This dish surprised me. The chicken was perfectly fried—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and well-seasoned without being overpowering. What really tied it all together was the scrambled egg base: soft, creamy, and flavourful, almost like a comforting blanket over the rice. It is simple hawker fare, but done with real care. You can tell the team puts effort into every plate. I left full and satisfied—and honestly, a little impressed. Will definitely be back. Sometimes, all it takes is a good bowl of chicken rice to turn the day around.

Had the chicken cutlet rice but didn’t enjoy it much since there was more flour coating than chicken, and it wasn’t very crispy. The luncheon meat rice was flavorful and tasty, although it was a little oily.

Ordered the chicken cutlet rice and it was pretty bad, really disappointed 😞 Chicken cutlet was partially uncooked (portion of the meat was RED). They pre-fry the meat, keep it at the side and serve it when you order. The pre fried skin and meat was SO HARD I had a good jaw workout 🥲 The egg was good and runny though but rice was mushy so no go. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone 😞

Egg was extremely creamy and done right on the spot upon ordering! Fried chicken was delicious and was not the usual, had a fermented NanRu taste to it as well! I didn’t get spring onions in my dish but had a generous amount of sauce poured over the egg and rice, making it a wonderful combination.

Overall tasty. It was fun to try this iconic dish with scrambled eggs and chicken, but very dripping with fat

Came to try danlao because I'm huge lover of scrambled eggs and heard good reviews. Overall i had a good experience and the bowl of egg rice was truly good. I tried two types, one with prawns and one with the big cubes of luncheon meat. Both were really good, with the luncheon meat being chunky, giving the bowl good texture. The prawns were generous in portion too and eggs are wet and tasty. Service was really quick too, i may have waited only 2 mins before both my orders were ready which was really impressive. Only complaint is the service was really 'short' and there was some attitude from the uncle. Not sure if that's how he usually communicates but it could be off putting for some. I took some time to adjust as well. I will be back to try the others though, hope there will be more options available soon!

Try their Tomato Scrambled Egg Rice for $5.It is a comforting, well-executed take on tomato and eggs over rice. The egg is fluffy and perfectly cooked, pairing well with the sweet-savory tomato sauce.

Tried their egg and chicken cutlet fried rice at Plaza Singapore food court - probably their new outlet here. Quite nice. Asked for less rice. I will ask for more saurce or gravy as its quite dry and slightly oily too.
