On first impression it is not very impressive. A simple automatic glass door, single elevator, small reception The standard room is small with a bed and a desk but no drawers to hold your clothes, shirts or socks. The bathroom though has a sauna, self warming toilet seat with bidet and rain shower plus body bath soap and shampoo dispensers. But what Dandy lacks in sophistication it more than makes up with excellent service. The staff is friendly and very responsive. They have a 24 hour snack bar with wonderful taiwanese snacks, cold and hot water, coffee maker in the lobby with comfotable sofas, great for a break after a long day of hiking and shopping.| The ref in the room provides bottled water and 2 small sodas and more snacks for free. And the buffet breakfast is simple but exquisite with different entrees daily in addition to the usual bread and salad bars They have two types of juices, fresh milk and soy milk too. The food is made from fresh and healthy ingredients, and if you have to miss this due to an early engagrment, the staff will happily prepare a take away pack of sandwiches and some fruit or tomato and a soy milk. The front desk can provide a lot of free items for use such as desk lamps, strollers, umbrellas, picnic mats, 110 volt adapters and chargers among other things. And they have free laundry machines abd driers 24 hours, including laundry soap.| The MRT daan park entrance is tight close to the hotel but it is a steep flight of stairs. This is exit 1 of daan park station. But you can use exit 2 which is across the street near daan park which has an elevator maybe a 3 minute walk. There is a 711 at the cirner, a Subway resto on the other side , a cat cafe on one end and a rabbit cafe on the other end There is a hotpot beyond 711 and some restaurants along xinsheng blvd a 5 minute walk from the hotel - a Japanese Daan Forest Shokudo, a Szechuan six chef restaurant, a MOS burger, Din Tai Fung Xinsheng branch. And it is a 20 minute walk or short ride to Yong Kang street with artsy souvenir stores and little delicious restaurants, or Dongmen station with many other restaurants. And of course visit Daan Park right across the street with a beautiful pond inhabitted by many species of birds and turtles. Oh yes and a well stocked pharmacy right across which also sells dermatological products.| I am so happy i found this little gem in busy Taipei. It felt like home but with service deluxe@
