We stayed at the D&D Inn on Khao San Road as a family, and the experience was very mixed. Our family room faced directly onto the street, where nightclubs battle it out in a real war of decibels. It was impossible to sleep for two nights, even with earplugs.
The front desk staff showed little understanding of our difficulties. In the end, we had to switch to a triple room (even though there are four of us), which was smaller, with no discount, and we even had to pay an extra fee. The result: three people in one large bed and very little comfort.
Other negative points: no towel rack, no storage space in the room. It felt like the bare minimum of service, if not neglect.
I’m giving 3 stars, with one of them solely for the bartender on the 7th floor, who was very friendly and professional – a real ray of sunshine in an otherwise disappointing stay.
