Dar Assiya, Marrakech, Morocco - Explore & Book

"There’s a mind-boggling choice of riad-hotels in Marrakech’s Medina, but only a small handful manage to strike that perfect balance between warm welcome, peaceful atmosphere and sumptuous Moroccan design. French hotelier Laurent Bernard knows how it's done, hitting the mark perfectly with his latest venture, Dar Assiya. This intimate, 5-room riad is seductively stylish. Architectural features date back to the 15th Century, and ornate patterns meander throughout. Everything is centred around a perfect Moroccan courtyard, with pillared arches, elaborate doorways, decorative lanterns and slender palm trees protruding up the middle. There’s a cooling plunge pool at the heart, elegantly decorated bedrooms to the sides, and a heavenly roof terrace at the top, with shaded seating to shelter from the scorching Moroccan sun. Breakfasts are said to be delicious, and the staff go out of their way to please. Need a late-night snack, pre-dinner drink, or help booking excursions? No problem. The fascinating Medina is right outside, so get out and explore its heady streets, then come back to decompress in Dar Assiya’s soothing, lamp-lit salons. Highs You’re bang in the heart of the Medina here, with all the big sights walkable, yet it’s a haven of calm inside We’ve heard that the food is delicious: daily changing breakfasts and some of the best tagines around The extremely helpful staff, who will gladly assist with organising excursions and booking restaurants The riad feels intimate and personal, with just 5 individually designed rooms, and intricate Moroccan patterns throughout Lows As with many riads, it’s a little tricky to find - ask them to book you a transfer if you’re coming from the airport, or call ahead before you arrive so that someone can guide you there No kids under 10" - Handpicked by our hotel experts

We have just returned from our trip to Morocco, having spent the last 2 nights at Dar Assiya. The Riad is beautifully appointed and authentic. We loved our room and very comfortable bed. We wanted to enjoy some winter sun and the rooftop terrace was just the place for it. The highlight of our stay was the dinner on the first night, the food was delicious and I would like to thank the cooks for preparing the feast for us. It was one of the best meals we had in Morocco. I would also like to mention the excellent choice of Moroccan wine on offer. Highly recommended.

Inside this riad is a beautiful setting, lovely rooms with very comfy beds and excellent bathrooms. Almost everything is thought about down to a speaker in your room, water, cotton buds, toiletries. Staff are so friendly and very attentive, always smiling and checking we were okay. Nothing is too much trouble to organise ( mountain and desert trips also) and they will happily escort you wherever you need to go. I felt truly looked after. Food is delicious with a very generous breakfast and ability to book for an evening meal, which we did and thoroughly enjoyed.|The only thing to be aware of is It's quite hard to find especially at night. Thankfully the restaurant Slimana is opposite and has a lot of signs and you can follow or you can call the hotel to get you!

I stayed at Dar Assiya for three nights in October 2025 and it was fantastic! This riad is beautifully appointed with attention to detail in the furnishings, service, and meals. The courtyard with it its beautiful reflecting pool is the perfect place to relax after a busy day in Marrakesh. My friend and I felt well cared for and pampered. I highly recommend a stay at this stunning riad!

Best Ryad in Marrakech. Since the last 8 years, this was my 3th time in this amazing place. The employees, the rooms, the atmosphere, the smells and the care with us visitors, is something unique 🙏. I will always return to Dar Assiya.

Beautiful riad! The staff is fantastic! They did a wonderful job arranging all of our activities and travel during our stay in Marrakech. We were well cared for by Mouad who was pleasant, organized, and timely with all the commitments and reservations. He also offered a number of suggested activities which were all terrific experiences. You can’t go wrong if you choose to stay at Dar Assiya!

We had such high hopes after seeing this Riad was recognized by Michelin. Unfortunately it didn’t meet our expectations. ||Communication was poor. We had let Laurent know of our plans in advance but at check in it didn’t seem that had all been communicated. We had an early departure and despite asking several people we weren’t able to secure a coffee. The air didn’t work in our room (perhaps user error and I admittedly did not call to have it looked at). The riad is in a small dark alley - if I was alone traveling I would be uncomfortable getting there. ||Our room on the first floor literally opened into the central courtyard with only glass doors so did not feel private. ||Our arrivals up was not smooth as we had to hire our own porter to assist with bags.

Fantastic Dar where nothing was too much trouble. The food and hospitality was amazing as were all the staff. The room was just perfect with everything we needed.||I would highly recommend staying here and it is so convenient for the souls and the main square.||We did go on a day trip to the three valleys which was organised by the hotel. Unfortunately we felt we were scammed a little as the driver took us to an Argon Oil women’s co operative. We felt we were put under a huge amount of pressure to buy with very hard core sales tactics and not really knowing how much anything was. Everything went through the till very quickly and the man there distracted us with chatter and didn’t show us how much we had spent before it was too late taking my husbands card. Stupid of us not to check but everything was so rushed. Just be careful if you go there and check what you’re buying and how much you’re spending.
