Where to Stay in Bangkok (Updated 2025)

"I stayed at this long-running Khao San Road institution with 24-hour reception and always-available rooms; the rooftop bar and pool get packed with travelers, facilities have been upgraded and rooms are cleaned often, and some rooms even include a fridge and hairdryer with great water pressure." - Matthew Kepnes

The 8 Best Hostels in Bangkok (Updated 2025)

"I view D&D Inn as a longstanding Khao San Road institution that's practical for last-minute arrivals — reception is open 24 hours and there are almost always rooms available. The place has a rooftop bar and pool that get packed with travelers, and recent upgrades mean rooms are cleaned often; some rooms include fridges and hairdryers, the water pressure is great, the beds are soft, and many rooms feature attractive wood furnishings and a rooftop patio for relaxing and socializing." - Matthew Kepnes

The 7 Best Hotels in Bangkok (Updated 2025)

"An institution on Khao San Road, this hotel is perfect for last-minute plans since there are almost always rooms and the reception is open 24 hours; the recently upgraded rooms are done in a modern Thai style with wooden interiors and tiled floors and include flatscreen TVs, air conditioning, a mini fridge, and en-suite bathrooms with great shower pressure (note not all rooms have windows). There’s a bar downstairs and a rooftop pool with its own bar that gets packed with travelers, breakfast is available across the street at the Greens and Cheese restaurant, and while it’s a great spot for a private room in the heart of Khao San Road, it’s not the quietest place because the street parties all night." - Matthew Kepnes

D&D Inn is right next to Khaosan Street, and we had a pleasant stay overall. The service wasn’t great — when we asked for room cleaning, they only made the bed and gave water, but the dust and floors were untouched. So service needs improvement. The rooms were fine, and even though Khaosan Street is noisy, once you’re inside, it’s not too loud. They also provide earplugs. We saw many reviews saying the rooms are very loud, but our room wasn’t like that. We could only hear the music very lightly, and it didn’t bother us. Maybe other rooms closer to the street had issues. Despite the noisy area, the stay was good. The place is always busy no matter what time you check in, and the staff were friendly. We would still recommend D&D Inn, and we might stay here again when we visit Bangkok. The service is bad, but manageable.

Premium location, but there’s a trick you should know if you’re looking to book here. They sell rooms at a cheap price and when you get there there are the worst rooms they have. No windows and just in front of the outside pubs. That’s not shown when you book. But they ‘nicely’ offer you an a room upgrade for double the price of the room if you want to be able to sleep or breathe through a window. It’d be fair if it’s clear from the booking web but you don’t know about it til you get the reception desk.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. The location is excellent if you enjoy nightlife and visiting temples. The rooms are not luxurious, but if you get an exterior view, they are acceptable; interior views are not recommended. The pool is small but pleasant, with nice views. The front desk is friendly, but I had serious problems: I booked a taxi to the airport in advance and paid the deposit, and when it was time to leave, they couldn’t find the reservation, forcing me to go outside and arrange a taxi myself. Additionally, the luggage storage is very insecure; anyone could access the bags without supervision. In summary, acceptable for the price, but don’t expect more.

Great place to enjoy Khao San road... The rooftop pool is amazing and the food at the pool bar surprisingly good. I've been staying there every time I've been in Bangkok and can recommend it, if you're looking for cheap but more than adequate accommodation in the middle of one of the most fun streets on the planet. I'd advise to get a room with a window and ask for one, that's not streetside, because there it will be quite loud!

We love this place! Staff are friendly and helpful. The pool is fabulous (spotlessly clean) . The hotel is in the area where everything is happening. We have stayed here 3 times over the years and will continue to come back! It is easy to reach the hotel and they have lifts to all the floors.

I’ve stayed at this hotel several times—it’s great value for what it offers. Located right on Khao San Road, it’s within walking distance to many restaurants, the Grand Palace, and Wat Pho. Even though it's on one of the loudest streets in Bangkok, the rooms are surprisingly quiet—trust me, you’ll get a great night’s sleep. The beds are comfortable, the shower is good, and the rooftop has a pool and a nice atmosphere to enjoy with your family.

It's loud in the night. If you enjoy a nightlife it's a good place to visit. Khao San can be overwhelming though, and if it's your first visit to Bangkok it can be either one of the best or worst experiences, depending on what you expect. The hotel itself is alright. There is a nice view on the roof, and you can enjoy the swimming pool too.

My 15-day stay was a disaster. For half of it, I couldn't sleep due to the noise from hotel renovations. It's ridiculous that they're open for business while renovating, and even more so that they're listing it on Agoda. When I arrived, they told me about the noise and offered to upgrade my room for an extra 1500 baht. But I decided to stick with my original booking. This was the worst experience I've ever had, and it's clear they don't care about their guests. What's worse, the staff tried to open our door twice while we were inside our room. The management must not have informed them that one of the rooms had guests.
