"For those who can’t decide between staying in a historic, riad-style inn in Marrakech’s old town or a larger resort in modern Ville Nouvelle, this boutique charmer provides the perfect compromise. Located in the leafy, upscale Hivernage neighborhood (a short taxi ride from both the medina and the French quarter), Dar Rhizlane occupies an Art Deco-era villa, where 20 rooms share space with intimate lounges, a fireplace-equipped library bar, and a verandah with views of the gardens and fountains. Named after exotic scents, guestrooms feature handpicked furnishings, traditional tilework, ornate bathrooms, and flattering mood lighting as well as a fireplace and some type of outdoor space. Also on-site is a pool ringed with loungers (open year-round and heated in the winter) and a small spa with a hammam (located in the main villa). In addition to overnight guests, the hotel draws a regular crowd for its cuisine. Le Minzeh serves light fare on a raised platform overlooking the pool; Le Jardin offers seasonal, Mediterranean-inspired dishes along with garden views; and the gourmet Le Mimouna—considered one of the best restaurants in town—features a Moroccan-French menu and glam setting. Also available are cooking classes, which start with a stroll through a local market, as well as services like in-room dining, on-site parking, and a 24-hour reception, which bring some of those “big hotel” touches to what otherwise feels like a wealthy friend’s estate."

The accommodation was a very pleasant surprise for us. The hotel is a small boutique hotel with its own charm and elegance. It seems like the best choice. The location is excellent. All important attractions are within 2-3 km. Even the airport is only 15 minutes away. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with a huge balcony, and the hotel staff is extremely friendly and polite. They speak excellent English and French.

I recently stayed at Dar Rhizlane with my partner and we loved every single day! Absolutely stunning hotel, amazing architecture but most importantly, amazing, super friendly staff who made us feel super welcome! Super super polite and attentive to details! They made sure everything was perfect! The room was extremely clean, air conditioning on, an absolute oasis in the desert! The swimming pool is absolutely gorgeous! No words can describe how wonderful our stay was! Definitely recommend anyone who wants to have an amazing Moroccan experience to stay there! We’ll definitely be back! :)

A beautiful hotel, very clean and well maintained. Even the white covers on the day beds were immaculate (and changed frequently). The room was spacious, with good air conditioning, comfy beds, nice pillows, an evening turn down service and towel change if required. |The breakfast was very good- there’s a set selection that they bring you with yoghurt, bread, pastries, cake, crepes and the most delicious honey in the world. You can order extra things and I particularly enjoyed the orange slices, dates and the cheese omelette. |We had two lunches and a dinner in the hotel. The food was lovely, the dinner was exceptional. I had a selection of 15 different vegetable based mini salads followed by spicy slow cooked lamb. At lunchtime the menu was a bit smaller but still really good- the lamb couscous with seven vegetables was superb and I especially liked the raisin and stewed onion sauce to put on. We had a Hammam session in the spa which was very good.|The location is good - it is possible to walk in to the centre via suburban roads rather than along the dual carriageway and took about 30 minutes. It’s easy to get taxis and it was usually around 10 euros. |Slight criticisms- the website said that they offer a complimentary airport transfer. It was 600 dirhams which was a bit expensive as the ordinary taxi back was 200. We were in the ground floor suite near reception and there was a lot of daytime noise from above us- sounded like furniture being dragged around.

We spent a week here and I have to say it is easily one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. All the staff were so friendly and easy going, couldn't do enough for you. Food was delicious and we also enjoyed the entertainment a few evenings with dinner. Nice relaxed music and signing. Our room was just incredible. We felt like we were at home it was that comfortable. The room was air conditioned and as someone who is strict on cleanliness I can say every day it was immaculate. You are within walking distance to a lot of places but if you want, plenty of taxi's available right outside. I can easily recommend staying here, it is absolutely worth every penny and we will re-visiting in the future.

Dar Rhizlane is very well located near Hivernage, cool Gueliz and the bustling medina.|Yet, once you enter through the hallway it is a haven of tranquility and relaxation.|The decoration throughout is very well thought out. The 21 spacious rooms and suites with balconies and public areas have all received a lot of care and attention. The pool is just devine.|House: check!||Now, for the 'home' part.|Soumeya and the entire team offer a warm and heartfelt welcome. Always available and with a smile, all requests are met with a yes. The doormen clearly take pride in their work as does the housekeeping team. Top marks!||The restaurant team delivers excellence from poolside breakfast and lunch through delicious meals on the terrace, accompanied by local musicians in the evening. Every dish is a culinary souvenir !||Dar Rhizlane, a beautiful house and cosy home that gets everything right.

