I visited Denmark the first time. ||I had a great experience at the Dan hostel, probably one of the top on my list for solo travels. The administration is great and quite automated, staff is mostly helpful unless busy with the guests. all the staff are English speakers a bit plus there. ||I like that on the checkin day if you arrive early the storage locker has free service, bike rental is at a reasonable rate, Guest kitchen is so well equipped, storage system is well organised (however I hope there was some instruction somewhere about the kitchen system somewhere, I was told about the system by a fellow guest).||Self Laundry system is also very efficient. You pick fresh linen yourself on the checkin day, that ensures that you have a clean laundry. However there were only two machines accessible for guests and sometimes at night there was a waiting line.||In the rooms the bunk beds are wide and steps to top bunk slanted making it easier to access (I have been to hostels where steps were vertical and it was hard to get on) Rooms are spacious. ||There are souveniers at the reception to buy at a nominal rates, even umbrellas to rent. I must say they have kept everything around so thoughtfully.||The hostel is one of the tallest building in the area so a good landmark in itself. Also barely 10-15 mins walk to central station/ Tivoli garden, town hall, supermarkets. ||It's a good idea to share a map or guidelines for the guests after booking, a welcome message or something of how to reach the hostel by various transport. ||I may have preferred paying the hostel charges via cash. I had Danish currency and yet they insisted using card payment only. (May be they didn't want cash at the reception but it felt inconvenient since I carried a lot of cash to avoid card fees)

Great clean hotel with a view to die for. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because you have to make your own bed and there aren’t many amenities in the rooms. There is no TV, hairdryer, etc. Other than that, this hotel is very nice. The view is amazing on both sides and you get to enjoy a great sunset over the city on the city side, and a great water view on the river side. Beautiful hotel 👍

I did not enjoy my stay. When I first got to the room someone’s underwear was sitting right on the ground with other dirty clothes near the locker. There was no room on the shelves in the bathroom to put my belongings when I need to use the bathroom. I think that the hostel would benefit from signs such as “keep this room clean”, “take shoes off” and “do not leave your bathroom items in the bathroom”. Also there are hooks in the bathroom for the towel but no labels corresponding with beds. Therefore people could easily make mix up their shower towels. The trash in the bathroom was difficult to open and a real trash can with a lid would be much better- especially for women who need to place sanitary items in the bag. Also there was no hooks in room 1413 to hang stuff near the bed such as a towel etc. nor was there a shelf for a phone. The light at each bed was too bright and would benefit from a dimming switch or smaller more focused light rather than large and wide light. In addition, the room I was in did not separate the lockers and bathroom from the bunks. Thus, when people got in late it was very noisy with them opening doors and using the lockers. There could also be a sign about having lights off after 11pm or something and for people to be quiet with doors. There is a lot of room for improvement. I hope that you are able to incorporate some of this feedback to make peoples stay a bit better. Thanks!

One of the best hostels I have had in recent times. Better than hotel stays in many ways. With all the modern facilities you can't wish for more. Will stay here again on my next visit to the city. The location is ideal for sightseeing as everything is within walking distance.

My family and I (kids 9 and 11) stayed here for a few nights and had a great experience. The rooms were nice enough, and having a big communal kitchen was as perfect. The location was fantastic and the staff were very helpful. It wasn’t exactly cheap, but it was definitely cheaper than other options that were in the same geographic area. It was great to be able to walk everywhere. We were on the 15th floor and had a great view of Tivoli Gardens. On Fridays during the summer there is live music at Tivoli which is easily heard if you’re staying on that side of the building. It probably finished around 23:00 or so. Didn’t really bother us, but if you’re looking for better sleep on Fridays, maybe request a room on the water side of the hostel.

Pretty great experience! We brought a big group for a study abroad program and had a time slot for breakfast - there was one worker who was pretty rude about us staying a couple minutes after our slot to finish eating (due to long lines because they booked all groups for breakfast at the same time). Other than that, great place 🤙🤙🤙🫵🫵🫵🫵🫵🫵🫵

Google
the bathroom has the lights on a timer so for example in the middle of showering they just turn off, not ideal. also the room and floor system is quite confusing. you cannot take your own food up to the room, which to some level is understandable but your other options are the weird room in the basement or the lobby

We stayed for two nights at Danhostel Copenhagen, and unfortunately, our overall experience was quite disappointing. While we were aware that it is a hostel, we booked a private family room and paid almost as much as a hotel rate—so we expected a bit more comfort and service. However, it felt more like staying in a student dormitory than a family-friendly place. You are expected to carry your own bedding, put it on yourself, and return it at checkout. Even basic amenities such as using an iron come with an extra charge, and there are many small but frustrating fees. The rooms are outdated and give off a slightly dirty and stuffy feeling, which made us uncomfortable. The lobby area was extremely crowded, likely due to student or school groups, and it was not possible to relax there at any point during our stay. Some of the staff were polite, but others seemed indifferent or even a bit condescending when we asked questions. To sum up: this hostel might be a good option for young backpackers or student groups, but I would not recommend it to families, especially those traveling with young children.

Yelp
This is the perfect place to stay when traveling with family. Our most recent stay/last visit was December 2017. Rooms are exactly as pictured, very clean layout and bathroom is simple yet modern. We always book the standard family room. Online reservation system is very easy to use. During each visit, staff has been attentive and polite. Check-in was easy and upon check-out, linens must be returned/dropped off in the lobby. I highly recommend this hotel due to overall experience and location. You cannot get a better deal elsewhere and it's not your typical hostel.

