Clean, quiet and comfortable hostel accommodation. My daughter and I shared a double room. Made use of the kitchen and the bar. Liked all the different sitting spaces. Helpful staff. Handy for drop off/ pick up tour buses. Convenient for baths and zoo. Two downsides: 1. Cost. Felt this was really expensive for hostel accommodation, however nice. 2. There are no cafes or restaurants in the immediate location apart from astronomically expensive and awful Domino’s pizza. The last night we were there there was a fish and chip van in the campsite but there is nothing locally. And the nearest supermarket is about a 20 minute walk away. Local buses make getting into town very cheap and easy but they are not that frequent.

This was our first time staying in a hostel. We had our own room for five people with our own bathroom. We were just spending the night and headed out for adventures the next day so this was a perfect stay. We had a very nice breakfast and a great surrounding and, if we were staying longer, they provide spaces and opportunities for relaxation and enjoyment with your family and friends.

I had a great stay at Dalur Hostel. Although it's a bit too far to walk to the city center, you can take a bus. Rooms and kitchen were clean enough. You have almost everything you can expect from a hostel. The most of the staff were nice and friendly. I don't know if one person may need a bit more training, or it was just me. The breakfast was great for the price, but I overlooked the fact that I had to leave earlier. Instead of booking via online, it's a bit more flexible if you pay upfront.

I found a place online. I just needed a room for one night. The people are very pleasant and helpful. The room is very simple. It was a bunkbed with a desk and dressers. No air conditioning, but the staff provided a fan. The room is very hot because it is south facing. It is a simple accommodation. The people staying there seem to be very happy and Enjoying themselves. I was glad to be able to drop off my luggage there early-I had arrived in Reykjavík at 8 o’clock and they were able to accommodate storing luggage until my check in time at 3 PM.

Dorms were nice and quite clean. Comfy beds and near the bathroom!! Bathrooms were spacious but should be cleaned more regularly. The shared kitchen was also very convenient and had everything you need to cook but should also get cleaned more often. The kitchen towels were dirty and there was too much food left from people that should be decluttered on a regular basis. It also needs a bigger fridge and better ventilation.

Had a great experience staying at Dalur hostel for two nights bookending my trip. It was a convenient base of operations in Reykjavik. There is a bus stop and taxi pick up right out front. Downtown Reykjavik is a fairly easy walk for restaurants and city attractions etc. The staff were friendly and helpful upon checking in and out as well as answering questions. The interior and exterior spaces were clean and comfortable. It was generally pretty quiet. The grocery store and gas station were quick walks down the road. A couple added bonuses were the community hot spring pool right next door and top ranked ice cream shop!

We stayed in Dalur for five nights and travelled around Iceland from there. We got a private 4 bed room with private toilet and it was excellent. The room was clean and spacious. Kitchen is well equipped, with a fridge that can be used by guests (and as clean as it can for a shared kitchen). We had dinner there every night. Common spaces are fantastic and there are amazing vibes throughout the hostel. They offer a complementary breakfast (super rich) for 15 € per per person, there is a bar with snacks and beers (happy hour between 5 and 7 pm every day). There is also a game room available to all guests. We didn't use it but there is also a laundry room and outside space (was too cold when we stayed there). All in all we highly recommend this place for a stay in Reykjavik! Free parking available in front of the hostel as well.

A very peaceful and quiet place with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was especially lovely to sit on the terrace in the evenings and enjoy the views. The room was clean, and the toilets and showers were well-maintained and tidy. Unfortunately, there was one situation that really disappointed me: The contents of my clearly labeled basket in the guest kitchen fridge were completely removed. These were special gluten-free products I had brought with me from Germany due to my gluten intolerance. Imagine being dropped off late at night and picked up again very early in the morning — with no time to go shopping. I had to go to bed hungry, which was upsetting. I understand that this wasn’t the staff’s fault, but it was still frustrating during an otherwise very positive stay.