Magical restaurant with excellent service and wonderful food.||We ate as a family and were accommodated for extra guests last minute with no issues. With 2 small children to seat, the staff helped arrange the table so a pushchair and restless little legs could be comfortably placed. |We had a delicious set menus that was served timely with generous portions. |Our evening was lit up beautifully with live music playing at a wonderful tempo and level in the background. |Wonderful family evening night out and you’d never know this oasis is set roadside.

Our Hotel Experience At first glance, the hotel made a very good impression, although it's a bit dated. It was clearly a former private villa. We noticed an unusually large number of staff working there. On Friday, our room wasn't ready when we arrived. An employee, who introduced himself as a cleaner and gardener, offered to accompany us to the old town. He walked very fast and urged us to visit a specific stall in the market. When we wanted to enjoy the park and take photos by a mosque, we politely declined his offer. He then verbally abused us terribly, calling us racists. We saw him once more the next day, but not after that. His work was then done by a younger man who looked like his son. We had booked a private transfer to the beach through the hotel, which cost us 220 Euros. Our acquaintances had booked the same transfer through their hotel for 160 Euros. This showed us that you can expect inflated prices everywhere in Marrakech. When we ordered a taxi to the airport through the hotel, we were quoted 14 Euros, but the taxi driver demanded 24 Euros at the airport. At the hotel, we always had to search for service staff before breakfast. Our room was also only cleaned at 1:30 PM, during siesta time. This was very unusual. On Monday morning, when we left the hotel to go to the city center, the older security guard at the entrance was asleep. Otherwise, the security staff seemed to be often busy with their phones. However, the service from the security guard on Friday was excellent. Even though I had told the manager that my friend had his birthday on Sunday, there wasn't even a card with best wishes in our room. We don't need that kind of "show service"—it was truly a shame. It seems the management still has a lot to learn. Apart from these incidents, the rest of our stay was perfect, and we would recommend the hotel. Special thanks go to the older gentleman at breakfast, who served us; he was great!

Marrakesh’s Hidden Gem: Dar Rhizlane Is the Moroccan Fairytale You’ve Been Dreaming Of… If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to step inside a Moroccan dream — equal parts palace, private estate, and romance novel — allow us to introduce you to Dar Rhizlane, Marrakesh’s best-kept secret (though we’re almost reluctant to share it with others). From the moment we entered, it was clear: Dar Rhizlane isn’t just a hotel — it’s an experience. A masterclass in attention to detail, where nothing is left to chance. Think: intricately carved archways, glowing Moroccan lanterns cleaned by hand (yes, every single one), and beds dressed like they were touched by angels — each drape of the sheets perfectly placed as if choreographed by royalty. Peace and tranquility reign here. It’s romance in real-time. From the serene pool surrounded by whispering palms to the dreamy breakfast area where bougainvillea blooms hang like nature’s chandeliers, this place hums with intimacy and soul. The trees themselves — over a century old — wrap the building like a protective, flowering hug. Even fallen petals don’t stand a chance. The grounds are so immaculately cared for that you’d swear the bougainvillea drop their flowers on cue, just to be swept away with grace. And then… there’s the service. Oh boy. Other hotels, take notes. Muhammad at the restaurant deserves a Michelin star in hospitality. By our second morning, he knew how we liked our coffee (strong), our eggs (runny), and our lives (spoiled). He was always one step ahead, yet never intrusive — the kind of intuitive care you can’t fake. And let’s talk about the barman, who should have his own Netflix cocktail show. He whipped up a spicy margarita so spectacular — laced with chili, harissa, and Chinese five spice — we nearly wanted to take him back to London with us. A fiery, fragrant elixir that deserves international recognition. The reception and front office team? First class. No request too small. No question left hanging. Not only did they meet our expectations — they shattered them. From simple asks to complex whims, they responded like hospitality ninjas: quick, quiet, and always with a smile. Dar Rhizlane is a rare breed of hotel where the service doesn’t just shine — it glows. This is the kind of place that doesn’t wait to wow you once a day — it works its magic every single second. Jerome and Shawn from London will be back. And if you know what’s good for you (and your soul), you’ll beat us to it. Jerome & Shawn London, UK
