Returned for nice dinner. We enjoyed grilled octopus. Beef tartare, Capelletti with lobster, Rib Eye steak, heirloom carrots, Brussel sprouts, lemon cheese cake, caramel chocolate brownie. Great service, thank you 😊 ************** Had a wonderful meal at this downtown restaurant, which is bigger than it looks from outside. It has lovely in door seating (elegant decor with “arches”), beautiful bar area, and substantial “L” shaped patio. Upon arrival for our reservation, 2 lovely ladies greeted us, gave the choice of indoor or patio seating. Although restaurant quite busy, they made sure we were happy with our table 🌟 🌹🌟Our server was great. We enjoyed sparking rose, Branzino (excellent), Brussels sprouts, lemon cheesecake (very light / excellent), good latte. Delicious food, wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended! 🌟🌹🌟All around great staff! Will return soon, thank you!

A couple of foodies went to brunch and here’s the story.. food is very very good! I was really impressed with the ricotta toast, pancakes and eggs Benedict! The flavours, the presentation, the portions- all so SO good!! Very reasonable honestly for the price point!! Go and dress up! Have fun! Eat the carbs!

One of the best patios in the city, but hands down the best patio in FiDi area. It’s elevated, but not stuffy, super cute, the food is great and service is on point. But if you get a chance to have dinner or brunch inside, it doesn’t disappoint either. Super chic and the vibe at night is next level. But the brunch pancakes are out of this world. Top 3 pancakes in the city.

FOOD: • Waldorf salad: very fun flavor and texture. There's crunchy, nutty, refreshing, sour and so many more just in 1 bowl. • Mussels: the creme fraiche and paprika oil add very unique flavor to this dish. It smell very good, no fishy and no sand in it. • Steak: it's cooked to perfection, just right medium rare. The meat is so tender it's very high quality. Bordelaise sauce is clear and has beautiful color. • Truffle baked potato: even a side dish is given good attention. Truffle bring a simple potato dish to a different level. • Chocolate cake: served with an ice cream and some crunchy crumbs. I inhaled the cake in less than 5 minutes because it's just so delicious. DRINKS: Balance flavors, not too sour or too sweet. Love the cherry! SERVICE: service is so professional. I was taken good care of and my waiter came check every once in a while. VIBE: very elegant. The interior and lighting is giving soft yet upscale vibe. It makes me feel very comfortable, not heavy or too formal feeling at all. The place is big and tables arrangement give a lot of negative space to create balance.

'Daphne' is a pretty fancy place and people dress up. The staff treats you like the show 'The Bear' which is to say, pretty amazingly. The service is fantastic. However, the food - it falls short. I got a burger with fries and bread and butter as a starter; my friend had the chicken and I tasted it, as well. There's nothing really bad about it, but it felt pretty underwhelming with no real complexity to the flavors, especially against the backdrop of what this place is, and it's price. Personally, I think the fries weren't great, I've had much better for much less. The burger wasn't cooked to my requested medium, though I am aware that meat temperature is a heated subject, in the legal sense. I felt that something about the bun and the inside texture brought the whole thing down a little, but that's me. The chicken was also just okay. I expected a lot of flavor from the pan sauce but it wasn't really there for me. The texture of the chicken was good and it was juicy and well cooked. Overall, I would definitely recommend trying the place out, you will be taken care of and might feel differently about the food.

Arrived at 9 PM and were promptly shown to our seats in the speakeasy section which has an absolutely stunning aesthetic, perfect for photos and a unique night out. Our waiter was attentive and offered fantastic drink suggestions. I tried The Botanist mocktail, and it was easily one of the best I’ve had so highly recommend! For mains, I ordered the salmon, which, unfortunately, was quite bland and underwhelming. The New York strip loin, requested medium to well, came out inconsistently cooked (half well, half burnt). However, the manager handled the issue gracefully, which really showcased the restaurant’s commitment to top-tier service. The star of the night was the lemon meringue; hands down the best I’ve had in Toronto. I’ve also heard great things about their pasta and pizza, so that might be the better route next time. Overall: Exceptional service, amazing drinks and desserts, but the main courses need some serious refinement. Worth a visit for the ambiance and cocktails alone.

