Damn Fine Cafe

Lovely atmosphere 👌 position in Lichfield City ,inside seats are comfortable, as are outside, my pork lunch was excellent 👌 one of the best to be honest ,staff helpful 😀 reasonable price also ,nice music in background .Good people watching seats, 👀 🙄. So a 5 star 🌟 🤩 from me ,visiting from Australia 🇦🇺 😀.

The food here is average. The waitresses are all hard working and polite. The woman who runs the cafe, however is rude and impolite. I have been taking a friend on ours there on a Saturday. He is 102 years old and I take him to Lichfield on a Saturday to do some shopping, have a bite to eat. This woman has been very off with me, every time we go there. She never says hello and gives me dirty looks. The only recognition I've got from her was a kind of smirk, when I made a point of saying hi to her on Saturday. I was waiting to be served at the counter, and she complety ignored me. After about half a minute, I told my friend we are leaving. I said thank you to her as we left. I will NEVER set foot in that place ever again. Im a paying customer and this woman sees me as a piece of dirt. She has absolutely no reason to act like this towards me, but she will never have the opportunity to do so ever again.

The Damn Fine Cafe does a Damn poor breakfast! I visited Lichfield with my wife and decided to start the trip with breakfast. Well, to be totally honest, it was really poor quality for what we paid for it. The bacon was overcooked, and the beans were all dried up and resembled a sticky mush on a plate, no bean sauce in sight. The only positive thing was that the food was hot, my tea came out with my breakfast and the lady on the till taking the orders was both efficient and friendly. The search will continue for the best Lichfield breakfast, but unfortunatly the Damn Fine Cafe isn't one of them.

Literally just walked out of here after waiting 35 minutes for two pork buttys. The staff were disinterested and verging on rude. £6 was charged for drinks that had been consumed long before the patience ran out. A thoroughly unenjoyable experience. I type this review from Faro lounge, just a little further down the road and seems far better. Edit to respond to the disappointing response from the cafe. This ‘wait’ was not explained to us at the time of ordering as the staff didn’t seem interested in serving us at all.

Indoor ventilation can improve, especially during the busy hours as the smoke can cover the whole cafe and made us smell poor after eating here. The pancake can also improve. Food is generally good but would expect the “real” American style pancake like thicker and larger in size. Staff was very nice btw.

This cafe was very pleasant, clean and fresh and nice. I ordered a carrot and orange soup and a sandwich too, I was not disappointed with my order. I would recommend you try out this cafe and get your yourself a soup of the day. Lovely

Absolutely beautiful little cafe, I only stopped for a cup of tea ( which was 10/10 as far as teas go ) The food smelt and looked AMAZING. Wish I had time for a bite. Can’t fault the staff, very friendly and smiley. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I just felt I had to leave a review. 10/10 to everyone x

I went here today for a toastie and latte, both of which were nice. The staff were friendly however I didn't appreciate hearing all about the chef's love life as I didn't feel it was appropriate especially as she was talking to a colleague. I sat by the window so it's not like I was even remotely close to them. Although I will return, it will be on a day when they are busy and won't have time to have such discussions.

A nice cafe with a good selection of snacks ideal for a lunchtime clean and comfortable and with reasonable prices. well worth a visit.
