Danny's Pizza Tavern

I tried the Caesar salad and it was okay. nothing bad, but not something I’d order again. The pizza however, was excellent. I went with the mushroom pizza this time and really enjoyed it. Great crust, well balanced cheese, and solid flavor overall. Next time, I’ll definitely try the pepperoni. Nice cozy vibe as well. A good spot if you’re in the mood for pizza.

We realized that chopped salads need to be mixed really well, otherwise the bottom gets super sour. We only mixed ours lightly, and the parts at the bottom were so sour we couldn’t eat them. If we had mixed it properly, we definitely would’ve finished it. The mushrooms were absolutely delicious, and the pepperoni was a bit salty for me but tasted great with the spicy honey drizzle. The pizza with the lemon on top was the clam pizza if you don’t like any fishy flavour, I wouldn’t recommend it. The flavour was more like mussels than clams. The dessert was just decent.

Such a gem in Toronto! Their pizzas (Tavern Pies) are freshly made in a traditional pizza oven and are the best we’ve tried in Canada so far. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. Good vibes and trendy😄 Make sure to reserve your spot in advance as it’s getting full fast.

A new go-to spot! I didn’t have a reservation but luckily scored a seat outside — and I’m so glad I did. The mozzarella sticks are hands-down the best I’ve ever had: super crispy, gooey inside, absolute perfection. The burger was an old-school classic — juicy, flavorful, with an amazing sauce and perfectly cooked. Fries were golden and crispy, just how I like them. Now the jerk chicken pizza? Unreal. Topped with tender jerk chicken, fresh pico de gallo, and a hint of mango sauce — every bite was a flavor bomb. The crust was just right, and the balance of toppings made it one of the best pizzas I’ve had in the city. Big shoutout to our server too — super chill and helpful walking us through the menu. Can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu. This spot is definitely going in my regular rotation.

The mushroom pizza is a 10/10 and the margarita pizza was an 8.5/10. Their hot honey was one of the best I’ve had! We also tried to mozzarella sticks, but it’s too heavy and cheesy. Their espresso martini is also a 10/10. Will be back to try more!

Very good food and service was great, the space was just a bit small. Ordered the burger, mozzarella sticks, Caesar salad, and pepperoni pizza. Everything was good although I’d say the pizza could’ve been slightly crispier on the bottom but overall very good. The butter cake was also not too sweet so if you want something that tastes a bit more flat it’s rlly good but if you’re looking for a WOW dessert probably order something else

Staff are lovely. Bar tender was attentive. Had the cacio pizza and it was sadly a bit disappointing. The edge was quite dry and the pizza was quite burnt around the edges. The Caesar was quite delicious - would recommend. Now for the mozzarella sticks. They had a lovely cheese pull as hot and fresh. Great marinara sauce, but sadly lacking on the flavour. Mind you it is mozzarella, but seems like a bit of a miss. Would recommend the red sauce pizzas and the bartender said the steak and chicken was great. Was a fun place but food was just missing the mark.

Food was delicious and service outstanding!! Best aperol spritz and Caesar salad in Toronto. Pizza is great, chicken soft, tender and delicious. Steak was amazing!!!

Danny's was a must visit place on my list. I've heard of this place several times and couldn't wait to go with some friends. We ordered drinks and the mozzarella sticks, pepperoni and margarita pizzas. The mozzarella sticks were sooooo cheesy. The pizza crusts were a little charred for my liking but overall everything was super delicious. We will definitely be going back

My buddy suggested we go here, good reviews and can't say no to pizza. I consider myself someone who takes their pizza pretty seriously so expectations were high given the hype. Started with the mozzarella sticks and they tasted like what you get from a frozen box of PC branded ones. Pizza was mid at best. I found the pizza to be burnt. Don't bother with the side sauce, we got hot honey and garlic which were also lacklustre. Wish I could give a better review but service wasn't anything special either. Don't think the server checked in with us at all. Tables are way too small. An order of mozzarella sticks and a pizza was 50 bucks, didn't even have a drink. Had to hit another spot after and got some more food

Well tonight was a night I got to find a spot to eat without the worry of getting consensus, I done on my own after helping a senior friend of mine with decluttering - so I chose to try a place I knew nothing about - I didn't even look at reviews to see the menu, so I got a seat at the bar, (best place to sit in my opinion. I ordered the Caesar and a pepperoni pizza The portions are meant to share but that did not deter me The Caesar salad was authentically delicious, perfect amount of dressing, (unexpected but delicious anchovy) . My Pizza was huge- thin crusted and outstanding fresh flavour - the pizza is cut for a group to share and I managed a 1/4 of the pizza before I was full. The bartender had some mad skills at mixing drinks, and the space was busy, and I liked the views of the kitchen, and will certainly be back!

We ordered the mushroom pizza and the mozzarella sticks. They were both amazing, great tavern pizza did not require a dip and the mozzarella sticks were crispy in the out and the cheese was soft, I would give this place 5 stars for the food and the vibe and service. However, disappointed by my drink I got a cocktail of was just some pineapple juice with two cherries for $13, so maybe I will get a simple lemonade next time. Still worth a visit!