I had my birthday dinner here with some friends! The food was good, not necessarily the most memorable meal, but still enjoyable. Although the squash tempura and beef tartar was really good, 100% recommend. We also tried the black truffle pizza, truffle fries, brussels sprouts, lobster pasta, king salmon and seafood pasta. Everything was presented very nicely, light in flavour and was overall okay. What really made the experience stand out was the service. Our server was absolutely fantastic, super knowledgeable about the menu, attentive without being overbearing, and genuinely fun to talk to. The atmosphere was also lovely, warm, inviting, and with a vibe that makes you want to stay a little longer. Would definitely come back, especially for the service and ambiance.

I went to Daphne Restaurant for my birthday and the experience I had, dining in this beyond beautiful restaurant exceeded my expectations!!! From the ambience, with such a creative interior as well as a beautiful exterior, including an astonishing climate. One thing that I have to especially remark though was the service. YARA was my server for the night and she was the most sweetest and amazing person I must have ever came across. I loved her so much!! Not only did she treat us with so much kindness but also did she make myself feel incredibly special on my special day 🤍 As well as showing such great hospitality and immediate care, making sure that we would not miss anything. The whole stuff overall genuinely presented themselves as very friendly and caring! This has been the best restaurant experience I have ever had from start to end and just such an iconic experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I am definitely rating this place 5 stars without a question, there was not a single thing that I could possibly complain about. This is definitely the best restaurant I have ever been to, and trust me this is coming from a restaurant hopper🤭so please trust me when I say this!! Best day ever, best place ever! 🤍🤍

Came here on a Saturday night with a group of 8 for a friends birthday and had an amazing dinner experience. Drinks - ordered an espresso martini and an 8oz Pinot Grigio. Both really flavour and an excellent compliment to the meal. The espresso martini came with a little sweet honey comb like cracker sitting -- as a drink topper and it was super cute! Food- many of their food items include appetizers, pizza, steaks, seafood and mains. It was a big menu and very difficult to decide what I wanted as everything looked amazing! I ended up ordering the funghi pizza and it was so yummy. A perfect crunch, toppings were flavourful and complimented with a side of their chili sauce (ask for it!!!!) funghi pizza was umami and cheesy exactly what I was looking for. Service - friendly, attentive and fast. Our server Ethan was great. Able to explain and answer any questions from the menu, make recommendations accordingly. He was able to bring up friendly conversation. My drink wasn't empty without water all night! Though it was a busy night in the restaurant, our group was very pleased with the service he had provided us that night. Ambiance- dress nice, as it is a classy homey-vibe. The washrooms are a whole mirrored wall. The lighting is dim, yet so cute to have as an intimate date or group dinner. Highly recommended reservations ahead of time. 4/5! Recommend to those looking for a cozy fancy lil dinner/lunch whatever you please!

I had a decent dinner at Daphne on a Sunday evening! I don't think it's as mediocre as the other Yelpers alluded, however after extensive research, I did order "safe" choices. Atmosphere is super cute. Very trendy. Very cute for date night. I had no issues with service. I had wine, the little gem, and the chicken. The little gem had a little too much dressing, but was light and flavorful. The chicken was extremely tender and juicy. The vibe is the best thing about Daphne, but the food is pretty good as well.

From start to the end of our dining experience, Daphne did not fall short of amazingness. We were most impressed by the tuna steak and the waldorf salad but all the dishes are of fresh ingredients and great presentation. The only one we didn't quite like was the black truffle pizza which tasted like a breakfast dish due to the egg addition. Overall, we were very pleased and would def come back for the amazing food + deco + service.

Came here for brunch with seven girls and we had reservations. We were seated in the back where we had a rectangular table so that we could see each other, but the noise was so loud that we really couldn't hear across the table. It was a little unfortunate because some of us hadn't seen each other in over a year and a half so it would've been nice to be able to converse. I had the salmon Benedict and the green juice. Oddly enough, the majority of us had the eggs Benedict for our meal. I did not like my green juice at all. It was overpowering with cucumber and cucumber is not my favourite thing. I was told that it would be underwhelming however, it was quite the opposite and for nine dollars I didn't think it was worth it. The aesthetics inside is gorgeous. Definitely an Instagram place. I wouldn't say it on the top of my list of places to return to just given the experience that we had with the size of our group. Needless to say the eggs, Benny was awesome.

