$8 for two small drip coffees, 1 of them black. Absolute worst service experience I’ve had in my 12 years living in Toronto, and it makes me sad that this the service given in a place like Union Station - the first stop for many people when they arrive in Toronto/Canada. The people here are way better than that, and guests deserve better service and fair transparent pricing. They were so rude to us throughout the whole interaction. When asked how two small coffees that are supposed to be $2.60 each came out to $8.20 for just adding a splash of almond milk and 1 sugar, all the man said was “it’s not me who charges, they charge” (even though he punched in the order) and brushed us off.

So bad OMG OMG It looks gorgeous so I sent my husband this morning. But the bread was terrible. So stiff. It is like old . I can't chew if I am old. The bread ruined our breakfast.

Great service with a smile and lots of pastries and beverages to choose from. We ordered 4 different ones for $18 and it came in a box which was great for bringing over to friend’s for sharing. The croissant was a bit dry though so taste-wise, it could use some improvement. Conveniently located in Union Station middle level (one floor below ground level. No seating within the store. Tip: if you’re ordering multiple baked goods, take a photo of the ones you want as the baked goods are at the front but the cashier is near the back of the store and you can’t get the baked goods by yourself.

The baked items always look good overflowing in the display case, but unfortunately their croissants aren't really close to the best I have. I ordered the Smorhor Butterhorn Plain a couple times hoping it would be as good as it looks, but I guess my expectations for Toronto croissants are too high. It's still a convenient stop inside of Union to grab something on the way to work, and prices are reasonable. The line moves very fast for ordering though so be ready with your order! They also have coffee if you are tired after an early commute downtown.

There is a line to get into the store to get a pastry. The pastry is good but it is quite a stressed process to buy it.

It’s quite good, but $5 for one pastry is a lot I think. Maybe I am still getting post Covid sticker shock but it seems high though this is in Union Station which everything is overpriced to me. I did enjoy it and next time in TO I might go again but daily it’s not possible.

Hi there. I'd like to share my recent experience at Danish Pastry house at union Station. Fresh pastry, delicious sandwiches 🥪 and yummy drinks, but what stands out is the fenomenal and above and beyond service. The guy with the curly hair and a hat, is a truly gem and very professional when it comes to customer guaranteed satisfaction. He went out of his way to accommodate our allergies and was so kind and patient with my parents. Sometimes is not always about the products is about the service and the person who sells your product. If one day I'll open a bakery, he will be the first one to get hired. Thank you so much, You made my day!

You really can't go wrong with a chocolate croissant! It was nice and buttery and had a good amount of chocolate! For around $3.50 it was worth it! If you ever feel like you need something quick, tasty, and budget friendly at union station, stop by here! It is smaller in size compared to its other locations, but a good place for on the go! Plus the staff were friendly as well!

The PATH in Toronto is huge. It's a super large underground shopping area, connecting several office buildings and a train station. This is one of the many food options. The window looks amazing. I tried the Cremeboller, a pastry with hints of almond, croissant like dough, filled with custard and chocolate. It was very nice, but I would have liked a bit more custard and chocolate. The cappuccino was very good.

Very busy location for this chain. The quality is consistent with other locations. I like the jam filled heart cookies and the cinnamon rolls! Viking slice is ok too Unfortunately I haven't seen them have end of day deals like other locations.

This is a fabulous bakery chain, especially if you love European pastries. I love their Hoj Snegl as well as their Greta Garbo cookies but one of my faves is their Noddemazarin pastry (almond triangle covered with sliced almonds and with chocolate around). A heavenly slice to be sure. This time I also got a piece of Gateau Marcel for my hubby as well (chocolate mousse on a crust with cocoa dusting). Both were excellent. Always wonderful pastries in this location. Located 1 level below ground in Union Station. This store has no seating facilities. Take out only.

Checked out this place randomly. They have wonderful pastries and so much variety. I love their almond croissants and danishes. So good! And to go with their coffee. Service is very quick and helpful. Ambiance is great.

