I'm at supercool staff, and bloody amazing greek style coffee. It was literary brilliant.

Google
A small shop with several indoor seats, I love how they still do the design for the store and actually makes it look amazing a bigger! I ordered an ice latte and it was really good as well as the price. I work close by and this will be my coffee place for sure!

Ellen

Google
Cute coffee shop nestled in among many shops. Coffee was good as well as their pastries! They use La Colombe coffee beans and their selection of pastries is varied. Pastries are from Balthazar and Colson Patisserie. I tried their cheddar scallion savory scone and rhubarb scone and both were very good; the rhubarb scone didn't taste as fresh as the cheddar scallion scone but I got them on different days. I wish the store was a bit cleaner and wish they had labels on their pastries to know what was what and the price. Would definitely go back.

Google
Absolutely love this spot! The croissants are delicious, and the egg sandwich with avocado is a must-try. The vibe is chill and relaxing, perfect for a laid-back morning/weekend afternoon. The staff is super friendly, especially Reshika, who makes one of the best iced cappuccinos. Their coffee is also top-notch as La Colombe is one of my faves. Highly recommend this cozy joint!

Google
Went in for a black coffee to go and ended up staying and order a cappuccino instead. Small, quiet spot on a busy Ave. My wife order an iced tea and it was refreshing. My cappuccino was really good. Well balanced espresso-milk ratio and perfectly steamed. I other words, the cappuccino was perfect. I have to be honest to say that I wasn’t expecting it. Good spot.

First of all, this place closes at 5pm and not 6 pm as indicated on Google Map. Second of all, i ordered canale. The staff picked it up, dropped it on the table, picked up and dropped it again, and placed that piece in the bag for me… This is so not professional. I enjoyed the draft latte but such gesture was too much to handle.

Google
The menu says that the Avocado Toast has parsley oil, cucumber, watermelon radish, feta, and sunflower seeds. This is what I got when I ordered one. When I asked if they forgot to put the radish, they simply said “Oh, we don’t do this anymore”. Not much feta on the toast as well. So, I basically got a piece of bread with a cucumber. Not sure if it’s worth $7. Coffee was good though.

Google
Great beverages and amazing pastries but I believe there could more thought put into the sandwich menu. I probably should have told them I did not like the turkey sandwich because the way it is made of thick Turkey cuts bursting out of the toast that was not toasted. I was just not feeling it. It was a miss. But I would return for the lovely fresh pastries and their Coffee and Chai.

Yelp
Solid matcha latte! Didn't love my breakfast bagel sandwich but I think that was my fault - I prob should have added tomato and bacon or something. Just did egg and cheese. Other than that, service was great and I love the location! Super easy to get to.

Yelp
This is a very small, quaint coffee shop with delicious pastries. I'm always looking for the best espresso with chocolate and almond croissants. Displaced did not disappoint as they have the moni chocolate. The almond croissant comes from a bakery in SoHo. The Staff was friendly. And I love a seat by the window. I would recommend this place. Great atmosphere to meet a friend and have a quick bite.

Yelp
Wanted to like this place because I thought it looked cute but I was super disappointed. Here are all the things that made this experience terrible: (1) when I walked in, the person behind the counter was looking down at their phone. I waited an actual whole 20 seconds before I decided to break the ice and say hello first (count 20 seconds and you'll realize just how long this is). How do you not greet a customer or even have a clue someone just walked into your establishment?? (2) I got an iced latte and from the first sip I could tell this coffee just wasn't it. Either they use super dark roast, the beans aren't fresh, or the shot they used was burnt. It was not a good latte. (3) the space was just janky in general. It looked cute in photos but something about the joint seemed dirty and similar to what I'd expect of a New York City subway. If there are flies, and chunky ones at that, buzzing around a place that serves food & drinks, that is not a good sign. What confirms my feelings about this place is that I told my partner, when I got home, about my experience here and they knew exactly what cafe I was talking about before I even named it. Turns out they had a similar experience too of the space and drinks made here months ago. Not planning on coming back here unless all the other cafes happen to close their doors on the same day and this becomes the only option. Even then, I'll probably skip this place.