January 13, 2024 - Really cute restaurant! I went here for brunch with some friends. our server Sam was very nice and attentive. Food: Bread & Butter Steak & Eggs Pancakes Eggs Benedict Drinks: Daphne Negroni Pineapple Margarita Everything was delicious, I liked the steak & eggs, I found the pancake a bit heavy (I'm a criminal I love McD's pancakes or maybe I just like thin pancakes?... umm when I go back maybe I can ask if they make them thin, cause those pancakes were thick) lol... everything was very good. The bread with butter was tasty too. I liked the crunchy salt on the butter. My steak was cooked medium rare and it was soft and juicy went well with the (rice) hash brown. I found that the hash brown was a bit sweet but the steak had enough flavour and salt to counterbalance it. The drinks are strong!! Loved it! Whoever was the bartender, I love you. I ordered the Pineapple Margarita and gosh darn was it strong and spicy. I liked the art on the side of the glass but wasn't sure if I should have licked it. Daphne occupies a great location and has a beautiful dining room, but their hosting operations needs improvement. They seem to seat people upon arrival, rather than pre-planning arrangements based on reservations, which is how we were sat beside the drafty door despite booking a month in advance. The menu isn't overly exciting but offers a safe selection so there will be options for all. A light spread of nibbles started our meal: Olives ($8) - a variety of olives in a light citrus za'atar oil. Bread and butter ($8) - a sizeable basket containing different breads like focaccia, sesame baguette, and whole wheat. They were all soft and fresh and went with nicely with the whipped cultured butter. It would have been even better if the bread was warmed. Little gem salad ($20) - your typical salad that resembled a lightly dressed Ceasar. If it had more of the garlic parmesan dressing it would stand out better but did go with the other bites and kept things light. If you want to visit Flavour Town, hop on the black truffle pizza ($36) train. While the price may take you aback, the pie does contain slices of the fungi, you'll find them scattered amongst the thinly sliced potatoes. The soft puffy crust was a tad soggy in the centre, but it wasn't surprising given the egg that oozes over the pie adding a lovely creaminess. The dish was delicious with the addition of taleggio cheese, potato crema, and herbs. The duck mafalda ($35) was equally flavourful with the crimped pasta pulling in so much of the shredded duck and spicy sauce into its crevices. Although the dish isn't the prettiest, I loved the powerful punch of the sauce, which has a pesto-feel but still the freshness of a red sauce. For those abstaining from red meat, the tuna ribeye ($65) offers a 16oz hunk of protein that's great for sharing. We're warned the chimichurri is spicy, so we asked for the condiment on the side. In reality, there's not a lick of heat but was heavy on the citrus and was really needed to season the tuna, which otherwise is merely sitting in a muted truffle ponzu. The fish paired well with the sunchokes ($16), the root vegetables well roasted and tossed with sunflower tahini, brown butter, and caramelized honey that created a tasty crust. These would even work well with the little gem salad. I can see why the cauliflower ($32) is considered a main. An entire head of the vegetable arrives covered with sauces so there's a heartiness even without protein. Elements like the basil herb sauce gave it a freshness while the roasted grapes some sweetness. Still, it's a lot for one person so is best shared with a large group. I would not save room for dessert. If I liked chocolate, the Daphne bar ($16) was tasty, like a tuxedo cake in bar form with its dark chocolate mousse and caramel wrapped in a soft chocolate ganache. Alas, chocolate and I have a difficult relationship. We had high hopes for the coconut cream pie ($17), but it resembled a white chocolate mousse rather than pie as the dessert lacked the salty crust element. The passionfruit gel was also too tropical and took away from richness I expected from a cream pie. If anything, it's pretty to look at. Strawberry shortcake ($18) is usually one of my favourite desserts, but Daphne's was terrible... give me a supermarket version any day. The makrut lime cream was overpowering giving the cake a lemongrass flavour and the black sesame adding an earthy nuttiness that didn't compliment the strawberries.

First time at Daphne for lunch. It as good they sat us at the bar area because it's quieter and I was there to catch up with a friend. It seems like they sat all the business lunch crowd in the main dining room. I really want to give it 4 stars but both my friend and I had an upset stomach!!! It was flavourful but clearly something wasn't fresh. She went after we had the mussels & pizza so the likely culprit is the mussels? I didn't eat as much as she did so it didn't hit me till I got home. It wast that drastic but you know it was something from lunch. My friend really enjoyed the flavours of every dish we ordered. The branzino and the brussel sprouts were really good too. I get they want to be on top of service, they kept coming to ask how every dish was, if they can take our plates but several times we weren't done. When the staff asked if we want coffee or tea, I asked for Americano with cream he forgot the cream. no biggie to me, just simple things they miss for a lot of checking in ... I don't know if they offer dessert at lunch, the waiter only asked us if we wanted coffee or tea. We were busy catching up so we didn't ask for the dessert menu but we could have ordered since it was a belated bday meal. They are definitely friendly, polite, good, but not quite on point. We'll likely come back and try brunch!

