Danhostel Givskud Zoo

Clean, well located, good service. It is a youth hostel so beds are not the most comfortable and you have to put on the sheets yourself. Free use of the kitchen, wifi, parking.

Excellent value for the money, very clean, light room, spacious, very well equipped kitchen with everything one would imagine needed for preparing your own meal, three huge activity rooms for kids. The zoo is over the street, discount applies for guests of the hostel, one day ticket can be used during three days, so a great option to combine with Billund Lego visit with kids.

We really enjoyed the super friendly staff, great food and easy public transport link to this hostel. We were a group of nearly 20 and this hostel was ideal. We enjoyed the fab zoo being so close and travel to the train station was easy with the bus stops being so near too. The rooms were a good size and sheets and towels provided were good. ||We also enjoyed the outdoor space for playing and having some relaxing time, and the play areas inside were also much enjoyed. Food was really ideal for|Children and adults and especially the pancakes and Spag Bol on the last night. ||It was a good location from which to travel to Legoland and of course to the Zoo. Of course the on site shop was also great, particularly for ice creams! ||Thanks so much for a great stay and perhaps we will see you again.

Rooms are very basic and could be more insects free. But other than that for hostel good spot, nice Staff, fully equipped kitchen

Myself, a friend & our two 6 yr olds visited in September 2017 (the date below doesnt go down to 2017 so ive put the lowest at feb 2018) ||We were staying in the hotel at the airport & caught the bus direct there. ||We did the safari around the park, saw the lions lazing after eating meat the day before. |We loved walking through the monkey area, & the gorilla had had her baby (which must be 1 & half years old now) .||We ate lovely food at thier restaurant, saw amazing animals, lots of clean large areas. Well looked after. Elephants were my friends favourite, & i just loved everything about the whole place. ||We did go back to Billund in 2018 but the few days we were there the zoo was closed so we didnt manage a second visit. We are planning to visit again this year .|

This hostel is very good. The room was spotless on arrival, and the beds are comfortable. The personnel are friendly and helpful, they go above what you'd expect at any other hostel. The room has 4 beds and a bathroom which is exclusively for that room. The only downside is that sleeping bags aren't allowed, but linen og towel can be rented for a nominal fee.

This hostel is in a great location for Givskud Zoo (across the street) and Legoland (20 minutes drive). They have a lot of things to entertain kids and ensuite family rooms which were nice when traveling as a family. Our kids enjoyed the cute animal-themed decorations on the doors and in the rooms. During our stay, it was quite hot so the lack of ventilation made it uncomfortable to sleep. We were not able to leave the window open because a hoard of ants came in. The main area where I would recommend improvement is the cleanliness of the common areas, especially the kitchen. Although people clean up their dishes, the kitchen still needs to be cleaned on the floors and counters. Similarly, when checking out guests clean the bathrooms but not to a very high standard and it did not appear additional cleaning was done.

Danhostel Givskud Zoo is only 20 minutes from Legoland Billund so location is perfect if you are going to Legoland by car and dont want to spend so much on the hotel/hostel. Prices are great, but keep in mind it is a hostel. We had our own bedsheets and made our brekfast ourselves, and everything was ok. A bit noicy in the evenings with children running around and screaming, but luckily they fell a sleep later on.||||Big kitchen where to cook dinner /breakfast, and also possibility to grill outside, some playrooms for the children were also available.||||Room size was good, toilet with shower good, everyhing you can ask for from a hostel.||Big parking was big plus.||||No aircondition and poor ventilation, so in the summer it will be very hot in the room.
