Damasca One Restaurant

​While Damasca One occupies one of the most prominent and beautiful spots in Souq Waqif, the actual dining experience felt significantly misaligned with the premium pricing. As a frequent traveler, I don’t mind paying more for a prime location, but the value proposition here simply wasn't there. For a restaurant that positions itself as a top-tier Syrian dining destination, the portions for Kebab platter was surprisingly small, leaving us underwhelmed by the end of the meal. ​The culinary execution was equally disappointing. While the presentation was acceptable, the taste was mediocre at best—especially when compared to the vibrant, authentic flavors found at other local spots just a few streets away. It felt more like a "tourist-focused" menu where the quality of the ingredients didn't justify the bill. For the price they are charging, you expect a level of depth and refinement that just wasn't present in the dishes we served. ​The atmosphere and decor are certainly impressive, and it’s a great place for people-watching, but that alone isn't enough to carry the experience. If you are looking for a high-end Syrian meal in Doha, there are much better options that offer a more honest balance of price, portion, and flavor. Unless you are specifically looking for the "main strip" seating and don't mind overpaying for it, I would suggest looking elsewhere for a more authentic and rewarding dinner.

We went to this Arabic spot and it was honestly very, very good. We ate extremely well. The food was fabulous, very traditional, well prepared, and made with fresh ingredients. The flavors were well balanced, authentic, and comforting. The hummus deserves a special mention, incredibly fresh, smooth, and full of flavor. One of those that you really enjoy from the first bite. We were looking for vegetarian food and we ended up in this restaurant they doesn’t have vegetarian option, but they do have the start which was like which was very heavy. So we have it as a dinner and we ordered some drinks and their food was so amazing so authentic, Syrian restaurant.

Damasca One in Doha is one of my favourite places to visit — I come here regularly, and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, with beautiful Syrian touches that make you feel at home the moment you sit down. The food is always fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented, from their classic mezze to their perfectly grilled dishes. I especially love visiting during Ramadan. The ambiance becomes even more special, with warm lights, traditional music, and a peaceful, festive feeling that makes the experience unforgettable. Their iftar is generous, delicious, and always prepared with great attention to detail. Whether you’re coming for a casual meal or a special evening out, Damasca One offers amazing food, great service, and an atmosphere that keeps you coming back again and again. Highly recommended! 🌙✨

This restaurant is large and seems to be rather popular, though being seated right at the far end left us a little unloved! We ordered the chicken kabseh and mixed shawmar, both were generous portions. The chicken was tad dry and i had to navigate around the splinters of bone, but the rice was delicious. In the mixed swarmah, the lamb was quite fatty, though the chicken was good.

We went to Damascus One last night as a family of 3. We ordered chicken liver, hummus, shish tawook, chicken kabsa, lemon mint, and fresh mango juice. The chicken liver was tasty, the hummus was smooth and fresh, and the shish tawook was tender. The chicken kabsa was flavorful and filling. The drinks were refreshing, especially the lemon mint, and the mango juice tasted natural. Overall, a nice simple dinner with good portions and comforting food.
