D&D Inn Bangkok

How do I start describing this nightmare. I stayed at this hotel from Dec 28 to Jan 2 and had one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. On arrival, I was quoted 13,000 THB for 5 nights (far above the normal rate). The hotel refused card payment, so I paid cash. I was given a room with no windows, located in a very noisy area, making it impossible to sleep. The next morning, I requested to check out and receive a refund. The front desk staff member (a young desk manager) refused, shouted at me, and said I was not allowed to check out. He claimed the payment was non-refundable, although this was never disclosed before payment, and I was never given a receipt showing this condition. No one told me this before that it is non refundable. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told there was no one else, and the shouting continued. I was also insulted in Thai. Under pressure, I was told the only option was to pay an additional 7,000 THB to change rooms. Wanting to avoid losing all my money or being removed by security, I agreed. The second room was directly above a bar, with extreme noise until around 4 a.m. I requested to move again the following day, which resulted in additional charges. Only after three days was I finally moved to a quiet, acceptable room. At checkout, after a 5-night stay, I was charged 1,500 THB for only 2.5 hours of late checkout. The staff initially refused to return my deposit, shouting again and claiming I never paid one. The deposit was only returned after repeated insistence. In total, I paid approximately 22,000 THB in cash for 5 nights. Despite repeated requests, the hotel refused to provide a receipt or any written confirmation of the amount paid, saying it would be emailed to me. No receipt was ever sent. The main issue was not the room it was the hostile, aggressive, and coercive behavior of the front desk staff, especially being prevented from checking out, shouted at, and pressured into paying more money. Guests should never be treated this way. I strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

D&D Inn is right next to Khaosan Street, and we had a pleasant stay overall. The service wasn’t great — when we asked for room cleaning, they only made the bed and gave water, but the dust and floors were untouched. So service needs improvement. The rooms were fine, and even though Khaosan Street is noisy, once you’re inside, it’s not too loud. They also provide earplugs. We saw many reviews saying the rooms are very loud, but our room wasn’t like that. We could only hear the music very lightly, and it didn’t bother us. Maybe other rooms closer to the street had issues. Despite the noisy area, the stay was good. The place is always busy no matter what time you check in, and the staff were friendly. We would still recommend D&D Inn, and we might stay here again when we visit Bangkok. The service is bad, but manageable.

We requested for water and they asked for a charge We were fine with paying for the water; however, asking guests to come down every time instead of delivering it to the room reflects very poor customer service. In addition, my friend experienced continuous bed bug bites, which is completely unacceptable. The room was extremely noisy, making it difficult to rest. Furthermore, a staff member at reception was uncooperative, and the overall behavior of the staff was rude and, at times, discriminatory when even the slightest request was made. We had booked two rooms, both of which were very small and uncomfortable. Due to these issues, we will never consider staying at this hotel again and would strongly advise others to be cautious before booking

Stayed 8days even during new year eve! Room: 3/5 Pros: big enough, clean. Minus: only one socket, cant charge my tablet and phone at the same time. No electricity when you go out. No window, no day light! Old and decoration is depressing(dark green curtain, old tv etc.), smoking area inside of building and sometimes smelly corridors and elevator area Pool: 4/5 Pros: rooftop, bar, view, shower and wc Minus: no umbrella, not enough sunbed Location: 5/5 Service: 5/5

Pros: The hotel is in a fantastic central location, within walking distance of all the main attractions. Also, the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. ​Cons: Unfortunately, the room itself was a major disappointment. It was incredibly cramped, with barely enough space to move. Since there were no windows, the air felt very stuffy and the room felt claustrophobic. Furthermore, despite being a "central" spot, the street noise was loud and constant all night long, making it very difficult to sleep. ​Summary: Great for the location, but I wouldn't stay here again due to the lack of comfort and noise.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. The location is excellent if you enjoy nightlife and visiting temples. The rooms are not luxurious, but if you get an exterior view, they are acceptable; interior views are not recommended. The pool is small but pleasant, with nice views. The front desk is friendly, but I had serious problems: I booked a taxi to the airport in advance and paid the deposit, and when it was time to leave, they couldn’t find the reservation, forcing me to go outside and arrange a taxi myself. Additionally, the luggage storage is very insecure; anyone could access the bags without supervision. In summary, acceptable for the price, but don’t expect more.

Premium location, but there’s a trick you should know if you’re looking to book here. They sell rooms at a cheap price and when you get there there are the worst rooms they have. No windows and just in front of the outside pubs. That’s not shown when you book. But they ‘nicely’ offer you an a room upgrade for double the price of the room if you want to be able to sleep or breathe through a window. It’d be fair if it’s clear from the booking web but you don’t know about it til you get the reception desk.

Great place to enjoy Khao San road... The rooftop pool is amazing and the food at the pool bar surprisingly good. I've been staying there every time I've been in Bangkok and can recommend it, if you're looking for cheap but more than adequate accommodation in the middle of one of the most fun streets on the planet. I'd advise to get a room with a window and ask for one, that's not streetside, because there it will be quite loud!