The pepperoni pie was really good and we tried a limit edition pie called baked potato pie it was just okay! The restaurant ambiance is dark and intimate. It was busy on a thursday night but I just walked in. The service was effective and the waiter checked up on us often

Have been dying to try this place and on a casual Saturday walk, took a chance and got space at the bar. The place was jammed. We got a spot at the bar and enjoyed their chopped salad and mushroom pizza. The staff were laid back, super pleasant and very appreciative of the positive feedback. If you are looking for a casual, delicious meal try it. Make reservations or try your luck for a spot at the bar. Note that while their pizza was awesome, their burger and ribs looked unbelievable and will be tried on a future visit!

I wasn't familiar with Danny's Pizza Tavern when it was offered up as a suggestion on a recent Friday night, but all I needed to hear was the word pizza to know that I was in. We showed up around 6:00 and the place was bustling, so I was worried we wouldn't be able to get a seat. But we were offered a couple of spots at the bar, which was absolutely fine by me. I started out with a Margarita, because why not? And it was excellent. But we were there for the food, so we figured we'd order an appetizer: the Cheesy Garlic Bread ("garlic, parmesan"). It arrived a while later and boy oh boy was it incredible. It was cheesy and garlicky and just so, so flavorful. I was immediately impressed. For our main, we asked the bartender which pizza he thought was the best, and he suggested the Sausage and Peppers ("mozzarella, fior di latte, house sausage, banana peppers"), which we already had our eye on. And holy moly was he ever right. This was absolutely the best pizza I can remember eating. Everything about it works so well. The crust is perfect and the various toppings, including the zesty sausage and delicious banana peppers, work so well together. It's a fairly large pizza and when it was first delivered, I was sure we wouldn't finish it. But oh boy did we ever finish it. It's incredible. I loved the vibe in the place, too. Noisy and busy, but without ever becoming obnoxious. Our bartender/server was terrific, too. I love this place.

What a wretched experience. This meal was deeply middling and the manager of the restaurant was abrasive. I would suggest this meal to no one, literally no one.

Went to Danny's Pizza Tavern on Saturday evening of the civic long weekend. Arrived around 4:30. They were quite busy but had couple of tables available. The tables are quite small outside and it is a small space inside. The decor inside is very chic. We ordered two appetizers, a beverage and the pepperoni pizza. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We got the garlic bread and cheese sticks with marinara. They were to die for. The pizza is a thin crust pizza loaded with pepperoni and surprisingly the pizza crust was still crispy and delicious. The size was perfect for two to share. I think this place is definitely now one of my favourite pizza restaurants in the city. Cannot wait to go back and try the other pizzas on the menu. If you are going making reservations is highly recommended.

Late dinner with some friends. This place was small and packed for a Thursday night. With barely enough room to move around in these beautiful pies are being served all over the place from classic pepperoni to clam pizza. Nice small wine selection Great salads And some other options if you dont want pizza. Pizzas are thin crunchy and worth coming here for a pie. Recommend

Loved the pizza. Mozzarella sticks was an after thought but I loved it too. They had 1/2 price wine bottle on Monday but we just had one beer

The mozzarella sticks were the highlight of the night. The outside was so perfectly crispy with the best cheese pull. The broccolini and patatas was pretty good as the the whipped ricotta had more flavour that anticipated! The pepperoni pizza was pretty average to be honest, but the garlic dip it came with was so delicious. My friend and I split a bottle of wine so our total came to about $70 each.

Finally checked out Danny's Pizza Tavern after seeing it all over TikTok. To start off the vibe of this place was great. Great decor/atmosphere. Staff were super friendly. The drinks were great and good size. The food was pretty good - not life changing, but solid. Caesar salad was great. Mozzarella sticks were a tad dry but the pizza was solid.

Amazing food. A bit squishy and loud but would definitely come back. Highlights were the pizza, Caesar salad and ooey gooey cake.

Never ever write reviews, but this place was just not a good experience. We had a reservation and had to wait, which was totally understandable, but the host was kinda cold about it. When it came time to pay the bill they came by and were super nice to us which always feels like a bit of a downer. Always at least be consistently mean imo. The food was pretty decent, but they played the same song on repeat for almost an hour before anyone noticed which felt a bit like interrogation torture. The definite low light was a drunk dude sitting across from me at another table that launched a cup of gross smelling ranch all over my pants which the restaurant didn't really do anything about. (Although a server handed me a single napkin to clean it up with) The whole experience was pretty cursed and my pants are now cursed as well.

They burn the f*** out of their pies. Like really. And they stand by it (like every g.d. restaurant in the 6ix)". "That's the way it is" said the server. The server and her tipsy manager gave no f***s about our experience. But I am grateful for their smuggled on-point Lambrusco and the warm olives appy. I'm glad I went. And I think you should go and form your own opinion because this place seems like it has potential. If you're reading this in 2024 or 2025, maybe the staff and management have turned over and maybe you should give them a chance, because everyone deserves a second chance. Just ask for your pie "medium-rare to medium".

Noisy, high energy, bustling vibe. Delicious Caesar salad (just be ready for the anchovies), pepperoni pizza had a perfect "zing" and even if you don't have room - make room for the key lime pie on a stick - delicious!!! And terrific service!!

I LOVE this place. Cool vibe. Unpretentious and delicious food. Great cocktails and service. I always have a great time. This place is a total gem