A cute brunch spot for you and your friends! What a beautiful interior this place has from the moment you walk in. They have an open kitchen concept and the dining room is nicely lit and bright. Our server was attentive and always filling our water cups, so we were never thirsty. Washrooms are in a row hidden by a wall of mirrors and are unisex so you can pick whichever one is open. The washrooms camouflage into the wall though so I saw a few people confused if there were more washrooms along the way. I started my brunch with a vanilla latte. Their only milk alternative is almond or oat. You won't be able to find soy here. Which isn't too big of a problem since it's nice they even have milk alternatives to offer. As I'm writing the review and looking at their menu options, I can see on their website that they have both a brunch and lunch menu, but I'm not realizing I only got offered the brunch menu to look at. However, here's what we got for food from the brunch menu: Pancakes: 5/5 - Both beautiful to look at and so delicious! They're fluffy and tasty! Comes with a berry compote, lemon curd, coconut and maple syrup. This was great for sharing! Shakshuka: 3.5/5 - Your typical shakshuka dish. It comes with a super long piece of bread which was a great conversation starter. Taste was nothing special but still a hearty dish. Club Sandwich: 5/5 - Another beautifully presented dish. It was a good sandwich with the raw seared yellow fin tuna, baco and aioli. We changed our fries to a salad which was a solid 5/5! Hash Brown 4/5 - This is not your regular hash brown you can expect to arrive at the table. Instead, it came in one block looking like toast. It was great though because it was very crispy on all surfaces! Served with hollandaise in the middle and truffle cheese - YUM! Overall I have a great time here and can't wait to come back to check out their dinner menu based on other Yelpers reviews!

I initially had low expectations for this restaurant, having heard that it was more about aesthetics than quality. However, I was pleasantly surprised by both the food and the service. We started on the patio, but when it began to rain, the staff quickly and efficiently moved us inside. The entire restaurant is beautifully decorated and meticulously clean, creating a lovely dining atmosphere. We went for brunch, and I had the Eggs Benedict (charred corn biscuit, poached egg, avocado, hollandaise sauce, pepper jam). It was phenomenal, with a perfect balance of flavors. The only downside was it didn't come with home fries. For drinks, I had the 67 Shaken (Belvedere vodka, Campari, passion fruit purée, harissa jallab syrup, lime), which was excellent. However, my friends tried the Pineapple Habanero Margarita (Casamigos blanco tequila, Cointreau, pineapple, lime, habanero, jalapeño), and that was definitely the standout. Overall, a fantastic experience that exceeded my expectations.

Beautiful place, great food, an absolute 10/10 for patio ambiance. They launched recently so they might still be working out a few service kinks. I'm excited to see this place reach it's full potential. I went there with my friend around 8:30 pm on a Saturday. We were both traveling from out of town. We'd heard great things about this new restaurant. I can tell locals are very intrigued too, we heard many people walk by and say "what is THAT place?!" The patio has a lush, welcoming, upscale vibe. The drink menu looked delicious, so we put cocktail orders in right away. Our server couldn't have been nicer. In response to the earlier review commenting on the "Hooters vibe"--I'm just stunned. Their outfits were pretty standard waitstaff attire. We got the Gruyère donuts--TOTALLY worth the hype! We also got beets, just delicious, and the veggie ravioli, which was so fresh. My friend is a vegetarian, and there were plenty of options for her. Our waitress was very apologetic, but the wait for our cocktails was nuts. We got them after our food was served. They WERE good, I got the espresso drink with the cheese foam and it was like a delicious alcoholic Frappuccino. Other than the wait in the cocktails, this is a lovely new restaurant with potential, especially during patio season.