I had to pick up family member who were visiting from out of town by train and realized that I forgot to prepare dessert. Then I saw Danish Pastey where it was conviniently located near Via Rail station. Problem solved! Flødebolle($3.50)- Chocolate puff filled with whipped meringue and coated in Belgian chocolate on a shortcrust base looked very fancy to serve as a dessert. Mazarin Cups Hindbaer & Blabaer (Raspberry& blueberry)($3.75)- Shortcrust mini tart with almond cake filling and raspberries. These tarts were perfect bite size mini for who don't have a room for dessert.

This Danish Pastry House is located within Toronto Union Station and was an easy walk from the Via Rail Business Lounge where Gayle and I were waiting for our train. Add a delicious multi-layer and fruit filled cookie from here and coffee at the Lounge, and what resulted was a tasty combination that avoided a nearby Tim's line and their so-so coffee. Gayle and I shared the cookie and gobbled it up with due haste. The only reason I won't award 5 Stars here is that my selection was only the tip of the iceberg compared to some really impressive "window candy" Pastry selections. I need to return several times for a statistically valid sample.

Quality of baked goods. The pastries are loaded with lard and the pastries are not fresh, the filo pastry is not flaky and fresh but old and damp. The chocolate they use in some of their pastries taste more like sugar with not a hint of chocolate flavour. It's like brown coloured sugar. I tried it once and I would not recommend it to anyone with discerning and discriminating taste.

I have been curious about this bakery every time I use the train for my commute. This bakery is on the promenade from Union GO to TTC Union subway station. I have been attracted by their products on a window display, and by the people inside happily selecting items. Often, there are also people in front of the window display enchantedly staring at their pastries - I have been one of them :). Recently, I had a slow morning, and finally got a chance to go into the shop. I tried, - plain croissant - ham & Havarti croissant - sourdough light rye bread The plain croissant was light, flaky, and had a good amount of butter flavor. Very tasty! But the ham and Havarti croissant was a bit greasy. The cheese released a lot of oil, which overwhelmed the subtle & delicate croissant flavors. The most impressive one was the Sourdough light rye bread! The tangy, moist dough had a rich rye flavor, surrounded by a nice cruncy crust. It came with a plastic bag to keep it fresh at home. I will come again in the morning for the plain croissant to enjoy a light morning snack in the office, and also in the evening - to take my family dinner to the next level with this sourdough bread!

Every time I come through Toronto Union Station, I have wanted to check out this bakery. Last time was during COVID restrictions and they were only allowing people one at a time so the line was a bit long. This time I made a point of checking it out. The pastries were flaky and light. I particularly liked their savory pastries like their ham and Gouda danish. Yum!

My manager has bought a few things for the office a couple of times so I've tried a couple cookies before. I don't have a sweet tooth so I found the cookies too sweet for me. I'm sure for other people it'll be the right sweetness. After passing by numerous times a purchase felt necessary. I purchased a Høj Snegl med Crème (High Snail with Custard). It's similar to a cinnamon roll but with flaky pastry and custard in the centre with a drizzle of chocolate on top. There was a hint of cinnamon but not quite enough for my tastes.

I was on a business trip in Canada, and needed to take a walk. Found this place on yelp, and got walking over! I got their CROSSAINT type pastries, CINNAMIN BUN, and also the JELLY COOKIES to share with colleagues. This place is so cute, very dangerous for carbs, and I love it. ENJOY! This bakery came highly recommended by one of my Canadian coworkers. I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, I didn't really have a good experience in here. After passing by the shop countless times at Union Station, I was finally able to visit last Thursday morning at about 8:30 am. There were 3 people working and maybe one or two customers in line. I was looking at all the beautiful pastries and wasn't familiar with any of them, so it was difficult to choose. Two of the workers were behind the counter helping customers, while one was just hanging out in the middle of the shop, so I asked her what she would recommend. She didn't answer me, so I kind of wondered if she spoke English. So then I pointed to an Aeblestang, since it sounded good, and most of them were gone, so it must be popular. There was only one giant piece left that was broken, but I didn't mind. Then she took it out and removed the sign, saying they were all out. I thought she was going to bag it for me, so I stood there waiting for a bit before I realized that she had put it in the back and wasn't going to give it to me. So confusing. I had to ask her if I could buy it, and she said no, so then she said if I liked almond, there was an almond and cream pastry in the window at the front of the store. So I went to look at said ok, I'll take it. But then she got distracted by someone who was standing outside the store and started joking with the staff behind the counter, COMPLETELY IGNORING ME, while I stood there waiting for her to get my pastry. They had an entire conversation, laughing and joking while I waited. Terrible customer service. There were no other customers in the store at that time. Then another customer walked in the store and went to the counter, and I heard them ask what pastries were good, and the guy behind the counter started explaining all the popular items. At that point, then the girl that was supposed to help me got my pastry and bagged it. The pastry was light and flaky and tasted fine, a bit on the airy side and not very substantial, if you like that type of pastry. But my service experience was terrible. The service in every other place I've been to in Toronto has been impeccable, so this place really stood out as a really bad one. To the point that I never want to come back here again, and I'm not going to recommend this place to anyone else anymore.

