Unjustified and Inhumane Treatment – Avoid This Hostel I rarely write reviews, but this experience was too outrageous not to share. Our group of around 70 college students stayed at this hostel, and due to three students allegedly not cleaning up properly, the hostel decided to throw away thousands of dollars’ worth of groceries—food meant to feed all 70 of us. As if that wasn’t enough, they removed all kitchenware: pots, pans, utensils, cups, bowls, plates—everything. That left dozens of students with no way to prepare a meal for themselves. Their reasoning? Because three people were messy. There was zero compassion, zero communication, and zero accountability. College students often travel on tight budgets and rely on preparing their own meals. Forcing students to eat out in one of the most expensive countries in Europe because of the actions of a few is not only unfair—it’s unethical. If you’re a large group or value fairness, empathy, and basic decency, do not stay here. If you’re okay with collective punishment and moral disregard, then maybe this place is for you. This hostel’s response to a minor issue was not just disproportionate—it was downright hostile.

If I could give less than one star, I absolutely would. The experience was beyond terrible. The rooms were poorly maintained, the beds were dirty, and the overall cleanliness left much to be desired. The community kitchen was shockingly bad -completely empty and unusable. When I asked for a kettle to make coffee, I was told to go to a restaurant if I wanted hot water. This level of service is unacceptable. I strongly urge others to avoid this place at all costs.

Clean and comfortable. They have a washing machine and dryer for 40Dkr each (expensive!). No shampoo provided. Right next to Viking museum. Not a ton to do in Roskilde but it is a nice town and a little less expensive than Copenhagen. About a 25 min walk from train station. Breakfast I’d 95DKr but is quiet good with lots of options and the will provide gf rolls on request. Nice staff.

Good value for money. Room was tidy & clean. Friendly reception. Location nice close to water and the Viking ship museum. Above standard hostel breakfast, quite enough to start a long day travelling.

Really beautiful location and is right next to the Viking boat museum and where the ship builders work. The rooms are a good size but with no fan and no a/c the rooms can get hot. The art on the walls was a nice touch as each room and each walk is unique. Watch out as there isn't always enough parking so be prepared to wait for a spot. The view out onto the bay is amazing.

Situated right by the harbour and next door to the Viking museum. New buildings with clean rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Kitchen facilities perfect for cooking a meal. Breakfast can be bought. Nicely decorated with painted walls. Perfect location with a ten minuted walk into centre of town through the city gardens. Lovely walks nearby. Free parking. Great wifi.

I actually haven’t stayed at a hostel before. Had to make my bed as expected. But room was far nicer than I had anticipated, roomy, desk and chair, shower worked well and it was warm. Security was great with a key required for room and the building. The room was larger than a recent Ibis Hotel stay, check in and breakfast Staff were great. I’d recommend.
