Charming spot in Rouen! The terrace is absolutely lovely and peaceful — perfect on a sunny day. The tea selection is excellent. I tried tea dames and the chocolate peanut cake, and my friend had the Jeanne tea and the framboise cake. They were so delicious. Highly recommend for a cozy afternoon treat near the cathedral!

Dame Cake Salon de Thé is one of those spots that seems to show up on every "must-visit" list in Rouen, so naturally, I had to check it out. From the moment you arrive, it’s hard not to be impressed by the beautiful window display filled with tempting pastries. It definitely sets high expectations. We visited around 11 a.m. and were lucky to be seated right away without waiting in line. We already knew what we wanted: the famous Tarte Tatin, served with mascarpone cream, and a crumble with pears and chocolate. Unfortunately, neither dessert lived up to the hype. The tarte tatin had a soggy base and the chocolate in the crumble didn't mix well with the pears, and I honestly couldn’t understand what all the fuss was about—or why people are willing to queue so long to eat here. I rated it 2 stars instead of 3 because of the big disappointment. With so many great places to enjoy desserts in Rouen, I believe there are much better options out there. This one didn’t live up to its reputation for me.

Very cute cake and tea shop with strong coffee! Rhubarb tart was very good. Didn't order tea this time, but I'm familiar with the brand and its very high quality. I think the current rating of 4.3 stars for this restaurant is a bit low, given my experiences elsewhere. Staff speak excellent English

Charming and Romantic Tea Room in the Heart of Rouen! If you're looking for a romantic and cozy spot in Rouen, Dame Cake is a wonderful place to visit. This delightful tea room feels like stepping into a real-life dollhouse, it's incredibly charming. It's the perfect place to unwind with a cup of Mariage Frères tea and indulge in one of their delicious homemade cakes. Their hot chocolate is also a must try, rich yet comforting. On sunny days, the lovely outdoor terrace offers a peaceful spot to enjoy your treats in the open air. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Dame Cake offers a truly enchanting experience.

A charming cafe in a beautiful building. The atmosphere has been enhanced through a carefully curated selection of serving ware and china, and other decorative items. The cakes and hot chocolate with chantilly cream were delightful.

Google
A lovely little cake house serving good coffee and cakes. The staff speaks English and very helpful in explaining the menu to us. The cakes are not too sweet and the fruits are naturally fresh! A must-visit if you are near Notre-dame cathedral in Rouen 💕

- Beautiful, cozy, elegant atmosphere. - Friendly and helpful staff - we asked our waitress to help us with the translation of the main plates from french to english and she was very eager to do so and help us decide what to choose. - Variety of choices for teas and cakes/desserts.

The line moved pretty fast so we were able to get in and out as quickly as we needed. More to the point, the pastries were out of this world delicious! I recommend the cake a’la violette. The icing was nice, the cake very good, the cream supplied to pour over was amazing, but the absolute best was the flavor bomb of blackcurrant in the center. They even had gluten-free pastries for my husband.

Yelp
You're sitting on the back terrace, listening to the chiming of distant church bells, hearing the wind swish through the creeping vines, sipping on a cup of hot tea. You've made it through the delicious cake you picked for yourself and aren't ordering another, because you don't want to fall asleep with contentment. You manage to pay for your bill and leave without picking up all the delicious inducements that would have been perfectly reasonable to pick up for yourself if you weren't on a budget. You would be here at Dame Cakes. Don't miss it if you are visiting Rouen.

Yelp
I stopped here because I was completely frozen and thought tea would be a good idea. This shop is a lovely bakery in front and a small tearoom in back. It's cozy, with very pretty floral decor. If you come after 12, they serve a small lunch menu. I was there early so I had a pot of tea and cake - a raspberry something or other. The cake was really good - dense but not dry and not too sweet. Perfect with tea. Service was fine, and the prices are fair.

Yelp
Lovely tea house. Didn't try more than the tea. It was delicious. Calm spot to stop and refresh or visit with a friend.

Yelp
A lovely restaurant, pastry and tea shop directly next to Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Rouen. Ask for the upstairs seating and you will have a great view from the windows. The servers are very friendly and helpful and present an English menu if you do not speak French. Our lunch was outstanding and typical French at it's best. We each had a puff pastry with apples and Neufchatel cheese with smoked ham and salad. My desert of an Almond Crumble with hot melted chocolate and pears was worthy of Michelin star rating! The Chocolat Chaud "Mamie", hot chocolate with orange was outstanding as well. A side note, after you finish you take your list of what you ordered which is left on the table by your server to the counter to pay. Dame Cakes is a true French gem in Rouen.

Yelp
Centrally located, Dame Cakes is a fancy tea room and restaurant on two floors, for the dilettante upper-class ladies having tea and cakes with their friends, and the tired tourist couples with grumpy kids (and these two groups of people don't mesh well, BTW). Accordingly, prices are a little high but you get what you pay for: all pastries are fresh and excellent, teas are Mariage Freres (one of the best houses). The decor is also refined, and they have a nice little courtyard with tables, for the 3 days per year that it does not rain in Rouen. They also offer a lunch service, with savoury tarts and salads, which are pretty decent. So this should have been worth 4 stars easily, but service is very slow and sometimes cold. And none of the staff could make a full sentence in English. So you'd better be able to speak some French in there. So, a good option if you are not in a hurry and can speak rudimentary French.

Yelp
Cute place to have tea and delicious pastries. They also had an amazing hot chocolate with a mountain of whipped cream. It's a small place but very cozy. The chairs could be a be more comfy but other than that everything was great!

Yelp
Near cathedral. Lovely exterior and old fashioned interior. Cozy, pleasant atmosphere. Two levels, upstairs a little more roomy. Many tea options and desserts. Some light meals like soups. Two cups of soup and onen tea about 17 euros.

Yelp
Love this place! It gets busy in the afternoon, so be prepared to wait or come earlier. They have freshly made cakes everyday, and many types of tea, so you choose one of each and it's a lovely way to spend an afternoon. It's very close to the Notre Dame Cathedral, so make sure to stop in here for a cozy snack if you're nearby!

Yelp
Absolutely fabulous, cosy place for tea time.