I have to this location awhile ago. I gotten a Raspberry Sandaur which was delicious. It is a small location in Union Station with a variety that is smaller than the location in the Eton Center. The service is pretty fast though the location seemed to have a lot of people wanting to get their pastries.

We were passing this pastry shop when the baked goods display caught our attention and we HAD to go in and try a few (or more than a few). There is so much variety and they a 50% off day-old bread section as well. We bought about 6 different kinds of pastries including marzipan pastry filled with crushed nuts, chocolate croissant, almond biscuit, almond custard filling, and almond croissant. We paid just under $15 for everything. Most of their pastries have nuts in them. The sweetness is good, not overpowering. The price range from $2.50 and up. The pastries are fresh and the service was excellent.

WOW came here and got the drommekage as pictured - "Vanilla cake with caramelized coconut topping." Was super delicious and a great group snack for $12. Easy to cut up and eat and super fresh as well. will definitely come back to try some of their other pastries and maybe bread!

I honestly didn't expect much, passing through this location in the train station on the way from the airport, but these are by far the best Danish pastries I have tasted outside of Europe!! The quality is excellent. I am salivating as I am writing this review, thinking of how beautifully buttery, flavorful, and soft these pastries are. I hope to be able to stop by next time I'm in Toronto.

My boyfriend came over on the night of Valentine's day and even though I believed that he and I agreed we were NOT getting each other anything, he still showed up with something in his hands. He had purchased a cake and some cookies (not pictured in this review) to bring over. The cake was a chocolate cake of a roll shape, with vanilla icing inside. I can only describe this cake to be a mound of sugar that was disguised as a cake. The appearance of the cake was very appealing but upon having a bite of it, I realized I had already ingested my sugar intake for the week. I believe that my boyfriend was mislead by the people working there as he asked them what they would recommend, and their recommendation was this cake.... On the other hand, the heart shaped cookies were pretty good! I believe there was raspberry jam in the middle of them, which is my favorite kind of jam! The only thing I would change is that I believe there was also some form of icing that topped the cookie. Much like the icing in the cake, the icing on the cookie was packed with sugar. It's quite possible that maybe sweets are just not for me, or at least the sweets from this establishment, in specific, are not for me. I'd give this place a try if I were physically in the area so I could see what else they have to offer! I'm sure if they had a savory selection, that it too, would look phenomenal. If you have more than one sweet tooth, maybe a full set of sweet teeth, I'd highly recommend coming here! :D

I have to say the quality of the pastries have gone down. Is it because of post pandemic? Is it because of increase in costs? The Viking slice use to have more chocolate and the filling was abundant. Now it's just this huge dry pastry. Even the little croissants with filling, there was hardly any. Just disappointed.

This shop is small and almost always lined up out the door but the staff are friendly and efficient and get the line moving fast. Personally I recommend the chocolate and custard butter horns which are undoubtedly the best chocolate croissants I've ever had. Plus they are always a huge hit at the office. I also grabbed the mini heart hindbaersnitter cookies which were so cute. While I prefer the croissants, these were also flavorful, soft and delicious. They were also enjoyed by my colleagues.

