D'Altons Studios

The cabins here are first-class. Spotlessly clean with all mod-cons including a huge smart TV and heated blankets. The grounds are lovely and peaceful and are home to friendly kangaroos and beautiful birds. I received a really warm welcome from Nara (?) and was given lots of helpful information on exploring the national park. Many thanks for a fantastic stay!

Halls Gap was absolutely chock full of people, but just out of the main shopping area and up a short drive D'altons Studios was an oasis of quiet. Host Ngaire welcomed us with care, and took time to explain the local attractions, rated them and advised best times to go. The studios are immaculate-clean and well maintained. We're thinking about coming back, just to stay there again. All studios face toward a creek and lawn with garden surrounds, so sit on the deck and watch the wildlife!. Kangaroos lying about in the afternoon, some carrying Joey's, is a bit special. Cheeky kookaburras and Magpies will come looking for any food you have outside, while you sit there, but can be gently shooed away. Highly recommend this accommodation.

Beds comfortable. Backstop mountains lovely and plenty kangaroos to go around. Very clean and comfortable. Only small drawback was tight parking space. Lovely lady at reception made us feel welcome. More than sufficient dishes and facilities to go around. Perfect for our purposes. The bed was spacious and had electric blankets fitted. Warm and toasty with the bed holding the heat hours after blanket switched off. Swing heater/cooler fitted to wall and large television with wifi connection.

Lovely little cottages/rooms, perfect for a couple. Great location where it's walkable to the town centre if you wanted to, but also secluded enough for peace and quiet. The rooms and grounds are really well maintained and clean, which we really appreciated. And the couple running the place are warm, friendly and helpful.

Excellent location, walking distance to the town. Studios are nice and cozy. However, there wasn't a dishwasher in mine. I don't mind doing the dishes but won't prefer on a vacation. The host was fantastic and explained everything we needed to know and could do even in the rainy weather.

My absolute favourite stay in Halls Gap! The host was friendly, room was clean and neat, and comes with everything you need for a couple of nights stay. The jacuzzi was the best thing they had because every night we indulged in it after a long day of hiking! We loved having an outdoor couch where we had breakfast watching animals go about their day.

Located a few hundreds meters from Halls Gap center, shops and restaurants, D'Altons Studio offers very nice and spacious cottages, in very good conditions. It's also a treat to wake up and see kangaroos in the garden. The hosts were also super friendly and took time to explain us all the things to see around. We highly recommend it :-)

Melbourne to Perth and back again staying in motels and cabins, some of which were ordinary in the extreme. Then we found this gem at Halls Gap in the Grampians in Victoria. Everything in this operation is absolutely first class. Meticulously maintained and top quality fittings and furniture throughout. We were so impressed. The lovely woman who runs it (Maree, I think) knows how to do it right.
