Best fries in the world. No, seriously. They won that very same award in 2025. Ok, I don’t know if these are indeed better than those in a small shop in Buenos Aires, Bangalore or Bergen but the reputation stacks up. A small hole in the wall in the heart of Leiden, some spots to sit, but easier for take out. It’s usually manned by chipper yet courteous students, who chop the potatoes then and there. The fries are cut with the peel, fried twice over. I’ve gone there many times and the quality is stabile: crunchy yet never charred. Loads of sauces. And bitterballen to boot! Give it a shot, who knows, they may turn out to be better than the ones you had in Brussels that one time.

Though the location was small, the service was friendly and fast. Watching the process of making their fries really shows that they know their stuff. The food came out fast and perfect, so I'll be returning when I'm next in Leiden!

Fries are certainly decent but nothing special, I prefer the ones from Manneken pis. Kimchi croquette is a bit meh The Jalapeno cheese bitterballen are absolutely delicious though and a true recommendation!

Five stars. Freshly fried fries, crisp outside and soft inside, never greasy, and the portion size is generous. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. These are the best fries in the Netherlands. Add the mayonnaise and they taste even better.

Loved my visit to Dapp Frietwinkel! The kroketten rundvlees were crispy and flavorful, and the Dapp Combi’s kip gyros was super tasty and filling. Great spot if you’re craving quality fries and Dutch snacks!

The best fries in Leiden! The staff is very kind and careful of their customers. The fried taken and eaten are amazing...but also delivered are still very good! Rest assured that in case something is wrong with the delivery or they are late they will let you know. Super service! My favorite (and only) fritjes supplier!

Great place to get your fries! I’ve tried the truffle mayo sauce, it was great! They only have 2 seats inside and some chairs outside.

I went here at the recommendation of a colleague, and I was happy I listened to him. The fries were delicious. They have a variety of sauces from which you can pick: curry, mayonnaise, truffle (and others I don’t remember). My husband was very happy about the presentation and the machine they use for cutting the fires - they all get cut the same size.
