Dao by Dorsett AMTD Singapore

I had a fantastic solo stay at the DOW Dorset Hotel in Singapore and would absolutely recommend it. The room was very comfortable, spotless, and thoughtfully designed. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the sheets were incredibly soft, which made for a great night’s sleep. As someone staying alone, I truly appreciated how calm, safe, and welcoming the atmosphere felt. The overall experience was impeccable, and everything seemed well organised and carefully managed. As very small and purely constructive notes for improvement: although the bed linens were extremely comfortable, I noticed that in a few spots they were slightly torn and could benefit from being replaced. Additionally, in the kitchenette, it would have been helpful to have a dishcloth or kitchen towel, both for drying dishes and for placing items to drain after washing. These were very minor details and did not take away from an otherwise excellent stay. Overall, everything was truly outstanding, and I would happily return.

Great location, rooms are 3-4 stars, but I’ll go with a 4 star. But I have found the staff to not be the friendliest, it’s difficult to get a smile and the breakfast is a 1 star. You might as well stop serving breakfast with this quality, specially at 30-35 dollars per person. The croissants are crunchy and old, the pancakes taste like nothing, no granola, the cheese selection is 2 not good cheeses. I suggest sleep here, but have breakfast outside or order something on grab. We’re not likely to come back.

Location is definitely 5 stars and it’s situated directly in Tanjong Pagar. Most suitable for long corporate stay as price for their deluxe room is quite affordable comparing to surrounding hotels though it’s room it’s still slightly below luxury hotels standard. Still Pretty spacious for deluxe room, considering it has a mini kitchenette. No washer for deluxe room but 1 bedroom onwards. Full toiletries provided. Room is clean. Saw that it has complimentary shuttle services to quite a few places which is a plus point. However, no complimentary carpark if guests don’t book thru their website. Food around the hotel is definitely not as issue for weekdays. Plenty of different cuisines by walking. Local popular Lat Pat Sat is also just a 3-5 min walk.

My experience at the hotel with my friend was excellent, and we were fully satisfied throughout our stay. The country was beautiful and the hotel played an important role in making our five day stay truly enjoyable. The staff was outstanding always kind, polite, and willing to help. The hotel’s breakfast was also very good, offering both quality and variety. Although there was a misunderstanding regarding some clothes we gave to the hotel for washing and ironing, the issue was resolved immediately with great courtesy and professionalism by the manager, which we truly appreciated. Overall our stay was flawless and I would highly recommend this hotel without any hesitation.

I found the bed really comfortable, one of the best. What brand of mattress and bed sheets does this hotel use? I also really liked the hotel swimming pool, the in-room filtered water tap, the coffee pod machine and the deep toilet bowl with the washer tap. These little details make it a much more comfortable stay. Overall, this was a really lovely hotel and I would come back again.

Went to Dao by Dorsett for buffet breakfast. The lobby reception at level 7 was very modern but a bit small. Nevertheless it was very impressive. The breakfast restaurant was not very big and the variety was decent. It has the usual western breakfast items like bacon, eggs counter, salad and fruits, and Starbucks coffee machine. It did have a porridge section which I loved. Overall a decent experience. Location very good for business travellers as in the middle of the CBD and near Tanjong Pagar MRT.

The staff are nice and friendly. Breakfast is decent. The best thing about this is the location. It's central to everywhere you want to be. The downside i would say are the rooms are showing a lot of wear and tear. We stayed in a 2 bedroom Executive suite - which was an upgrade (again given how this one was run down i don't know how the deluxe would have been). There is wallpaper peeling off, marks on the walls, water stains in the bathroom countertop. From what I could tell, it was clean but there are a lot of signs of wear and tear given the costs they charge. It is a modern looking hotel and room so if the price is good go ahead and book it especially given the location.

This is my third time staying at your property, and I chose DAO again because I have always been satisfied with previous experiences. Upon check-in on 29 November 2025, my initial booking was for a studio room. The receptionist informed me that I could upgrade to a 1-Bedroom unit with an inroom washer & dryer for an additional SGD 50++, and I agreed to the upgrade. However, the room provided was an Accessible Room, which caused significant inconvenience during my stay. The bathroom floor became extremely wet whenever we showered, and the water did not drain quickly, leaving the entire bathroom floor covered with water and bath soap residue. This is not a suitable or comfortable experience, especially considering the additional payment for the upgrade. We are not guests with disabilities, and I feel that room allocation should be done more carefully and attentively. If the only room available for the upgrade was an Accessible Room, this should have been clearly communicated during check-in, and I should have been given the choice to accept or decline it. Please take note on this!
