Wow! What a place! Dar Kandi is like a hidden oasis in the heart of the Medina. In can be found down a quiet alleyway, close to the action, but far enough away to be peaceful and relaxing. You can walk to the main square in 15 mins or the popular souks in under 5 mins.||The riad itself is very traditional and decorated beautifully! It is very clean, comfortable and the staff were wonderful! From the moment we stepped in the door, we were welcomed like close family friends. We stayed in the Balcony suite which was very spacious, quiet and cosy. The bed was comfy and the shower was massive! I would certainly recommend this room and also breakfast on the balcony was a special and unique experience. The only thing we didn’t like much were the windows into shower room. They didn’t seem to provide much privacy from guests/staff opposite or downstairs. Frosted glass would be good here.||The roof terrace is definitely a bonus. You can have a beer, coffee or soft drink up here but you can only buy wine by the bottle (not sure why). The pool was cold in December so we didn’t use it, but I can imagine it being refreshing in the summer. It’s quite a small area with just a few sun-beds. Luckily we’re not the type to lie around all day (some guests were up there all the time!). If you want a bed by the pool, get there early.||I would personally like to extend a special thank you to all the staff for arranging a birthday cake and decorations for my wife’s big day! She absolutely loved it!
