We visited this location three times during our five day stay.

Did take away, and thus had a quiet, wonderful, lite, meal of quiche and puff pastry plus a desert. All was soooo tasty If interested the liquor store about 2-3 doors down has a great wine selection at great prices to complement the food we purchased at Dalloyau A definite must when in Paris

Loved every aspect of our brunch here. Paris is magical and this was just a wonderful way to start another day in vacation bliss. Everything was delicious.

Expensive but fantastic Croissants and Macaron. I must come back at my next Paris trip!

We went here for the great recommendation some pastries. We ended up having lunch my fiancé had cod and I had steak. Everything was cooked perfectly, nice presentation and perfect portions. We had an apricot the tour and the health specialty for dessert. And again our pallets were very please!

I had lunch here with a colleague and since I have to watch the sugar intake, I could not indulge in the patisserie and, alas, am unable to wax rhapsodic, on the macaroons and other delicacies. But, on the other hand, the cuisine at the Rue Faubourg de St. Honoré branch was excellent at lunch featuring delicious fish and the French take on chicken salad. The Muscadet wine was crisp and tasty but, having passed on dessert, feel that I somehow underutilized this Parisian prize.

We came here for some desserts and cafe during a rainy Sunday. Some of the desserts were not available. The macaroons were tasty! However, the they were very pricey! Nice place for a date - come after a meal to enjoy some desserts and chocolate.

Five years later, its still the same attention to quality and service. The macarons were wonderful. The best one of the lot was the 'Earl Grey' flavored macaron. Bravo Dallayau!.

Just like a visit to the Eifel Tower, this is must for everyone visiting Paris!! In fact this place had been there for much much longer..

If you can only have Laduree or these, come here. Besides the macarons, try the staggering pates de fruit as well.

We came to Paris for our 35th wedding anniversary. Although our hotel provided an excellent continental breakfast each morning, we were interested in trying somewhere new. The night before, a French couple suggested eating here. At first, we did not think there was a restaurant, because the bottom is all sweet yummy pastries and chocolates. However, going upstairs we were transported to another world. The executive chef, Pascale, was delightful. The croissants melted in our mouths, the omelets were savory and delicious and the coffee was heaven. The wait staff was unexpectedly attentive. After breakfast, we had 4 macaroons which were amazing as well.

This has got to be THE BEST chocolate eclair in Paris, if not the entire country of France! Treat yourself, you won't regret it...(or maybe you will, if you don't live here and can't get them regularly!).

Beautiful and delicious high quality pastries. Pricey, but good.