Yelp
Copenhagen isn't cheap so finding options for lodging isn't the easiest sometimes. Danhostel was a great choice for our family. Family rooms at hostels have worked for us more often than not. I'm too light of a sleeper to share a dorm style room but the family rooms for three of us work out perfectly. We stayed here two nights and everything was fine. It was easy to check in and out as well as this is a great location in the city. It's an easy walk from the central station and public transport works were here to get you where you're going. You can also store your luggage here as well as rent bikes making it an even easier choice. It really is all about location here. It's close to Tivoli Station, close enough to see the fireworks even from the higher rooms. It's easy to get to the museum island and since it's such a bike-friendly city it's easy to get anywhere. Our room and bathroom were clean and we had no issue with our stay. We'd stay here again easily!

Yelp
Copenhagen is a very expensive city. Budget travelers like me resorted in staying at hostels and even hostels are relatively expensive compared to the general hostels elsewhere. On our travel this time, I booked a double room with ensuite bathroom for hubby and I to stay in. We booked via hotels.com ahead of time but you can also book via their website, for a good rate if you choose nonrefundable option. Checking in was fast and efficient, they didn't ask us to pay for the linens, it looks like it's now free, you still have to make your own bed though and no housekeeping, they only empty the trash in the room daily. As we entered the room, there is the bathroom on one side of the wall and 4 lockers (you have to bring your own lock). We use the lockers to keep some clothes but just locked our suitcases with valuables. There are 4 beds in our room, 2 twin size bed that's pushed together forming a larger bed and 1 bunk bed (2 beds), a small table and two chairs. There are plenty of plugs for your electronics but if you should bring your own adapters if you're not from Europe and your stuff has differed type of plugs shapes. There is NO A/C in the room but the window can be opened and there is no screen but thankfully we didn't see insects coming in to the room during our stay. Pur room was on the 5th floor, facing the water. We could hear traffic from our room but thankfully we're not light sleepers. Getting a room facing the back alley might be quieter. You can rent hairdryer (you pay 100 kroner and they return 80 kroner when you return at the end of your stay) and adapters from the front desk and there is a guest kitchen with utentsils and everything you need to cook a meal (you need to buy your own grocery and spices). The coffee maker, hot water boiler and microwave didn't look clean though.... There is also a laundry room. To access these area, you'll need to borrow an access card from the front desk. Overall, it was a nice stay. You can take bus 5c to and from the airport to reach the hostel and it's a couple minutes walk to the hostel. Bus 5c also tales you to places in the town, very convenient. You can easily walk to Tivoli, the city hall (rashudpladssen?!), glyptoketet, and stroget (shopping street) about 10-15 minutes. Our room was clean..the only thing to note is that the shower door does not seal, so water will splash to the sink area so basically it is a "wet bathroom" which seems to be the typical thing in Europe. Bring your own toiletries and your own wash rag and towel (if you want bigger fluffy ones). It was fairly quiet but a school group arrived on our 2nd night and the kids would be banging on each other door all night long and we were too lazy to go downstairs to complain.

Yelp
Stayed for a week here. The rooms are clean and they clean the bathroom often. It is noisy from the busy road outside of the window. The food was good at the restaurant downstairs. They supply you with a towel and bed spread. Stayed in a 8 bedroom shared and had no problem with space or roommates. Very busy place. Thanks.

Yelp
I stayed at this hostel for two nights with a large group, and I thought this hostel was definitely one of the best I stayed in Europe. I stayed in an eight person bedroom that had its own bathroom inside. What I liked about this place was the location. The central station and Tivoli Gardens is a few minutes walk away and you could reach the city hall in less than 10 minutes. There's also a bridge nearby this place where you could get a nice view of the canal. You can walk to a lot of places in less than 30 minutes such as Nyhavn, the Christiansborg Palace, and even Christiania. The bathroom was very clean, and I liked the fact that the room had its own bathroom. The room is not very spacious when you are sharing with seven other travelers, so you should be careful with your luggage. The beds were fairly comfortable. Wi-fi was more reliable in the lounge than in the actual room. I also enjoyed the nice view from the windows of this hostel, so it was almost like staying in a basic hotel. One major thing I did not like about this hostel is the fact that they charge you for certain things. Charging for linen and towel rental is ok if you want extra comfort but charging 5 DKK for a glass of water from the bar is a little too excessive. Overall, I would recommend this hostel if you are a first time visitor to Copenhagen because of its central location.

Yelp
Remember that you have to rent your own sheets. Nice location. I had a single ensuite but if I'd been sharing I would have been dismayed at the infrequent and cursory maid service. Advice from the reception desk was accurate and polite regardless of whom I asked. The vending machines in the lobby were nice. The restaurant ignored and barely inhabited. I didn't look at the basement laundry or kitchen. There were many families in addition to the typical global backpacking types.

Yelp
As good as it gets. I have nothing to complain about as its price is the only place I can afford in Copenhagen. I have been staying here for 2 nights in private room (4 beds) better than paying twice in other hotels in the area. By the way, it's located near Tivoli and 10 mins walk from the prime area. 4 stars for cleanliness and 5 stars for services of staffs at concierge.

Yelp
I was afraid to stay in hostels after a bad experience in Paris. But I am on a budget so I took my chances. So happy I stayed here!! Clean rooms and they actually wash the bed sheets! Thank you danhostel for changing my perception on hostels in general. You just need to do your research for the good ones. Cheap beer at the reception. And fun people staying there. The kitchen was clean!!! Made dinner with the roomies..would definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
Not the worst, not the best. I do not recommend the breakfast buffet--unless you like open-faced sandwiches... our room was very basic. A BIG plus is that it is in a great location.
