Dar Assiya, Marrakech, Morocco - Explore & Book

"There’s a mind-boggling choice of riad-hotels in Marrakech’s Medina, but only a small handful manage to strike that perfect balance between warm welcome, peaceful atmosphere and sumptuous Moroccan design. French hotelier Laurent Bernard knows how it's done, hitting the mark perfectly with his latest venture, Dar Assiya. This intimate, 5-room riad is seductively stylish. Architectural features date back to the 15th Century, and ornate patterns meander throughout. Everything is centred around a perfect Moroccan courtyard, with pillared arches, elaborate doorways, decorative lanterns and slender palm trees protruding up the middle. There’s a cooling plunge pool at the heart, elegantly decorated bedrooms to the sides, and a heavenly roof terrace at the top, with shaded seating to shelter from the scorching Moroccan sun. Breakfasts are said to be delicious, and the staff go out of their way to please. Need a late-night snack, pre-dinner drink, or help booking excursions? No problem. The fascinating Medina is right outside, so get out and explore its heady streets, then come back to decompress in Dar Assiya’s soothing, lamp-lit salons. Highs You’re bang in the heart of the Medina here, with all the big sights walkable, yet it’s a haven of calm inside We’ve heard that the food is delicious: daily changing breakfasts and some of the best tagines around The extremely helpful staff, who will gladly assist with organising excursions and booking restaurants The riad feels intimate and personal, with just 5 individually designed rooms, and intricate Moroccan patterns throughout Lows As with many riads, it’s a little tricky to find - ask them to book you a transfer if you’re coming from the airport, or call ahead before you arrive so that someone can guide you there No kids under 10" - Handpicked by our hotel experts

We had the best time in Marrakech, and it was mostly thanks to the incredible hospitality at Dar Assiya. Mohammed and Moad, the managers were truly amazing, kind, welcoming, thoughtful, and always ready to help. They made us feel at home, and went above and beyond in making our stay wonderful. ||Osama was really kind, helpful and warm. You could feel that all the staff genuinely cared. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, comfortable, and full of charm. Every meal was delicious, and the design is spectacular.||It was the most memorable and heartfelt hospitality experience we’ve had, and we left with so much gratitude.||Thank you for everything.

Staying at Dar Assiya was one of the highlights of our trip to Marrakech. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely at home. They were incredibly kind, thoughtful, and genuinely committed to making sure we had the best possible experience not just at the riad, but in the city overall. They helped us move around Marrakech safely and easily, and always made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of.||The building itself is stunning. Every corner of Dar Assiya shows off the beauty of Moroccan architecture, with so much attention to detail. You can tell how much care has gone into preserving and maintaining the space. It’s peaceful, authentic, and beautifully designed.||The food was also excellent. Each meal felt personal and fresh, and we really looked forward to breakfast each morning.||A huge thank you to Mohammed and Moad in particular. Your hospitality made a real difference, and we’re so grateful for how you looked after us.||I’d highly recommend Dar Assiya to anyone visiting Marrakech. The team here is something special, and staying at this riad made our experience in the city unforgettable.

Outstanding stay at Dar Assiya - we will definitely be staying there during our next trip to Marrakech. The hotel and the rooms were beautiful, and the staff could not have been more welcoming, helpful, and accommodating. The hotel is also perfectly located a short walk away from the center of the old city. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We were very happy with Dar Assiya. The property was very nice, the rooms were just as they appear in the pictures and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. After getting dropped off by taxi in the Medina we were a little turned around as the property is hard to find, but when we called in and someone came to find us quickly and walk us back. I also believe that they offer to send someone to meet you at the taxi drop off but we missed it in the email.||Additionally, when we asked for help booking tours we were set up with a good local guide for a Marrakech walking tour as well as an excellent driver for a 3 day trip out to Merzouga and Fes. Initially we were deciding on whether to make the desert trip on our own but decided to use the recommended tour company and it was the best decision.

The Raid was fantastic. Hidden in a small alley way, only added to our Marrakech experience.|The staff went above and beyond in helping us set up, a balloon ride and a walking tour. Both which were great.|The breakfast was fit for king. We did have dinner at the Raid the first night which was equally as good.|The room had an A/C. A balcony over looking the common area below.|The roof top patio was extra bonus. |The room had toiletries included, and the whole Raid was very clean.|A very well run and professional staff. We would love to go back and stay longer.

One of the most beautiful Riads we stayed in. Staff were amazing. Only had lunch there once but it was incredible. We were a gay couple which didn’t phase them in the slightest. Now this isn’t the Riads fault, this was our stupidity but please contract the Riad before arrival and they will arrange a taxi and porter service for you. Otherwise the local taxi drivers are in cahoots with some of the cowboy porters of the medina and you’ll get dropped off miles away and we got dinged for $60 by a shady porter. Contact the Riad!!! Their transfer service (which we used to get to the airport) was very professional and only $25.
