"Dancing House - Prague's stylishest building is also a hotel. Prague is absolutely one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Its abundant beauty is not only related to the variety of architecture styles (Gothic; Art- Nouveau and Baroque) but also to natural elements such as wild swans that gracefully float along the Vltava River at sunset. Wherever you step in; a restaurant, a bar, a pizzeria... no matter, you will feel embraced. Czech citizens speak Czech, German and English (especially the young crowd). Even though Prague 's touristic appeal brings thousands of tourists every year, it is a very affordable city and doesn't give off any feelings of greediness at its core. Food and fun are affordable here. One of the simplest and most exuberant things to do in Prague is walking along the Vltava River. Cross Charles Bridge, enjoy old town, check out the Astronomical clock and do not skip the "Dancing Building"! It's a masterpiece and a must see. If you love architecture, design, art, photography or even if you are just a visual person, you will have a great time when you see this building because it's just so cool! It's also easy to spot as it's located in Old Town and it's also a hotel. The building was designed by Croatian-Czech architect Vlado Milunić in cooperation with Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry (the same architect that designed Disney Opera Hall in Downtown Los Angeles ). The Dancing House was designed in 1992 and completed in 1996. The building design was controversial at the time because the house stands out among the Baroque, Gothic and Art Nouveau buildings for which Prague is famous. However, then-Czech president Václav Havel (who also lives nearby) gave all of his support hoping that the building would become a center of cultural activity. It turned out to be a great decision to support the project since designers, architects, artists, and enthusiasts from all around the world are drawn in flocks to see "Fred and Ginger", a nickname given by Gehry as the building resembles a pair of dancers. The nickname is not commonly used but refers to famous dancers Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. By Creative Travelers"

The hotel design is wonderful but there are defects to be aware of. There is no street stopping area so you need to stop in the bus lane to load and unload. On arrival the front door was blocked because a lady was preventing people from going up to the top floor where the restaurant and bar are. Check in was fine and the room was very spacious. However, the bathroom situation is very odd. While there is a glass door, privacy is via a curtain that covers the glass sliding door. Very odd. The bathtub is also the shower and it's impossible to set the shower wand in a place where water doesn't go all over the place. This should have been designed a little better. The bed was extremely comfortable. The first night an attempt to eat at the restaurant was blocked by three somewhat rude employees who said there was a private function. No problem but I called ahead and was directed to the top floor. Does not seem that the employees communicate well with each other. As a result it's difficult to give a 5 star review.

I had the pleasure of spending a few days in Prague and chose the Dancing House Hotel as my place to stay. It was an amazing experience. The room was spacious and clean, with a stunning view of the river and city, which looked especially beautiful at night. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always making me feel welcome. The breakfast was excellent, offering a great start to the day. The location is fantastic—close to all the main attractions in Prague. If you venture farther out, you can easily use tram station for convenient transportation, as the station is next to hotel. Overall, I had an incredible stay and will definitely return to the Dancing House Hotel the next time I visit Prague.

Everything has been fantastic. The rooms are stunning, stunning designs, stunning architecture. The deluxe room is out of this world with stunning view to the river. Nothing to complain except that communication between staff has to be more effective. I am a Travel Agent. They made a little mistake for having luck of communication. They sort me immediately but if I am sending clients I wouldn’t like them not to receive what I requested other than this fantastic.

Beautiful hotel.. quiet. The view was fantastic. The reception was helpful and friendly. We encountered out of all of the kind staff one unfriendly person at the security desk. We asked the name of the street in front of the hotel and her response was not kind..knowing she had to know. The bar drinks were good and friendly staff. Restaurant breakfast selection was excellent and the staff very nice. Great views. Only issue is controlling the air in your room- it’s centralized so we were warm for our personal liking and beds too firm for us. Bathroom beautiful but beware of trying to shower in an open tub with no enclosure.. really strange.. you get water everywhere and to wash your hair, my husband had to get on his knees.. really different. But overall all lovely stay.

We arrived in Prague at very early in the morning. We thought It was impossible to check-in at 6:00 a.m. even we were really exhausted after 23 hours flight. However the staff of front desk helped us to find another room which can check-in immediately. It was such an amazing Christmas gift! Thank you Dancing house!