Glad to have this place open for delivery during the Covid pandemic. Decided to try it out as I needed an assortment of pastries and wanted to try a new place. Seemed a little pricey at first but tasted pretty good in the end. Lots of unique options here, which by the sounds of it are fairly close to the authentic thing as well. Glad I gave it a shot

I have been to the Front Street and Eaton Center one for a couple of times. The front sweet location is awesome as there is free sampling! I got the chocolate log (my usual) and some apple danish. Both are good. I like the chocolate log even it were with icing sugar as it was not too much icing (once you know how to make icing and you are over 18 years old, you will mentally avoid any food with icing). I always get the chocolate log when I have a bad day and was more like "hit me with the best you've got). The apple danish, which I tired the first time, is also good. Only complaints were it is toooooo small! I will return, though give me some time to work out the 3 crossiant I've consumed today!

I have no will power when it comes to pastry from The Danish Pastry House. I am lucky I am not working downtown or pass by Union Station everyday. I can imagine myself eating at least one of their pastries everyday. They are just as good or even better than the pastry I had from Copenhagen. I did get 3 last time I visited and they were just so good and I ate them with no regrets. Flaky, buttery and light! I do prefer the less sweetened ones but they have so many different varieties to choose from. Perfect treats to go with coffee. And they have their own Kontra Kofee from Denmark now in this location.

First opening day of the new location at Union Station. Friendly staff waspassing out sample to try and the owner welcomed us warmly and chatted with us. This location is so convenient for the GO train riders. Pastries are fresh and the Aeble Fiske is very flaky and fills with fresh apple filling. This location also serves coffee too.

This place is located inside the Union station not too far from the Via Rail in the concourse level. I must say that any of their pastries just tastes amazing.. since I work close to Union - I go there often and snack on their pastries and try something different everytime. The customer service is excellent.. they help you in case you don't understand the names and explain the ingredients too in case you are lost. Always busy but then there is a reason why this place is packed :)

Breakfast. We're tourists, not commuters, but still it's handy to have such a great place right at the station. We ordered a variety, and everyone was very happy. I ate something with almond paste and poppy seeds, and I was surprised. It wasn't heavy or greasy, or even too sweet. Pastry is usually dessert for breakfast, but here it didn't weigh me down like a brick as we walked all over the islands immediately following. Prices are reasonable and service was prompt and very friendly. The coffee was even great!

If you want to explore new vehicles for tasty desserts, this is the the place for you. Conveniently located on your way home, inside union station, there are no reasons to not come here. Firstly it smells fantastic, and second there's more tasty desserts than you can count. It's all take out here but who cares? It probably won't last the trip home anyway. The rum balls are my favorite, but there's plenty more tastiness to explore here. Prices are fair and service is quick. Stop reading this and go already.

Only had the almond pastry but it was delicious. It had a flaky and light crust. Smooth chocolate on the outside and lovely almond inside. Great selection.

I stopped by the Eaton Centre location on a weekend afternoon and made a stop to the Danish Pastry House This location carries many variety of pastries and some cakes as this location is much bigger than the Union Station location that was close to home. I picked up the aeble fisk (think apple pastry) to go as their seats were all taken that day. They have a few small round tables but because it's weekend, it's usually a full house in there. I enjoyed the aeble fisk, but I definitely wish I got it fresh out of the oven. I'm not sure if they bake it in house, but if they do, I definitely need to go earlier next time. I had other pastries from them before and some are definitely sweeter than others. What I like about this location is they give out samples from time to time so you can definitely try it out before purchasing an entire piece.

This cute little pastry shop and bakery near Union Station is a gem. We found it as we were exploring Toronto's underground PATH system. I got the Chocolate Roulade and it was just wonderful. Moist, flavorful, with a nice cream filling. The store had a few tasting bites as well and everything was also of very good quality and very well made. Check it out next time you are in the area. Lots of choices of pastries !