I've walked by this place so many times and been awed by their stunning interior and gorgeous patio, so at last I finally got to try it. Overall, it was a very solid spot with a great atmosphere, perfect for either a date night or a friendly dinner. First of all, the interior was so clean and well-designed, it was one of the few restaurants that wasn't over the top bougie and actually very aesthetically pleasing. Service was great too, no complaints and very attentive. The food and drink was a bit hit and miss. I tried their version of the old fashioned and a paper plane, and I thought both were underwhelming. However, my fellow diners really seemed to love their cocktails. For apps we tried bread and butter, tuna carpaccio, and squash tempura - all were just average. For mains we had the wagyu, duck mafalda, tuna steak, fries, and sunchokes - all of which were great! I especially loved their thick cut fries which were perfectly crisped, and the sauce that came with the steak. The duck pasta was interesting as it was a noodle shape I had never encountered before, and the sauce was almost like a duck ragu with crispy breadcrumbs which worked so well texturally. Finally for dessert we tried the ice cream sundae which was a perfect way to end the meal. Overall, I was thinking 3.5 stars for the value but I'll lean towards a 4. I really like the ambiance despite it being a bit loud to have conversations, and the food is definitely on the pricy side so you have to know what to order. I'm looking forward to coming back in the summer to check out that patio!

Ambiance Elegant in its simplicity, sparse at times and understated in a regal way. I thought it was sexy but slightly cramped. Food To start we had the bread, oysters and marrow. The marrow had entirely too much bread with it and one of the half's of my bone had no marrow in it when it was served which was very disappointing. They did remove it from my bill however, I was looking forward to it and it's sparseness was disappointing. Not worth the money for this starter IMO. The bread was excellent but I'm not hard to please when it comes to bread. The Oysters wee from Virginia and BC, I really don't like west coast oysters and our server was unsure of the types so we gambled and subsequently lost on the starter. I had the Wagyu with a side of sprouts as a main and I thought the spouts were charred fat too much but still tasty. I had to pick through the burned bits to get edible portions. The Wagyu was perfectly done. Had it been over cooked or tasteless I would have given Daphne 2 stars. It saved the meal. Service was sadly, lacking. The Som was very cool but our server seemed to be on her first day and was unsure of every question we asked. The cocktails were small and slightly overpriced and the wine selection by the glass needs help. Probably won't eat here again unless we hear from a friend that there's been a vast improvement overall.

Restaurants like Daphne are the reason I don't like to try new restaurants in Toronto. I am still looking for my unicorn- a "nice" ambiance with great food. Daphne was, unfortunately, not it. Ambiance is stunning. I came primarily to see the restaurant and to be in the physical space. I was curious about the little lamp they had on the table so I lifted it to see the power source, only to be told by the bouncer not to do that because the light will blind the other patrons (there was nobody there). I get that he was doing his job but the problem with living in 2023 is that there's no nuance. I literally just had it up for three seconds and he approached. Not great to start my birthday dinner with an eyeroll moment. Food is lacklustre. Ordered tuna carpaccio to start and BC salmon for main. BF ordered ravioli for main with side of brussels sprouts. Tuna Carpaccio was a strong start. Would eat this again. Nice flavours, well-balanced, etc. BC salmon was fine. Nothing super special. I guess for the price I was hoping for a bigger piece of fish. Ravioli was nicely presented but had absolutely no flavour. This is the problem with restaurants where 99% of the kitchen staff are smokers- nobody seasons things properly. Brussels sprouts were fine but it's something you can make at home easily with an air fryer. Nothing to report. For being an upscale restaurant, the wallpaper in the bathrooms was peeling off, the toilet paper hardware needed to be fixed and the roll was sitting on the ledge, and the light fixture was askew. Wouldn't come back.

The vibe of Daphne is rich and opulent. Chique vibe and crowd made the experience vibrant and alive. It was not too loud. Lovely place for a special meal for an occasion. The food had flavour and the service impeccable. Speedy, patient with guests and attentive. They were not rushing us. The way I like it. Louis made my experience spectacular. He was so kind, warm, welcoming and courteous. He made my cauliflower dish exactly as I wanted it. Honestly a magical experience with Louis expertise and high standard service skills. Well done Louis.