Yelp
Dan Jones Cafe was another accidental find. I had Le Colombe this week elsewhere and thought it was bland. Today it was pretty good tasting at Dan's. The young man on a Sunday Morning was really nice. He said it would be about 7 minutes to brew a fresh pot. I said I would wait. The seating inside is rather close quarters for my liking. While I waited for my coffee the girl next to me left so I felt better taking my mask off. It's nice and cool in here. The decor is relaxing as well as the music. I see there's avocado toast on the menu too. One morning I may eat here as well. For $2 a cup I'll definitely return for coffee when I'm in the neighborhood!

Yelp
Bagels and coffee. Dan Jones is an interesting place. It sounds like a place to get insurance or investment planning. However, it's a good investment for your mouth. There's also some lunch sandwiches. Good place for a small breakfast. I was doing some gift shopping and stopped in. This is a cozy place. Inside there's a counter. There's lots of pastries and treats on display. If you're looking for more of a meal, a popular choice at breakfast is a bagel. They also have coffee and tea. It's about $3 for a regular drip. The bagels are about $3 with a spread. At lunch they have larger sandwiches and items. They also make avocado toast if you need that hipster stuff. It has a few outlets to plug your phone in. Quiet place for doing work or looking up stuff. There's usually pastries but they run out fast so get here early if you want any of these.

Yelp
This is a super cute coffee shop tucked in the corner of a busy intersection - it's also located kind of close to Central Park so you can grab something before heading to the park! The store itself is very small but there were a couple of open tables when I came on a Sunday afternoon. I probably wouldn't recommend this place to get work done as it can get pretty loud, but if you just want a place to read a book or catch up with friends, this is a cute local spot. There was only one worker but he was able to get the drinks out pretty fast! Prices are also standard for NY - I paid around $5.50 for a chai latte with oat milk.
google avatar

Wesley K.

Yelp
Not good vibes about the energy here. The workers were okay, but the iced coffee was lacking. Usually cold brew/iced coffee energizes me, but here the cold brew/iced coffee sapped my energy and made me drowsy. Never had iced coffee do that to me before. Other than that, everything here is very average, but fair. Most likely would not come back unless super desperate for options in this area.

The staff picked it up, dropped it on the table, picked up and dropped it again, and placed that piece in the bag for me... This is so not professional. Yelp
Alright coffee joint with similarly alright apathetic service. This used to be the only place close in the area that had La Colombe draft lattes on tap so they got away with making it 75% foam but now there's other better places (not to mention it being better canned for the price from Duane Reade and others) so I don't really bother getting their stuff anymore. I prefer Brooklyn Diamond for the usual coffee drinks (as it's better for the price) and Daniel's Coffee for everything else (such as their fantastic shakerato and other specialty coffees) with both of them having pleasant staff. Pastries such as their almond croissants are good but it's Balthazar so of course they are good (with their canelé from somewhere else also being good.) Their egg sandwich is unique and good. Nice aesthetics though.

Monica T.

Yelp
Great place to take a break or work. Lovely people and really good drinks. Not many cute places in the area, highly recommend.
google avatar

Nicholas G.

Yelp
Small coffee shop with good sandwiches. I had the roast beef and it was pretty good. Whatever sauce they had on there added needed flavor to the roast beef. The tuna was also lovely. They do have a few tables in here if you want to dine in. Not sure anything really impressed me to come back but if I am in the area I wouldn't have a problem returning. Come for a coffee/tea!