Came by right after work to pick up bread from this place. I gotta say the bread is amazing from the looks of it. The Farmers bread tasted amazing as there's nothing that can beat fresh bread. The bread is aromatic and got a nice bite to it. Service was good even though there was a line up. The store is small and can get cramped with the line up. I noticed other customers are more for the pastries as this place is more known for. One of the better bakeries around Union station.

I've been to Danish Pastry House a few times now and never really know what to order. On my first visit, I ordered a viking slice. It looked pretty good, but I found the chocolate frosting too sugary. I was expecting a more denser chocolate-like flavor, similar to what you'd get from a chocolate croissant. However, it was more like a sheet of sugar that melts in your mouth. That ruined it for me, but I was willing to give Danish Pastry House another try. On my next visit, I ordered an aebelfiske. It's a flaky pastry with a center with slices of apple and dusted with confectioner's sugar. I really enjoyed this one much more because it was sweet, but not too sugary.

I went to the Danish Pastry House store for some croissants. They are located in Union station among all the new trendy stores that are opening up. The store is very small and filled with pastries. The service was not friendly since the staff can be very impatient. I bought a chocolate croissant and an almond croissant. They were both delicious and taste great. Would I go back? Probably as the food is very good.

Haven't had Danish pastries that good since biking to the local bakery in Copenhagen. The coffee is really good also.

I don't get what the big deal is. My friend passes by here on weekdays and she tells me that there's always a long line. Because of her observation, I was intrigued and curious to see what the hype was about. I was at a basketball game on a Sunday so I picked up a few pastries on the way home. At around two o'clock, there were 2, 3 other patrons besides myself. The pastries are reasonably priced, but I can think of a number of other bakeries in the city that have more delicious treats. If I'm offered something from the Danish Pastry House, I won't reject it. Will I go out of my way to pick up treats? Probably not. Good for: pastries

I was a regular customer before at this location. I used to buy their pastries many times. However, today I was silly because I couldn't remember if the assorted croissants didn't include ham & cheese one. I didn't come here for a few months. I asked the staff before choosing the assorted croissants but I wasn't clear I guess. I should have asked her for $22 for the assorted croissants! I asked her again while she was giving me the changes but she didn't get it why I asked her. Lesson learned! Also lost my $20 bill I put it in my coat while I was walking there :( My morning isn't going well!

Tucked in the basement of Union station (where the giant clock is) lies this delicious pastry shop. I believe this place to be a hidden place as I was lost trying to find my girlfriend based on where google map was taking me. Anyhow, based on the window display I was shocked at the wide selections of pastries that they offered. After tasting a few, I'm baffled at the fact that there wasn't a massive lineup! All of the pastries were fresh, crispy, flakey and filled with a robust buttery aroma. If you ever stop by union station, definitely drop by and grab and few! Since the items were not in English, it's hard to recall what was what but the cinnamon rolls were amazing.

It's not usual I arrive at the train station early enough to walk around, but am I glad I did! I went in this cozy bakery and ordered the chocolate croissant that summoned me from the window. It was fluffy, flakey, chocolately, and heavenly. You gotta try it!

I was in my way to catch the GO Train today and disappointed Pilot Coffee was not open. However, Danish Pastry is and I needed a quick pick me up coffee in the mid day. Walked in and asked the lady at the counter and she said yes, they do serve coffee. Looks like it's one of the only place that seems to be open in the Union terminal besides the Newspaper convenience kiosk. Anyway, she made me a kick ass best Flat white!!! Thank you and the cleaner patiently waited outside for me to leave the store, before he came in the lady at the counter sanitized and wiped down everything after I've left. I'm not a big fan of the Danish pastries cause I always think it was abit too sweet for my liking, but the flat white coffee I tasted today, was really good and I'd go grab one from here. I'll check in next time again in ordering a flat white for consistency check ...maybe it's the barista who made it really well to my liking today. Who knows.

after hearing so many good thing about this bakery, I finally get my self some thing from here. I had Chokolade Roulade $3.75, chocolate croissant $3.50 and a Rum ball $1.25. absolutely love the fresh flaky aromatic croissant and the chololade roulade, just the right level of sweetness and flavour. I am not a huge fan of the rum chocolate, b'c you really can taste the RUM flavor in there, a little too much for me. Silly me, it's a rum ball. In general, I will visit again as everything in the store look so delicious.