Finally decided to check this restaurant out. Came in for late dinner, was greeted by friendly staff. Inside, it appears smaller than it actually is. The ambiance was lovely, mood lighting, exposed kitchen. I highly recommend taking a picture in the hallway leading to the bathroom, so beautifully designed. Our server was absolutely delightful, the service was quick our mains arrived before our appetizers. Steak was probably the tastiest item on our table, cooked to perfection and full of flavour. Next up was the bone marrow, the earthy seasoning is what this dish absolutely delicious. The potato pizza was unique, the fungi pizza was average. The ravioli was probably our least favourite, it lacked flavour. I do recommend trying the tempura squash, the honey drizzle on top makes it tasty! Overall, we enjoyed our dinner, though they were closing we didn't feel rushed, I highly recommend checking it out Note: they serve halal

One thing about Toronto is that there's always an endless number of new restaurants popping up. I keep seeing this beautiful interior on TikTok and IG, and I must say it's just as nice in real life. We had: Amberjack Crudo: This was light and refreshing with a sweet passionfruit ponzu and a hint of spice from the serrano chili. The fish was slightly on the fishier side but overall it was good Roasted Bone Marrow: I actually usually love bone marrow but something about the port jam it was served with made it too overpowering House Pizza: This was good but average, we added shaved truffle which added some aroma to the dish Bone-in Ribeye: This was actually the best thing we had. The steak was tender, juicy and had tons of flavor. One of the best steaks I've had at a restaurant in a long time. This really surprised us because it's not a steak house by any means and the other items we had were quite mid Whole Roasted Sea Bream: This was good, most of the flavors came from the romesco and salsa which it was served with Duck Malfada: This was apparantly one of the most popular pastas on their menu. The flavors were lacking and we even forgot that there was duck in the pasta. We couldn't finish it and didn't want to take it home either Daphne Potato: This reminded me of the twice baked potato from the KEG but better. Super creamy and cheesy, I just wish I added the caviar option. Coconut Cream Pie: This wasn't overly sweet, and had lots fragrant coconut bits. Some of our dining companions thought this was the best dish of the night When we were leaving, we noticed the washroom connects to this massive patio and loungey-bar area which was even more STUNNING. Even though I wasn't that impressed with the food, I'd probably come back for their patio and give a few more items a try

My friend and I tried out this resto on a Tuesday night and it was actually quite busy this resto has 3 rooms and a beautiful terrace. We sat outside because the weather perfect. The decor and aesthetics is 10/10. The service is a bit off in the sense that that servers seemed awkward and out of place. They were not very organized and some times it took a while before they came back to check up on us so ended up asking whoever was available. The food and drinks were really good and the dessert (coconut cream pie) was amazing! It was pretty and tasted so good. We ordered the ham, chili and lime doughnuts and also the fish. We really enjoyed it. We shared all the dishes. My friend ordered the herbaltini and I ordered the Botanist which is a mocktail. Overall we really enjoyed the restaurant and will definitely be back!!

Very nice atmosphere, the hostess and wait staff were excellent and our meal of Bolognese pasta and the pepperoni pizza was delicious. The ice cream sundae was really delicious. The wine was very pricey but it was a very nice evening out.

Came here for dinner last night for our friend's birthday. The interior is very pretty and modern. Cute and romantic spot. The food presentation looks amazing, and the food was okay. What I am disappointed in was that our server spilled our cocktail drinks all over the birthday girl, obviously it was by accident. The birthday girl outfit was drenched, and she gave her some tonic water to help remove any stains. Of course, this ruined our dinner experience because she is sitting there in her wet clothes. But we are trying to make the best out of it and enjoy our dinner. The waitress apologized and felt bad, and the manager came by and apologize as well. But I am sorry an apologize isn't good enough. A free dessert and a round shots (5 shots) does not compensate for spilling the cocktail all over the birthday girl. We were shocked they didn't give us a discount and our bill was over $700 dollars. Yes, I understand it was an accident, but the birthday girl was wet thru the whole dinner. They didn't even offer to pay for her dry cleaning for her dress. It's just unacceptable because it was their fault, and they didn't even do the bare minimum to make it up to the birthday girl. We left disappointed in the service and lack of compassion.

First time at this restaurant and it was better than I expected. Everything was good and had good flavours. The duck pasta was excellent and was so flavourful. The Tina ribeye was tender and had great flavours. The chicken was done well and tasted amazing. The beef tartare was good as well. The bone marrow was very good as well and it was a good portion. It needed just a touch of salt to enhance the taste. The sunchokes were really interesting and were excellent. The strawberry shortcake was a great end to the meal.

