Dan Carmel Hotel, Haifa – 2-night stay, August weekend
Overall, our experience at Dan Carmel was very positive, and I would consider returning—perhaps next time with kids. The hotel is generally well-maintained, and the rooms are comfortable with one of the most breathtaking views I’ve seen from a hotel, overlooking Haifa Bay.
The pool area is relatively large, with plenty of seating, although not all shaded. Breakfast was exceptional, with a wide variety of fresh options, many made on-site, which we really enjoyed.
However, there are areas where the hotel could improve. Check-in was the most frustrating part of our stay: the line was chaotic, unclear where it started or ended, and reception staff simply served whoever reached the counter first. Some personal attention at arrival and departure—like help with luggage on the entrance stairs—would enhance the guest experience.
Breakfast felt a bit disorganized as well. Guests are asked for their room number, but seating isn’t always guided, and sometimes people took tables we had started using. With the hotel appearing fully occupied, it seems they may not be fully prepared to provide smooth service when busy.
Overall, though, the positive aspects—especially the view, room quality, and fantastic breakfast—outweigh the drawbacks. With a few service improvements, this could be an even better experience.