Yuuuuuuum!!! So glad we stumbled on this little pastry shop while walking around union station. Surprisingly there was no line at the time - it was a quiet day. We got the Ablefisk - this delightful apple and custard pastry that was delicious and only $2.50!!! I wish we got 5 of them. We also bought a cinnamon swirl loaf of sweetbread (can't remember the name at all) which was also delicious, super flavourful and very affordable ($6?). Could barely keep my hands off of it. I absolutely can't wait to come back and try everything here.

I keep passing by the Danish Pastry House located inside Union station but didn't go in. My colleagues bought a box of chocolate croissants from there and it was amazing. Today I decided to pop in and grab a chocolate danish with custard inside. Omg it was amazing!! Savoury and crispy. Very fresh and tasty. I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back to pick up more. So so good!

Good simple flaky pastry place! This cute bakery is easy for down town commuters to grab something to and from the office. My first thought for any pastry place is, how good and fresh could this taste at the end of the day. I was happily surprised and that's saying a lot! The appearance looks just ok but the texture, lightness, flavour and filling makes up for the simple aesthetics. The plain croissant is my bar setter for any pastry place. This one passed and exceeded a good standard croissant, buttery, flaky, had a dense outer crust with chewy inside like in Paris, except with the Dutch influence. The Viking Slice: not exciting for Instagram and also kind of dry looking, BUT WAIT, it's pretty darn good! The chocolate glaze on top is simple like at a donut store(i.e. Boston cream donut glaze) but needed as this adds the extra sweetness to the marzipan filling inside amongst flaky buttery layers. It is not dry at all and very light despite its looks, I really enjoyed eating away at the edges as they were very tasty. The names of the pastry are all Danish inspired so I can't remember the names of the box I sampled. But most of the treats have the same similar flaky layers, filled similar with an almond paste and graced with a touch of icing or chocolate glaze. The box for take out is strange as the hole isn't covered with a plastic so always ask for a bag of you're carrying it far. This place is great, nothing too fancy just really good and true pastries.

Tiny little Danish bakery located in the underground of Union Station. You'd miss it if you were just rushing to and from work amongst all the construction. Glass displays of freshly baked pastries and cakes line two walls for patrons to agonize over. I purchased an Aeble Fiske ($2.50), which is a puff pastry folded in towards a slice of tart apple and topped with icing sugar. The pastry itself was super light and flaky but not at all dry - it pretty much falls apart in your mouth when you bite into it. Baked for just the right amount of time, there were no hard edges, just flaky, crispy layers. The icing sugar gave it just a little bit of sweetness in each bite. I feel like it disappeared in 5 bites since the layers were so airy. I thought the apple was a little too raw, but maybe that's the way it's intended to be (I've never been to Denmark so I can't say). My only gripe is that the store is tiny so you feel rushed while you're trying to figure out what you want. The signs are all in Danish so it'd be nice to have a short description underneath to explain the ingredients. I really enjoyed the apple pastry and am looking forward to trying their Spandaur next.

Wow! Reading the reviews on here made this place easy to find. We got a variety of pastries to share with friends for breakfast as well as a loaf of bread and I let them up sell me with some Danish crisp breads. (That I've been enjoying with a nice slab of Gouda!--Glad I'm a sucker! The pastries melted in your mouth. So fresh! We'll definitely be back!

Super busy place in the mornings located at Union station. Kind of hard to find, but if you're coming from the trains, you'll likely pass it to Union station. I tried the almond raspberry Danish for $2.50. It's small, sweet and fluffy. Overall I thought it was pretty good, but it doesn't compare to actual danishes I had in Denmark. I find they lack some density. But I'd go back to try some others bc I love danishes!

OMG.. My coworker bought me this round thing with apple and cinnamon in the middle, and it may have topped Portuguese tarts as my all time favourite thing in life. I'm currently in love.. but sad that it's gone.. Story of my life. Luckily, I know where to find her..