Absolutely outstanding service. Ambiance is classy and upscale. Cocktails were delightful and upscale, a really great old fashioned and spicy margarita! Food was very good. Truffle pizza is a great app! The beef tartare was nice and mild without an over powering flavor! Great oysters! Highly recommended!

We went to Daphne for a birthday dinner. It's a very popular spot. Elements of our experience were pleasant but overall it was a little strange and I'm not sure I'd go back. Pros: - Solid steak menu, including some higher end cuts. Steaks were nicely cooked and accompanying sauce was nice. - Service was friendly and attentive. - Mussels were exceptional. - Bread was very good. - Bone marrow was good. Cons: - There's a weird high-end Hooters vibe. Some servers wear short skirts and act in a very over the top almost subservient way. It's hard to explain but it's definitely odd. - They charge $4 per person for table water. - They asked us if we wanted more bread and then charged us. I was fine paying but it felt a little disingenuous. - We didn't enjoy the salad, sunchokes or the potato. - They brought me the wrong beer. - We had to ask for dinner plates and steak knives.

With their glamorous looking outdoor patio and bar, indoor vaulted ceiling and big open kitchen, this place implies it will hold the food to the same high standard. While the drinks and the service were good, the food is mediocre and the menu is very deceptive. We ordered some drinks, the Veal tartare, smoked Gruyère donut as starters, Maitake steak and Duck malfada as mains and Brussels sprouts as side. The smoked Gruyère donuts are some deep fried super oily tiny chopped churros, with some help-yourself melted Gruyère cheese on the side. It's more like your random midnight snack - don't expect any culinary sophistication in it. The Maitake Steak as a main dish is like only serving you the fries when you order a burger. To be clear, this is just a $40 mushroom. There is no steak. (Maybe you're paying $39 for the interior decor and $1 for the mushroom.) This is an issue throughout the menu. While it is full of fancy words used to just describe very generic ingredients, they don't describe the main ingredient. And they need to. The Duck Mafalda is an overly greasy pasta soaked in the fattest duck's fat. You'd be hard pressed to find the actual duck meat in there, as other reviewers have noted - it's hard to finish the entire plate. Over the past years, we have tried many world-class restaurants, including many three-star Michelin star ones. We would say, if you want to go to a restaurant that cares about good food and their customers, don't try this place.

Everything about Daphne makes it an enjoyable experience. Thoughtful, friendly staff... delicious food made from premium ingredients that isn't overly fussy... beautiful dining rooms to sit in... it's the full package. Good for business or pleasure there's something for everyone. I'm a vegetarian who often eats with carnivores and we've never had anyone leave unhappy.

Went on a Friday for an early after work dinner, it's a convenient location if you work in the financial district! My friend and I had a table in the back/lounge area - it was a little quieter and than the main area which was nice as we wanted to chat and catch up. Service was attentive and friendly - every staff member that walked by checked to make sure we had everything we needed - it wasn't overbearing. Good was tasty and we enjoyed every bite of our meals. I'll definitely be back.

I enjoyed an incredible dinner at Daphne the newest hotspot in Toronto! The service and hospitality were impeccable! Thank you to your staff and to our server, John! The menu and overall ambiance play on American Classics, but with unique twists including a wood fired grill! It would've been nice to enjoy the patio which would've added to the overall experience, although it's not yet open. Featured menu items: I had to try my favourite drink the Paloma and this one hit the spot! Unfortunately, they did not have all of the ingredients to make their signature Paloma, but this one was great! They have a bounty of seafood options, including the tuna carpaccio, which is a must try, and the tuna crudo which is a nice light starter. Out of the two, the carpaccio was preferable given its punchy flavors! The whole grilled Sea bream was beautifully presented and embellished with a robust romesco and jalapeño sauce! My fish was a bit overcooked and tough to eat, but still delicious. The 'embered beet salad' with straciatella is another must try that is not only a treasure to behold, but with hidden treaures inside to enjoy! The olives were a nice side dish, but beware of the pits! My dining companion enjoyed the duck mafalde and the aromas alone were so enticing! If you're a fan of the 'notorious' mafaldi ai fungi from Nervosa and Gusto restaurants, you'll love this one! They also have a great selection of steaks, pizza and vegetarian options! There's truly something for everyone here! Be sure to check out their latest ventures Margo and Ultra as well! Overall, this is a welcome addition to the Toronto restaurant scene! Congrats!