Yelp
Unassuming spot tucked away on Third Avenue around a few other lunch spots. Basic interior with a few tables to the right, utensils to the left, and some pastries behind the glass (which slowly diminishes as the day goes on). Never really a line here in the afternoon, so quickly can order a Drip Coffee ($3ish) and a Yogurt Parfait ($6). Pretty basic stuff but delivers on what is promised. Coffee is strong and they and the right amount of milk and sugar. Yogurt Parfait is a layering of non-sweetened yogurt, berries, granola, and a side of honey. Light and easy to eat, without feeling too full for lunch. Again, never really busy here so the service is quick. Not sure how the pastries are but they do offer some sandwiches as well.
google avatar

Yelp
I came here on a weekend afternoon. It's a completely fine coffee shop. They have all the standard drinks and coffee shop pastries for a reasonable price, and they have about 8 indoor seating spots. The baristas were efficient. It's nothing to go out of your way to visit, but if you're in the area and need coffee, it's a great option.
google avatar

Joy G.

Yelp
I had so-so memories of this space from when it used to be a really mediocre juice and salad shop, and had meh hopes that it would turn out to be a good coffee shop. Well, the coffee is sharp and strong and does the trick of keeping me relatively bright-eyed but, as other reviews have alluded to, the vibes put out by the front counter are not always the friendliest. I've come when it's empty and I've come when there's a line and almost always, I can count on a scowl or the absolute bar minimum for human interactions. Or they're too busy checking their phones, bopping to the music or chatting with each other. Which sucks because to my knowledge, Dan Jones is the only place relatively close by that offers: 1) This cheesy scone that I always regret a smidgen because eating it feels like swallowing a brick whole but it tastes so, so good. Especially when you brave a grumble and they toast it for you. 2) Some sort of sticky pecan bun that I like to have with a latte for the best afternoon pick me up. On the other end of the spectrum, I've had the brownest avocado toast here that I've ever seen. I'm not above eating a super brown avocado out of its skin crouched over my garbage bin but I definitely would think twice before serving it to someone else. Maybe I'm just coming by on off days but that said ... I do come by a lot.

Yelp
Better options in the neighborhood for coffee. Very watered down brews. I ordered a chai latte and it was very sugar heavy and tasted like milk. They use some sugar water concentrate. Definitely needs improvement for the price.
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Cute, tiny coffeeshop that makes the most of it's space. Beautiful ceiling and a surprising amount of tables packed in. The pastries are eye-catching and wide ranging. The special cookies and caneles caught our eye. We were curious about the draft latte (a foamy cold brew concoction) and they kindly let us try some - it tasted delicious. I ended up ordering a decaf cortado oat milk, which was beautiful. Either the oat milk or espresso had a very bitter flavor though, and it was hard to taste the coffee itself. Overall, a solid cortado but not for my personal taste.

Yelp
Great cafe spot! Came here on a Saturday afternoon to catchup with a friend. I got the Avocado Toast and the Cold Brew, which were good. The interior is cute and the staff working the front were nice.
google avatar

Carol L.

Yelp
This place is just tooooo cute!! Usually I stop in for a cold brew to go, and it's quite lovely. Super aesthetic shop with minimal seating, but people definitely like lounging here on the weekends with a friend or two for an intimate catch up sesh.

Jade Y.

Yelp
$5 draft latte = 50% foam. Walked the 4 blocks to my apartment and my seemingly full cup was reduced to this. What remains tastes fine, so 2 stars.
google avatar

James G.

Yelp
Great coffee at this Lil shop. Place has a nice decor and friendly staff. Desserts are good too
google avatar

Tülin Y.

Yelp
I had an almond milk latte and chocolate croissant here. They both were so yummy. The only thing is that the place should be cleaned more frequently.
google avatar

Jacki P.

Yelp
This place is a find! Cute little cafe with great prices. I had an egg and cheese sandwich (served all day) that was amazing. The eggs were cooked perfectly. There was a generous amount of cheddar cheese inside and some dill on top of the eggs, and the whole thing was on a soft brioche roll. It was $4!!!

Scott H.

Yelp
Their "large" size is a small in my mind If it's good I'll be ok, but nothing that blows me away
google avatar

Yelp
just tried the tuna sandwich. good price, quick service. i'm sold. loved the baguette
google avatar

Alby B.

