Damai Beach Resort, Santubong, Sarawak.

Had a wonderful stay at Damai Beach Resort and would like to thank the reservation officer for their prompt response. We stay in a chalet, and the room was good, with a very comfortable bed, the bed height was a little high for younger children. The kids had a great time enjoying the beach and the swimming pool. The resort also provides convenient buggy & van services. The breakfast offered a variety of choices, and the nasi lemak was especially delicious. Overall, the service was excellent. Highly recommend this resort.

Overall its nice and worth for the short stay. Actually we were told last minute that our rooms had to be changed during check-in but its not a big problem. The room that they gave us also nice and spacious. The receptionist and staffs there also nice and friendly too. The food during breakfast also delicious, it just that I hope it more variety.

We stayed at Damai Beach Resort and found it generally comfortable with some useful things to note for future guests. If you need connecting rooms, the Chalet units are a good choice. Each chalet building typically has three rooms that can interconnect. Two rooms come with one king size bed each, while one room has two double beds. The Hillview rooms also have connecting options, usually one room with three single beds and the adjoining room with one double bed and one single bed. Each Hillview room also comes with an additional pull out single bed, which means every room can comfortably accommodate two adults and two children. The hotel allows this arrangement without extra room charges, though breakfast for children above four years old costs RM33 per child. Do note that connecting rooms have poor sound insulation, so if you are booking only one room, the Poolside rooms are a better option. They are quieter and closer to the beach and the restaurant. The facilities are somewhat old, but the beds are new and very comfortable. Basic toiletries are provided, but toothbrushes, combs and razors are not, so you will need to bring your own. There is a filtered water dispenser available for guests to refill drinking water. Overall, it is a relaxing beachfront resort with a pleasant atmosphere, suitable for families, although some areas could benefit from refurbishment.

The Good • Breakfast: The morning buffet is a highlight—tasty, high-quality, and a great start to the day. The Bad • Food Delivery: The hotel has a strict "no outside food" policy. If you order Grab, you have to walk all the way to the main gate to pick it up; they won’t allow drivers to drop it at the lobby. • Water Quality: The infrastructure seems a bit dated. On the second day, the shower water turned brown (looking like soil), which is a major downside for a comfortable stay.

Overall, the experience was excellent. The reservation service was good, and the buggy car service was a nice touch-especially for families, as kids enjoyed it and it was very helpful for check-in and check-out when bringing belongings to and from the room. The breakfast buffet was decent, with all the basic offerings such as an egg and noodle station. Areas of improvement: - The room door could be repaired, as the chalet I stayed in was difficult to open and close and required a hard push. - The lunch menu could be improved in terms of taste.

I recently spent a few days at Damai Beach Resort, staying in one of their chalets, and it turned out to be one of the most refreshing getaways I’ve had in a long time. The moment I stepped into the room, I felt an instant sense of calm spacious, clean, and warmly decorated, it had that cozy “home by the beach” feeling that made me settle in right away. The service throughout my stay was another highlight. Every staff member I met greeted me with genuine smiles and was always ready to assist, whether it was arranging transport, offering recommendations, or simply checking if everything was alright. Their warm hospitality truly made the experience feel personal. Of course, nothing beats the location. Waking up to the sound of waves, with the beach just a short walk from the chalet, felt like a dream. The resort sits at the foot of Mount Santubong, so you’re surrounded by both the ocean and lush greenery the perfect balance of nature and relaxation. Staying in the chalet gave me the privacy and peaceful atmosphere I was hoping for. Sitting on the veranda in the early morning, feeling the sea breeze and listening to the birds, became my favourite routine. Overall, Damai Beach Resort gave me exactly what I needed comfort, great service, and a beautiful location to unwind.

It is amazing. The breakfast was good. The drink doesnt have any variation but love they have fruit infused drink. However, it is 2025, my room doesnt have any wifi and we suddenly on crisis when there is no toothpaste(truly our fault cause we thought its provided)

We had an issue with the water supply but that was resolved by the team when they moved us up to the hilltop. There was no WiFi as promised on agoda. But view was fantastic and breakfast was great too. We especially enjoyed the clifftop swimming pool.