Beautiful ambience, decoration and design. However, there are a lot of cons, to begin with the service is terrible, we were a party of 7 and they didn't check on our table after we got the food. One of my friends spilled her cocktail and it was such an eye sore to look at since no one was able to come by. We ordered a lot of food and they didn't even bother taking some empty plates out of our way, our water was never filled. We had to ask for some service (take the plates away and refill our water) the guy had a shocked face and was almost annoyed. To start off I got the 67 shaken, very delicious and sweet if you want it stronger it's an additional $13. 9/10. Bread & Butter - Completely skip this dish nothing special. 0/10 Tuna Carpaccio - Its okay, nothing special 5/10 Charred Padron - The romesco sauce has a little kick to it, peppers has a nice grill. 6/10 Tempura Squash - Flavours are meh, couldn't really taste the yogurt/honey/mint they mentioned on the menu. Tastes just like tempura at a sushi place. Would not recommend 3/10 Roasted bone marrow - The bone marrow is huge, the jam goes really well with the dish. If you like bone marrow I would suggest trying it. Again nothing outstanding. 7/10 Salt Spring Mussels - Fresh and delicious would suggest this for the table 8/10 Beef Tartare - Our table really enjoyed this dish, flavours are spot on, would get again 9/10 Black Truffle pizza - I personally really love truffle, theres some strong truffle flavours and each bite was delicious - a bit oily 9.5/10 Porterhouse steak - They didn't cook this medium rare, like we have asked. It was clearly a medium but because of the poor service we didn't even bring it up to them. Terrible experience. 2/10 Red Sea Bream - I believe we paid around 160, this dish was delicious, would recommend and get again. Spaghetti Umbriachi - Our server recommended us to get 2 of these for the table, im glad he did. This dish has depth, the flavours with spice so good! 10/10. Duck Mafalda - a bit too salty, smaller dish as a main, 6/10 Brussels sprouts - not a bad side to share, nothing special 4/10 Hand cut fries - skip, fries were cold by the time it got to us. 1/10 Needs better service for a redo.

Went to Daphne last night....not worth the price or the aggravation. Where to start... the hostess was snotty and tried to put us in the bar even though we had booked long in advance for the main restaurant. We ordered cocktails (which are quite expensive) ...they were very short pours with little alcohol. I order the grilled patron peppers and got a few grilled but most had not been near a flame and then had the chicken which was obscenely large and quite undercooked! Good things, nice room, our server was great and they apologized and did not charge me for the foul fowl.

Went for a birthday dinner. There was a fly in our wine, when brought attention to our waiter he dismissed it and said "Oh that's totally normal and completely harmless." And never replaced the wine or wine glass. The food did not live up to its price and the service was horrible. The restaurant itself is beautiful.

The ambiance and décor was fantastic, beautiful layout, if you can get it sit on the patio gives you a feel you are not in Toronto. Ladies if you have that designer outfit that that you feel you should keep for special occasion. This is the place to wear it. First time here, very nice place. The food was very good, service not so much. The pricy wine list does not come with a Sommelier aparently. This is why we are rating the service as poor. For the price of their wines, which i think is too high, a Sommelier should be discussing the wine. we had to poor our own wine during the night, and the wateress didn't know what she was doing. I would go back but not for the wine experience.

We went to Daphne to celebrate my friend's birthday. I wanted to take her somewhere beautiful that would also serve delicious food and Daphne did not disappoint in either regard. We were seated in their stunning dining room and were promptly greeted by our server, John. We ordered drinks, apps and mains and food started flowing out of the kitchen in a timely manner. The mocktail we ordered, the Botanist, was really refreshing and tasty. I would definitely order it again. As for food we ordered the bread and butter, olives, tuna carpaccio, little gem salad, salmon and Daphne potato. The bread and butter were alright, nothing special and certainly not worth the money. I've been to restaurants where the complimentary bread and butter have been better. The olives were really tasty, I enjoyed the spice of the zaatar with the olives and the orange zest just rounded out the flavours perfectly. The tuna carpaccio and salmon were delicious and the fish tasted really fresh on both dishes. The salad was also very tasty and had a great mix of textures and was perfectly dressed. The Daphne potato was okay, not bad but not something I would order again. All in all this was a great experience and I loved the restaurant. I would definitely come back. Thank you to our server John who was friendly, attentive without ever being overbearing.