Yelp
Service was appalling! (Went on Saturday may 25th 2019) when the extremely loud music was paused by the server so he could take the order, my wife said "thanks that is better" the server said "F***k no" and turned it up again. One of those places where staff feel that they are cool than cool because they work in a coffee shop. Just don't go.

Barb Q.

Yelp
Very nice and efficient barista. They remember regulars and are considerate enough to ask and allow detailed changes to your order. And coffee is also good! Saw many orders for bagels only, so will have to be back to try their food, too.
google avatar

Wei P.

Yelp
Newly opened coffee shop in midtown with some not so midtown vibes (in a good way!) this place offers la colombe coffee and fulfills my matcha latte needs as well; also has a solid selection of sandwiches in case you're craving something savory. Overall, a great addition to the neighborhood!

Yelp
Saturday, April 7 at 10am. *Comes in... sees coffee spilled by the entrance walks around it and walks towards the counter* Me: hey, can I get an americano and black coffee? Barista: (sassy tone) GOOD MORNING! How about we start with that?!? Me: uh okay... Barista: you want a container for that? Me: huh? Barista: do you need something to hold your coffees? Me: no *walks out with coffee thinking what a dbag* I was going to write a poor review right then and there but the stores yelp site wasn't up yet. Such a shame because I drink coffee everyday and I live in the same building as this shop. Im going to stick with getting my coffee @ Madame Sousou Cafe TL;DR: come here for coffee with a side of attitude...
google avatar

Jen V.

Yelp
Fast, really friendly, great food! The vegan toast was so flavorful and the canele was perfectly caramelized on the outside and spongy on the inside.

Andrew P.

Yelp
I had mixed feelings after visiting Dan Jones, overall I think it is fine but nothing special. First the Turkey sandwich was overall very boring, and I'll probably skip the food all together next time. However, this is mainly a coffee shop and the cold brew was good. However, one of my biggest pet peeves (which may not matter to most) is having simple syrup out for cold brew/iced coffee, which was not present here. For just the coffee I would give Dan Jones 4 stars.
google avatar

Samuel K.

Yelp
This is an excellent spot to eat great food and drink a nice coffee. I went here to drink a good coffee with my wife and I was absolutely satisfied with everything they had to offer. The service was very nice and the staff are really friendly. The interior design is very beautiful! And the food doesn't fall behind at all. I had a Cappuccino and it was just perfect. I would definitely come back and recommend them!
google avatar

Jillian V.

Yelp
Would come here daily if I could. Everything is delicious, fast and the vibe is awesome. The guys that work here (Judah and Sam!!) are great and it's a pleasure to come to this coffee shop. They are constantly growing their menu and ideas. Love it
google avatar

Akira N.

Yelp
Finally a coffee shop that's close to where I work! The coffee is great, strong comparing to JVC and Magnolia (but not bitter or sour). Pastries are tasty and they also offer sandwiches which is good for a quick bite. Relax vibes and unique decorations. I go at least 2-3 times a week to get my coffee fix, keep up the good work Dan Jones!
google avatar

Natalia L.

Yelp
One of my favorite coffee shops in NYC. It may be small, but the people and coffee make up for it! Love their iced oat latte or cold brew. And their bagels are really good. Definitely check it out if you're in the area!!!
google avatar

Michel L.

Yelp
I came here for the first time and noticed that one of the best baristas in NY was behind the counter. The long trip was totally worth it. Great coffee and beautiful space
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
Coffee and monkey bread was great. They were out of 80% of items on their menu which is the reason for 3 stars. Worth it for a quick coffee but not much more

Hannah B.

Yelp
Great coffee, great service, super friendly staff! Try their AMAZING draft latte (I had it without milk) and vegan toast!

David E.

Yelp
Definitely recommend this coffee shop for the coffee and even the food which is on point (aka good). Thanks again for the great service Must try his specialty draft latte David Australia
google avatar

Jerry S.

Yelp
Dan Jones you are truly incredible, I had a lovely experience here yesterday. It's kind of the perfect location. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and very tasty. All of the staff are super welcoming - you most certainly feel welcome and taken care of. I can not say enough good things about Dan Jones.
google avatar

M J.

Yelp
THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EXPERIENCED IN A LONG TIME! I was on my way to Starbucks when one of my colleagues hands me a small token to go check out Dan Jones, and get a coffee - I was super excited to stop by this morning, I've had Colombe coffee before and it's incredible - but c'mon it's coffee! and Starbucks is right around the corner. I complete my order, was first one in line, and ordered a latte and an egg sandwich (which was +$9). While chatting with my friend, I saw a cup ready to go and I go to grab it - all of the sudden one of the man behind the counter yells at me and with a very sassy and rude tone yells: "DON'T TAKE THAT, THAT'S NOT YOUR COFFEE". I proceed to keep talking to my friend, and he prepares two other drinks (keep in mind I was the first one to order and I asked for a latte, how hard to make is that!?). The third cup he sits on the counter, seemed like a latte and since 3 people had already gone before me, and I heard latte - I pick that one up. He goes crazy on me and yells at me "MA'M THAT'S NOT YOUR COFFEE DON'T TAKE THAT, YOU NEED TO PAY ATTENTION!" Really!? where am I, why are you talking to me like that and who the hell does he think he is to speak to customers that way? I asked him to take a step back and not speak to me that way, and he continued to argue, and say that he had "TOLD ME 3 TIMES NOT TO TAKE THAT!" okay, tell me a 4th,5th, and 6th time dude, I'm the customer, why are you even taking so long to make a LATTE! I was so disappointed, he was so rude, and aggressive, I asked to cancel my order. And I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THERE AGAIN. NEVER!
google avatar

Z. X.

Yelp
Worst service. The server is very rude and unfriendly. Also, the coffee tastes like water. Do not recommend.
google avatar

Max H.

Yelp
I can't speak to the coffee as I haven't had I'd yet but I think their meal pal lunches are fantastic. Really good sandwiches with extremely high quality bread as well as out of this world vegan and avocado toast. Also the service has been derided in previous comments, so I'll just say that they've been nothing but pleasant to me and it seems like a great neighborhood spot. Consider me a fan.
google avatar

J K.

Yelp
Will be closed in a month. 10 minutes to put butter on a bagel. While I waited I sipped on my lukewarm flavorless coffee. Head here if you can take 3 hour coffee break and have no regard for your money.
google avatar

Amy T.

Yelp
The avocado toast and the latte I had were extremely delicious. The only issue I had was the freezing cold wind that I couldn't escape, because the place is very small.
google avatar

Sue C.

Yelp
Matcha latte tasted grainy and mainly consisted of milk in terms of taste. And very small inside- maybe 3 tables. But the interior is very nice and it's a cute shop to just stop by and take out.

Natassja W.

Yelp
0/5 Customer Service; employees were incredibly rude and acted annoyed to have to prepare something and I visited in the late afternoon when it wasn't busy 1/5 Coffee preparation: My draft latte was 90% foam and yes the flavor was good (la Colombe beans) but uhhh I didn't pay $5 for foam 4/5 Interior; Comfortable chairs and nice interior design for a small space, WiFi available Highly regret not walking around the corner to Little Collins

Raizy S.

Yelp
Beautiful store with amazing quality coffee and delicious pastries and sandwiches . My new spot I come here every day for a cappuccino and a delicious treat . Staff is also very friendly . Coffee is AMAZING!!!

Kenneth A.

Yelp
The crew there Sam, Mauricio, Darwin and Danny make the place great fun to visit. I work across the street at DWR, and my colleagues dig the place too.....our kitchen away from home. KA

Rita A.

Yelp
Dan Jones coffee was a great find. Their coffee and food are delicious and very fresh. Best avocado toast ever. I only wish the space was bigger and they had more tables.
